Best Retrievable Poems

Premium Member Like Brightest Stars

Like the brightest stars we fade in time
Losing the sparkling diamond in our eyes
Our zest for excitement slowly subsides
Attempts to succeed become futile tries.

The light we send out diminishes with age
Life, as in childhood, is no longer sublime
Each day we slowly turn another page,
And think about when it will be our time

While frantically trying to recoup our youth
Knowing the past has slipped slowly away,
We cling to our wit and humor often uncouth
Searching for real meaning in every day.

Not retrievable in this fleeting dimension
We search for vestiges of elusive truth,
In a restless world filled with hatefulness
While protecting our own, staying aloof.

Until no longer the night sky projecting,
We burn out in a barely noticed blaze of glory,
And hope upon hope, not really certain,
Someone will care enough to tell our story.

Crush Love ~or~ You Knew Me Before We Spoke...

This feeling, it's always intangible
never retrievable when you're in need
It's salt on the skin of the girl you're within
It's thoughts which preceed every deed.

It's auras of color which only some see
and some bump right into and pass
It's the sound of one's voice which cuts into your manner
and answers you before you ask.

This feeling, this sick to soul reeling
is always inevitable and swift
A moment of every word yet to be spoken
and every life left to be lived.

Where does time go
transient
a fleeting gust of air
non retrievable
a whirlwind in a mirror
fragmented shattered
unforgettable memories
unforgivable regrets
a circular menagerie
slow motion
rewind

a vortex of emotions

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Sobriety Anniversary

TWO YEARS TODAY!!That's right, go ahead
and let the UNIVERSE know big SISTA, that's
1,051,200 min sober yeah we're countin
WITH YA! Raise your arms, leap, feel free to
shout a SCRIPTURE, crowds clapping, joyful
smiles and tears, NOW PLAYING " DAWN'S
DAY" A Paramount PICTURE... The past and
all the uncontrollable, irresistible, impractical
disease infected moments are
WITHDRAWALABLE, they are erasable, no
longer noticeable and you have shown ALL
OF US THAT NO MATTER HOW LOST YOU
FEEL"LIFE IS indeed RETRIEVABLE" Disease
and ADDICTION are SURVIVABLE, It's not
easy cuz those overemotional thoughts
are so easily MANIPULATABLE, and attack
every weakness to breakdown your guard
trying to convince you that those cravings
are simply IRRESISTIBLE! But exactly
63,072,000 seconds ago you Dawn-ster
stood up to that MONSTER, took your life
back, STOPPED LIFE'S FORECLOSURE! You
recalculated and refinanced the interest and
showed STRIFE, took down the for sale sign
put a hold on moving on to the AFTER LIFE!

The Journey of Love
                               Authored by Chuck Keys

Reading a poem of love I wonder,
what does a warm summer day feel,
when it has no memory of the loss of
how its heat faded in time, ever so slow,
one tiny silent drip at a time, like a leaky faucet.

It comes to pass eventually,
knowing that time has digested the differences
from what it was,
to what it is and to what it will be.
It is forever lost at this time.

A lonely somberness soon fills the void of the wonder and warmth,
daylight ebbs and flows into darkness and soon loses its distinction.
Loneliness follows and the love is non-retrievable,
without love, life is never the same ...
an endless emptiness follows and stays, lingering.

A Poem's Flight

When words quiet my mind and awaken
my spirit, I feel the seasons of life
harmonize. But tedious thoughts and busy
days return too fast, so I pocket the retrievable
words, the simple notes of poetic music; my unsung
lyrics and the rhythms make sense of chaos.
I write in an explosion of feverish passion;
I attempt to grip the hands of time. Words come
out to dance in fiery night. I feel more alive,
I feel in control of what shatters my solace,
all that cracks my narrow path - the internal thunder
from my own crashing cymbals. Regimented steps
will never heal my wounds, my woes, so I write.
Wishes made on lashes, copper pennies, or remains
of half-lit candles may never come true, so I pray
for my peace. A song escapes to heal a broken
heart and pounding head, a song more hypnotic
than a whirring wind of carefree souls in a weightless
flight. I want to rise, enraptured within a bold sky
of somersaulting clouds. In my eyes, sleepy horizons
rest upon earth’s warm surface. Heaven gives birth
to miracles and this day blushes in sunlight upon
rosy cheeks. It seems my poem, with a life of its own,
needs to rock gently, breathe in, maybe pass the time
in meaningful contemplation. Only then will it climb,
dangle above me, cling to my memory and glide on
(separate from me) full, bare, uninhibited in a new,
white-cotton sky. Intangible impressions shrink
to fit on a tangible page until words are free.
Then and only then does my poem fly over
a weary day's setting sun and a cooling horizon.

