Best Rough Water Poems

One night this darkness will end life
with clouds in damp fog without stars
and a moon dressed in tatters screaming
at feet scratched on pebbles in low-tide
rough water to sway one and stumble

Maelstroms twist, turn and swallow fish
in an icy-cold winterland with rickety wrecks
Stranded with thundering crashes ashore
leaving flotsam resentful on soggy sand
The roar of firebolts raging around

And the sky will fall in guarded shadows,
streaks painted in dripping revelations,
shades of nevermore patina
eroding encrusted thoughts into gaping holes,
swallowing what is left of the dream

The artisan's hand glares down from the sky
Gouache in thick streaks in tangerine rage
A knife sticking out scraping clouds
Unstable equilibrium shakes easel unnoticed
Genius vision or prediction of doomsday

When the unthinkable, unfathomable happens,
in silent sunbeam glory a single bloom forms
Tiny roots ruminate a desolate landscape,
gently removing soil from fractured stone,
caressing sorrows in springtime whispers

Dark clouds now cast warming farewells
as blue sky canopies float like streamers,
singing in harmony with endless beliefs that,
one night this darkness will end life,
until dawn’s resurgence is reborn

Holding our daughter
a smile finds my lips.
Yet, in rough water
that anchor soon slips.

Dreams drifted off course
when truth was beset.
And filled with remorse,
love turned to regret.

I recall your kiss,
and my spirit soars.
For my lips still miss
the sweet taste of yours.

In a sea of tears
love drowns in sorrow.
And reaffirms fears
there's no tomorrow.

Yesterday's pain inks
the waters of hope.
And my spirit sinks,
unable to cope.

We dance upon silver clouds
We promenade on moon beams
Holding hands in happy harmony
We share kisses under heaven's skies
You are the moon I reach for at night
You are the stars floating in my eyes
You are the warm golden rays that caress
As we drink from each others spirit
You are a calm reflection on rough water
As we float along life's pathway
Our bonds are forged by gentle hands
We reach for each other in the darkness
As we whisper into the midnight winds
I kiss the stars in your eyes my love.

Rough Water

The river is smooth, quiet, and serene.
Our fishing boat is at one with the flow.
Years from now I'll remember this scene
And wish it were like the life I would know.

But that isn't the nature of this estate.
Boulders may bludgeon at every turn.
Debilitating illness may strike early or late.
Rough water tells me I am here to learn.

Problems then are mortality's tool
To form and fashion the person to be.
They take us to the hard-knocks school
To prepare us for life's squally sea.

River

There’s a harsh river that’s flowing outside,
I can hear it from inside the house;
While I’m still slumbering after my rouse –
It is tugging the sand and eroding the riverside.

It is uprooting tragically the trees from within;
Yes it’s quite ugly in its flow –I don’t tease,
It’s true because it is breaking its new lease;
I surmise, its turbulent flow breaks a fish a fin.

And to add, the rain is pouring heavily with hail still,
Intensifying its flow at riptide; I hear a ripple in fine
And fast rough water that breaks the riverine –
And the sound of shivering and swaying water lily.

And as sweet with these admixture of sounds I fall asleep;
As solely does the sleep in sound mine is just too deep.

To Bring Our Family Closer

To bring our family closer together we went
For a walk in the myriad shades of green
Forest on a long light brown rough hew log
Pathway that goes through the woods
With a rope going along the top to hang
On to. We completely got away from
Society.
White flowers were growing through the
Logs on the left and right sides making
This a beautiful scene with an aromatic
Bouquet. The sun shining through the
Trees up ahead of us was giving off an
Autumn reddish brown glow to the leaves.
We had to face an actuality
Since we lost a child we needed a different
Type of family activity.
When Melody was alive we would all go to
The beach cottage to enjoy the sand, water,
Sun, and sea breeze.
Now to bring our family closer together we
Went for a walk in the myriad shades of
Green forest on a long light brown rough
Hew log pathway that goes through the
Woods with a rope going along the top to
Hang on to. We completely got away from
Society.
We wanted this family vacation to give us
A new family memory without any
Reminders of Melody taking away our
Gaiety
Or making anyone feel ill at ease.
We had to face An actuality.
Nature gives off a form of energy.
As does our grandchildren when their
Playing with our Maltese.
To bring our family closer together we went
For a walk in the myriad shades of green
Forest on a long light brown rough hew log
Pathway that goes through the woods with
A rope going along the top to hang on to.
We completely got away from society.
This was brought to life as we used the
Rough water fountain and the bathroom
Facility.
We were in a time freeze.
We had to face an actuality.
I am happy to report this vacation was a
Victory
For us as a family. Everyone was pleased.
To bring our family closer together we went
For a walk in the myriad shades of green
Forest on a long light brown rough hew log
Pathway that goes through the woods
With a rope going along the top to hang on
To. We completely got away from society.
We had to face an actuality.

