Best Overreach Poems

Premium Member The Meatball

I'm a meatball in a sub,
With three others just like me,
We are warmed by tomato sauce,
And a blanket made of cheese.

The roll is our surrounding house,
Handled by a man,
Shivering at a football stadium,
While sitting in the stands.

My best friends will soon leave me,
One by one as I watch the teeth,
Overreach each sphere of nutrients,
Devouring what's beneath.

This is what I was born to do, so I will not be afraid,
Munch, munch, munch. Oh what a glorious day!

Premium Member Those Who Seek the Stars

Those who seek the stars
                          are often unafraid
They know the mind, the universe
                        encourages the dream

The seeker knows with endless thought
there is no overreach
And only fear will compromise
                          whatever we redeem

So seek the stars and seek the moon
there is no dream too big
Fulfill desires in this realm
                     consciousness to stream

The rich man’s mouthpiece Scalia
Spread his will like gonorrhea!
In an overreach
He ruled money is free speech
And gave us all such diarrhea

Author's note: The decision ($$=free speech) murders our democratic process. He didn't champion free speech for whistleblowers or students. Does this make him a champion of the constitution and a great American?

True Democracy In Action Slam

When the definition of Democracy

Comes negated at both the cost
and price of freedom of speech

And being told what we can and
can not say or do

That to me then becomes an
overreach and abuse of power

Unless you let it be known to the
voting people and general public
as well

And after doing that so to notify
the editors of the dictionary and Wikipedia

But don't waste your time telling
the so called free press or media

They never let the truth get in the
way of a good story and print and
go to press on behalf of there pay
master's

It's the reason why fake news has
flurished is the scourge , bane
and curse and is so prevalent today

A modern 1st World problem
invading our brains from all
directions with subliminal
messages

Otherwise why would would
corporations make such large
election contributions or feel
the need to advertise

Beceause at the end of the day
they are businesses after all

And who but they expect bang
for there buck and a return on
there investment

There are two side's to every
story and the truth is often
somewhere in the middle

Sadly for all of us we only are
told or given one side's version
of a story

And the truth is buried
middle deep in small print
underbeath the staples

Binded hidden from prying
eye's like a fire extinguisher
encased in a glass red box

With the word's written on it
break incase of emergency

When plausible deniability is
the only excuse that will do
and make any sense at all

When you have just used
up the last of your Nine lies

And it's now a minute to the
bewitching hour of ten

And as the age old saying goes
why on earth should or would
we wish to choose the question

The news and what we have been
told if it wasn't true surely that
would not be allowed

Otherwise that means it must
have been green lit by those we
placed our trust in and voted into positions of power

And who on earth of us would
rather prefer not wish or choose to
believe

When the lines between a lie
and reality have now become so
blurred

We simply no longer can not
distinguish bettween them

To Wear a Mask Or Not Is the Question Part Two

but this government MANDATE
from Harris County is unnecessary,
unconstitutional, and unAmerican.

It’s an unprecedented overreach
which looks more like a communist dictatorship
than a free Republic.

And here in Texas
We believe
That people have to make
Their own decisions

What’s that?
Drunk driving should be okay?
Driving without seat belts
Or insurance should be okay?

What is wrong with you people
Requiring people to wear a mask
Is not the same thing at all

It is communism socialism fascism
Liberalism nanny state run amok
And we will not stand by it

At this point,
I see it as nothing more than politics.
Governor Abbott announces a trajectory
to start reopening Texas and Harris County,
which never even utilized its $60 MILLION
pop up hospital at NRG, I
mplements a mandate
for face masks on 4 million people.

The other counties to do it are Dallas, Bexar, and Travis.
These are the 3 most liberal counties in the state of Texas.
Coincidence?
 I don’t think so.

They are all filled with godless liberals,
Gays and anti-Christians and democrats
Who hate America
And hate TEXAS

 I believe we’ve seen
 the worst of this war.

What?
There has been a record breaking
Increase in covid cases?

Just more fake news
Everything is fine
Here is Texas

Cough cough cough

 And we’re closer to victory
than we’ve ever been.
Let’s keep doing our part
to be conscious of others
when we’re out
and make sure to hold

 government accountable, always

But don’t wear a mask
If you do

We will pull you over
Because you are probably

A criminal type
Wearing a mask

To protect yourself
From the non-existent
China flu

And we don’t want your kind
Living and polluting
Our great Texas state

Cough cough cough

You have to ask your self
Are you tired of living in a dictatorship yet?

This is what happens when people go crazy
and get tested.

Generators

Drifting through windstorms
leave the umbrella behind
don’t overreach yourself
the bar has been raised and
wind generators are broken

Rain pouring like crazy but
the sky seems clear while
the cold breeze pleasing
my icicle-sharp mind and
like an icicle I slowly melt
dripping, becoming an ocean
floating through storms

Road signs are frozen now
my way is a mess with few
slippery paths carrying on
with the duty in vain because
my wind generator is broken

Premium Member Resurrection

Religion is about ideology; Resurrection is about The Christ.

Empty words; empty ideas; empty religions; Empty tombs.

Satan was totally clueless about the resurrection.

Unity with the Father was often mentioned by Jesus.

Reckless actions and self-assurance doomed Satan.

Roman nor Jewish law could have prevented the death of Christ.

Execution by crucifixion was the exact prediction of the prophets.

Christ rose from the grave on the third day and ascended after 40 days.

Thirty pieces of silver were the price paid to Judas for the betrayal.

If Peter denied Jesus and repented, why did Judas not also repent?

Overreach is a perfect word that fits the actions of Satan against Christ.

Never has anyone claimed to have found bones of Christ in the tomb. Why?

