"Hiding Philadelphia"
The ground has cracked open
like an egg,
the shell scattered
all about
the yolk of life
sucked into the rubble
where a child is born
and carried out
like a prayer
an offering
to the silence
of mothers
lost in the
sentences
of the seven
churches
consorting
with angels and
their lampstands
held in the right hand
of a dead man walking
7 stars for branding
plucked from beanstalk
sits the enduring belief
ready or not, for planting,
to harvest the uprooting faith
covered in its
blanket of darkness,
dreaming deep
in dust and ash
embryonic,
a still birth
brought back to life;
the well hidden,
hiding Philadelphia,
reaching upwards
towards the light

Being a Philadelphia sports fan
is like being a Hawaiian who likes icicles... what's the point
I barely remember the two years the Flyers won in the seventies
Now the Sixers in 83 that was amazing, but since then...nothing
When I was fifteen I seen the Phillies win it all back in 1980
The next time they won it all I had a son who was fifteen, 28 long years
Oh, and the Eagles, they never won at all, but they're the "gold standard of the league"
In desperation I once rooted for a horse named Smarty Jones to win the Triple Crown
He was from Philly
You guessed it, He lost at the wire as my son and I watched in the rain
on the Parkway right near the Rocky statue
In fact, Rocky is this towns biggest sports hero, shame he's imaginary.
But as of late I have been cheering my mighty Sixer's
Just honoring the guy who made famous the 'who needs practice' quote
They have now lost 21 in a row, a team record
Now our sights are set on the league record at 26 loses in a row
I may take off from work that day
Maybe take a lunch and go downtown and eat with Rocky
Hopefully it isn't raining
This is 'His' letter,
to the Philadelphians,
and the angel there:
"The words of the one,
who is both holy and true.
I know all your works.
I hold David's key
and I have opened a door
which no one can shut
Your might may be small,
yet you haven't denied me.
You have kept my word.
I will bend their knees,
those who lie about their faith,
the church of Satan.
The wicked will learn
that it is you who I love
while down at your feet.
Patient endurance
this is my word you have kept
so you will be spared
You won't stand trial
unlike those who dwell on earth
when I come again.
I am coming soon.
Hold fast to the crown you have,
so no one may seize
The one who conquers,
will become like a pillar
within God's temple.
I will write three names
The name of God. My own name.
New Jerusalem.
He who has an ear
let him hear the Spirit speak
unto the churches.
Philadelphia,
When you enter Philadelphia
You will think that all the drug lords
Of the World live in that USA State.
Millions of drug addicts,
Streets filling with homeless people
Due to drug addictions
And few secret reasons ...
Which could be taken as serious problem
Of the USA government to look at first
Than trying to bring Solutions
To other countries.
Let us be realists
And continue to share some problems
Of different countries for Solutions.
I feel so sad to see
how the top World economy country
Failing its own problems
And trying to help countries
With small problems.
Can we say that some World governments
Profit more in some big crimes?
Is this question capture your attention
World poets?
It is said,"
Well Ordered
Charity
Begins with yourself."
It is my concerns
As I love Americans.
How happy will I be
If President Joe Biden
Sending Vice president Kamala
To Philadelphia Governor
And fix those problems first
Than continue losing Americans taxes
Money in unimportant Africa tours.
God help thousands of Americans
Homeless and millions of drug Addicts.

I'm still smarting from the Sixers devastating victory a few weeks ago.
It been raining the last two days, but today it isn't, just cold.
You know, just when you think it's in the bag, you then realize
that you threw that bag out, last week.
But the Sixers, they had it in the bag.
Finally! We would get the recognition that we so well deserved.
For this was not just any consecutive lose record. No. Not some
basketball record, or some baseball record from some inept
team in 1943. No, this was "the" consecutive loss record
for all major professional sports teams in modern day American history!
The grand daddy of them all. And It's was ours. In the bag!
All we had to do was lose.
I mean come on, we lost 26 games in tying this thing.
