Best Reason To Stay Poems

Butterflies

Clouds passing away swiftly.
Like the desert sand.
Laying peaceful on the ground.
Seeing the worlds silent stand.
Breathing faintly with no sound.
While my life slips back into Gods hands.
Counting each beat from my heart.
Leaving behind this shallow land.
Taking one last glimpse in my eye.
Something came to carry me away.
Without giving me a chance to say goodbye.
Not wanting a reason to stay.
Gliding away into the blue sky.
Fully departed from my body where I lay.
My life in front of me revealed.
Blessing all those days I would pray.
God protecting me with his shield.
Kept his promise to take me back one day.
Now I am back where I belong.
Pass the horizon of the ocean sky.
Living among the butterflies.
Reunited with my love ones.
Who where also carried by butterflies.
For you I will wait beyond the sun.
Somewhere deep inside the skies.
When your life on earth is done.
You will also be carried by butterflies.

If for some reason you are carried of by bats.
It is your own fault.
You will be put in a dark cave with the rats.
All alone locked in your own vault.

Premium Member Steeped In Virginal Dreams

Knowledge gained liberates or mutilates.
Ramifications of reality’s realm reached
make your insides want to abandon the body ship.
Rocking back and forth as you hurl dry acidic pain
expelled by the force of shell shocked lucidity:
You’re not good enough to be loved.

Breathing in is treason.
Your heart demands release of life’s lease.
On the kitchen floor
crumpled dreams drag to prostrate form.
Alone…..
Every reason to stay is obliterated.
Ascorbic failures scream.
Heart blood transforms to salty rivulets.
Self-loathing usurps the throne of belief.
"Appeasement sacrifice,” it sagely suggests…
"Your life!"

Relevant Reasoning...
For someone for whom love is cell oxygen
grey matter food
supreme soul sustenance,
life without full bodied Love is death.
Might as well...

Cowardice cackles and goads….
The cut isn’t deep enough.
Red streaked line mockery of mental hell feels
abhorrence breathing between the sobs
that one hears …
No one hears

Troubled mind has drained desirability’s delight.
Not strong enough to live not strong enough to die,
you are spent…
negligence purged.
Silence begs to benumb,
yet a reminder remains.

The thorn of truth finds a home.
Embedded in my side,
it won’t be denied.
Removal immuned
it is unseen by naked eye-
exposed to the naked heart.
With every movement of love making
matrimonial mattress yet exudes
the faint scent of virginal dreams...
Pain permeates

It digs in deep.
Nothing will change.
YOU cannot change.
You are unlovable.
You're troubled and troubling brain
takes beauty down to notch of insane.

Give it all away.
Lavish and ravish.
Obsessively bid for love
while you auction respect away,
but herein is the cursed truth:

You are not good enough to be loved.
You never were.
You never will be.

I watch the rain flow backwards,
back up into the sky.
I was soaking wet
and now I am dry
All the moisture is gone,
sucked up from the ground.
Reversing rain,
it makes no sound.

The flowers cry,
tears joining the rain
As the moisture is lost,
do the flowers feel pain?
Their colors exhaled,
only dust remains.

The trees look angry,
gnarled branches are bare.
Colorful foliage no longer there
Leaves like breath,
have blown away.
The birds have left,
no reason to stay.

The world we know,
reaches it's end.
Back to the sky,
life's blood ascends!
With each droplet,
we make amends.
Back to dust,
we do descend

Our crimes are many,
the earth cries out for blood.
We become part of,
a different kind of flood.
Now rejoined to the earth,
us foolish men of mud.

Questions answered,
as we rise from the dead.
The Earth is restored,
by rivers of red.
Fountain of life,
no more need for rain.
True Joy makes way,
ending human pain
Blessed are the forgiven,
God mercifully reigns!

Waking in a garden,
within a city of light.
We are clothed in garments,
of brilliant white.
Sins now forgotten,
like dust blown away.
Night and darkness,
replaced by this new day
Gifted new bodies,
we're no longer just clay.
God's promises are kept
He has the final say!

Falling To Fading

Help
I've fallen and I can't I can't get up
Not literally but mentally
I'm falling further down

Help
I'm fading away
I have no reason to stay
Lost more and more each day
I'm fading into nothing

Help
I was falling but i hit the bottom
Now i'm fading
Slowly dieing away

Falling to Fading

Glory

Lying in a heap face down on the floor.
No reason to live just don't care anymore.
Nothing really matters no reason to stay.
Need some relief, take the pain away.
Dozens in my life but I'm still all alone.
Going thru the motions just another drone.