Southern Cross

The name alone can conjure better times,
a happiness that's always out of reach,
evocative of palm fronds on the beach,
exotic nights in far-off summer climes,
and things that are impossibly sublime.
But if imagination overreach
is far more often honored in the breach,
perhaps our dearest hurt can live in rhyme.

Does distance lend enchantment to the view?
Is beauty just a bubble of the brain?
Or is it something real, that will remain
when we're long gone? Those stars, so cool, so blue,
so independent, splendid, hang there, vain,
indifferent to us and our sweet pain.

Premium Member My Theology

MY theology was formed when Mother taught me the Lord's Prayer.

YOU and I know that what's good for mother is good enough for us.

THEOLOGY, defined as the study of God, is made simple at Calvary.

HE, God Almighty, clearly defines theology for all mankind at Calvary.

ETERNITY'S long-awaited secret is revealed and offered to all at Calvary.

OBJECTIONS are overruled, not sustained; sin's curse is sealed at Calvary.

LOVE defeats and obliterates both Satan's lies and deceit at Calvary.

OVERREACH by Satan and organized religion proves fatal at Calvary.

GOD was in Christ and reconciling the world to Himself at Calvary.

'YES' is God's forever word of guaranteed acceptance at Calvary.

Unknown Terrain

Brined voids surround my already bounded vision, throwing me headlong into confusion and disarray.

Hesitation in what may be the next correct course is what has landed me, and with much despair, in this current crisis of identity.

It is also what keeps me still.

This sea of doubt, once touched by the poet Alighieri, drowns my senses, casts my sails of logic askew and all at once sends my fluttering mind into a turmoil so grand as to take the attentive and oblivious alike.

Oft in mesmeric trance, the soaked foundation upon which I stumble offers none but fleeting moments of blessed relief. The rotten cored planks creak and shudder with the shifts and contemplations of my psyche, and I feel as though one misstep or overreach will drop me into a depth not easily realized.

And, I fear.

Oh do I fear.

I fear that will be the end. The end of a great many precious jewels which have hitherto been forgotten, discarded, and altogether scorned.
I fear that I will not be mourned, or that I will but be it with half of heart.

I am surrounded by unknown terrain.

They saw a 19 ton truck rampage their way
Death came to France on Bastille day
86 French folk died that patriotic date
when Mohammed Bouhlei drove for Islamic State.

At a Christmas market also sudden death
She looked at an oncoming truck, drew her last breath
11 others died with her on what should be a happy time
Anis Amri drove the truck, was it war, or just a crime?

Death on a bridge over an English River
Khalid drove the car, no shame, not a sliver
A car can be a weapon - a use that breaks our trust
That in a peaceful day it couldn't happen to us.

Civilization depends on trust every day
Drivers stay in their lane; people don't get pushed off the subway
If you work in a building that bursts into flame
It could a killer finding a new use for a plane.

He was shopping in Sweden, then a stolen truck drove fast
The sight of it was to be his last.
Another holy warrior, felt that five should die
He claimed that revenge was his reason why.

Another rented a truck, drove it down a path
Manhattan cyclists plowed and split in half
A guy called Younis drove a van in Barcelona Spain
I shrugged at the dead, didn't bother to learn their name

Bourbon Street, New Orleans, a self-righteous guy
Saw a celebration, thought happy folks must die
He drove a truck, I'll spare the gory details
In an open society, terror never fails.

What's with these killers you might ask, you might not understand
You feel you didn't do nothing: you don't have a bloody hand
But as a member of a group, that's all some need
to wipe you off the map and take pride in the deed.

IF you march for a cause, that's OK, that's free speech
But if others do this kind of murder, that's overreach
Perhaps the peaceful types who ignore means for ends
Are courting their own death, where the sidewalk ends.
Barcelona, Bourbon Street—the same refrain:
A van, a truck, a cause, the dead remain.
I admit I don't remember one name.
Or feel the waste, the shame, the pain.

Premium Member An Angry Woman

An angry woman shouted
out slogans her group touted;
against the COVID vaccine,
face masks, and basic hygiene.

She claimed her right to free speech;
vaccines were an overreach
and not about risk or health,
but about power and wealth.

Till democracy's dream dies
she is free to spread her lies;
freedoms and rights run amuck
leave caring people dumbstruck.

When it's either votes or breath,
politics trumps life and death;
as politicians lean right,
let's hope the truth wins this fight.

Impeachment Cathartical

N. Pelosi proclaimed: "Let's impeach
Donald Trump for his great overreach."
She produced every article,
which was very cathartical
for the people who witnessed her speech.

Gone

"Gone"

Look at where my life just went,
Darling it's been awhile since you saw your daughter,
What's happening to you when you left just think,
Gone til Winter to be a winner forward spring,
Bent the bar that you raise your ego to,
Offer offensive offend to oneself confidence again,
Overwrought damage the motive you neglect,
Decipher the denial naive you're blind to,
Oppose again you overreach the passive within,
And breach the impeach of the culprit of the murk,
Nervous let's see the perspective of oneself through the optical,
Outcast in the wastelands of thoughts,
Suppress the opposite of the outcome.

The Pillar of Time

At the very pinnacle of the authority chain, heaven reveals the necessity for government

Rivalry against God from the hands of Lucifer demanded policing and a chief among angels

Contrary to the belief of many, self-government is ideal, but it does not work universally

However, humans will often go beyond the line of necessity with too much government

Barriers, borders, and limitations are one thing; 'Overreach' and 'Bureaucracy' are another

In the New World of the early settlers, they desired a government without bishops and popes.

Similarly, the American style of government was enameled with vital 'Checks and Balances'

Holy men had to be held accountable, and 'the divine right of kings' was simply anathema

Once I heard it said that the governments that govern best are those that govern less

Power in the hands of mere men must always be linked directly to God, the source of all power
