Best Purposeful Poems
Amidst the roaring waves I live and stand
claws bared, waves rise and fall to tear me down;
lashing me with chilling force to disband,
their perpetual onslaught wants me drown.
Screaming tempestuous chill winds storm me
buffeting hard to wipe me out of ground,
winds and waters join hands to howl and glee
with perennially ominous sound.
Storm, sound, slush and shock strikes me everyday
standing not to fight or be bastion,
standing tall, strong, serene I light the way
so ships sail safe to their destination.

As children life is just a game we play,
Learning new lessons as we live each day.
Year after year as we grow and mature,
We sense that there’s more than to just endure.
We must have a purpose and not just fun,
Something worthwhile to pass on when we’re done.
Something to show others, we understand,
Encouraging words to be all that they can.
A guiding light as they live their own life,
Words that will help during struggle and strife.
Tell them of the common things that we share,
Demonstrate our love so they know we care.
Then pass on our truth as we say farewell,
Like teachers taught us, we should show and tell.

a strange sort of flow
comes with thoughts of long ago
spews a welcome glow
nostalgia may just soothe
when mixed with lies and half-truths
Hitler and his ilk
less troublesome than spilled milk
like Wendell Wilkes
slavery a slight bother
endorsed by founding fathers
a happy nation
few trials or tribulations
add more misinformation
ignore racial injustice
force the children to trust us
all Greenwood flattened
pretend it never happened
let's not be saddened
forget all those starved and bruised
that story is over used
no big mystery
we’ll sugar coat history
practice sophistry
let's deny the Holocaust
past transgressions should be lost
need new set of rules
ensure what is taught in school
makes nation look good
our kids do not need to know
repeating the past brings woe

Oh, Lord, imbue me with gratitude and zeal.
Much as the red burst trailed the glistening steel.
As a possible sequel, yielding divinely may reveal.
There is no laziness but an apparent ordeal.
What if I could eagerly grasp the spirits for adoring?
Allow me to depict life out of a stance of meaning.
Sustain me to detain a brilliant guide for the amnesty.
And to their ecstatic vision and quenchless docility.
Will the seeds of cognitive empathy sprout in my mind?
Provide me with the heroic virtue of sensitivity, divined.
Sustain me in my prompt walk with God, the all-powerful.
I worship in the tiny shoes of the burdened flowerful.
Do I need to trust my intensity? And gain pride
Some suffer the ill insight of an internal guide.
May the Lord's goodness utterly define my life today?
A true impetus for massively amending wildly way.
I dearly need to be encouraged for forgiveness.
Ostensively allow me to be infused with faithfulness.
I need being for others a wellspring of graciousness.
God, support me to succeed and ensure progress.

I remember it all
Every tear, every step
When the pain wraps around you
And claims back your breath
How the fear makes you idle
And you start to believe
That darkness will forever
Loom over me
And as you fall through the abyss
Deep into its gloom
Let the shadows caress you
And watch yourself bloom
Though the colours are faded
And you can't bare the weight
Know that all of your pain
Will be useful one day

Family, friends, those whom we've depended upon;Live not up to our definitions, expectations or intentions, but rather blindly on purpose.
Creating faulty hearts out of their shame, mapped within us all to eventually see the same.
Seeing our refelections in others, to become that which has already been.
Professing protection, meanwhile opening unlocked doors, unleashing conflicts without closure.
Clearing points of blind sights unseen, implementing ideas unheard of.
Feelings kept by ourselves internally, externally every breath we take is a windfall of perseverance and longsuffering.
Honestly being in nature openly truthful seems derogatory in its very nature.
A brief chance to believe that in time passing, our spirits will strenghten as a whole nation.
Rekindling our faith in God,in humanity and for all ourselves to find salvation.

Epigram
Her love comes through me imparting a precious gems shine...
I witness this presence warm cold hearts, as if mine...
This feeling shall be yours if you would cross the seen line...
Sisters and brothers your thoughts rush with time...
Take a breath, slow your mind;
Your purpose you’ll find...

