Komorebi

Sunlight dashes through boughs adorned
In autumn’s scent of red orange crimson
Tossing diamonds of daybreak from their limbs
Into the borning air of dawn
To litter the forest floor in clutter of crystal auroras
Playing hide and seek with shadows,
Awakened by the roster’s first blush,
To prance across branches on tip-toes of brindled magic
As the moon and sun, the darkness and dawn,
Change places in daily do-se-dos,
Leaving fingerprints of light, in moments of intimacy,
When fingers of dappled warmth push back shadows
With celestial sighs of radiance
And flutter like a sparkling flute of luminosity
Cascading in ricochets from oak to elm to evergreen
Until gleeful pandemoniums of white fire
Give birth to awe in strings of burnished zephrys
Draped in jubilees through boughs of dawning beauty
Woven in strands of light as sunshine thinks on loveliness -
Decorations of celebration!

Where Did You Go

Where did you go?

Where did you go?
Yesterday you were here,

But now you lie still
Your eyes closed,

Gentle face,
Facing up towards the sky,
Up towards the stars,

I know this is the way of things,
That we must all one day let go!

But still, we cry out,
Where did you go?

Your laugh, your knowing eyes,

Waiting for us,
Welcoming us with a smile,

It seems so clear,
standing here,

so quiet,

No more machines
clicking,
Everything surrendered,

We never knew how much time
was left?

But now we know,
It’s passed,

And as we push back your hair,
We see,

It’s time to
let you
go.

Premium Member Lifting Veils

In the dead of night veils uplift on Mid Summer's Eve,
still a time for a few live sacrifices, so tread warily.
A time when briefly the gates of hell can open
and unworldly things spew forth intent on evil.

Mid Summer Night dreams can come to pass
most oft to those who's hearts are true and pure.
A night of extremes, of evil versus good, and
of the fires of covens and black magic.

A night where Pan himself comes forth
playing his Pipes with gleeful skirls.
Tempting and enticing the unwary souls
with false promises and exciting dreams.

Goddesses of Light dance around in circles
their task to push back the evils of hell
to allow departed lovers to hold their beloved
for a fleeting moment to love once more.

    I am dead and lifeless,
    Cold and of the departed;
Two hundred years of wandering the world,
      Forlorn and forsaken.
I lay in a crypt waiting for awakening,
      And I feel her passing;
She walks close to my resting place this day,
And I feel my hands move and my heart beat.

I must have her sweet blood,
    Oh, I can imagine it on my lips;
I stir within my coffin and open my eyes,
      I breathe her dulcet scent.
My endless pain, existence a nightmare,
      This eternal life lonely;
Full of agony, darkness and deep anguish,
Oh, I moan and push back the coffin lid.

Could this girl be the one,
    My soul mate for eternity;
Standing there in the twilight I watch,
      She carries red roses.
Stopping at a grave of many names,
      And then I am there;
Startled she screams and turns to run,
But she is no match for a vampire man.

Her beauty is surreal to me,
    I embrace her in my arms;
And as I pierce her neck I hear her sigh,
      Oh sweet, the sweetness.
Her blood is like the richest of wines,
      I carry her to my grave;
And place her gently in my own coffin,
This twisted nightmare I will not endure. . .

                                           alone

Premium Member Pigeon Tai Chi

Park of unfenced wildness
densely packed in light infused summer
city folk beat paths of free spirited essence

park pigeons squat, survey seniors
in the grip of Tai Chi
                                    to seize a different footing
                                    orchestrated movement

Pigeons in an uncertain watch
                wait
                anticipating
trusting park folk to feed them
then launch in a flap fury of wings and cooing
to seniors' arms extended, open palms
    Tai Chi posing
    a tableau of food (mis-read)
    open handed offerings?
    absent

bird swarmed,
seniors shriek as in a Hitchcock film
                        their eroded routine
          wellness check thwarted
push back 'gainst a flock,
                    shadowboxing the open air

seniors scatter
take flight in leaps fearful like space walk wandering
re-kindled voltage like lost sex energy lit
              spectacle, in bird-winged fear
when movement's no longer the quiet order
              we control

Reach

You have no poetry in your heart
No appreciation for art
You were born looking backwards
from the start
Even tiny whispers
tear you apart

You blow to and fro
with the slightest wind
you think of stuff but never begin
Is it my sin that makes your heart thin
it looks so substantial
yet it's made of tin

I press a little
you push back
hurting you not my intention
still you think you're under attack
I wish I could remove
that monkey from your back
But he's holding on to tightly
with his hands gripping your sack

Others have left you
lost and all alone
You insist on being on your own
I know, I know
some hurt goes deeper than bone
Tin sounds like thunder
when you bang it with stone
You think it's better to scare them away
so how can you or them atone
You sad lonely little man
apologize, reach for the phone!

