Rabbit Don'T Run

My shy moth eyes
were attracted to the beauty of your flame
The pleasure of knowing you
was worth the risk of me feeling the pain
From the hurt burn of you leaving ...
a house of mirrors with no image of you within
I always knew this day would come,
certain, like the rising of the sun —
Beautiful rabbit you would wanna run

Timid, nervous ever ready to flee
The mirror of reflection
would always set your fear in motion
Numbed by the booze,
paralyzed by the pills
Gave you enough courage to stay still ...
but, only for so long

Beautiful rabbit on the run,
afraid to face
the demons you’re running from

When the face of reality would sober in,
then the cracked mirrors
would leave your bleeding heart sobbing
So many lovers before me
handed you jilted tissues
for your self-esteem issue tears
Wiping the candle mask of your promiscuity,
cold wax let you know when it was time to flee

Beautiful rabbit you on the run,
wielding your body like a weapon
Beautiful rabbit giving the foxy bullet stun,
using love like it was a loaded gun

Beautiful rabbit on the run,
marred habits has disfigured you
Ugly memories you can’t let go of,
scarred flesh melted by an abusive flame
Leaves you often holding a gun,
ready to make your last rabbit run

Beautiful rabbit, don’t run ...
beautiful rabbit lay down the gun

It was the loss of your gorgeous butterfly wings,
which so attracted me to you
I saw the beauty inside others never knew,
the vulnerable side you kept hidden from view
The trauma of your lovers no longer wanting you,
made the truth of the silent phone too painful to hear
And the vanity of rejection you use to give,
is the emptiness you are now forced to live with
Lonely, emotional catacombs you weepingly prefer;
the Before portrait on your wall, I never saw her
Tragic soul went bed-hopping down the rabbit hole

Beautiful rabbit, don’t run ...
beautiful rabbit put down the gun
Beautiful rabbit, I desperately desire you,
let your marred heart be warmed by this truth
Beautiful rabbit, don’t run ...
finger the safety between my loving arms
Beautiful rabbit, don’t leave this way ...
burn the suicide note in the fireplace
Beautiful rabbit, don’t run away
Stay here with me ... please stay
the rest of your enchanted cottage days

The Rabbit and the Fox 20 Line Ballad

~~ The Rabbit and the Fox ~~ 20 line Ballad
The Rabbit and the Fox
The Rabbit and the Fox are here
go down south, to Australia
They have a bounty on the Fox
Bring in his skin they’ll pay ya

Myxameatosis germ warfare (first ever)
Just for the Bagman's bunny (our ww1 war crazed soldiers lived on rabbit in solitude)
Old Rabbit got mattry eyed
It really wasn’t funny

Great depression in the 20s
We lived on lovely rabbit
skins made the Slouch hat
Our soldiers wear, our habit (fur felt made the hat)

The master took the Rabbit (Squatters said plague)
No more free feeds for us
So we started eating of his sheep
Become a bit nonplussed

They brought another virus out
To kill off outlaw rabbit
But bunny still gets about
The Fox your hens will have it

The Red Rabbit

Across from this municipality by the bay

I silently stand here

Looking deeply upon the open waters

Currents that make there way

Beyond the moon reflecting tide

The colourful lights....

Stillness drowns, the sounds all around

What a pretty montage, the skyline seems

Before my searching eyes, these images....

Turning inward, toward the depths of my mind

This quietness of floating, through time

With these metal laced wings

Weighing my spirit, to this place!

Caught within a world that I have never belonged....

But oh how it looks so lovely

Such portraits upon the wall

Except for these ones here

In black pearl frames; blank....

Center stage; as they stare back at me

Fireflies with fangs, swarming above the waves

On their way atop the jangled, turbid turquoise sea

Towards the glitter and the dreams

In the nighttime....You stand there?

Until one day you finally find

Reality....

Is but an illusion

Played amid varied and disappearing shells

This flicker of light; this vapor of sight

Beautiful chords of enticing pastel shades

Vanishing behind, a fog shroud mist....

These turning currents; which sweep towards the dissertings despair

With invisible brush strokes; charcoal

Splattered upon this absorbing canvas

The crimson crawl; changelings, like a disease

Clingling shawls....

Turning bright to bitter red

While the concerto plays on, its joyous song

And metal laced wings, fall from me

Beyond the skydome, of tangible tides

As poison basted water lilies....

Beckoned beneath the solidago; smiling

Pointing to all their pretty pictures

Before the fireflies with sharpened fangs

Hung their veils....

Upon the black pearl frames; blank

Chanting their songs, alluringly, to them all

As the splash of fallen things, fell; set my soul free

A new tune to compose, that shall never fade, away

While looking across the panthered purple waves, towards the city

Tides turning from arcane blue, unto another hue

Now rising....