Dump Artificial Goals, Live a Purposeful Life!
Do your goals disappoint you, like verse without rhyme,
There's an urgency missing; all go overtime,
Are you jealous of others whose goals play a part
In much larger endeavors that border on Art?
Your life needing direction? Your path lacking light?
Well, these simple directions can help end your plight.
First, consider examples of just what goals are,
They can be very simple, "Go look at a star!"
A bit more complicated, "Mow lawn before noon,"
Difficulty increasing, "Learn words and the tune!"
What do goals have in common? Beginning and end!
And you know if accomplished, no way to pretend!
So then why do some goals seem to carry a glow?
Is it not goals but actors that make them seem so?
Could it be there's a purpose that gives them their shine?
It's like handing girl roses to say, "Please be mine!"
If a boy just laid roses beside a girl's chair,
Without giving her notice, would she know they're there?
A child's purpose might change on a dime, be perverse,
But a grownup's can last for all time, the reverse.
If you're wise, you will know; use your purpose to grow!
When our goals do shine bright, purpose gives them their light!
Those who share our goals make us feel fine (as a friend!)
But the one who shares purpose we dine, (without end!)

Poet's Notes:
The poem says it all, but perhaps it is too subtle. Let me drive its point home. The message is too important for me to leave you mystified if you are?
If reaching a goal disappoints you, the most likely reason is that your goals don't align with your life's purpose. Ah, but if you have not yet committed to a life purpose, or do not know what yours is, how will you ever live up to your potential? Having a purpose in life is what makes you-you!
As a simple example of applying this poem to your life, ask yourself, "However, will I find the perfect partner for me?" The correct answer is not the one you have now, i.e., to find a partner who shares your goals! Instead, look for a partner who shares your purpose!

Purposeful Valentine's Day
Upon tis day,
thee am all set,
Retired in May,
didst nay forget,
Excuses naught,
schedules art free,
Thy bouquet got,
twelve roses see,
Velvety red,
scents to be strong,
Thorns art all shred,
do naught belong,
For fear of tear
all wrapped in silk,
Naught papered wear,
smoothly as milk,
Box chocolate,
assorted all,
Her favorite,
cannot recall,
Lest poked and jabbed,
art thou remain,
Whereto, thee grabbed,
thy likes became,
Thy card filled-out,
thee signed and sealed,
Ere now thee sprout,
start our tryst field,
Thou smile tendered,
memory serves,
Thy smile rendered,
tis well deserved,
Thus thee both rests,
thine rendezvous,
Nay, signs of pests,
toes filter through,
Imposing grass,
felt surreal,
As thee impress,
thy promised feel,
Poet speaketh,
thy love listens,
Thine Sun zenith,
skin now glistens,
Winds anoint thus,
birds entertain,
Her presence plus,
hearts one was twain,
Quote "Trees By Me",
under our tree,
Silent entry,
thus amidst thee,
Angel brushes,
stillness abounds,
Teardrop dashes,
comfort surrounds,
A common thread,
tenuous tugs,
Beholden spread,
flowers and card,
Add thine this be,
boxed chocolates,
Pierced normally,
left favorites,
Thus close day gave,
my Valentine's,
Read, seen thy grave,
between the lines.

Bring me the cane, the old purse;
I’ve journeyed through too many seasons here.
The roads have shifted like dreams I’ve lost,
but my feet still know the way.
No need for ceremonies or goodbyes—
it’s time to leave behind what no longer serves.
The sky ahead will be enough,
and I’ll follow where the horizon leads.

PEACE
Peace, I awoke and flung the truce
Peace, Once I sat engaged and ordering
'PEACE!' I INSIST, 'Yes PEACE!'
I heard a War making, loud angering
PEACE
Peace, I awoke and flung the truce
My passion is the pacifist process
Much I marveled the splendid break
Freedom - freedom - freedom!
Peace, And the inch was singing I fling
Peace, I felt obliged to to admire the offspring
PEACE
I awoke and flung the truce
Eagerly I looked for the peacetime
The peaceful peacemaking ping
PEACE
I awoke and flung the truce harboring love and peace
Peace wonderful purposeful peace
PEACE WONDERFUL PURPOSEFUL PEACE-
