Best Presages Poems
The sound of rain falling on your roof,
feeling raindrops on your flesh...ineffable--
The tightness of a hug from one you have
not seen for a very long time...ineffable--
Laughter of young children playing, yours
or not, doesn't matter...ineffable--
The way a sunrise gives you hope, and a
sunset presages a peaceful death...ineffable--
The touch on your neck by your beloved,
the quiet sharing of doing nothing...ineffable--
The awakening from a dream full of wonders,
the sense you were in another world...ineffable--
The moment of joining with another human being,
the strange mixture of joy and sadness...ineffable--
Beholding a tree in full bloom, its myriad leaves
turning in the wind, whispering life...ineffable--
The quiet, secret, almost desperate longing
for transcendence, for God... ineffable....
A QUEST TOUCHED BY HEAVEN
Treading towards an immortal search
a mortal soul stood begins the quest.
Crossing deep sea and burning desert sand
down the wild and civilized land,
soul driven by zest will so grand.
Right and left battle: a door to growth and anguish
Life still wriggles for habitable breath hiss
Shuddering fears may impregnate decline
staggering, falling, hurting but LIVING!
Teardrops shed a lance or rose to the heart.
Prayers a rumble to steps roaring zeal
rave gaits thud though imperfect
Your lit of melodious merciful grace
presages treasure drafts of redemption.
Breakages had caused falls bending spirits
yet, these also caused cries of feverish hopes
frightened but with Your heavenly touch
Am a mortal but siren-like singing hymns of salvation.
In the ocean expanse of gloomy sky,
my heart -a white pigeon craving to fly high.
I strive to reach outstretch stars
Sprouting lovelier even when rain arrives.
Singing my lifesong with side-sways,
enjoying God's gift of life today.

Were time in the abundance of our youth
When days stretched out like plains to the horizon
I’d see an endless space, await the truth
Of outcomes that could come from chance arising
But now the dawn but presages the dusk
And time to pause in patience depletes
My innocence no longer in the thrust
To prove the righteousness of my conceit
My love, of value now more than my virtue
Would gladly accept blame that it bring peace
Contrition for the the acts and words that hurt you
No time now for extenuation pleas
The guilt is mine, I’ll take the consequence
Truth needs no more your pain to prove its sense
a storm rages outside.
sky, overcast with clouds
fearful sounds echo,
through mountain crannies,
like that of shrieking bats in flight.
trees shiver under wind's might.
everything around,
presages an impending doom.
the least pressure may
tilt the scales and tip the balance.
sitting in my dim lit room
with all the windows shut
unable to drown the emptiness
afloat in irrepressible buoyancy,
I glance over the balance sheet
of my life. There’s no surfeit,
only deficit…gross deficit!
once I was something, now nothing
utterly broke, I lose my balance.
when falling down, there’s no one to hold.
my chest feels heavy.
my heart sinks into pitfalls of sorrow.
I wonder when this will end?
while trying to make an escape route,
I sink into unsettling thoughts.
memories torturing,
destroy what’s possible.
I know when stuck in the past,
I can’t focus on my present
or plan for my future.
life is a test of mettle.
I must make the right decision.
choose the right thing.
I will continue my inner fight.
lay claim on the eternal light.
accept defeat and obliterate my ego
and resurrect my inner child!
I know, I will be tipping the balance
with every right decision I take.
I must undertake the precarious tightrope walk,
in utmost caution without losing my equilibrium.
ENTRENCHED TIME (IS) EMBEDDED NOW!
Procreate and multiply for generations and generations to come.
Expand the universe to the knowledge known.
The knowledge of life formed through the portends of a greater source that presages.
Entrenched is time.
The norms of God are not a postulated form.
Simplicity is that we live life on earth.
Postulated is the norms of humankind.
Encapsulated by the unknown.
The creator of one and all is the omnipotent.
The people of the universe better pay attention.
The instinct is palpability.
Physicality in nature as the trees are through the woods.
Time entrenched and now is embedded.
Are we burden by our hidden conflict?
