Beholding aspirations of the marigold sky I sailed
As hushed purple dawn was rising above the bay
Glinting platinum hued tides bouncing off the quay
While the boat turned, in quandary of the unknown,
Cognizant that discarded memories had returned
To quiver bruised emotions on gold dusted ripples.

Was that you, my dear, longingly saying hello
From our quaint cottage on glazed verdant shore
Crooning praises of your glittering rose bouquet
Where gilded rays refracted, sparkling magenta vase
Sitting atop embroidered tablecloth you made,
Graciously standing there in welcoming poise
Happy that you rearranged life, just as it once was,
Having removed all clues of our interrupted past
When penance of remorse sought brand new start.

I recognized ruby vows you sprinkled on daybreak
Bashful, as twinkles of smile glistened your face,
Seductive in whiff of perfume blazing memory lane~
Indeed it was you pledging promise of a new day!

Nothing stirs the blood more than lies

I stand upon sacred ground of honor
Defend the truth with my soul's honest sword
I'll hold character before dishonor
And cut away at any lies discord
Face with an angry voice, all lies that creep
That hides inside minds of a human throng
Who scurries from the truth, for lies are cheap
They sell each lie in darker shades of wrong
This line so sacrosanct cannot be crossed
Nor tossed aside a quaint and ancient rite
I'll face the ugly truth and pay its cost
And live or die indeed, for its true light
I find that lies betray a chosen dearth
And will leave a tarnished stain on your self-worth

The summer breeze whispers goodbye
As leaves quiver to its mournful sigh
 Beneath a somber platinum sky
The perfume from jasmine drifts by

Autumn's quaint allure belies its sullen mood
Keeping its poise as seasons unfold
It's "indian summer" days are winter's prelude
Caught in a quandary between seasons hot and cold

But autumn's visage shows no penance for summer's end
As waves rise with the wind by the quay
The flames of the dying sun soon descend
 As summer slowly fades away

How Quaint It Is

it's like a norman rockwell photo
this quaint little town not far away
where white picket fences stand
banners and flags wave in the breeze
every lamppost tells a tale
of their proud, unforgotten heroes
 faces and stories reclaimed
on the same streets they once roamed
it's a happy little town
that bleeds in red, white and blue
where patriotism still stands
on the edge of every street
of this proud american town
remembering those who gave their life
so they could proclaim their freedom

Quaint Treasure Trove

An ivory castle of delightful dreams
that holds on the memories of lost love.
A token of remembrance, a golden requiem
that is built on the wings of a mourning dove.
Taj Mahal for all lovers a quaint treasure trove.

The Taj Mahal meaning Crown of the Palace is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It is an Embodiment of their legendary love and described by Noble Laureate - Rabindranath Tagore as "the teardrop on the cheek of time."

Quaint and Charming

On the celestial equator she sits.
A splendor to the zodiacal constellation, she is due south.
As starry as he can be, Ursa Major (The Big Dipper) is
     her neighbor.
As her picture unfolds, a spike of grain she holds.

Epithet is the Mother of God.
     Her spiritual bond sanctifies all.
Her tender love is shown,
as God so loved the world.

An astrophysical being is a twilight of beauty.
So astral and metaphysical, she is truly beautiful.
Holding her offerings, she pauses.

A pictorial of exquisite art this woman is.
In moral excellence, she resides ecliptic in the sky.
Virgo, the Virgin, is the most beautiful zodiac sign.

Premium Member The Quaint Flame

Follow the flame of quaint yesteryears.
Turn on your mind and look around the room.
Imagine tepees, dirt floor cabins
speaking history of honeysuckle blooms.

See the Lakota do their Ghost Dance
by the quaint fire of the moonlight.
See the hearth in the slave quarter,
where they sleep from their daily plight.

Sit beside the flame of quaint moments,
when innocence and laughter blessed their lives.
Silhouettes of arms embracing,
foresaw crimson shadows for their eyes.

Here is a native country
human scenes with human tears
by a fire of quaintness passions passed
in the quantum light of years.

Premium Member Quaint Roses

Sarah’s ruby lips were all of a quiver
when she spotted Ted down on the quay
To a platinum blonde he would deliver
a gift Sarah is not yet meant to see

‘Quaint Roses’ is Sarah’s favorite perfume
she’d seen it listed on Ted’s credit card receipt
Sarah’s in a quandary, filled with dread and gloom
at seeing her boyfriend’s such covert deceit

Sarah’s meeting up with Ted and the boys
they’re all planning a trip to Paris in France
In walks the blonde with beauty and poise
she goes and kisses Ted and his pal Lance!

Sarah’s can’t work out what is going on
as Lance’s wife has got short brown hair
She turns around and sees Ted has gone
down on one knee, Sarah’s now fully aware

Ted hands Sarah her favorite scent
which is tied with an enormous bow
and concealed inside this present
there’s a ring with diamonds in a row

Lance’s wife takes off her blonde wig
Sarah’s face turns a deep shade of red
Ted’s delighted that Sarah didn’t twig
Will she pay penance when they get wed!

Quaint Island home

I adore my quaint Island home
Where the blue sea stretches for miles
On verdant hills I often roam
Strolling through lush meadows and stiles

City life does not attract me
I adore my quaint Island home
It’s a place I’d love you to see
On golden sands I can beach comb

Paddling in the waves and white foam
On a glorious summer’s day
I adore my quaint Island home
It is here I will always stay

I should write a poetry book,
perhaps I could write a thick tome
of poems about where I live -
I adore my quaint Island home!

Premium Member Quaint Coastal Setting

We parked on an old quay
Amidst a quaint coastal setting
Surrounded by platinum clouds
Minds soon interpreting

In poise our thoughts now action
Thralled by the essence of her perfume
No longer are we in said quandary
Now down to our birth costumes

Torso's dance in front seat tangle
Steamy windows our canopy hide
Oops! we've gone and hit the handbrake
Into the water our car now rides

Phew! within moments we disembark
Facing the actions of our cahoots
Penance our thoughts now interpret
All a quiver in our birthday suits

Premium Member Quaint Elegy

The cauldron sizzled when she added stink wood twiglets

threw in an old sandal and stirred the pot in elegant poise

When she stoked the fire by the quay of mixed pleasure

the platinum boiler outshone the lighthouse and gave hope

to pirates who filibustered merchants high on foul trade

With a shuddering quiver the harridan inhaled the scent

of frog legs and molluscs stir fried in sea weed and fear

which filled the air with the quaint fragrance of revenge

‘I am a seductress with my sweet perfume second to none

need no cabal or macho clique to induce justice and peace

Mercantile vessels sink to rock bottom where they belong’

The ocean master’s quandary blasted a troubling dilemma

for she was fair and offered one last chance to jump ship

‘Abandon abomination and slavery and join me at the stake’

Penance could be bought with gold coins and honest rosaries

for in this instance the good lady followed hallowed tradition

Once in hell’s heat Satan would absolve evil and godly delusion

roast the perpetrators like marshmallows draped in snake skin

An aroma of violation trespassed between bargains and pleas

and kindly the intoxicating fumes softened agony and betrayal

‘I shall reckon ashes and pulverized bones to the next menu in kind’