Rap like Rabbit battle Rap

Livin by the beach and baby life’s good
Not stuck in a rut or in a crummy hood
I’m writing tight rhymes like you know you should
Or like you thought you would
No like you wish you could
But man you ain’t got no wood
Your actions so sloppy n soft
I’m holdin the trophy aloft
Yeah my critics they all scoffed
But my paper leads the way
To hear my rap you gotta pay
The pretty skirts all wanna stay
So many I gotta shoo em away

Cause I’m the one you wanna be,
livin the dream and copping cream
Yeah I’m the one they wanna see, they be givin it away for free

Now listen up a while
And you’ll hear my roarin style
Insults on you I’ll pile
So deep you’ll run 8 mile
Like a rascally rabbit
Talkin rain like Charlie Babbitt
Stuttering’s your best habit
Tear out your heart man I’ll stab it
Oops now your bleeding out
But your soulless words don’t shout
Your lips just quiver n pout
Man... I know what your about

Cause I’m the one you wanna be,
livin the dream and coppin cream
Yeah I’m the one they wanna see, they be givin it away for free

Look at you your a disgrace
Tears a runin down your face
Can’t keep up with my hectic pace
No I won’t show you no grace
Cause now I’m free flowin fast
Like I’ve had a wicked blast
And your junk is still half mast
Oh Man your moments past
Now this is kinda tricky
But your Calvin’s Kleins are sticky
Man I’m just takin the Micky
Out of your sweet little dicky

Cause I’m the one you wanna be,
livin the dream and copping cream
Yeah I’m the one they wanna see, they be givin it away for free

I can’t help but be like this
My arrows never gonna miss
And when you do throw out a diss
I’ll grin or smile and blow a kiss
Cause you can’t touch me dog
Girl on your arm looks like a hog
Girl on mine’s so hot theirs fog
Your starin speechless your agog
I got the paper, chicks and words
You can’t even find a use for verbs
I bet your smokin chockin on herbs
I’m clean n mean, mind undisturbed

Cause I’m the one you wanna be,
livin the dream and copping cream
Yeah I’m the one they wanna see, they be givin it away for free

I crouched behind the tall grass growing
Spied a sly fox galloping towards me
With rapid breath, his ears held high
A hanging tongue, red eyes were glowing
He was hunting....he was wry
I watched him hunt, ...in tall grass growing

I knelt behind the tall grass growing
Saw the rabbit cower lowly
Looking for a rabbit hole
A place to scurry....he must hurry
A rabbit bracing,...hearts were pacing
My own heart was pounding, racing

I hid behind the tall grass growing
Watched the sly fox snatch the rabbit
A witness to the course of nature
I felt the darkness cloud the picture
Overcome by grief and sadness
I sat upon the tall grass growing

I stood up in the tall grass growing
Knowing of the force of nature
I must leave now.....I will grieve now........somehow my own tears are flowing

she tricked him,
she baited her,
her soft steps,
leaving no trail,

when she ran off,
the only thing they saw,
was her,
fuzzy bunny tail,

her intentions were hidden,
a clever disguise,
masked beneath,
her evil human eyes,

she was determined,
to take them all,
the big ones,
but especially the small,

after all, who could argue,
when the bunny wiggled her nose,
a carrot for them,
hidden beneath her clothes,

mesmerized and unaware,
sisters and brothers,
she didn't care,
all caught in her bunny lair,

her cute disguise,
surrounded her designs,
spoiling them,
she hid maggots and flies,

hopping away,
claiming no such tale,
the bunny thinks,
she covered her trail,

but children grow up,
no longer believing,
in fairy tales so ugly,
or a sister so deceiving.

I went to check my rabbit hutch
The bunny wasn't there
I searched around for hours
Found it on the rocking chair

Rabbit Dna

Hare trigger instincts
always served Roger well
He had an oh, no-no lettuce nose —
a hyper-keen sense when to leave
Roger was rabbit good
at knowing when
to skip out on his responsibilities

Before bedtime stories
would end afoul, he could always tell
the impending sour cabbage signs —
The ***** scent in the air pregnant with crisis ...
	rabbit feet had better odds,
than a roll of the dices

Women said he was a tricky daddy dodger,
his friends said it was in his DNA
The court affidavits said his name was Roger,
the summons said he wouldn’t pay

Those hare trigger instincts
always served Roger well
Pearl hip handles, he loved to caress

Hop aboard a bullet train,
when the bad news got belly swell
Twitchy nose rabbit hole escape
	            was his poker face tell

But one determined Alice
didn’t give
the baby carrot carriage subject a rest
Roger got tortoise marriage cold feet,
half-hearted turnip turtle vows
was his delay strategy best guess

Women said he was a tricky parent draft dodger,
his friends said it was in his rabbit DNA
The court affidavits all said his name was Roger,
the arrest warrant said he wouldn’t pay

Roger has good long hare instincts,
he’s Copperfield cool ... a Houdini Blondie
Angel Eyes bad you better not blink,
every time your back is turned, he gon flee
So deadbeat ugly he’s just a Tuco-hearted rat,
a kid welsher ain’t no rabbit doubt about that

The rabbit in his blood,
is simply hop-along run away DNA
He love to cabbage patch play,
but he hate to bacon lettuce pay

Women said he was a tricky daddy dodger,
his friends said it was in his DNA
The court affidavits said his name was Roger,
the summons said he wouldn’t pay

Roger don’t like
looking at paternity suits,
it just give him the Dodger blues

Rabbits don’t care
to stay in one place too long ...
in a standstill
That just ain’t how their feet DNA think

And those angry Alices kangaroo purse pouches,
holding those court-ordered papers unfriendly ...
they be pushing the Dodger to the brink
Roger’s an absentee parent wearing slipper slouches —
Hopping-mad child support check is an empty
Cassidy signature signed in invisible ink

The Red Rabbit!?

