A world full of different colors and shapes
As well as apes
Locations that do or don't sell crepes
Vines with or without grapes
Houses with dark or light drapes
That do or don't have cassettes and video tapes
Near and far from any capes
Surfaces continually getting more scrapes
Each having their own plate
A smile on everyone's face
While one said grace
By a fireplace
Flower vase
And curtains made of lace
Soon everyone took a taste
Then said it was a great
Especially the steak
Later on, all had dessert, which was home-made cake
It's all good if you can't relate
To anything I state
Or paint
A life that is quaint
Currently got no complaints
I ain't
No saint
A lot of things took restraint
Didn't want to let it go to waste
Couldn't always play it safe
Wasn't always worth the risk, and what I happened to make
I can't afford to take a break
Or flake and be late
That'd be more than a mistake
People being honest or fake and like a snake
There's always going to be love and hate
I do more than educate
But hold up wait
Let's get one thing straight
Drake
You were on Degrassi, and I'll put you into your place
See through, not opaque
Soft as a pancake
Grab, pull and throw you out your wraith
I don't care how much your being paid
You can catch a fade
I walked by,
And saw your face;
You saw my eyes,
Can you relate?
Nothing to say,
I was in pain;
All I needed was an embrace;
Shedding my tears,
Can you relate?
I sat and wept;
Nothing to tell,
You saw my face,
Can you relate?
I touched your hands,
You touched mine;
Can you take me away?
Can you relate?
To hard to choose,
Difficult to decide;
It's getting late,
Can you relate?
If I choose,
Might I lose you;
If I decide again,
Could my heart die again?
Can you relate?
Its so much easier to listen to you speak
say the words that are turning over and over
inside of me
panick attacks increased anxiety
but your not in my world
im in my own now
putting my pride aside
drawing but crossing my own lines
my desicion took a wrong turn and once again im left in disbelief
you see i dont hate you
in fact i was so confused for a minute cause i found myself in love with you
my heart drowned in its own blood when I found out what you were really doing to me
im tryna free myself of resentful thoughts
i want back my peace of mind
as i sit back and think
still my emotions are hard to find
Like it or not we all are one
That came to planet earth as one
Arguing and fighting this maybe
But in the end we find harmony
We are brothers and sisters
Who can’t seem to agree
That God is the one who can set us free
Your blood flows through me
And mine through you
Like it or not I am a part of you
We have turned sex into something bad
We kill each other without one thought
What have we done to ourselves
Believe this or not but here is a thought
Why can’t we just love each other
Brothers and Sisters I leave you with this
Stop fighting and bring peace and harmony
I can relate to Daniel and the lion’s den. That’s the name my mom named me when I was born with sin. My mom named me that name in the Bible. She saw that it came from God’s word which is reliable. Daniel is very humble. He reminds me of me even when I stumble. He has dreams and visions. Life for Daniel those times were many thoughtful decisions. Daniel has a big heart of joy. My heart is so big that it can fill poor kids with so many toys. Daniel stood up for what he believed. I also put all my burdens towards God and now I am relieved. God talks through me through Daniel. I remembered when a child of God told me to read the book of Emanuel. For me I locked up all my sins in the Lion den.Coming to our lord and savior Jesus Christ is a win win. I am a true Child of our lord. Until that day comes I will meet Daniel up in Heaven’s core.
I have been where you are now, I know how life gets
depressed by your situation empty pockets
and every thought you entertain contains illegal means to get green
for this American dream
I can relate to that stress I know that times get hard
I started out hustling and latter learned to rob
and my squad for the most part were misunderstood
young dudes confused looking for man hood
I found this in my old file cabinet I sure it has to be at least 10 years old
Violate everything.
Upset all order.
re-stack the cards,
deal me to a world
where my id rules,
rid me of what cares
about right, wrong
or you.
Or it's gonna kill me.
I'm Ahab.
Says Stub,
"he's got what some folks ashore call *
a conscience; it's a kind of Tic-Dolly-row
they say--worse nor a toothache."
Way worse than a toothache.
Covers tangled,
pillows scrunched, stripped of cases,
sheets unfitted, as if
from last nightmare
the bed was never made.
And you want to relate to me,
but not in the way I want
you fill your need with me
not mine with you--
--how your bed's made
I'm afraid
my need's a black hole
you'll disappear
I should steer away.
You make me feel
a lot less empty,
even treat me
with care.
I should feel lucky
to have
this much of you,
This black-hole--
Ahab's obsession--
destroyed him, his ship,
and his whole crew.
And this--toothache
--I should feel so lucky
You want to relate to me,
and I want you to.
Where this ship's sailing,
it's been a pleasant cruise.
Why I'd steer it toward disaster
with everything to lose--
God, help me.
There's so much better to pursue
than deep dark obsessions,
black holes, whatever
I'm drawn to.
You asked last night
if I was still feeling crazy.
Well, I think I'm through

