Protesting Ducks

As I ambled around the village pond

I skimmed a stone through reed and frond,

In distress, ducks took flight

Guilty I, to cause them fright.

Protesting loudly in their quacking

My common sense seemed sadly lacking,

I never thought that stone I chucked

Would cause such grief, to little ducks.

Protesting Little Birds

After the snow and the thaw set in, the bigger birds banished all the little ones to the
higher branches of the trees as they fed on nuts and seeds. Big bullies lol!

melting morning

wagtails protest from above

as crows swoop to feast

Protesting Poets

Poets in the pot
Striving not to get cooked
For poverty in the hood
As gotten all hooked
Becoming ingredients of hunger
For all to maw

A new season...
A fresh session...
For the wrong reason...
Recession a new name
Best known to them

Stimulating ideas cocooned
We are the laughing flock
of several rudderless shepherds
Life of a wordsmith activist
Still in the soup stewed

Strands of words
whittled to bullets and pellet
Firing from all cylinders
our pot-belly shepherds
Sorting out issues with Pen
But bullied with hunger

Ohhhhhhh...
Analytical paralysis in full swing
Poetry an apt medium
for language of protest

Bully me not today
With words, we travel to freedom castle
With hunger, we fro back into fiefdom cabin
Bold and grave, brave and spot on
Fighting with the tongue and pen
Shall our tongues be mute
when deeds are wrought
Yet our minds far away
From the battle field

Premium Member Protesting Truth Speaks

I see liberal action out marching
In protest against an elected body
Hypocrites who hold no value
hitting a raw nerve highlights
in their own country of choice

Freedom is being turned upside down
judged and brought into law
corruption against the holy script
criminals dressed as victims attack democracy

Directly as proficient liars are exposed daily
tearing down human rights of the just

Unholy morals has no grounds to speak or act
our liberty is of moral choice
We are silenced to accept certain agendas
under good conduct hidden views against truth
revealing a deep upset knowing it carries hurt

A secret pains honesty
in reverse unfolding one dark spot
at the crossroads
The true cards
if they were laid clearly upon the table
Correctly baring
they would instruct the ignorant
into the marrow of the bone
undressing such a source
that remains completely blind

Protesting

They shot a boy the other day
not far from where I live
killed him in cold blood
they wonder what he feared
they say his hands were in the air
reaching for the sky
but that never stopped the policeman
from making his bullets fly
seven shots rang out
then there was a pause
and two more shot were made
as if there were not any laws
I went to the neighborhood
just a short walk away
and I joined all the protesters
while the world watched and weighed
some were looking for attention
from the whole wide world
and did I forget to mention
the want to be Martins and Malcolm's
opportunist who've waited all their lives
for that white man to kill that poor black boy
but join the people, I must
follow their parade, I must
play the role, I must
because it matters
we marched and so did the white opportunist
who were there enjoying the cameras
one has to wonder how many Martins and Malcolm's
were there really?

Premium Member A Remote Control

With a remote control
Everything may be at your fingertips
But not human rights
Man with wisdom is difficult to control
Bribery and scandal will be questioned
A peaceful demonstration may occur
Protesting
For human rights and justice
The country is neither under one person
Nor controlled by the only remote control
Called hegemony
But under the whole people's rights
But under God's protection
But under one's conscience
If any

Out Loud and Clear

Green and growing; educated youth is a warrior, helping country to grow and rise.
To prevent democracy from becoming a book of rights and crime in disguise.
To fight out injustice they quickly take charge, without calculating the loss and price. .
Whether it is protesting or simple candle march.
Never scared of the valiant efforts required.
United and proudly they stand together.
Each one's emotions perfectly entwined.

Today's youth knows no race, caste and creed.
To win their support, no one needs to be a relative.
Inclusion lives in their mind, heart and soul.
With loyalty and commitment in their attitude.
Kindness and understanding serves as the strongest bond.

Always extending warmth and helping hand.
Proudly wiping out plural pronouns.
Loudly they shout out single pronoun - "together we shall grow, together we shall shine. "

They have the power to kill cruelty and crime.
However painful is growth and change.
It's impossible to kill their indomitable will,
Or even fight out their intelligence and skills.
Together they fight with complete courage and grace.

They just don't know how to quit .
Yes! Nobody can defeat their spirit.

Protesters,
are squeaking wheels
in search of grease.
Often getting their way
by disrupting peace.

Always airing their gripes
while carrying a sign.
It’s a difference of opinion
that hatches their whine.

Fear and intimidation
is the game many play.
Feeling they’re the only ones
who should have any say.

There’s something to be said
for these harnessed voices.
When numbers grow large
it tends to influence choices.

Some protest’s start out small
other’s, the world is their stage.
Before intelligent disagreement
comes a display of outrage.