Note: This is not aimed at anyone in particular; surely not humanity!

The Rabbit Hole

Falling inside the rabbit hole..
Falling way down
Endless and bottomless

Deep down within the rabbit hole..
There lies continued depths
Entaglements..
Twists and turns..
Filled with various mazes..
Mazes followed by other mazes..
Spinning in motion
A ball spinning in circilur movements..
Abrubtly changing movements
Openings into other entanglements..

A mysterious voyage..
Entaglements of the unknown..
Astronomical realities
Many entanglements clearly representing many other worlds..
Glancing through the many unknown entanglements.
A glimpse through one entanglement there lies a deep blue sea..
The reflection of the sun hitting the waves
In another there lies a cloudy overcast sky..
With fluffy unique shaped clouds..
Rain showers falling from the sky
An abundance of various worlds all occuring simultaneously..
Different worlds captured in motion..
Life..
Episodes followed by episodes
Channels and frequencies vibrating ..
The channels vibrating ..
Tuning into a radio..
Radio stations galore..
You turn the dial
A different song plays..
When you do not turn the dial
All the songs still continue to play..
Constantly occuring..

Where shall I go deep within the rabbit hole?
An awakening of many worlds..
The breath of life..
Endless and eternal
Entanglements of beautifully magnificent and forever worlds..

sigh ...
there is no shortage
of gloom and doom these days
we are in the midst of something unseen in our time
and the fear and hysteria is palpable
that said, I'm not taking the blue pill ... no way
reality is important, as are fear and caution
those darker things keep us safe
they temper our decisions and guide our courses
still, choice comes down to line-of-site ...
every time I say or do or affect anything
remotely encouraging or positive or optimistic ...
a thick, cold, wet blanket is thrown
the "reality", I am told ...
here's the thing -
I've been in pharmacy and
medicine and science my whole life
and from the beginning of this viral monster
I've been extraordinarily aware of the "reality" of this rabbit hole
odds, numbers, percentages, statistics
trials, results, vaccines, treatments
sobering, to say the least
but HOPE is a reality as well, just as sobering
and while these aged-but-wise
lungs of mine can still push gases
I'll choose to take the hopeful, encouraging, OPTIMISTIC tack
bring on the darkness and gloom
I have been to hell and back a number of times
I know the darkness well
and therein shine the most glorious of suns
oh, I absorb and process and consider all the dark
and cold and discouraging elements of this horrible pandemic
(anyone would be foolish NOT to know the weight of this disease
or understand the deadly seriousness
of all that comes with it)
but sunlight can peep through a wee hole
and it is THOSE rays that will always draw my gaze
life IS hope, from where I sit
and as long as I can type -
as long as I embrace this gift of mine for crafting words
I'll consider it my duty to use that tool
at least in some part
for the promotion of all things shiny
bright, optimistic, encouraging
happy, joyous, hopeful, halcyon, uplifting
heartening, upbeat, inspiring
and absurdly sunny
call me delusional - I've been called MUCH worse
it won't bother me ... much, lol
but ...
this is no fantasy land or careless dream I'm living in
it's simply the brighter reality
that I CHOOSE to see ...
the more hopeful future
I choose to anticipate.

The Secret Life of Jessica Rabbit

The Secret Life of Jessica Rabbit

I’m really not as bad as I appear
Can’t help it if my looks arouse your lust
Inside I’m like a nun with mind austere
So leave off all that gazing at my bust

I have a brain that’ s rated high IQ
Could be rocket scientist for one
Though may look like I’m in a burlesque
I solve complex equations just for fun

I paint pictures of wee bunny rabbits
And then I go and cook granny’s dinner
With frame to get a monk in bad habits
I’m truly more a saint, than a sinner

So as a ‘toonl I protest and I mourn
Not really bad it’s just the way I’m drawn

Toward the end of a book,
we tend to speed up,
in anticipation of the climatic finish.

Yet sadly,
the build-up...
was the part we savored,
on the perfect path
to the right...
final,
and everlasting
word(s).

The beginning.

all the beauty one adores right between the eyes

emerald ferns and fairies, full of fairy dust

all the beauty one adores right between the eyes
chanterelle mushrooms thriving in a rich black soil
emerald ferns and fairies, full of fairy dust
hippogriffs and unicorns, thestral horse's tail

chanterelle mushrooms thriving in a rich black soil
aside a four leaf clover lucking it in plushy style
hippogriffs and unicorns, thestral horse's tail
pedestrians with smiles following the trail

Alice wanders bout the Hatter and the grinning cat
