Best Present Tense Poems

It seems
my past
is everything
I failed to be.

I am
a product
of my past
not a prisoner
of it.

I will 
not be
stuck in a labyrinth
thinking I'll
escape one day.

However, the clock ticks
hours pass
the past reverberates
the future recedes.

If the present
changes the past
looking back
I did not find

what I left behind.

SHE WAS THINKING ABOUT THE FUTURE
HE WAS LIVING IN THE PAST 
AND IT WASN'T YET APPARENT
HOW LONG THEIR LOVE WOULD LAST

Thinking about my upcoming
vacation was better
than living it.

Caught myself rushing
to meditation class,
thought about it.

Clicked my alarm to pause
wanted more time,
I missed it.

Argued with my friend
never happens again,
I did it.

Savoring a chocolate delight
looking for more,
I'd ate it.