Premium Member A Wonderful Amazing World

The world keeps spinning day after day
But the one thing always remains constant
It's love sweet love, nothing's more enduring
The only thing we've ever wanted

Nothing replaces it not one single thing
It's the most ultimate enjoyment of mankind
The reason we breathe, it's why we exist
All the good things in life combined

As hard as we try nothing can replace it
Since this big old world first began spinning
It's the real reason us guys were created
The reason we're constantly grinning

Imagine a world where love didn't exist
Could we handle the constant upheaval
If you think the world's filled with hatred now
Our life would be beyond retrievable

So let us all pray that pure love continues
And one day we'll all live in peace
What a wonderful amazing world that would be
When hatred would finally cease

Joan of Arc

Come with me
Deep in the stars
We shall lie upon this grass
For a few hours, touching
Gently blow a kiss
Into the depth of the sky
And all apologies
Shall be caught in eased sigh
Allow me to lead you through this world black
Around it and back
You wear pain
As though chains
Were embracing all loves luxuries
Alas we will not die in slight defeat
Waiting for the night to stare
A star gazing through your eyes
Knows you truly do care
And slightly dims when you cry
For there is a star in the sky
And a glow in the moon
Guiding your way with its light
Tranquility will subside soon
So if you believe in pretend
And reach way up high
The stars angel shall descend
Abolishing all tears from your eyes
It’s painful to you
So is the truth
Can’t you understand?
Words are forgivable
For when we clasp our hands
They become retrievable
Now words are meaningless
And forgettable
Far too late to change events
Time for consequence
Again you kiss the sky
Wave your goodbye
A star smiles and begins to cry
Washing away all pain
You arise from the grass
In the warm blanket of tears in rain

Ode To An Oklahoma Locksmith

Nationwide Insurance twas on my side yay
cuz, earlier this July forth
     two thousand eighteen ja way
windows closed, doors locked, and

     car keys visibly splayed
     on driver seat oye vay
feel free to call me a horse's ass today
utter anxiety compounded,

plus unable to locate master key,
thence fodder for poem and more to say
rifling thru boxes without success,
an impulse arose to call road

     upon learning policy
     doth include locksmith service,
     ah felt less doggone snappish,
     and uttered hoo ray

though modest aye,
     congratulated awesome,
     fulsome, and handsome
     self on quick thinking,

and automatically became less tiresome
pondering for no particular rhyme nor reason
(as a getaway) Panama or Paraguay
then immediate decided,

     sans ditto explanation,
     but no how and nay
yet honest to dog suddenly felt
     like a young lovestruck lad

     during month of May
and without further delay
a compulsion arose
to putter along, though

     momentarily gazing heavenward
     and counting (just beak caws)
     glistening black crows
plus painfully aware

     a spike in recurrent
     "senior" moment of forgetfulness grows,
thus starkly aware significant rustiness
     increasingly, frightfully,

     and chokingly coats
     lix spit tillage harrows
resuming schlepping dishabille
     crotchety bedeviled aching

     body electric irksome
with fringe benefit (such as
     momentary lapse of reason)
     quite aware mettlesome

ness of youth nonrefundable,
     non-reliable, and non-retrievable,
     and guaranteed continued
     pricking, viz nettlesome

degenerating aging telomeres,
     sensate perspicuity, and oxysomes
leaving a once robust person some
what discombobulated
     and easily toilsome.

Twenty Steps To One

Twenty steps, I thinks not,
The energy I have not got.

Eighteen steps sounds a bit better
Then again I must write a letter.

Sixteen steps is perhaps achievable
But my computer program is retrievable.

Fourteen steps I may make for you,
But you will have to make them too.

Twelve steps, now we are getting somewhere
But where that is I know not, nor care.

Ten steps, yes I' ll think on that,
But I have already walked the cat.

Eight steps, now you are really talking
But what shall I do while I am walking.

Six steps, that sounds more real,
But then again, how do I feel.

Four steps I will think about
But I think I hear a shout.

Two steps, I think that's a dance,
I really don't think there's a chance.

One step and that's to bed,
Activities there, you read my head.

Masterpiece

Master Piece”

After my temple was pulverized I found myself weak
Sifting through my ruins
Salvaging the retrievable broken pieces
As I manage to stand to my feet

Placing them all in a stack
Collecting and putting them in a heavy sack
That Im attempting to carry relentlessly back up this slippery slope on my back

Now determined and ascending away from my darkest lowered levels
Im climbing into a brighter light
With revisions of greater sight
Avoiding all the hindering evil spirit devils that use to tempt me in my past life

Finally reaching the slippery slope peak
Through perseverance Ive ascended out of my grave into a new body and Im no longer weak
Death to life is what I speak
A greater daily intimate connection with GOD is what I greet

My main nourishment of assistance
That supports me to steadfastly stand firm on my feet
As I effortlessly assemble my broken pieces back together
Building from my past testimonial thesis
Equipt with the knowledge Ive obtained throughout my valley journey
Would also contribute to my display of my masterpiece completeness

I Plant a Tree In the Unit of Your Soul

i plant a tree in the unit of your soul
i embrace the happiness that refuses to hide in a corner
i loosen up slowly thank in part to the brightness of your quiet genius
i never thought it would be you who lives your life signing autographs of influence
when i wake up every morning, i take in the nature of your smile
heaven is at arm's reach, and God is a gentle peck away
you water the flower in the condo of my mind
what grows, as a result, is a foundation of stability
green i am to your faithfullness and your loyalty
you make loving to love easy and sincere
you make the assurance of definitive truth existant and believable
you make the heartbeat of forever's infinity reachable and retrievable
we do not have to pretend or play some odd and ridiculous role
to honor you, i plant a tree in the unit of your soul....

Premium Member Sounds I Remember

Why do you listen to echoes of shells strewn above your ears?

Those voices, once soft and loving, now bark churlish commands from ai drones, whirring subconscious tropes, retrievable by unseen

Puppet Masters; confident their mass of
Luminoids will sway like clouds of wind

Swept insects, inhaling vast quantities of
Ideas and movements of humans

             who

                      remember
