Best Robyn Poems
I followed that cad Robyn Hood
and discovered he's up to no good
An expert at cheating
bad mouthing and bleating
His actions I've not understood
Oh how awful that folks feel so glum
Many now call him Robyn Hoodlum
He's a raunchy thief
who brought them to grief
He preyed on the blind, deaf, and dumb
Robyn has folks dancing like Muppets
He loves to treat them like puppets
He tugs at their strings
and then clips their wings
No wonder their confidence plummets
Heard the sheriff will arrest him soon
Robyn will be singing a new tune
While sitting in jail
He will cry and wail
In sorrow for acting like a goon
Sheriff found out Robyn is a girl
Her real name is Antoinette Pearl
Robyn Hoodlum wed
Now the sheriff is dead
and Robyn is engaged to an earl

Fairytale plot by Jan Allison, Marti Sutherland, and Lin Lane
‘Come bring my bow of English yew and raise me from this bed
And let me look upon the wood where once I lay my head’
With fading sight and wearied limb through window rose he gazed
With summoned strength and trembling arm his mighty bow was raised
Sinews drawn to fullest test he let the arrow fly
And sinking back upon his bed he breathed a heavy sigh
‘Follow yonder willow shaft through forests darkened keep
For flighted by the angels, twill appoint where I shall sleep’
The stalwart oak tree caught the shaft, appointed by Gods grace
Beside a brook, in bluebell’d wood, there marked his resting place
In tunic Gold and Lincoln green, his sword upon his breast
Beneath the trees of Sherwood green was Robyn laid to rest
That mighty heart, its labour done, when stilled its Valliant quest
All England mourned its stalwart son who bore the Locksley crest
And through the silent forest, soft April showers wept
To wash that place from hearts and minds, a secret ever kept
One maid, one Friar, with little John, in sombre vigil stood
In silent witness mourning, the passing of the Hood
On England’s green and pleasant land was played a Hero’s part
And Never more on sceptre’d isle will beat a truer heart

Having a shower is relaxing, water gently falling,
Soothing your naked body, but I nearly went sprawling,
I was staying with Ricky and Robyn his wife,
When an incident the most embarrassing in my life,
Took and shook away all my feminine power,
All because I nearly slipped and stumbled in the shower!
They bought non slippery mats, but had to pass,
It felt as if I was actually walking on glass,
They were renovating their bathroom, so for safety
Placed them right to the door, so thoroughly wet I bravely
Attempted to walk on the first one, nearly broke my neck,
Back to the shower oh goodness me, I felt like a wreck.
Tried to cool the water down as it had turned hot,
But the tap came off in my hand, oh no please not
Another disaster, the window had bars, onto which I held,
ROBYN I yelled come quick I can’t take a step, I felt
Helpless, Robyn rushes in – I’m as naked as the day I was born,
In my hand was the tap that had broken, I was quite forlorn,
Don’t worry about the tap, it does this every so often,
The door was open, I heard the dogs barking at the commotion,
All five Labradors rushed in, tails wagging, ready for a party,
Dudley the fattest is loving, so cuddy, but always so farty,
Ricky whistled for the dogs from the kitchen, they ran out,
The water was the right temperature, mats without doubt,
Were removed, and so eventually I finished my shower,
As I was stepping out of the bathroom, the lights went out,
We had no power!
Me,my dad and sister Robyn.
Went a fishin with a bobbin.
I hooked a tire and realed it in.
A big ole bullhead was in the bin.
So Dad said, quit your sobbin.
I told my brothers what I caught.
Their disbelief is not what I sought.
My Brother Scott said I was lying.
Brother Terry said quit your crying.
Mother said, don't give it another thought.
I've told this story many times.
And now I've told it with some rhymes.
The best part is, is that it's true.
And with one more line it will be through.
Fishin's fun if you don' mind the slime.
A spiritual light kept out of sight.
Too quiet to be heard.
The wings of love could not be spread.
On this fearful little bird.
Silently, the prayer was heard by only it's own ear.
As hope was slowly washed away.
By the pain within a tear.
A meek request is this bird's best.
To try and stop the rain.
It's fearful faith has failed the test.
As it slowly starts to wane.
Where can you go when you don't know?
How to connect with God.
You feel so lost and powerless.
That life just feels so odd.
I'm asking for your prayer's my friend's.
To get my message through.
Until my Robyn flies again.
I don't know what to do.
Bright sparkling eyes and a gorgeous smile
the most beautiful rosy face that stands out a mile
brought into my life the most perfect little girl
i love her so much she completes my world
The first time she laughed when her teeth
came through tears rolled down my cheeks as
i whispered ''im so proud of you''
The expressions on your face never
fail to make me smile i like to take pictures
so i can look for a while, my heart melted
the first time you giggled, the first time i bathed
you you sat there and wriggled,
Who are u talking about i hear you gobbing
my fantastic niece no other than robyn
when you crawl, when you sit there and play,
Robyn you never fail to amaze me i could watch
you all day,
As you grow up i'll always be there to miss
one single moment i would not dare
read this when your older and i hope
you understand
i'll be there every minute
just me and you hand in hand.

