I’m a young boy
A single mother’s son
I’m a young beach beaten by a tsunami
Sent by an undersea earthquake delivering ripples of death
Carrying my mother and hers out to sea
Ravaged sands asking the sunset to reveal the secrets of the sunrise
I’m a father to a wonderful child
A beautiful wife’s husband
I’m the love in each rain drop of a gentle rain
Nurturing arid hearts with the moisture of my words
Watering seeds of the future with hope
The catalyst for the magic of spring
I’m a teacher
A Painter
I’m the strike of a snake
My fang: a pen’s nib full of black venom
Poisoning compressed cellulose pulp;
The anti-venom: beautiful words
Administered through the ink gracing the surface
A student of verse

Our mind and its write
We do unto others

They allow us to write
No deliberation for crass
A lovely poet who wrote his mind
Its his to applaud
And for us to be kind
Read and dissect
As we interpret his say
Poets like Raul
Are here every day
So what ever he writes
On any given day
His freedom to express
In his own way
His feelings and thoughts
Are entirely his say

He did not misjudge my heart

Raul Mondesi is back from wherever he’d been hid
Storming into the Big Leagues and making another bid
But he played over a decade ago
Guess for me time hasn’t gone slow
And the rising star this year is Mondesi’s kid

Ebony reflections cast
Shades, mixed grey, upward

the barren reflects
winter sits at water's edge
mossy stones don't move
Shedding the dry life
Awaiting the new life, reborn
Forever in green

Liquid lasers cut
moist verdant patterns into
refuge for the soul.
Buck panting, gurgling
blood filling his lungs, run down
steep slope, MUST escape...

Be like God, look inside.
Let love flow; watch joy abide.
Tupac’s rhyming brightens sorrows.
Rapping beats to famed masterpieces.
Singing the wisdom he learned from the streets.
