Beauty In My Palm

You are the wild flower in my palm
With no stem to keep you anchored to this covetous earth
You are the fragile thing I dare not cup,
As your petals whittle away under the wind
And flit unfettered in the air;
Exaggerated fear leaves my fingers numb
Hungry need leaves my fingers twitching
And my hand is paralyzed by turmoil
As every breath of wind takes another petal from me
And brings to my lungs, my chest and my heart
An overwhelming scent of need-

You are the wild beauty in my palm
And I dare not hold you to my chest
For I fear to crush you
To know first hand
That caged beauty, is beauty no more.

Palm Tree

A tall branchless trunk,
With lush, palmate sun-kissed leaves:
Tropical beauty.

Haiku 48-54 Strolling Along Palm Beach

palm trees silhouette
against ocean's pastel hues
sunset's soft glow

misty horizon
oceans seperate his palm
from my tear

my floating sandal-
tumbling waves break
upon the shore

floating bubbles
before i tossed my pebble
dad breaks wind at sea

waves lilt upon the sand
coloured corals crunch
between our toes

low tide
dawn's golden shimmer reveals
a coral reef

the tempest
a lone ship fades
in the mist

Premium Member Palm Tree Sonnet

Stiff pleated fronds in concert rise
to wax under the April sun
and trill their canticles begun
in verses jade that they comprise.

Chartreuse of thorny branches splay
a tumult to belie the grace
that on display they interlace
like rose stems on a breezeless day.

Atop the thatched denuded bole
gush fountains cast in cardamom,
an opalescent diadem
that glistens on the mossy knoll.

In thus exuberant array
do cloistered peacocks mime ballet.

Palm of Your Hand

Let me walk the palm of your
hand, over the mount of Venus
down the line of life and along
the line of love.
Let our heart lines entwine and
mingle with the lines of fate.
Let our futures be each others
and the stars be radiant.
For in the heavens our love is
written, its glory for all to see,
it falls as stardust, in honour of
you and me.
So let us walk hand in hand and
let the lines entwine, live our
life in paradise, and taste of love
sublime.
And at break of day let love
change its cloak and come in
the form of rays, to provoke
desire and passion throughout
our given days.

In the Palm of His Hand

My God holds the world in the palm of His hand
Keeps the sea back from invading the land
Captures the wind then sets it free
And still finds the time to spend time with me

He's the one who created the stars and set them in place
All seen and unseen is all that he's made
Placed the hidden line between day and night
Sharing this beauty by giving us life

His grace taught the flower to open in Spring
Taking in pleasure the beauty it brings
Sets into song all of the birds above
Doing this all out of His precious love

Bringing to wonder, the eyes of a child
As far off distant thunder speaks of His power
Giving His Son to us all so all could be free
As Jesus hung on the Cross He had in mind you and me

Yes my God does all, of this and more
Crown Him as King, Praise Him as Lord
His blessings beyond counting the grains of sand
As He holds it all in the palm of His hand

Palm Beach

Peering down from a window seat,
she closed her eyes and she sensed the heat,
the plane made its final approach,
and she didn’t mind flying coach,
the land meets the ocean on the east,
and it was emerald green,
that could be seen
from her window,
perfectly manicured hedges and lawns,
graceful coconut palms,
and backyards dotted with pools,
tennis courts and yard tools,
to an outsider it would seem,
that Palm Beach was like a dream,
glamourous in every way,
larger than life, so they say,
beautiful and mysterious like a good book,
worth every moment shared,
worth every look,
highway filled with fancy cars,
host to kings, tycoons and movie stars,
and now a little girl,
heading to a fantasy world.

welcome here
our community
open hearts and open palms
expressing and receiving other’s feelings

Universality will be possible only when we focus
on human qualities that unite us. Respect, politeness,
cooperation, friendship, inclusion, teamwork. This stems
from the ability to listen to, and most importantly hear
other’s ideas, that are not necessarily our own, and allow
them to flourish also.

In the Palm of His Hand

He holds me in the palm of His hand
My fear, He perfectly understands
I understand, I am a work in progress
It hurts, I feel like skipping the process

He holds me in the palm of his hand
He holds the sea in the hollow of His hand
And measured heaven with a span
For He has never ever failed to plan

The One Who loves me is so close to hand
And He has my name tattooed in His hand
His hand had such a gracious large spread
His comfort the valley of shadow I tread

Like a Lamb led to the slaughter land
A big nail struck through His hand
His hand bleeding profusely
Yet I took His love so loosely

Premium Member Does Your Palm Have a Star

Have you studied your palm?
Does yours have a star?
It is the sign of a seer, a mystic, a prophetess.

Here is your head line, your heart line, your life line.
See how they are deeply cut?
You feel things deeply.

This is the sign of a well-lived life.
Good for you, apparently you are
Listening to your spiritual guides.

Compare both of your palms.
The closer they resemble each other
The closer you are to reaching your life goals
Figured out in heaven before you arrived.

Some of you will have a vertical line
That cuts your palm in two.
That is the fate line. I do not have one.
But I do have a giant star.

Tiny Little Palm

He kissed me back
in his dream
with a sky
melting in his tiny little palm.

Premium Member Palm Sunday

Excited crowds with fresh palm leaves,
Wave them and call Him King.
They pledge allegiance to their Lord
As sweet hosannas ring.

They cannot know the coming days
Will fill their hearts with dread.
Before five days have past, their king
Will be betrayed and dead.

Parishioners on this Sunday
Hold palm leaves as we sing.
Although we know on Friday they
Will crucify our King.

But we know the end of story,
On Easter He arose.
He ascended into Heaven
Astounding friends and foes.

He suffered all without protest,
Forgave us on the tree.
He conquered death forever when
He died for you and me.

A Quiet Palm Sunday

On a humble donkey he once rode
Thunderous crowds by the road
Liberation they craved or
A salvation he gave forth

He rides into Jerusalem once more
With no glare from two thousand years ago
Fear has pulled back praisers out of his path
There was no red carpet but marks of an invisible wrath

On this Sunday, palms of praise are not seen
The stones could not sing along to any hymn
Only sounds of the clopping are heard
The King rode on to the fate ahead

A lone conqueror of sin and damnation
He rides to war without a shield or ammunition
With praise subdued by fear, he still rides to his crucifixion
To die and rise again to save the world from a contagion