The touch that I felt lifted me up.
Felt like God's glory filling my cup.
The passage I read turned me around.
Lifted me up put my feet on the ground.
I knew at that moment I was okay.
My life wasn't over I needed to stay.

Now here I am spreading the news.
The life God gave me I'll no longer abuse.
I'm sharing my life telling my story.
Using myself to shed light on God's glory.
I'll never forget what he's done for me.
So open your heart and you to can be free.

You

As I wake every morning to the sound of no you
My heart falls away.
I need you in my arms
My life
My soul has no reason to stay
Youll never know how much I love you
Youll never see your place in my heart
Youve touch me like only angel could
This is not your fault
I still dream about you every day
and wish to have you in the worst way
But we are so far apart.
So as I lie down tonight I think only of you
Your smile and your love
has made me a foul.

Your smile has made me.

You

Cindy

Peroxide blonde and covered in petals,
Bleach kills flowers - She’s less softener than metal
A body rooted in pride, trying to run, Jackal and hide.
There’s some double entendres, catch them if you can,
There’s something about her, try to find it, you’ll both be damned.
To Cinderella she’s her own step sister,
Crying out for love, afraid of those who’d listen.
Just someone out there longing for a cause in existence,
Just someone out there, longing for a reason to stay persistent

Premium Member The Reason

You came to me,
in a dream- perhaps in reality
I am not sure how
this truly came to be -
darkness becomes light,
day sparkles so bright

You are the reason,
my reason to stay

Tears are forever locked away -
so hold me this way
in my night, in my day
in my dream, in reality

Whispers like a melody,
only for me- and I don’t know why
I don’t understand why,
so I softly sigh

Again and again,
and I realize then

When love echos upon the skin,
touching me
it takes the breath away
softly and slowly
you take my breath away

So hold me this way
in my night, in my day
in my dream, in reality

You are the reason,
my reason to stay

You came to me,
and you have taken my breath away
- a heart may not know
how this came to be

Tears are locked away -
forever locked away
so far away

Because, You have become the reason,
my reason to stay

Cloud 9 Redefined

never again...
finally you can let go
no more pain
no more sorrow
no more suffering
not for you
it is your time

you can’t live your life in regret
you can’t give up your will to fight
when you feel like all the hope you had just disappeared
you gotta struggle to make it to the light
it’s on the other side, just beyond the darkness
just beyond the last bitter goodbye
it awaits you just beyond the very last tear you cry
death is just a part of life
this will be the last time she will ever have to go through the pain
this will be the last time she will ever have to stick that needle in her veins
never again will she have to hear her son ask why as she turns and walks away
wondering if this will be the last time she will ever get to see his face

for the very last time
she doesn’t have to keep fighting to survive
no more praying for her wings to grow one day so she can learn to fly
for the very last time he can tell himself this what i’m here to find
had to find a reason to stay alive
this is cloud 9 redefined

he spent his whole his god damn life
looking for something that didn’t exist
when he lived and breathed for the poison he crave
how can you ever find true happiness
nothin mattered in the world but the drug
and he lost all hope he would ever be free
he was ready just to end it on that night until a friend called and needed a G
then it happened in the blink of an eye, when he walked through that hotel door
he was looking for a quick fix just like her and that night turned into 4
four days and nights they spent in love as they both hit one more time
they were both found dead in each others arms overdose up on cloud 9

Do you remember when a day felt like a year
and stealing from the cookie jar was the biggest crime?
We'd gaze up at constellations, both far and near,
whilst catching fireflies, come May or June ... wasting time.

And stealing from the cookie jar was the biggest crime,
knowing heavenly eyes were watching from the clouds.
Whilst catching fireflies, come May or June, wasting time;
never letting dreams be dreams --- yet look at me now!

Knowing heavenly eyes were watching from the clouds,
adrift, I became, refusing to let go of childhood,
never letting dreams be dreams. Yet look at me now -
trying to find the conclusion to the phrase: If I could ...

Adrift, I became, refusing to let go of childhood:
a time where no matter what, we were better together.
Trying to find the conclusion to the phrase: If I could,
but no use, I'm in a cocoon, fearful of the weather.

A time where no matter what, we were better together,
gazing up at the same holes to heaven, finding comfort.
But no use, I'm in a cocoon, fearful of the weather,
afraid my tears will turn into a monsoon, causing hurt.

Gazing up at the same holes to heaven. Finding comfort
by looking up, because there was no other way.
Afraid my tears will turn into a monsoon, causing hurt,
sitting, waiting, wishing, for a reason to stay.

