God's Role In Leadership

No doubt there are some folks who will scoff at the concept I propose, But I think God chose courageous leaders when times of adversity arose. He's done a pretty good job of selecting people who acted with determination, To bring triumph out of chaos leading others to their ultimate salvation! He selected Moses to lead His people out of bondage to the Promised Land. Through many trials and tribulations they reached freedom under his command! He chose a Babe to lead His Kingdom here on earth for the redemption of man. Though He was rejected and was to die on The Cross, He rose to rule again! Washington was named to break the bonds of tyranny that bound this nation. He faced formidable obstacles - lesser men would have given up in frustration! God wisely chose Lincoln who led a broken nation with wisdom and resolve. Though facing untold challenges he persevered that a united nation might evolve! That mighty oak, Roosevelt, led the nation to victory during World War Two. God named him the leader and gave him the strength to see the battle through! Surely God chose Martin Luther King to deliver his message of reconciliation, To strive for the integration of all races and religions of this great nation! Senor Luis Urzua, the hero of the Chilean mine disaster and highly respected boss, With superb leadership reunited 33 miners with their families without a single loss! To list all great leaders who by God's grace have emerged down through the ages, Is certainly beyond my meager abilities but would fill tomes and tomes of pages! Robert L. I can't rate this poem as high as I would like to. I only wish the voters could read this. It would help a lot of people with their questions. Thanks for your comment on my poem. I miss coming here but I just can't keep up with every thing. God Bless, you and Vera. Cile

Bob, I think people in both parties would agree that leadership is sorely needed. And I certainly am not reluctant to complain about the lack of leadership in D.C. Still, I understand why some choose to play it safe and avoid politics. The only "name" I've mentioned recently is Nancy Pelosi and I'm a lifelong Democrat who will be supporting independent candidates and non-incumbents in November. Love, Carolyn

Very insightful writing, Bob. It was a miracle the miners from Chili were all rescued. And no one can argue with the leadership of Moses, Lincoln, King and FDR. Do you find that leadership qualities seem to be lacking in American leaders today? Love your poem, Carolyn

It is true that God puts men in leadership positions and then some men who are controlled by the evil one the devil himself come into power through God allowing that to happen and I don't understand that but I know God has his purpose and reasons..Thanks for stopping by a nd leaving the kind comments..Sara
