I Can Relate

I cannot predict, I often miss wit
In subltle sharp twists --
That in words, you show my sublimition.

With sudden jest I remember,
I read Prufrock;
I feel relieved -- at least I can relate.

I feel stuffy and calm;
I feel proud in my limitation.

At least for the time being.

I cannot be "a beacon of light"
I am not a part of that civiliztion,
That "exterminate all the brutes".

I cannot write a paper
And sit in the cooled seminar rooms;
Showing the glowing face to the learned audiance.

I read prufrock
I can relate.