Look Up

Hey children! Listen, I miss your zeal.
The world inside your mobile is surreal.
Look up!
See, I have fixed stronger glasses on my windows,
Get hold of your cricket kit, come back on the street,
I miss watching your games.
I won’t mind, smash all my window panes.

Hackneyed messages,
Dollops of unalloyed twaddle
Tides of trifling emotions!
Baby! You are locked inside your mobile.
Look up!
See, the stadium looks so barren!
Without your mischiefs and fun,
Your irritating jibber- jabber and nonstop run.
I won’t mind, come on burst my eardrum.

Your friends, your pictures, games, tweets and stories
You live in a fantasy world, that’s absolutely unsavoury.
Step back into this beautiful life, create beautiful memories.
Look up!
Don’t waste your time and energy.
Live for a cause, get up and push back your lethargy.
Open the notebook of your life,
Fill it with love, fame and prosperity.
No matter what! You shall thrive.
Don’t be a slave to mobile,
Life isn’t a game!
Dear! You have to survive, mobiles exists just to give a little respite!

Pain

Pain.
I feel it again,

I feel The anger,
The hate,
The one thing I so fear,

Controlled it so long now,
The fear is so real,
Can I control it forever?,
The pain that I feel,
My heart beats hard now,
This anger is real,

Fight back the pain,
Push back the tears,
This is not you,
Fight the fear.

The anger inside me,
Dormant for years,
Why does it try to erupt through me,
Causing these burning tears,

My mind races,
To find what I need,
Must get rid of this anger,
This pain that I bleed…

Just please let me find it,
That place in my heart,
The one place untouched,
Unused that one part,
One place kept for someone,
Not only for me,
I need that place now,
Let me find it,
Let me see.

The one place I know,
To make the pain cease,
That place in my heart,
The one place that gives peace,

One day I will give it,
To whom I love most,
Until then its my place,
My sanctuary,
The one place I can go to,
Where I love the most.

Another Time Another Place

Another Time Another Place

Push back the great clocks leavers
With giant Godly hands
Roll over the years
Reverse this tocking tick
And redesign sweet destiny
Find for me
Another fate
In a different time
Where my wanderings
And travelings
Took an uncommon path
To the present

Cut a chunk from my days
And make again younger
Less wise ways
To treat with impetuous
Dreaming
Let me not stay in Europe’s
Home of familiar
Let me instead
Fly the Oceans
To land in America

And there to find the
Mating souls poetry of another
I found in these meanderings
So much later

Give me back the spent seconds
I never noticed
To capture
All this knowing
Lead my feet then quietly
On ponderings
Secret spirit of my lover

Take back my hand

So love burdens your hours
With smiles
And just for the sake
Of love
Fly me
Lead me
Entreat me again
With your sweet destiny
Lift me to America
And by a lake
Of blue grass
Where flutters a fall
Red
In her colour-ed
She waits
Let me find
In another time
And in another face
Sweet destiny
Let me

Find

Premium Member Child In the Mirror

The image mirrored in your stare:
the face of God reflected there.
A child for whom He greatly cares,
He knows the pain you’ve had to bear.

And though those mem’ries haunt your eyes,
the lines on face, the tearful cries,
do not believe deceiver’s lies;
be not a place where promise dies.

Your life is precious; stand and fight,
and persevere through blackest night.
Push back the dark and seize the light,
and always, always, always write.

The liar hates to see you smile;
beware his wiles, avoid his guile.
Rebuff his gaze, o'ercome the trial.
Child, grin, let joy seep in a while.

If ever you're feeling afraid or alone
whatever the reason may be,
please know I'm beside you, to weather the storm.
Just hold on, …… until it's gone.

