Komorebi

Komorebi 11-8-23 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Komorebi Sunlight dashes through boughs adorned In autumn’s scent of red orange crimson Tossing diamonds of daybreak from their limbs Into the borning air of dawn To litter the forest floor in clutter of crystal auroras Playing hide and seek with shadows, Awakened by the roster’s first blush, To prance across branches on tip-toes of brindled magic As the moon and sun, the darkness and dawn, Change places in daily do-se-dos, Leaving fingerprints of light, in moments of intimacy, When fingers of dappled warmth push back shadows With celestial sighs of radiance And flutter like a sparkling flute of luminosity Cascading in ricochets from oak to elm to evergreen Until gleeful pandemoniums of white fire Give birth to awe in strings of burnished zephrys Draped in jubilees through boughs of dawning beauty Woven in strands of light as sunshine thinks on loveliness - Decorations of celebration!

Dear Sam, This poem shows what a good poetess you are. I had to read it more than once to benefit from its metaphorical richness and excellent imagery. (Deserving of a fav) [I could easily imagine a special collaboration between SK & SA!] ~ Best regards for the festive season // paul

Dearest Susan, what joy your message has brought to me this morning! I am so honored by your fav and grateful for your lovely note! This theme was the catalyst for remembering so many chilly mornings when the sun crept over the hills at dawn and slowly stretched its legs into the darkness of the forest! Thank you for this gracious feedback - doing a little happy dance! So happy you enjoyed this "mystical" experience. Sending big hugs over the mountains back to you! Much love and blessings for a very special Thanksgiving, dear friend! Hugs!! Sam

I hope you are right, Andrea! This image of komorebi, light coming through branches, brought back delightful moments of watching sunlight play among tree branches chasing away night, especially on those rare moments when I am up at dawn to savor their beauty. I hope you will try to write something for the contest. I know it will be special. Blessings and thankfulness to you! Thank you!!

My Dearest Rhyme Time Friend, your golden pen spills with rapture and captures the sparkling, prancing, fiery spirit of "Decorations of celebration" with imagination and finesse. I love sun dapples and how they "play hide and seek with shadows" and how the moon and sun do their daily "do-se-dos"! Wow! I marvel at your use of rich metaphors and enticing, exciting imagery. "Cascading ricochets" of light is amazing to visualize through the beauty of your radiant verse. My sweet poetry sis, another magical stroke of poetic genius from your gifted pen. Warmest wishes sent on enchanting rays of komorebi.. ~Susan

My Dearest Rhyme Time Friend, how your message is like sunlight seen through branches - joyful and utterly delightful! Your words leave a joyful signature of gratitude in my heart. This theme brought back so many memories of sitting beneath a tree watching sunlight weave a spell of enchantment through the branches. It is so amazing to me that the simple act of stopping for a moment to absorb this beauty can so affect us and leave a lasting imprint on our spirits! I am so grateful, sweet poetry sis, that we can share these moments and so happy to have you back in the soup!! Sending you blessings on sunbeams to brighten your day as you have brightened mine along with wishes for a blessed Thanksgiving!

outstanding words and images, Sam. So many beautiful lines that gave rise to celebration: "the moon and the sun...do do-se-dos" I just loved that line. Not sure if your poem is about sunrise or sunset. I love to watch the sunset...your words remind me of those remarkable moments in time. enjoy your day, Sara

Hi Sara! What a wonderful compliment to know this poem brought you back into treasured moments of watching sunsets! Thank you for that precious gift!! I seem to see more sunsets than sunrises being a night owl, but this theme brought me right back into mornings when I watched dawn push back shadows to make room for sunlight! Had to have a little whimsical fun with the do-se-dos!! So glad you liked that image! Sending you my gratitude for your lovely words and blessings to you for Thanksgiving!