By looking up because there was no other way -
just the nighttime sky, hanging so high, and you and your heart.
Sitting, waiting, wishing, for a reason to stay
in the present. My little girl takes me back to the start ---

Just the nighttime sky, hanging so high, and you and your heart;
we'd gaze up at constellations, both far and near.
In the present, my little girl takes me back to the start:
do you remember when a day felt like a year?

No Reason To Stay

No Reason to Stay

I had so much love for you
But you simply walked away
I was like a bug beneath your shoes
My love for you no reason to stay

You had lots of money to burn
And women falling at your feet
You were the toast of high society
Your life, your lovers, oh so sweet

I finally went on with my life
Got married and settled down
I had three lovely children
Products of the love I found

I buried my husband a year ago
All I wanted was to have him with me
He loved me the way I had loved you
His love for me a wonderful sight to see

It was just last week I saw you
It had been so many years
I still thank God every day now
Because your leaving caused only tears

The money you had to burn
Was no longer yours anymore
And those women at your feet
Are scattered to the wind times four

Your eyes were all puffy and old
You had lost that polished glow
Of the rich and well groomed man
And the smart high step now was slow.

I turned away from you
And simply walked away
You weren’t like a bug beneath my shoes
But there was no reason for me to stay

Premium Member Letting Go and Walking Away

There's nothing left, no reason to stay.
I know it's time to walk away
Never again will you make me cry,
I 've found the courage to tell you goodbye.

But first there's something I must do,
collect the last memories of me and you.
I need to find an empty box,
one I can seal with tape and locks.

I need to put away so many things,
         pictures, cards, my wedding rings.
valued keepsakes, I used to treasure,
the sight of them brings me no pleasure.

I should just throw this stuff in the trash
watch it burn until its turned to ash.
But in my mind there'd still remain,
those bits and pieces that caused me pain.

In the box is all that's left of us
of a marriage covered in cobwebs and dust.
I'm letting go and walking away,
but I've decided the box will stay.

I've no need of reminders of what we once had,
those insignificant remnants of a life we shared.
Put it in bed where I used to lay.
It's heartless like you. That's why I'm walking away.

               *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

"...and in the end, letting go was a lot like falling in love.
I had to learn to say goodbye to the one who gave me
the courage to say hello."

Labor Day

It is Labor Day
I am paid not work
but what am I to do
the festive trimmings are not attached
so the perk is an useless quirk and
my boring schedule quickly fills in the gaps
as usual, my alarm sounds at 6am
the coffee maker perks at 6:15am
my rested body flings away the covers
I watch the Today show while shaving
fetch the newspaper, quickly scan the headlines
wait, I have more time my curiosity to prime
but the dog is on his normal morning schedule
so I speed to the door, his bladder to mollify
no fancy holiday breakfast awaits in the kitchen
so, on cue, I grab an egg, poach it, down some juice
my family sleeps on through the holiday mirage
my engine is in overdrive, but where to go
no parades, pageants append this vapid day
but there is no reason to stay at home either
no arriving relatives to amend the boredom
still, I have one day's free pay to spend
maybe, I'll take the car to the wash
nah, that is a weekend ritual
perhaps, I will canvas Pro Bass Shop
nah, the drive is longer than my work commute
OK, I will stay at home and be a utilitarian
I can finish trimming the bedroom shutters
but wait, I am out of that flossy white paint
and didn't my wife need the car for her
annual holiday shopping spree
I could re-mow the lawn to give it
a manicured look, but nah
to labor on Labor day is too oxymoronic
so I curl up in front of the TV
finish watching the Today show
contented with the lofty notion that
I am being paid to while away the day

Premium Member So I Fly

...... Here I fly ....
Do you know why
Have no reason to stay
Going home today
Lighter than air
Not a care
Cause I dare
Yesterday lies behind
Tomorrow is out of mind
What lies ahead
The love I will be fed
Flying foward
Ever towards
Past the horizon I go
It's all I know
Past the clouds in the sky
So high
.. I fly ...
A never ending flight
Beyond sight
Like a bird flying free
How that would be
Break earth's binding tie
So high
I dare to fly
... Set free ...
What wonders I see
Flying beyond tomorrow
Towards the land of no sorrow
Towards my new home waiting
Cause I didn't spend my time hating
My soul is now free to fly
Never to die
... No reason to cry ...
My wings are just carring me home
Done is my time to roam
Past what lies behind
Cause I know what I'll find
Peace of mind
So I fly
.... Ever so high ....