Are we lessening when it is not addressed?
Or, are we the weakest link?
Embedded now is entrenched time.
Perceptibility and insight found is nothing more than a mien personified.
We acme an analogized mountain by achieving our goals.
Our parallels may be the affliction shown.
When similarity becomes between two, we strive to deseed both with one stone thrown.
We have lived.
Time entrenched.
Apposed wrong to apprehend that which is right.
For embedded now is entrenched time eternally.

Written April 19, 2016!
Sweet breeze I feel,
Across thy face,
As the flowers seal,
And the church spills grace,
The birds have meaning,
With a passion to fly,
I have visuals screening,
Each inch I walk by.
A gift lies within,
An echo from thought,
Letting the mysterious grin,
Fill in the right slot.
Oh, what a beautiful scene,
As movement is still,
Swaying grass is green,
Soaking in with skill,
A wonderful mind,
Receiving messages,
Waking up-on the grind,
Leaving behind presages.
Think today will be A GREAT day, and see how the world changes.
Moonlight oft softens the summer night,
but comforts are few, in the deep of night
when winter arrives with its vicious bite,
and we shiver to see our world turned white.
Winter is cold, starkly black and white:
be it at the noon of day or deepest night.
Sounds ricochet, echoing far and wide,
inducing the timid to shelter and hide.
Glittering crystals - nature’s icy festoons,
serenade winter with wind driven tunes.
Snow squalls in plenty, allow no respite,
seasonal conditions of a January night!
Tinkling sounds, wild mid-winter chimes:
musical serenade of the northern climes.
Clouds scurrying by, set free their loads
traffic snarls badly, on snow bound roads.
Winds echo eerily through forest trees,
like tortured cries of entrapped banshees.
Red Fox scents a prey, prepares to swoop,
but alerted cotton tail chooses to scoot.
Deer seek comfort in the forest of the pine,
unlike domestic cattle that warmly recline
sheltered in a barn, with food close at hand,
ignoring coyote marauders - a passing band.
A Snowy Owl - silent night prospector,
scours open pastures, sector after sector,
listens for mice tunnelling under the snow
sharp is its hearing, for all sounds below.
Temperatures edge higher: a new arctic low
invading our region, presages more snow.
Deep skies sparkle with a myriad of stars:
plainly seen are planets: Jupiter and Mars.
Awestruck we marvel for hours to gaze
at comets streaking by, in suicidal blaze.
Northern Lights dance across rural skies,
but over the city, their pulsing radiance dies.
Such is the beauty seen on a winter night,
when nature enhances the smallest light
from a galactic display or little known star,
whilst faint sounds seldom heard, travel far.
Standing outside, well wrapped and warm,
studying the heavens and their unique form,
we may marvel on the allure of a winter night,
and enjoy moments, that award great delight.
Rhymer. January 2nd, 2018.
Imagination simply staggers with its grandeur
The beautiful, ever-changing sight on earth
Enveloped the earth in its colourful panorama
Golden glow announces the dawn in the east,
In the west, crimson sky bids the day adieu
Royal canopy of blue,
Royal canopy of gray,
Royal canopy of resplendent white,
A majestic canopy of ruddy hue
All giving a grandeur haven
A red sunrise presages a red sunset
A white billowy, cotton-like cloud says a fine day is here
A Gay featherlike cloud says the rainy season is here
Like children about their parents,
Straggling cloudlets surrounds the white cloud
How magnificent it is at night with the starry design!
Fluffy clouds! billowy clouds! fleecy clouds!
Almost daily across its broad highway
Parade clouds of every size and description.
Each cloud assumes an infinite variety of shapes
All creations of perfect art across its broad highway
Dazzling masterpiece of beauty
Its scopes are worthy of the finest carpenter.
The wonderful work of the one with perfect knowledge
This royal sky
Evil Woman
By Rick Rucker
Her smile is like the morning Sun,
It presages much more Fun!
There’s a sparkle in her eyes,
When I see it, my Heart flies!