The orchid is Mother Nature's masterpiece ~ Robyn…
So exotic
So exquisite
in detail
and in hue

Appears
delicate and fragile
but stronger
than you knew

Cosseting
Pampering
she truly abhors
Keep her just moist
Keep her indoors

No direct sunlight
this favorite of mine
Rewarding you tenfold
with flowers divine

A long lasting gift
of kaleidoscopic hues
Each flower unique
a porcelain treat

Freshly painted

my breath
she takes away

Her beauty

he grew up in the city of hard knocks
running wild avoiding dirty cops
BROOKLYN is his home and the ghetto is where he roamed
from a child he always was a fighter
only when he got older did he become a biter
he got into trouble so many times
finally he got locked up for his crimes
he started boxing to relieve his stress
eventually becoming one of the best
his relationship with robyn was touch and go
could of been a reality show
he was abusive and hit her alot
she finally called the cops and he got caught
that wasnt the end he went through more
committing a rape behind closed doors
he did his time and was released
came home a natural born beast
through the years he tattooed the left side of his face
marking his territory and showing his place
he was granted permission to box out the country
that was when it hasppened on live t.v
he had some kids in between his bids
went from rich to poor thats what he did
today i heard the saddest news
his four year old daughter is on life support
we are no judge in a high ranking court
let him be in peace cause life is short

"...push the sides apart
this is what I'm controlling
it's a mold
the inside that I carve"
"I seem to have loved you
in numberless forms,
numberless times…
In life after life,
in age after age,
forever.
My spellbound heart
has made and remade
the necklace of songs,
That you take as a gift,
wear round your neck
in your many forms,
In life after life,
in age after age,
forever...."

Deep in the forest
Outlaws lie in wait
For well off noblemen
Their monies to take
They steal from the rich
And share with the poor
How long can they hide
In their forest so pure
This band of commoners
Go against the grain
The Sheriff of Nottingham
To have them slain
The followers who follow
These outlaws so bold
To introduce them
Your about to be told
There's Little Joan
A girl so large
She bowls men over
With the strength of her charge
Then there's Touch
The Miller's daughter
Who keeps doing things
She shouldn't off aught to
Willena Scarlet
Demanded clothing and a horse
If this never happened
Her language became coarse
Not forgetting
Nena the nun
Whose amazing beauty
Made the enemy run
And the last of the gang
Butler Bill
Whose amazing weaponry
Made this leader shrill
You've met her gang
Now meet their leader
She's Robyn Hood
An out and out heart bleeder
Dressed in black leathers
Low cut front
Cleavage guys die for
Which makes them grunt
It's not the poem
You thought it was
But why the change
Och, just because

Early 90s a friend of mine was some kind of Teamster working on the Sony Studios lot in Culver City. I was in town visiting and invited out one day to the set of some stupid show but I met William Devane and he was cool. So, Sony was shooting the treehouse set for the movie Hook on a stage near by. It was a secured set bc the studio didn't want photos getting out but my buddy knew a guy that snuck us both in. We were in the wings checking out this thing and noticed a group of Japanese executives taking a tour, stereotypical looking, black suits, thin black ties but NO CAMERAS. After a just few moments it became apparent that Robyn was on set and he had gathered together some crew members armed with poles, brooms, a boom mic and we watched him march these guys in front of the Sony execs while all whistling the theme to The Bride on the River Kwai. It was eyewatering hilarious but the 3 of us held it together until we got out of there. True story
I pay homage to a special group
Our ladies here on Poetry Soup
I shall start my list with mother Beer
A Lady with whom I hold so dear
Of Elaine George it’s clear to see
She melts my heart with her poetry
When it comes to Sharon what can I say
I would humbly bow before her any day
For my friend Rhoda it is clearly written
With her as momma cat I wish I were a kitten
Katherine with her darling Jenny so bright
The two of them together are a sheer delight
Michaela is off to Collage excited this year
I’ve never met a soul that is so dear
We have two Ladies fighting for their boys
Mary and Christy both deserve all life’s joys
Two more ladies that are really swell
My friends Laura and the darling Adell
Margaret is special, kind and really sweet
The most spiritual lady I ever did meet
We have a Mermaid off the Australian Coast
To my dear friend Robyn I propose a toast
Carol please know these words are true
Never in this life could I forget you
I guess I must be getting a little dreary
I have yet to mention Karen O’Leary
To Astrid, Bella, Farrah, Peggy and Rene’
I am blessed you have all passed my way
Speaking of blessings these words are true
Crystal proves we are blessed by what we do
One special Lady just sets my heart aglow
Tis my oldest daughter Sarah Jho
The two I hold in my prayers and memory
God watch over Tami Violet and Lynn Marie
I must tell the truth for I shall tell no lies
Added this cause I forgot Carrie and Heidie Buys
And now I am feeling very low and blue
Cause I went and forgot Patricia and Kristin to
I didn't even have to think it over twice
Before I jumped back and added D-nyce
I didn’t realize when I started this endeavor
That the list could just go on and on forever
I must end this poem for it’s starting to hurt
Wife just hit me for being a flirt (Just Kidding)
I apologize to any Ladies that I have
overlooked in this poem. Please know
I hold you all in my heart, prayers and
daily thought. I love you all. God Bless
