little boxes ticked
delete button selected
memories erased

the good and the bad
no longer retrievable
new memories made

forgive and forget
no words left to remind me
will my heart forget?

I've deleted so much, erased big chunks of me, often times on the verge of purging everything and everyone. It is the chance to make a change and to make the new memories good is what keeps us going. Hugsx

Of all the people I know, I can safely say this, toss all the philosophy and words out the window, if one reaches out and hugs, you'd be amazed the bridges mended, Eileen's poetry exemplifies the love and the need for love to me, we can learn so much by reading her words. Hugs

I don't think the heart forgets, it may pile on other thoughts to mute some of the feelings that seem to hard to bear.

There are some things that are hard to read...they remind you of a specific instance or misunderstanding. How much better just to remove that offensive write. I'm doing spring cleaning of my inbox here. Hugs

Yes, sometimes we don't want to learn the lesson. Thank you for your visit to my work.

The bad memories will be looked at in the future as a chapter that is in the past..because time is a healer, but the beautiful ones..no matter how many years pass by will always be there to remind us...there is beauty in this world..and we were lucky to live it..in special moments..A gteat poemmmBig hugs sweet one.

Thanks, Charmaine. :) I've cleaned out my inbox. Just clicking on all those boxes and seeing titles reminded me of some of the past issues here. Misunderstandings invariably will occur, but when one's character is maligned...it leaves a lasting scar. I'm thankful that I have so many wonderful things to remember as well. You are a bright spot...always have been...always will be. Meeting you will forever live in my heart. I do love you...dearly. Hugs

I'm clearing out my inbox, Tim. Every now and then a spring clean is needed. Unfortunately, I was reminded of some of the hurtful issues that went on here....some blogs....some nasty emails. Sometimes it isn't easy to forget. With everything gone...at least I will not be tempted to go back and read those mean words. Thanks for reading this one. It's actually a true to life poem. :) Hugs

I wish it were as easy as ticking and deleting, Eileen! Computers we are not, and coming to terms with certain things is never going to be plain sailing! Hugs // paul

Yes, dear...You are right. We learn from our mistakes....at least we hope to learn from them. I am not one to easily forget, unfortunately. Forgive I may....forget...is an impossibility. Scientifically speaking, the mind remembers those things which are the most painful or joyful. I'm glad my Malta trip is safe in my mind's storage room! :) Meeting you was definitely a highlight. Hugs, dear.

Not at present, though I have deleted some poems in the past. Never again. I'm proud of my work. :) Don't worry, dear. I'm well....I'm just cleaning out my inbox and some painful memories came up. Misunderstandings will always cause strife, I guess. I'm learning to keep more to myself. Atr least I'm trying to stay away from the blogs! ;) Anyway....No worries. :) Hugs
