A Most Holy Vision Speaks in Mystical Tomes
Enchanted colorful images shine ever-brightly from
a wild cosmic fire appearing high in the evening sky.
As people gaze upon these unusually radiant images
there is, at once, a universal sense of calm and peace.
Poets worldwide observing this most unique heavenly
occurrence seize their pens to record all that they see.
As they begin to write what they see, it seems as though
their ink’s like a magical blood flowing through their pens.
As this sacred blood flows freely, the poets write with a
palpable sense that an amazing grace moment is at hand.
The true essence of this divine moment starts as the poets
witness the appearance of God’s Angels in the evening sky.
The poets seek to understand these unbelievable events in
real-time as they appear arrayed against the evening sky.
There’s an angelic message that now speaks fervently through
the wondrous magic of the poets’ pens—pensive and voiceless.
This holy missive canorously echoes visions from past lives,
whilst presenting highlights that speak vividly to future events.
With the past as prologue and the present now in real-time,
the angels’ missive of mankind’s future on Earth is positive.
As poets and other writers observe and record their notes, it’s
clear the cosmic fire is not the “End of Time” fire and brimstone.
Rather, it’s God’s way through his angels to capture mankind’s
attention and to refocus humanity’s efforts in service to others.
The holy missive makes clear that the path to redemption and
forgiveness lies within our own power as we seek to find God.
And that the angels shall always be with us as our souls ascend
heavenward one day on trails of cosmic dust to be one with God.

She loves to
ignore me.
Does she love me?
Yes I believe so, our love
is imperfect -like most, predicated on
imbalance, a victim of
poor timing, but living the old
lie of immortality…..is it really
an untruth? Is it mortal?
Will it one day die? I pray not.
At the end of all of it and everything
-it’s all I can give,
deathless love is rare, I have nothing
greater to offer, a love that will
outlive my life, outlive all things…..
I need to refocus, this doesn’t matter,
you see –she still ignores me.
I think she takes pleasure in it,
she does it so well.
Does she love me?
…..I think so, maybe

When the devil and his helpers swoop in
And you begin to break down
Don’t let that one sin tarnish God’s given crown
As you are bobbing for air so much so that you can barely breathe
Trapped back in his laur as he’s looking at you he seethes
You have to block as it has occurred by distracting your mind
You have to refocus on God’s word and all the true riches you find
All those things that will be so grand
All those things that He has planned
Focus on what the Lord has said
And soon Temptations’ dead
What the devil meant for you you have have left him in kind
Making your heart a little more true and oh the riches you have mined
Don’t let him back in as he keeps knocking all night long
Give Jesus this win for He’s the One who made you strong
Battles are won and lost but tonight declare victory
For losing has such a cost that the effects you can almost see
Do some of your favorite things that will bring Jesus near
Oh the joy that always brings, His love becoming more clear

Worry wonders and doubts
It speculates on the hopes and habits
It ponders all the thoughts and misgivings
It deliberates on the joy and kindness
It even questions the peace and serenity
Worry seeks a heart to attack
A calm to disturb with turbulence
A happiness to disappoint with sorrow
A light to snuff out with a dark thought
Worry drains souls of their pleasure
Pierces the dreams with murky shadows
Destroys the embrace of sweet grace
And sends discouragement into the spirit
Worry is a tool of the devil
Who came to seek whom he might destroy
With his lies and his doom and his despair
Worry is his device, his utensil
The instrument he uses to bring us down
So that we can’t find the faith to reach out
Toward the One who knows all about our worries
And brings us encouragement and reassurance
The inspiration and enthusiasm to refocus
On the promises He gives with His mercy and compassion
The love that arises out of the darkest moments
Love that assures us He will restore and rebuild
Despite whatever the worries might foresee
Worry is blind to the fact that
His love can diminish every doubt
Relieve every pain, erase every cloud
With the rising of His Son, His light
The One who will always work things out
Matthew 6:26 (KJV) Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Among watching forbidden archangels saunter sullen paths
I reflect mandragoras through evanescent gleams of orrery elegies,
whirling into significant distraught dizain stanzas of my obsidian paint
in halcyon hopes my expressive ekphrasis will bloom alongside aureate tulips.
Under opal moons shading dozens of writhing languid lavenders of mauve,
a hushing zephyr cuddles lost villanelle verses of my nocturne lilt heart
shaping obsidian thorns of withering torment into eloquent paradelles
gifting me picturesque promises of prospering ovary triumph over obsidian odes.
O, how I dream vermillion serenade reveries of idyllic illusions
whilst pouring out serpentine verses in poise patterns of bewitching ballads,
perhaps yearning celestine fantasies to be painted in aureate ruby recognition
are as asking one to grasp glazing pearl stars under an elixir eclipse.
Upon scrolling night's interrogating introspective sighs of myrrh melodies
I refocus labyrinthine lilacs of drizzling determination through ethereal epics,
for it is through periwinkle poetry I've learned to set palindromes forward
and through vignette vellichor musings I'll leap amethyst acrostics.