Surely we can lose just one more. I mean, what's one more?
After losing 26, we all just thought it was in the bag.
I mean really, what could go right?
I even had a group of fellow dejected Philly sports fans, and we Face booked
a kind of group event. I think each one of us watched our first Sixers game
that night in finally getting to witness some type of achievement.
And they(excuse me)won. 26 loses in a row, the record all tied up,
all but in the bag and they go out and win.
And yet, even though it put a real damper the Rocky statue luncheon,
every one still showed up. And on that day, that group of nine dejected fans,
came to a wonderful and I feel beautiful conclusion. And I paraphrase,
'It's just as good to be tied with the biggest loser,
as it would be to actually be the biggest loser."
Like, actually have something to hang on your mantle.
So I just want to thank the Sixers. What a ride it was guys. So close, so close,
and yet so far away. Don't let winning eat away at your propensity be horrendous!
Hang in there and one day that record WILL BE OURS... King of the World!
They tied that losing record and then went out and won, in a blowout
Can you believe it, they can't even get a record for losing
And then they go on and now have lost three in a row, go figure.
I did take the next day off from work and went downtown though
It wasn't raining, but it certainly wasn't sunny
I tried to eat my lunch at the Rocky statue
But people kept taking my picture every time I tried to take a bit of my sandwich
Then one guy said, "Hey!, move it!
I looked up at the Rock, a pigeon looking back down from atop his head
Gathering my lunch and picking up my umbrella
I reached up and patted Rocky on the knee
Saying, Hey Rock, do you think you can come back for one more fight, just one more
In hearing the tourist saying to his wife,
"maybe he's a crazy homeless man"
I simply looked at him, tipped my Phillies cap and walked away
And as I did this I heard that man say, "ah, the Phillies stink!"
Philadelphia
is the home of the Eagles.
Super Bowl winners!
Going to Connie Mack Stadium would be good.
However, I don’t like walking through that neighborhood.
Up there is where some trouble is going on.
Park your car, and you will find your hubcaps gone.
Perhaps they won’t bother us if I stay close to you.
There are some troublemakers up on Lehigh Avenue.
We have to walk west after leaving the subway.
The place is at twenty-first street, not too far way.
Just a few years ago, the Phillies were the worst.
This summer, it is a surprise to see them in first.
They seem to be pulling away at a torrid pace.
That Richie Allen looks good playing third base.
They brought over Jim Bunning from Detroit.
He looks like a winner, as he appears quite adroit.
Back on Father’s Day, we saw him pitch that perfect game.
If he keeps going like that, he is on his way to fame.
Johnny Callison hit the homer that won the All Star Game.
He is another player making himself a name.
It looks as if this team has it together.
What did they say on the news about today’s weather?
Turn that radio off. I don’t want to hear anymore.
All they play is music from that Liverpool Fab Four.
Those four English guys are polluting the airwaves.
Somehow, their music is what my girlfriend craves.
These bums look strange with that disgusting long hair.
They drive the girls batty, but I don’t seem to care.
Anyway, let’s get going. It’s starting to get late.
If the Phillies win both games today, won't that be great?
I was seven years old during the summer of 1964.
Perhaps a conspiracy, but the crew only knows, the
Happenings aboard the USS Eldridge, kept hushed
In a ship that sailed from sea port to time portals
Leaves a feeling this test was not ready, but rushed
Amid the Atlantic they were meant to disappear
Despite intentions, not only from sight did they vanish
Ever baffled by a green, eerie glow where the ship was
Last, by naval command all of the records were banished
People say they reappeared in the Norfolk Naval shipyard
Heavily disoriented and fused to the steel hull of the deck
In legend they say these sailors fused were alive
And how did they explain this more than a ship wreck
Each crewman survivor, where are they all now
X-rayed and studied in a black ops facility?
