[A Pleiades consists of 7 lines, each having 6 syllables.
The title consists of ONE word only (and that word will NOT
be used again in the poem itself). The first word in each line
begins with the same letter as the title.]

Obsessed by jealousy
Overwhelmed to the point
Of no return, I reach
Out to you for comfort
Ousting repulsive thoughts
Opting to replenish
Our parched and arid love.

Mountain Oasis

The trail to the peak was a long and arduous climb
Which skirted a pristine glacial lake about midway.
Shimmering below, it offered a cooling balm for the heat
And a picturesque spot to rest and refuel for a while.

A short down-climb led to a high cliff that overhung the depths
Of aquamarine waters; crystal clear, revealing a rocky bottom.
Chartreuse lichen grew from the wetted rock face
While damsel flies of cerulean hue darted to and fro.

In the shade of a small oak we were content to eat our lunch.
From our vantage we watched the cutthroat trout feed;
Rising to a caddis hatch. Splashes of watermelon, coral and saffron
Under their jawlines divulged the source of their strange name.

Fronting the shore, a spacious open meadow served as a refuge.
A doe and twin fawns lay surrounded by tall grass and wild flowers.
Tangerine bells, snow-white lupine, and purple daisies with lemon eyes
In hues of lavender and lilac covered the park in waves.

After a short dip in the icy waters, we took a few moments to gather our things
And reflect on the beauty and grandeur of this unknown retreat.
Truly we were blessed, our bodies, minds and souls rejuvenated
As we climbed the slope to continue our trek to the snow-capped peak.

Premium Member An Oasis In the Storm

There's an oasis of calm within you,
That stress cannot erase.
It shows in the way you cope with things,
Though not always on your face;

But you have faith well grounded,
Deep within your core.
This faith will boost the hope in you,
To help your spirit soar;

And if by chance the storm grows fierce,
And winds and waves are high,
Your faith will see you through the storm,
And hope will lift you high,

High above the highest waves,
Because your faith holds true,
Sustaining strength that's always there,
Because it's part of you.

Hang onto faith your whole life through,
And it's unfailing force.
It's stalwart strength will strengthen you,
And help you hold your course.

Perfect makings of a daydream
Dancing carefree on a sunbeam
A deep breath and my eyes close
The air inviting as water flows
Seeping in serenity to the core
Despite the stir the rush the roar
Thunderous clamor of majestic falls
Ascending spirits soar I hear their calls
Rising mist emanating from another realm
What a rush~ divine forces at the helm
Stepping into the garden of eden and of rebirth
Creating in my mind sweet paradise on earth
Inspiration as pure as the first day of creation
Rendering rich bouquets of lush vegetation
I create my asylum my sanctuary my haven
Euphoric being a royal eagle or a common raven

Rumi's verse, "The desert beckons us as if it were the oasis,"
           ____________________________________________

An endless, lifeless moor—arid and fright.
A withering sun whips souls—toils to ignite.
Sans shelter or relief, ghost winds stand.
Dry air as shriveled wits seek relief sight.

Spurs appeared as ripples on the sand.
Hidden amid the tall grass of the land.
Quench your thirst at the watery oasis.
Our ravenous thirst for water will expand.

Amid a kaleidoscope of queries rapacious.
Life shrinks to grain of sand on daily basis.
Amid a dust of labor, a haven of serenity.
I was scared upon grasping the base hits.

We're like sand amid an arid sea of dexterity.
Southern blaze stores a feverish posterity.
As a tunic for our ethereal souls improve
Soar twice through the oasis of temerity.

Sky is drawn by daffodil and drifting groove.
Crisp air, soft breeze, and azure feet prove.
Bees buzz over heather, as marigolds rise.
Eagles trim their fierce feathers—rabbits move

Staring into gloom may uncover a prize.
For a dwarf area, glimpse an oasis of apprise.
This domain, this desert, endures best as gold.
It is highly precious than quartz grains size.

