Racism Is Your Problem

Some people think what we have is still taboo,
And it's obvious when we enter a room.
       A few eyes seem to watch our every move;
But that makes me pull closer to you and appreciate your value.
They're unaware the stares can't shake nor break what we have,
We just shake off the dirty looks and laugh.

The ignorance of some people say white, black, Latino's don't mix.
I say that's something this country needs to work on and fix.
I've wondered why society stereo-types by race.
People don't lack human emotion despite the color of their face.
A shame we are unable to see, that all are one in the same.
Yet as a nation we prejudge the individual without knowing their name!

This is a new day, a new era.
And yes Sara, I would follow you to the back of the bus.
I would give up my seat to you just because.
If you could not eat in that restaurant, then neither would I!
I would fight for your civil rights, do or die!
That is the depth of our love.
Who cares if others find it "unheard of."
There would be no stopping you and me.
We would walk hand in hand down any street in Mississippi!

Mr. Turkey

Mr. Turkey, I hate to do this to you - so accept my apology
But come this Thanksgiving I must feed my family.

Mr. Turkey, my wife did not mean to carve you up the way she did
but those tiny slices were for our youngest - he's only a kid!

Mr. Turkey, I should not say this, but your meat was so tender and juicy
I enjoyed your "thigh" the most while watching "I Love Lucy."

Mr. Turkey at least you had company with all that "stuffing."
I thanked my wife for you but she chuckled and said "Oh it was nothing."

Mr. Turkey, I promise we will forever remember,
Because we have pictures we took on that day in November!

Note: Written for Donna Goldens contest "Turkey Tribute".... Have a blessed Thanksgiving
Poetry Soup - Marty, my best friend, Charma still waiting to hear from you, Carol Brown with
your warm words, Doris with your nice criticism, Sara, Donna, Audrey (Ladybug12) whose
words are also warm, Carrie Richards, Trudy and for all those specially who respond to my
work - why those people? Because you accept me (as me) An "inmate." And to those who
prejudge - well God Bless LOL... You guys remember a letter through the mail would brighten
my days more! Happy Thanksgiving!! Jimmy

Premium Member Fingerprints and Heartprints

Our fingerprints leaves our identity
On walls, doorknobs, books, all around
Each touch an impossible escape
Challenging me to face each reality
Compassion and kindness be abound
As good heartprints, my great break

Thus, they can never be use as "mask"
To disguise my fingerprints' touch
To a daughter, friend or neighbor
Hence, when someone there dares to ask
Even obviate to commit a prejudge
Real love heartprints - my labor

Our fingerprints leaves our identity
Thus, they can never be use as mask

Sweet is only a matter of taste gentle for the soul who dosnt dearve the kind words
She dosnt prejudge she only cpntemaplates
The outcome
that'll be the final verdict she saysdon't worry if you was figjting for the wrong cause it'd be plain for all to see
And as I behold the spell she dosnt even blink to cast
It's her burning desire yet to be fully understood
A compelling conversation she seeks to engage
to initiate. And then there's a need she feels
A pull so strong its a battle to fight back
Minds can't deny tell me tragedy can be prevented
Tell me disaster is only a matter of time
a matter is only a moment that never last forever
See now ypu know the unspoken is so dear gravity dares me to take the plunge
Her heart signals me to look in her eyea I look and see stealth and secretive thoughts she can't seem to hide, success to those who succeed I'm only sweet till you feel the sorrow I still hear the souls that scream for the unjustice that was done
a minute is a memory yet the hours they spend strengthimg the needy is a powershift, strickly the advantage is clear, others see but don't say a word
message I no longer attemt

Rememberish

i remember when life was deemed hard
and entitlement meant you could work as such
i remember when you could depend on your neighbor
listening to opposition without need to prejudge

i remember when the smartest guys in the room
were the laureated scientists of Nobel stature
i remember when t'was better to save than consume
and the supply side didn't come from Mrs. Thatcher

i remember when coming upon where the money lay
wasn't justified as reason to have a field day
i remember when MBA's weren't humanities masters
when fatherless children were the ones called bastards

i remember what's forgotten by capital economists
when caring for people wasn't a taunt calling communist
i'll remember tomorrow what today's been cast away
that actions are louder than acts of morality play

too, i remember times, when there were robber barons
when peoples hardships where even more transparent
and men sold apples on the corner for a penny
children slept hungry, 'cause they didn't have any

food or shoes to wear, or even a bed to lay upon
and the Barons or Kings or Pinkerton's rings
made the future's prospect a bleak phenomenon
only the fortunate few could pull life's strings

now remembering when men in sandals and robes
wandered the lands to prophet the peoples
to preach and to teach, to soulfully probe
spiritual concepts that all souls are equal

i remember that yesterday is cast solid in past
of stone or bronze or your own choice of metaphor
i remember that tomorrows promise can outlast
possibilities that we too, can become dinosaurs

For the Haters (Part 1)

Look, I'm cool with being alone;
I did it for seven years behind these walls!
I am a Latin King sitting on his throne;
And before you learn to walk, you gotta crawl!

Once I walk out that barbed gate,
Things will eventually fall into place.
Love can't seem to find me 'cus I'm an inmate,
But soon freedom will shine upon my face!

I'm use to close-minded individuals;
And people who prejudge me.
They have no clue I'm a rare jewel;
And no matter what they say or do, I will gain victory!

See, mentally, I am built Ford tough!
I will not fail, I can only succeed.
My childhood was a bit rough;
A child in hell, like in the papers you read.

So when you prejudge me,
Make sure your judgement is correct.
Look deep into my individuality,
But know, no one is perfect!!