Prying minds still trying to make sense of it all
Ever curious, but maybe beyond my ability
Remaining questions with impossible answers
In theory, could there still be witnesses left
Men or woman who saw a war ship materialize
Each in disbelief of their eyes, their logic bereft
Not knowing if it was paranormal or sanity failing
This gave a new definition, to the term parasailing
Glued to the TV
Can't stop surfing news channels
Want to know it all
Nothing on TV
Can hold my attention like
MSNBC
CNN has me
Mesmerized with interviews
Larry King is 'King'
But it's all fake news
My apologies to King
He does tell the truth
The Five on FOX news
Is where I tune to for truth
They don't do trash news
Read the news paper
No truth in there to be found
Pinocchio news
Glued, screwed and tattooed
Pinocchio's on TV
Spewing lies and more trash news
Channels 3, 6, 10
They got it all wrong again
BBC's your friend
I will wipe my butt
With the toilet paper times
And flush the toilet
The old system worked
Trump had the 'trains run on time'
People made money
Now a new regime
Will destroy all that Trump did
It's socialism
Pinocchio Joe
And the Harris puppet show
Will do nothing good
They will raise taxes
And they'll destroy this country
Make friends with China
Export our jobs there
More people onto welfare
Do they even care?
Corono Virus
Destroys and kills some of us
When will it be gone?
'Beneath the veil' and
'Abandon all hope' over
And over again
Nostradamus said,
"Two towers in new city
Will fall in future"
I must understand
The psyche of hate for me
The terrorist mind
Where such evil's born
How and why it came to be
God-forsaken land
But the point is mute
There is no understanding
No sense to be made
I can only watch
Hear and see insanity
All on my TV
My eyes are blood-shot
Staring at the TV screen
Need to get a life...
I fear for the world
Men, women, boys and girls
I fear the Reaper...
SOUTH PHILADELPHIA WHORE
You'll breath her essence as her love's implied
upstairs from where she drank her watered wine,
and for an hundred dollars she has cried
to make you feel the man and feel just fine;
her Afro is all curling in your hair
and as the beat goes on it ups the price
to be two hundred and you put it there
on her nightstand so love can come on twice.
Her pith's exagerated twice as much
in hopes you have three hundred more to pay,
and you explode just from her second touch
to show you black is beautiful her way.
And taking break, she calls for more champaigne
while raising heat so you can come again.
South Philly is her home, but whom she lays
comes from the suberbs just the same as you,
the trash that lines the streets is trash that stays
no matter what do-gooders try and do;
all putrid is the smell out on her street
but you've forgotton what's reality
you're only here to let your bodies meet
and number three has not come on for free!
Concerning for your hubcaps is too brief
and though you've heard it, she makes you forget,
for time is getting on, and time's the thief
more than the thieves that daylight's never met;
up on the roof there beats a summer rain
at which you swear then enter her again.

Another Arena Bowl
was this team's goal.
The Philadelphia soul.
Dealing with reality,
a third-in-a-row trophy,
was not going to be.
Their season is now complete.
They went down to defeat.
The team from Baltimore did them in.
A championship the Soul would not win.
If you insist on competition in this world
I must tell you
Philadelphia sweeps the streets proudly
Philly is a historical heartland
Philly brings the love
Philly will always rise above!
Scaling city canyons
Control market us mountains
system in starvation
She concrete and green gutters
Blocked ... could neither memory prey
Philadelphia Phonographic School
Back about 1903
A parrot was the pet to be
But teaching Pretty Polly speech
Real words – not just a screech
Took some patience – took some time
For Pretty Polly just to mime
The teacher must stay out of sight
As phrase and words they would recite
Repeating them a thousand times
Before the light in Polly shines
So the Philadelphia Phonographic School
Of Language for Parrots was the tool
A phonograph was left that plays
Your choice of words for days and days
You had to pay for room and board
Six months – eight pounds – and your reward
Was Pretty Polly speaking words
Repeating everything she heard
But parrots live for sixty years
For sixty years your poor-poor ears
Will hear those same words every day
Until they carry you away
Or place you in a padded room
Citing Pretty Polly as your doom