Relate
I’m caused by you
In relation with you
I remember when we were in jail
We did to our best but we fail
Are we now the tail?
In development to tale
I behave as you do
I react as you do
I reason as you do
So, like father like children
Like birth like death
Ask me to do what we do
My rolled face with toned tallness of blackish
People do call me endearing as the beauties in my round eyes
Truth known by the speaker
Pains known by the client
Talk to me the truth
Not of Shimbolyo and Nshimbe of Achebe
I believe in what I do not even see
By attractive memories are to what is abstract
I see without eyes
Demonstrating without the influence of my keen skin
Replaying with unvoiced soundless conversation
I’m empty ear likely a deaf being a good listener
I see without eyes
I look like having wings
To adhere their sins in veins and caves
I admire to stop those calling orphans
Because words obviously gives
Signs obviously directs
I look like having wings
A rock of roles I have
A bundle of thoughts I have
A trust of personality I have
Sway me to trust a prisoner
Sway me to trust a traitor
A rock of roles I have, to keep my status in believe
In a relation
A caption and a valid drupe
Tighten with a rope
Seeing is not listening, as hearing not looking
Can anyone relate, to pain once it begins?
No way to escape fate, the broken record never ends;
Accept now what is, not longing for should have beens’,
What was, is not, what is, what a tragic end;
There never was a what was, its an imagined should have been
My generator will not generate,
My regulator will not regulate,
My carburetor will not carburet,
So I guess I’ll just be……

My oscillator will not oscillate,
The percolator will not percolate,
This incinerator will not incinerate,
There’s nothing to do but meditate!
I will no longer contemplate
About that which I hesitate
To even stop and give debate
AIN’T LIFE GREAT!!!!!
As I reflect upon the mirror, I see past and present
I realize that my past created my present today, This is "Jay!"
Missed opportunity, Fuels a fire everyday
Creating the hunger to grow and think outside the box, Keeps me at bay
Wanting better for myself, Keeps my demons away
As I search inside myself, To find a better way
I conclude, That the person you see here today
Is here to stay, Until my days fade away
Till my soul doesn't duplicate, Making my name
It stops here today, The sun shines even when it rains
Shade Clouds my lane, Helping to reflect my way
Through the suns rays, I stay away
Referencing my mistakes, For that I am made
Words that we say, We feel and we Pray
For the mercy in God remains, Through trials and tribulations we become great!
As we collaborate, A Brother beside his Sister
How we relate seeing things the same, Yet differently,
Till the end "Tiffany!"

A week ago i found out i had control over my dreams
Its kinda crazy if you know what i mean
I live my normal life when im awake
Then i hurry back to sleep is this a mistake
I think you all can relate
When im asleep there is no physical pain
But the emotional pain remains
When im asleep i can do what ever i desire
There is nothing that i cant acquire
Its hard not to cross that fine line
Between what you cant do in normal time
Last night i was super strong and could fly
I jumped off a cliff without having to die
The night before i had a big bag of money
I spent it on a girl her name was honey
I bought me a really nice car
I know that doesnt sound very smart
But its kinda like living in avatar
Unable to Relate
2010
There he sits, across from me
Patiently peeling two eggs
Same lunch each day
Two eggs in between two slices of bread with muster, yogurt, apples, pear
Peculiar is he
Entertaining I must say
Laughter takes over
Reminiscent of the past, common experiences
Experiences not forgotten
He tells the story
Symmetry exposes two pierced nipples
Words he did not expect from a female student
Animated the table continues to recall the early years
More laughter
There I sit smiling, laughing
Unable to relate
A history shed through small “platicas”
Unable to relate
Watching the clock
Time seem far away
25 minutes, a long way to go
Finished with my lunch
I sit and listen
Unable to relate
Questions begin to formulate
Memories, how important are they?
Memories, should the past be brought into the present, future?
Laughter, I cannot relate
Laughter, will I ever be this way?
Aging with everything fading away
No laughter my memories
Home taken way by mother nature
Picked on by those a like, bullied
Cast away, different from you, her, they
Innocence stolen by those who knew better
Unable to relate
Laughter, reminiscent of the early years
Memories, how important are they?
Laughter, I cannot relate
Memories, dreams of another day
Forgotten by the new day
New experiences gone by dawn
Hunting with caution
No laughter my memories
Present marked by the past
Future scripted by the past
No laughing matter the memories
Naked from the waist down, there I lay on the fields
A neighbor’s friend
No explanation, blamed
Unable to relate
Laughter, I cannot relate
No laughter my memories
Body exposed to me
Act reserved for adults, mine at a young age
No stranger or neighbor’s friend; Cousin
Laughter, memories of fun times
No laughing matter the memories
Memories be gone with no return
25 minutes seem a long way to go
There he sits, enjoying the egg sandwich
Reminiscing with friends, colleagues
I sit and listen
Laughter, I cannot relate
I cannot predict, I often miss wit
In subltle sharp twists --
That in words, you show my sublimition.
With sudden jest I remember,
I read Prufrock;
I feel relieved -- at least I can relate.
I feel stuffy and calm;
I feel proud in my limitation.
At least for the time being.
I cannot be "a beacon of light"
I am not a part of that civiliztion,
That "exterminate all the brutes".
I cannot write a paper
And sit in the cooled seminar rooms;
Showing the glowing face to the learned audiance.
I read prufrock
I can relate.
A smile needs no words
It is sweeter than any compliment
A smile needs no sound
It is louder than any extolment
A smile is irresistible
It evokes curiousness
A smile in infectious
It induces smiles on long faces
A smile can hide something
It blossoms over what aches in our hearts
A smile cannot be hidden
It signals every emotion in us
A smile is priceless
It is a fusion of all your senses with your soul
A smile is free