How I Feel

Im disgusted to my sickest illness of judgemental, criticizer that plot my situation's that mode everything i sculpt and cannot stay nuetural in the there zones point fingers to blame yourself in a decision thats not made right to there satisfaction which may not be granauteed which there's a false situation that dont make since or just still like and paraplegics. But as i move to be grounded to move forward as i play in an formation of since ability to maintain my process and knowing my faults of my doings but to prejudge my conception of my life ratification but to ratify all the madness that happened upon me overall as i careless what people may solidify or cruel intention on my inflictions that cant chance what i say nor what i think but people love to critics in critical standpoints that doesn't have a point or appointed judgement to as i judge and bang the gavel to maintain my decision in how i may direct my action thats scene's in a movie that i direct and co- write so vivid in my views...

Premium Member People's Attitudes Make Me Cross

Tommy’s having a meltdown
in the local supermarket aisle
I know his careworn mother
so greet her with a kind smile

Tommy’s cries are getting louder
and he throws himself on the floor
Amy ignores him to do her shopping
but hears folk tutting by the door

As Tommy looks like a normal child
folk cannot see that he’s autistic
They assume it’s bad parenting
their attitudes are far from altruistic

People prejudge, it makes me cross
they are narrow minded, it's their loss

Hallucination - Axiomatic Altruistic Asseveration

axiomatic altruistic asseveration
her striking vehement grudge
that suspicious selfless statuette
was ample to prejudge

axiomatic altruistic asseveration
her evident disinterest
those envied eyes effectuated
clear patent of mistrust

axiomatic altruistic asseveration
her gestures vivid conveyed
that grim garland graded
sharply as she frayed

axiomatic altruistic asseveration
her warning vibrantly hurled
those scintillating spectrum spirits
are separate from our world!

The Thousand Mile Stare

How can you prejudge someone with Post Traumatic stress?
They're a lot more compassionate than you can guess.
Plagued by constant images from their past.
Branded by the ignorant, as an outcast.

How can they feel sane when they've seen so much madness?
How can they smile when they've known only sadness?
Have you noticed the Thousand Mile Stare?
Why should they open up to a world that doesn't care?

How can they cry when they're supposed to be strong?
How can they prove they're alright in a reality gone wrong?
It is hard to live when they've seen so much death?
To fight a battle within until they're last breath.

Are you willing to go beyond the lies?
Are you afraid to see the truth through their eyes?
Have you ever been paralyzed with fear?
Who is the real monster here?

Passion

A reply, to a request for information, in an e-mail I was asked, “How can I write a
cool story?” This was my reply to him and my reply to you.

Sir, I apologize for my thoughts of ignoring your query. If you truly want to know, I
shall tell you. The cost is dear let me make that clear, but there is nothing we should
fear. The road seems hard, as inches we must travel. I do not know if this will help
but it is the truth.

Passion: I will make an assumption-something I hate to do- and assume you are
young. I will tell you true what you must do if I may be so bold. For I speak from the
ages of wise, wise sages, as I grow ever old.

A man, I once thought wise, he bravely said it so. In life and strife there is a path
with but four ways to go. For in life you see four ways to be, work, hustle, steal or
deal. For a long time I thought I had been taught insight true and real. We were
both fools that day, as I heard him say these words of lost dreams and schemes.
For only one can bring the fun of reaching for our dreams. What is that way you ask
this day, so I must truly say? Work is the word so often heard and applies to all we
see. The goals we choose, we must never lose if some day we ere be free. So listen
close and I shall disclose all that needs to be.

Passion is the road to take if ever we are to see.

Do not let life pass you by, do not prejudge...experience and feel. If writing a cool
story is what you passionately want to do then write of that passion. Write of a
man whose only dream is to write. Write of that need to write. If your passion is the
cloning of mice write of that passion, and lastly if you have no passion, get a job

Don'T Talk Like God

I
"Though my troubles were doubled, I will not forsake you."

It may not stand for persisting with human relationships, so it's advisable not to say these words & sentiments, about "faith."

Judas & especially Apostle Peter (Cephas) expressed such sentiments toward Jesus & failed in loyalty & faith. Peter denied Jesus as LORD or acquaintance thrice on the night Jesus was arrested during His final days on earth.

II
"Judge not lest you be judged ..."

A great defense by all & sundry, these words help avoid criticism of one's actions (& motives?). But what does this verse 1 in Chapter 7 of Matthew (New Testament) mean by judgement?

While verse 1 is alluding to Gods work as JUDGE, clearly humans cannot do that! Yet, we humans must judge and use discernment in earthly matters. But not prejudge who goes to hell or heaven.

But Scripture (Matt.7) offers wonderful lessons in PERSISTENCE, FAITH, FRUITFUL CHRISTIANITY & "discerning" good from evil, fake prophets from biblically faithful preachers. Matt. 7:7 famously says, ASK AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN TO THEE, SEEK & YE SHALL FIND, KNOCK & the door SHALL BE OPENED ..." So earthly judgment & discernment are essential, but we don't talk LIKE GOD, especially about others people's final judgment. Still, we must judge good & bad motives, alms & actions, history, racism, politics ... Even poetry (thank you, Lisa Ricci).

Poem:
You are not the judge
But judge you must
For earthly duties and such
Leave hell to the devil
Heaven in fragrances of words:
Epitaph, apology, prayer, congrats ...
Even angels fall, why not us mortals
When pride & ego join in ungodly challenge?

Premium Member Everyone Has A Special Talent

Everyone has a special talent
Everyone has some special skills
Nothing is eternal under the tent
Everyone is entitled to some special deals
Who are we to prejudge or judge?
Who are we to refuse to budge?
Once in a while, comes a little surprise
Most of the time, it is no good to surmise
No one is the same, no one is perfect
We all have to do our best, to be correct
There is only one first time
No one has the same shade of paint
Lemon is yellow, and different is lime
Everyone has a different talent.