Scatterings of color that are scarce and bold.
Covered in a mixture of brown and green folds.
Such a proximity, yet so distant, yet so distinct.
We were transported back to the prior era, told.

A spring that flows with pure water hint
A lush green zone in the arid land succinct
An atmosphere devoid of noise and disarray
Away from adjacent noise or motion instinct.

Oasis

Opelescent sky casting a pink glow

As I walk slowly through the hourglass of time

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere

I find your footprints on the sand

Spring water flows across the desert of my heart

"Morning arrives when the brilliant sun first kisses the earth." Quote Written By Poet

The hot sun burns my fragile skin,
I am turning red like a lobster.
Water is needed for my survival,
but none can be found.
Sand covers the ground in all directions,
how did I get so lost?
I can see bright blue skies for miles,
wait is there a tree over there?
I must be seeing things,
there are no trees in a desert.
It is a tree yes a tree,
I must investigate.
Could this be an oasis before my eyes,
yes an oasis of cold water to drink and to splash in.
Now for some dates from the lovely palms,
food I have not seen in days.
Rested and refreshed I will march on,
back to civilization for my journey must end.

Oasis

azure ocean waves
         cascade against fervent tides-
                         florid oasis

Oasis small green path
Overwhelmed to the verge
Onslaught in dense dryness
Oppugn the sand from crops
Oozing with zeal and poise
Our parched and arid love

Could it be thoughts, images in my head
or dreams painted with colors in acrylic and water
that keeps me upright in the storm
in tough times and desert wanderings
Sensory impressions in the awake state
    with pleasure, expectations
    embroidered in artistic decorative stitching

An amphitheater oasis that is reflected in the water mirror
early morning with plenty of time, peace and tranquility
    Discover the giant beech trees
which climbs boldly up toward the sky
Carefully tread on the metre-long carpets
    with white and blue anemones
Picking gold in the forest, the chanterelles, for breakfast
Listen to the enormous variety of birdsong
as I rest on the bright green moss

Oasis

Oasis

The cup of kisses
Poured from lips
Such savage beauty
Must fight for breath
Its grave the body
Relinquished
Rides hurricane winds
Of coiled fascination
The images of everything

The tangles of thought
Are ribbons of the sky
Cloud born vaults
Lightening the blindness of souls
Dancing in the hail of caresses
With thunder roaring
Catching smiles
In the echo’s of names

Speak then
Of all that is done
To know this spot lit love
A performer of movements
In the ballet of lives

Imagine where the silence seems
Full
Raging to the resonance of a scream
Thinking of places behind the doors
Of dreams

The binding sun of eyes
Call to the desert
In a dust storm of years
The oasis of sex
Wetting a blessing with tears
Clutched in the sand held palms
All is known
All is shown

Conceive then to know
All places been
To fathom the thought in a phantom
Is all that it seems
To stand in a world
With so much more in
With never enough of a never ending
Wandering over the oceans
Of souls

Through space there is nothing more clear
The shinning face of the known
Between right and wrong
And all the lies and truths shown

It’s just a little curious to discover who
When all the struggle clears away
Nothing to think of
Except how to spend a day

So feast your eyes constantly
On all the beauty
No need to fight or remember
Just free to wander
Free to be free
The invisible gate
The invisible key
Just walk through
And be

( what will it be like for you
   when I am me
do you think that you know )

Oasis

Incandescent emotion
Spills and
Tumbles from pen to page
Iridescent love
Leaps gracefully
Like a gazelle from the
Lion's claws, as the safest
Oasis rises into
View.
Expectation of inspiration
Eradicates those dark emotions
Vividly transforming
Every
Rhyme.
Yet,
The world of things
Haunts the proposed
Innocence of these words.
No
Guilt
Will
Eclipse the bright
Sunshine of some of the
Happiest refreshing moments.
Alone with my thoughts, but still
Raptured and ever grateful for
Every beautiful spirit-filled
Drink to dissolve the driest darkness