Protest Against Protesting Children

put your barbies away!
put your J I Joes away children
it's time you grew up
threw up were told
at the ripe age of six or seven

that its a sick sick world
and you need to get involved

WOLF WOLF WOLF
screams little red riding hood
what beautiful eyes you have
WOLF WOLF WOLF
and then comes the hunter with the axe

Put your skipping ropes away
put you wooden swords away
time to grow up with the reality
that this
this is a sick world
go to bible boot camp
accept Jesus into your heart
and overlook this supposed crime

WOLF WOLF WOLF
screams little red riding hood
with tears in her eyes
full well knowing
shes about to be eaten alive

Little Bo peep protecting the sheep
knows soo little about the monstrosity of the terrors of the trickery
WOLF WOLF WOLF
and then you look at me and all the perverts with lollipops they are warned about
and they come onto the internet to meet strangers
and i say kick the children off the net
so i can have freedom of speach and work on building the future dream

Whose afraid of the big bad wolf
whose afraid of the big bad wolf
soo many sheep in disguise

listen up now children
accept Jesus into your hearts and realise im not hippocritical or anything
im not brainwashing you
but you yes you
you are the victom
and life is your nightmare
so protest grab a picket sign
put your dreams
away
forget about playing and join my ARMY

WOLF WOLF WOLF
scream,s little red riding hood
and little Bo peep
looks among the sheep
and sees one by one
dead body the children of the korn have risen

like the game of laughter of the pyramids
haunting and protecting the king from trespassers
WOLF WOLF WOLF

its a sick world
and i don't want to revisit this nightmare

throw away this terror
or we'll all be living a nightmare you cannot fathom
where are you going wrong
and what are you teaching the children

Alice no longer in wonderland
but now shes screaming

OFF WITH HER HEAD!!

Premium Member One Seed

Why at our age are we still protesting?
Why do we feel the need?
Because the fire of hope for a better world still burns inside us…
and because it’s never too late to plant a seed.

If we can plant one seed of understanding
help just one person open their eyes and see
perhaps one day we’ll stop ignoring
and whitewashing our history.

If we can plant one seed of knowledge and wisdom
help just one person understand
then minds will be free to be opened
and books will never be banned.

If we can plant one seed of love and acceptance
help just one person to open their eyes and see
then the world begins to be a better place for the LGBTQ+
and me

We protest to plant one seed in one heart
because in our hearts we know
unless we plant that seed
it has no chance to grow.

That’s why at our age we’re still protesting
and we will keep protesting as long as it takes…
although we are protesting less for us now
and more for our children’s and grandchildren’s sake.

Protesting
Written: by Tom Wright
7-8-2016

Protesting has become a dangerous game,
Creating property damage and often killing.
It accomplishes little but occurs just the same,
Working on inequalities seems we’re unwilling.

Those thought oppressed want their payday,
Spouting slogans and shouldering their signs.
Thinking this might another’s opinion sway,
Desiring to rise above their present confines;

But I don’t see protest as getting this done,
Unless hearts change somewhere along the way;
The answer won’t be found in outlawing the gun,
Things aren’t apt to change until we all pray.

Protesting Authority

Oft times we protest making the evening news,
and it isn’t always from our differing in views.

Rather than bend to authority & take a back seat,
we’ll make signs and line both sides of a street.

Following others advice blindly we simply won’t,
and it isn’t always about what we believe, or don’t.

But all about the narrative big brother has sold,
our innate nature just rejects our being told.

Tom

Through open revolt, dissenting views are expressed,
It’s always about principle, with me, not the reason.
I won’t become a prisoner to any threat or protest,
And I visualize occurrences as another “silly season”.

When many disagree, they soon craft a crude sign,
And it’s never an issue what the majority might say.
Then march in the streets and to the media whine,
Always ready to appear stupid if it gets their way.

Protesting late arrival of spring
This long winter's been lingering
Seriously overstayed its welcome
Not leaving till it's warm and sunny
I’m staying indoors to shout and pout

What Are We Protesting For

a call to the west
 we must clearly confess
all of life is a big test
through pillars of sought after dignity
others will just do what they please
some getting knocked to their knees
what are we protesting for ?
with billboards of promise offering so much more
yet we move to soon in our gloom
 troubled hearts are so many
 why do we even disagree
 social media making history
 where is our dignity
Trump has got something up his sleave
a moral chance at one willing to achieve
we want a blast from the past
to tell us of our future

 barbed wire fences
one hand to hold a heart will mend
 when will we ever understand
 seeking pillars of truth
fighting in the street with a busted tooth
we are all getting caught up in the mix
everyone is looking for their next quick fix
what are we protesting for ?
many having claim it being so very 1964