Dramatic Verse
Sometimes I wait
Wait for something external
Till I realize
That’s not what I want
So I refocus
I listen to the silence
To wonderful loving silence
Full in itself
And I realize the wait
Was for its appreciation
Calling attention to itself
Calling out for praise
And utter admiration

So hard to keep moving sometimes,
Trying to keep my life in line with you Lord.
So many things trying to take me away from
You my first one, my steady one whom loves
Everything that is me.
Like a tree that is planted next to your life
giving waters, I will refocus and be content in Thee.
Any extra blessings are meant for me to pour
Out and bless others with.
Yet my reward is already with me, and that
Reward is You!

Ballad
I make a cup of coffee, and bathe in its perfume
And add some chocolate cookies til my diet must resume
I pray the photographer doesn't see that I have gone food rogue
Cuz like he said, "Chubby chicks will never grace a page of Vogue."
I'm careful because my Chanel gown is white and never sold
In the kind of stores where I can shop, or any shop, I'm told
And very soon they'll call me back to set to vamp and pose
Hair perfectly coiffed, make-up en fleek and Louboutin on my toes!
"I've chipped a nail," I mumble and three stylists all jump
And while they're at it one applies some hairspray with a pump
A gorgeous man in best black tie approaches me and grins
"I am your partner for this shoot. Cheri, you are so THIN!"
He takes my hand and helps me up, I teeter on the heels
He holds me close and says he needs to take me for some meals.
He bends his face and parts his perfect lips to plant a kiss
But instead I feel a liquid spilling and wonder "What is this?"
Loud noises filter in my brain and break my daydream's hold
The liquid was my coffee spilled and sickeningly cold
I grab a paper towel to wipe it off my kitchen floor
But being nine months pregnant makes it hard to do, for sure.
I refocus on the noise I hear and realize it's my boys
Two-year-old triplets ready to trade a nap for toys.
I pass the hallway mirror, see my hair a mess, I'm round
Not the model from my dream, but it won't bring me down.
I walk into the boys' room and all three reach out to me
And the hugs and kisses given no French model could exceed
I love my boys, I love my life, even in a cheap stretch jean
But still and all, I did enjoy my lovely little daydream!

High School was not my favorite place
Though I had fun, I often felt out of place
Most of what I learned I would never use
Some of what I learned I put to good use
If your strong point is a love of learning
Work hard and keep that focus burning
Since school is never out forever
It's time to refocus your endeavor
Clearly on the more important things
Of the truth and all the joy it brings.

How many of us today have thought of the true meaning of Easter
It is not the Easter bunny, eggs or candy
It was Jesus giving his life so we humans can have eternal life
Maybe we need to refocus on what our mortal lives are really about.

Life is occasionally called a "Rat race" for a reason...
There are times we need to step back
from life's ubiquitous and toilsome menageries
reflecting on where we are in relation to
our hopes, dreams, goals, and plans.
In sum, we need to refocus
to understand.
And remember
who we are deep within our own skin,
hearts, minds and souls
or whatever it is we think of as being
a meaningful member of this universe
with an incalculable multitude
of thoughts and memories
to have and hold...
While having to decide which road to take
when there's a fork just up ahead
we ought to take a deep breath in
and feel the wind
as it begins to overtake
tension deep inside our minds, seeking
a new paradigm
and letting go of what we know
or what we think is true...
and closing our eyes to realize
the road that we’ve been looking for
is right in front
of me and you.

“A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE”
“America— fill me in on your new vision
Wake me up from indecision
Help me trust your mighty wisdom
Show me how to question questions, and lead the way to contemplation
Uncertainty about your future is like opening your eyes wide in the dark
Closing them hard and opening them again—
To be blinded by sparkling silver dots
When you refocus, you are blind again, but at least, somehow, briefly you saw the light
The difficulty in the pursuit of changing life circumstances, involves an honest and real look at the Wild Side of our nature-
The ability to throw caution to the wind with no guilt -- no regrets
Most of life has been written, talked and acted out and then filled with doubt
Grass seems greener over here—even the fog of it all keeps me clear
Perhaps the conspiracy to explain the success of this culture is… immediacy
Here today, gone tomorrow because yesterday’s following was nothing more than an implement--
Social rituals seldom involve the re-hashing of clichés or approval addiction motivation
This little ‘pit-stop’ we call life—that we take so seriously- worry about…
is nothing but a an opportunity to enjoy our adventures in a limited time frame compared to promised
Eternity
It is only in the appreciation of passion and taking steps of Faith that we can truly say:
WE HAVE WALKED ON THE WILD SIDE

A HUMMINGBIRDS TALE
I rode upon a Hummingbird’s wings.
There were no ropes, there were no strings
In a slow blink of an eye,
we slid across a windless sky
arriving before a open flower
like rain dropping from a springtime shower.
We stood still hovering before some captive scent.
There was no cost there was no rent,
as nectar flowed through hollowed tongue
and pollen flaked upon her beak
she moved but little, but soon would seek
another flower’s seductive call, although it did seem
that time stood still at the space in between.
And then like a laser beam she zoomed on her way
to glean the sweet juices of a fresh new bouquet
And as I watched in prodigious awe,
I tried to refocus on what I just saw.
My thoughts grew alive in a meditative muse
in a haze my mind would ask quite confused
how 60 flaps per second in logic could ever occur
as a billow of feathers surged forth like a blur
scouting out a aroma that would claim her attention
Oh by the way, did I ever once mention
While alone with my hummingbird I sensed
a whisper from above
was guiding his creation with mystical love.