Whatever the season, we'll face it as one.
Together, we'll climb any mountain that looms.
We will push back the clouds that have shadowed the sun,
till' the storms are gone.
~

Together we can search for tomorrow.
Together we will borrow the stars
They will brighten the dark with the light from above,
and will shine with a promise to bring back the sun.

However we measure the things that go wrong,
we're stronger together, as if we were one.
Love can light up the way,
in the darkest of night,
until the sun and moon turn their lights back on.

~
Whenever dawn arrives without sunshine
or if the clouds come heavy with rain
I'm just a stone's throw away, you can call out my name.
And we'll hold on to each other till the tears are gone.

If ever you feel things are falling apart,
or if ever you're feeling alone in the dark,
just hold out your hand, and I'll toss you a star
There is always a light, in the darkness

Compelled

What motivation drives her infant feet
to push back at the ground she knows so well?
What causes her to suddenly rebel
and with the savage walking world compete?
To pull herself upright on virgin legs -
were years of crawling all too much to bear?
Or was she quite abruptly made aware
that dirty floors are but for she who begs?

How quickly in adulthood we profess
our hatred of the view from there below,
but from the crawl we learn to live with grace:
In knowing well its grave submissiveness,
in wanting to allow ourselves to grow,
we teach our legs to stand firm in their place.

We Can But Try

We can but try, our words let fly, with gifted tongues we shouldn't lie,
fork tongued ones have had there fun, time for a change all said and done,
money no longer number one, realize this by just seeing sun, above your face, it shows your place, in true words deed, lives no disgrace, in all this conscious time and space, there is no time or space to cast ink fake, hiding in unconscious states, because of what you stand to make, the right not granted just to take, see siblings eye's the deepest lake, looks to the soul, see's you're not whole, those places inspiration stole, just become another hole, without justice, do them malice, speak of virtue, bring back bliss, when poets wrote of all things light, of all that's under heaven's sight, the noose is getting far to tight, against evil rope that binds we fight, don't still you're tongues fearing what might, gifted people say what's right, push back darkness forward light, for after all, we can but try.

Dear Barbara

When a man loves a woman:

He smiles and laughs with her.

He respects her and doesn’t try to direct her.
In years gone by, I am certain that there was an ‘air of control’ about me that was uncomfortable to the object of my affection. I’m sure that my father’s DNA kept rushing to the shores of our relationship until you began to ‘push back’ as you identified the problem. I am still not perfect, but I do suspect that my love for you is expressing itself with a greater respect for and far less
intentions on directing you.

He remembers birthdays, anniversaries, and flowers
He compliments, embraces, and test tastes

He does not criticize, but seeks to edify her.
I am not by definition a perfectionist, but most of my life I lived under a self imposed pressure system far too burdensome. It certainly spilled out on you from time to time, reaching intolerable boiling points. Loving you opened my eyes to the flaw, and is now enabling me to build you up, and not critique you.

He talks to her, but listens more.
He listens, not with ears only, but also with heart.
He hears not only verbalized, but also spirit words

He learns to welcome her challenges. Realizing that both of us are made stronger thereby, I have no need for a yes person catering to my every dream and goal. I’m proud to have someone who questions, quizzes, and challenges me.

He believes in her, upholds and trusts in her
He values her friendship above all others.

He waits for her.
I have been one ever prone to be a slave to the clock. I have tended to pressure myself and everyone in my family to bow to “time”. Though the wheels of inflexibility turn slowly, love for my spouse is forcing me to chill, be patient and relax. I am very aware that time neither pauses, delays, nor stops for anyone, but I’m learning to serve and wait patiently for you.

He is not the answer man, but the ‘stand by your woman man’.
He stands with her against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
To him, she is above all, and second only to their God.

A Woeful Winter Dirge

Comes winter with its icy blast
Across the land thy death shadow cast
Life purged by thy soulless wind
With thy sting of death thou doest offend
Thy snowy shroud upon January’s cold ground lain
Bitter tears of crystal ice now rain
Naked branches broken and battered in sorrow doth wail
amid thy northern gales.
Woeful Winter Dirge!
May the southern breeze push back thy artic surge
O Scourge of the seasons release your icy grasp
May the sun shine at last!
