I do not always stay on top of the mountain

The room is empty, tears produce no sound

The silence answered with deep thoughts

Grief feels like to drown in the depths of darkness

In my quietest and lonely moments

As the black chords in a sad play

Role Reversal

His hands clasped tightly, one in mine, one in mother's. Days of baby steps made us nod in encouragement -- we let go. Daddy took his first balanced steps post crash. A memory of joy, watching him walk again.

dad's first leap of hope
puddles of joy held my breath--
gleaming roles reversed

The Parents' Role

Blame
yourself for
the things your
children say and do;
they got them from your
nasty looks, gestures and unkind words...
read them some stories from the Bible!
Mothers more than fathers should be their teachers;
no vile words they should speak, good manners count:
clean and obedient upbringing pave the way for future success,
discipline and behavior makes them stand out from other naughty kids!
All parents must play an important role in their children's lives,
if they do stupid things, correct them, not rebuke them;
nicknames aren't that funny and they will resent them,
have patience, teach them all the right ways
by allowing them to make some mistake!
Isn't perfection so hard to achieve?
Does that perfect one exist?
Human Nature has flaws,
fall and rise:
glory is
yours!

Am I wrong to ponder
Just how inconsiderate we are
From where we used to be
Today we think we're stars

Trust me we're no twinkle
In anybodies eyes,
frankly
Internally we should despise

Simply look how we treat the innocent
When they'll never produce our whatever
Meaning means that
Inhumane, as humans sever

Lets just close our eyes
Whilst role reversal plays
When a Gorilla tells you what to do
Do you have the balls to say nae

Will this ever happen
What humans dreams becomes
I truly hope their dreams come true
Evolutions succumb

Assuming My Role In the Diorama

I awake with the question "Am I like my predecessor?"
Automated and fabricated to slave for the oppressor
I join the procession yet I am an orbate transgressor
Dissipated and attenuated with no clear successor

Then I drift into much more lofty domains
With greater rewards yet more precarious terrain
A place where answers can not quite be explained
Where the mind is confounded but the spirit ascertains

Then I shower and shave; I sigh and greet the day
Will it be my chagrin or triumph I put on display?
In my head I have a tempest, in my heart a bouquet
I must choose which one to portray, which one to obey

Premium Member Role Models - Then and Now

In school when I was being raised
the role models who then were praised
were the American icons—
George Washington, “I cannot tell a lie”
Honest Abe, a straight-shooting kind of guy
Later we heard Jimmy Carter testify
“I’ll never tell a lie …”
For my generation and prior
they raised the bar higher
Honesty was the best policy

That was then
This is now …

When caught in a lie
deny
When accusations resound
double down
When proof’s presented
get inventive
When they continue to confront
cry witch-hunt
When they accuse you of a crime
deflect each time
When they bring more claims
call them demeaning names
over and over
and over and
over and over
and over again
Nothing to lose
You may even win …

But lying is still a sin

Best to extol the role model
who always gets it right
(then and now)

Role Play- Take 1

today
she took
her hand
and placed
it across her
face but
suddenly
she took
her hand
away
playing
peek
a boo

i
took
my hand
and placed
it over my
mouth
to keep
my happy
laughter
in but my
eyes were
giddily in
love

My Teacher-My Role Model

A teacher in my life,
to whom I have never told a lie.
She is the messenger of god,
and is the role model for all.
She teaches me the lesson of discipline, correctness and forgiveness,
so that my life is full of happiness.
A teacher who is wise,
She cares for me and wears no disguise.
She reminds me of the moral values and responsibilities,
So that I am not addicted to some bad quality,
She sometimes gets angry on me,
but I don't feel bad of it,
because She is the book of knowledge for me.

She is diligent and smart,Having a loving heart,
She is a storehouse of knowledge,
And has a unlimited mileage,
She can work 24 hours of the day,
Without giving a braek to the way,
She is none other than my teacher-my role model.

The Role Model

Would that I could be a star
an athlete with great fame renown
to sink a ball into a hoop
or smack a ball with a wooden bat
and carry a ball across a field
where the measure of man
is contractual gain
even though I must play in the rain

a role model for the common youth
even though I am uncouth

I may shoot a man
abuse a woman
commit adultery when I can
I can box very well
and beat someone without a care
and if that doesn't work
I’ll bite off an ear
I must practice each day to make the win
and after the game, let the fun begin
excellent drugs, let freedom ring!
ah, would that I could be a star
an athlete with great fame renown
I just sign here and here’s my goal
all I do is sell my soul

Role-Model

When I was called little brother,
I smiled.
It meant I have an elder sibling.
One from whom I could learn,
To discern,
Between Light and Dark.

What about the Grey?

Only a few would about the grey;
Enquire.
Even fewer,
Perhaps none
Would even begin to aspire,

Is grey the divider?

What is a divider?
A partition,
A separation,
A barrier.

In essence a carrier,
Of both dark and Light;
Having both thane sight!

The grey is never contrite,
It does and will do on sight!!!

Come with your purported might!
Closer…
Closer…
Unseen seen chaos,
These are my instruments,
Your might;;;
Will be eaten as sacrements.