Have the Courage

Have the courage
To put your heart into everything
Make great usage of opportunity
As you embark on your journey
You may face rough water
But, just keep pushing yourself
When necessary, adjust those sails
So you can prevail

Mirror

Placid surface
looking glass
still water

Silence but for the cries of ducks
silverfish
minuscule reflections
of an almighty orb
casting its omnipresent being
onto rippling water

Undulations
varying patterns
splintering the smoothness
heartbeats of water

Boatman
ferryman -
a carrier of souls
across Styx
deep water

A pathway to netherworlds
rough water

Life Is Like a Sea

L-ife is like a sea,
Y-ou can sense the silence;
N-ever can you hear the sound, because of the gentle winds.

M-an's life is like a sea,
A-n ocean of rough water;
R-ugged rain from above
I-s caused by vile weather.
N-o matter what the clime is,
A-pril twenty-second shows glee;
Y-ou have a lovely birthday, life is like a sea.

The Essential Stage

I could rip my heart out
and lay it upon this page
I could take time and count
all the Isolated days
I can sit and pray about
the end of this pain
Only to find out
This is the essential stage.

For any prayers that exist
and may bring about change
We see now with this
they've never came my way
I can sit with the intent
that time will end this some day
Or I can accept it
This is only the essential stage.

This rough water ocean
the home to this stage
remains out spoken
till this very day
My mind is still open
though controversial to say
but my will is broken
This is the essential stage.

Untitled

What a title as you can see
to pen the words that sets man free.
What do I grasp that could be
the setting of those for me?

To loose the bundle for words to flow
and get tangled in the colorful bow.
The feel of freedom is near I know.
Untitled is changing, the sails let go.

Rough water is swift, the wording is wet.
Untitled is drying while you get set
to fill the bucket with words that let
the pen flow to carry man's debt...

Lifesurfer

It seems that life is a series of waves
And I a surfer untried
Some waves are huge, some are small
Some I take in stride

Then one knocks me down and a pattern emerges
Too many times, I’ve been struck by the surges
Finding my balance to get up again
Takes longer and longer for me and then

It’s on to the next, when can I rest
When will I make it to shore
As I’ve gotten older, one thing I know is
There’s more rough water in store

Step By Step

Step by step……………………..
I am moving closer to what I am supposed to
Suppose to do what I don’t know
I don’t know what I am supposed to do
Step by step………………....
I am moving forward towards to a new goal
To a place I am supposed to go,
A goal I struggle, but no one knows
Step by step…………………
My trouble circles like merry go
Intertwines with my flaws so I move slow
So slow my brain begins to over flow
Step by step……………….
I am over cumbered with thoughts inside my mind
They race to fast I am starting to trail behind
This life is leaving me, now’s not the time to be blind
Step by step…………….
I only see the negative path that I have lead
The truth of lies that I miss read
The rough water that my mind makes me tread
Step by step …………
I failed everybody I knew in my life
The tears that falls is the blades that cut me like a knife
My heart that bleeds deep, I don’t want to lose my wife
Step by step ………
I carry the unconditional love as a father
I hope she never ever bothers to wonder
But this burden is so deep. I don’t want it discovered.
Step by step …..
I am moving further away to what I suppose to
Suppose to do the things I never do
I am better off far away from both of you.
Step By step..