I know just what that means,
We’ll soon be like a couple of teens,
Neither one of us wanting to stop,
Until we are both “over the top.”
She makes me feel young as a child,
Because she is so darn Wild!
Loving Her might be the death of me,
But, if so, let it be!
I think she weaved an Evil Spell,
And She did it very well,
I was captured by Her allure,
And I don’t even want a Cure!
Decipher the messages
Encoded impervious presages
Alert your senses
Reinforce illusion defenses
Alchemist of unknown
Predisposed to finally atone?
Question corollaries prior
Analyze what may transpire
Beckon your defenders
Desire of all surrenders
Cryptic are ambitions
End-all of other expeditions?
Stroke scar in reflection
Separate from your affection
Clasp your shield
Promote the force field
Abstruse is verity
Words birthed in sincerity?
Kiss dreams of devotion
Taste the foreign potion
Dismiss your immunity
Dare mystery opportunity
Mystical is the allure
This alchemy is beyond obscure
Wars, famine and pestilences.
Death comes with a pension.
Poor people in this country.
Poverty all over, feeling empty.
Diseases spreading all over the globe.
Some mutated, some foretold.
Global warming sends a warning.
No one listens, it keeps on moaning.
Clean water becoming undrinkable.
Poisoning into the unthinkable.
Beauty that the world once held.
Destroyed by only a single shell.
Threats of war, they will come due.
A price to pay, because we are cruel.
Extinction presages as our future.
If we don’t all heed the bigger picture.
Terrorism is the world's axis of evil.
World in court, everyone is blameful.
We must be meaningful and do our part.
It's never to late to have a change of heart.

Curtain Call
Musings on more than a decade of retirement;
no report card scribble: ‘could’ve done better’.
Old put-downs, praise, blame, and shame,
all the same now. Nothing would jolt
the diurnal cadence of living and ageing.
Riding the bike, dip in the sea, few lengths in the pool
bringing wayward blood-sugar back to heel.
No excess, or excuse needed, for a glass or two with friends.
Eye-sight, reflexes, tested and judged
more than adequate for driving around
hoping to return before dark - unless, to pick up
or drop off family and friends at the airport –
not forgetting the local fiesta, musical show, flamenco night,
costing next to nothing.
Life’s purpose affirmed in every trivial act
presages loud hosannas before the curtain falls.
I once knew a world so happy and carefree
with latte foam clouds melting into caramel sunsets,
spread out before me with eagerly awaiting arms.
Now all I see is a “Do Not Enter” sign full of regrets.
I once knew a mind intelligent and quick,
witty and thoughtful, filled with joy and sass,
examining each thought like a crystal prism.
Barefoot, I step with care, “Caution Broken Glass.”
I once knew a heart beating like roaring thunder,
strong but gentle, unselfishly looking for some one to care,
racing on the highest fastest roller coaster of emotion,
but now this ride is “Indefinitely Closed for Repair.”
I once knew a gentle soul full of openness and curiosity
reading life like an open book with well worn pages,
out loud for everyone to hear and read along.
“This Page Intentionally Left Blank,” my life now presages.
I once knew a man strong if not handsome
living a life in his fantasy world, always there but always apart.
He was enchanted by the smile of a beautiful princess
but “Restricted Area, No Trespassing” was stamped on her heart.

A picture I'll never forget
In my heart her smile is still a lasting bless
And I can't help but think of those days
When we walked along the calico ways.
The clock, the gong and my dismay
Ticking towards the sorriest days,
And I can't stop the time running away
She will be gone when I'll realize
That am walking alone along the wispy ways.
This is the picture I only have
In my eyes her dreams are still aspiring with tears
And I can't percept but think of those promises
When we held eachother along the floral rays.
The vision, the esthesis and my presages
Reflecting towards the bluest days,
And I can't stop perceiving the reality wraiths
She will be gone when I'll intimate
That am living up to her dreams alone along the mortal rays.
That was the picture I will live with
It will remind me of the time we had
I will see and I'll frame this
So that I can walk to live up to her dreams.