For continual human growth within,
Mistakes rectified by the elder or role model;
Taught the current crop must be,
Lessons are as seeds;;;
Planted into our mother,
Blending with Earth, Water and Sun,
The seed transmutes and soon the seed has had its fun,
A plant is now the end product.

We humans are also ever transforming,
Perhaps not as apparent as natural beauty forming,

But what is natural beauty?

What is beauty?

Random randominity is beauty natural,
Random beauty is natural randominity,
Natural randominity is random beauty,
Beautiful randominity randoms naturally,

In essence;
Culturally cultural.

Not an over-spill,
Providence shines.
Understanding and comprehension,
In succession,
For thee.

The trick however is to pass on that understanding and comprehension.
But how do you do that?
When most of the generation is tuned to the Playstation!
Violent games evocating the continuation
Of our disgusting violent nation.

Perhaps attempt to not scold or tell;
Allow thane actions to speak wonders,
As an undiscovered well.

Keep the resonance of thane bell,
Consistant.
Perhaps another revolutionary,
Your prodige has to be selectant,
Of his student, his confectionary.

Without this passing down of knowledge,
We all might as well eat the most poisonous berry.

My Role Model

Who said my role model had to be black;
Who said she'd have to be like this or this is the way she should act.
Who put it in my head that my role model would have no faults;
Or that she should be put on a pedestal.....she would be safer in a vault.
What my mom told me and I do agree;
Is that my role model would exalt the best in me.
She could go through the storms of life and hold on to her faith;
She wouldn't have any special powers, she would seek the Lord's face.
She could confront tragic issues, and handle them with grace;
She would seek a higher calling, and wait patiently in her place.
She would have a concern for people and reach out to that need,
She would do it no matter what color, religion or creed.
She would put forth her best effort when she was on the job,
She never considered a task beneath her or anything too hard.
She would be positive and prayerful, and also watchful and careful.
She would have tact and have mercy; and avoid controversy.
As much as possible, she would live peaceably with all men;
She would resist the devil and he would flee, she'd avoid his agent sin.
It may seem like I am exalting her or lifting her too high,
But she is a Christian woman and the Lord she does not deny.
So when you read this poem, it is really a little story;
It is not her I am exalting, but to God be the glory.
She is a friend who listens and has a deep concern;
I have worked with her for many years and these things I have learned.
Now you may be curious as to who this woman is,
She is a friend who has occasionally wiped away my tears.
She only finished high school, but that did not hold her back;
And one other thing.....NO...she is not black!!

"Happy father's to the brave men, the real men, the men that accept their responsibilities and never turned their back on their children, and thank you to the great mothers that embrace the challenges of playing the role of both mother and father for their children when those cowardly men were never there to face their own responsibilities... Happy father's day!" - LexussJonessSaid It Bestt (: -

Premium Member God's Role In Leadership

No doubt there are some folks who will scoff at the concept I propose,
But I think God chose courageous leaders when times of adversity arose.
He's done a pretty good job of selecting people who acted with determination,
To bring triumph out of chaos leading others to their ultimate salvation!

He selected Moses to lead His people out of bondage to the Promised Land.
Through many trials and tribulations they reached freedom under his command!
He chose a Babe to lead His Kingdom here on earth for the redemption of man.
Though He was rejected and was to die on The Cross, He rose to rule again!

Washington was named to break the bonds of tyranny that bound this nation.
He faced formidable obstacles - lesser men would have given up in frustration!
God wisely chose Lincoln who led a broken nation with wisdom and resolve.
Though facing untold challenges he persevered that a united nation might evolve!

That mighty oak, Roosevelt, led the nation to victory during World War Two.
God named him the leader and gave him the strength to see the battle through!
Surely God chose Martin Luther King to deliver his message of reconciliation,
To strive for the integration of all races and religions of this great nation!

Senor Luis Urzua, the hero of the Chilean mine disaster and highly respected boss,
With superb leadership reunited 33 miners with their families without a single loss!
To list all great leaders who by God's grace have emerged down through the ages,
Is certainly beyond my meager abilities but would fill tomes and tomes of pages!

I knelt down and did up her zipper -
Mum struggles with her sight you see
She kissed me gently on the top of my head
and said
 ‘things I did for you as a child ...
now you do for me’

12th April

The above happened yesterday - I am on massive emotional roller coaster with mum at the moment 3 amazing days and today she’s not so good and I’m struggling with the emotions

Role Reversal

Many years ago I lost a friend...
 memories of her will never end !
All the times we spent together
are now etched in my mind forever !

It wasn't perfect all the time...
yet our relationship was prime !
Mother and daughter through the years,
wiping away each other's tears !

Celebrating when times were good...
getting together whenever we could,
for shopping sprees and lunches too.
Through all those times our closeness grew !

From the cradle she mothered me;
it was impossible then to see
that Mother Nature had a plan
to change things from how they began !

In her final days roles were changed
for the future was prearranged !
Now Mom relied upon my care...
it was time for me to do my share.

Mom became a child again
and I took on the role of "Mother Hen" !
It wasn't easy playing the part
but the love was from heart to heart !
