I lie awake, hearing the wind
Winter, that coils in the breast of night
Glides in from the fields,
Eerie sounds through window sills
When night, soon perishes into dawn
A morning, slender and pale
Still dark with shadowed swill
Reveals such hapless sight
The wretched carpet, rubble and plight
Like broken wings from dark of night
Finds limb and bough mere ghosts
Of trees, battered, forsaken
By violent rage of night
Night has fallen
dark and deep
creatures stir that had been asleep.
A light from passing cars flash into the dark
yellow eyes peer from the night
a scurrying movement catches the eye
then all is lost under the darken sky.
One of our furry friends goes on a hunt
looking for a meal
that is hiding in the nearby field.
Watching closely is another pair of eyes
seeking its prey
under that dark and cloudy sky.
The feline friend crouches low,
moving stealthily
eyes fixed
as an unsuspecting rodent scurries by
knowing that a meal is about to be served.
All the while in the dark of the night
another pair of eyes
gleaming yellow in the pass of the lights
watches as its meal is about to be had.
Silently without a sound
the pet approaches its prey
when out of the night the hunter
becomes the hunted
and dies in a most sudden way.
Dark storm clouds rotate
tumbling like the angry seas
evoking dark rain
Thunder rolling clasps
lightning whips across gray skies
clouds release dark rain

Thru the dark sea oats
Golden sunrise on dark sea
Waters churns from storm
Swirls of ragged trees
In wisp white softness of skies—
Curls of dark fingertips
Like gold glints of eyes.
Swirls in broiling smoke
And heat’s wild surmise.
Gnarls in sticks of grass
And brown leaves as winter dies.
Burls amid dark blue skies—
Swirls of alpha, omega
And all of life’s prize.
A little pebble-like form finds it's home in the dark cool damp earth, it begins it's
comfortable journey there in the womb of "mother earth". The dark porous soil allows
for air to find this nervous seed. As it finds room room to breathe, the seedling
discovers itself expanding and stringy fibers strangely emerging from within its small
frame. As droplets of daily moisture ease it's way to this unshapely creatures home, its
expansion continues, to the point when only a shell of it's original form remains.
Accustomed to this place which this former seed calls home, it expectantly waits for the
sunlight to bring warmth through its muddy existence. With anxious yet eagerly the little mutant seed receives the light. For now all that remains of it's former shape have
nearly vanished and turned into gnarly looking fibrils!
Dug what seems to be good organic soil from low ground,
In South Florida, that’s not easily found .
Moved that dark gold to a higher spot,
By the pond in front of Mary’s lot.
Planted rows north to south.
A month late for planting but we’ll see.
The hot Florida sun may burn the sprouts,
But they’ll be neath the shade trees by three.
Planted snap peas, summer squash and butter beans,
Detroit dark reds, turnips and chard greens,
Big boy and early girl planters, and other tomato seeds.
They ought to well supply our tomato needs.
Cauliflower by seed, hope they come through,
Only four broccoli plants made it. That ‘ll do.
Sweet banana peppers and jalapenos for a friend,
Lettuce, radishes and carrots; carrots to no end..
Sowed cilantro and chives to add some spice.
Next time some garlic and parsley will be nice.
A month later and already the moles are working the ground,
Doesn’t bother them that we have ten cats around.
A lot of work, weeding and feeding but it’s all a joy,
For this older, northern, farm born .. Florida boy.
I have seen so much from my window on the second floor,
I have seen the Storm Devils actively, knocking at all your doors,
They voraciously attack using their dark, and stormy, winds that roll.
Yes, I have seen the cause for all these twisted, viscous, nasty storms…
Storm Devils have been sending sleepless, and devilishly, stormy nights.
They’ve been attacking: riding rolling, black clouds, putting you in this plight.
Riding upon the cloud tops they throw their lightning down.
Their laughter is the thunder, as they mock all the innocents around.
They’ve visited every home, as they’ve viciously danced upon your roofs.
Yielding devilish, twisting devastation, to every one, everywhere you look.
Now, hide your little children, for they will sweep them, right out from your arms.
Run to find your safety in basements, for their reach is so deep and full of harm…
Even the trolls and goblins will join you in the corners where they’ll weep.
For attacking your homes is a game, they find deliciously, devilishly sweet.
With each dark and stormy roll, they’ll attack with all their might.
And they have a forceful stamina that can travel, far beyond your sight.
Now say your prayers, beloved, with all your worldly might.
It’s time to send these demons back, to their dark homes before another night.
IF together and in unison your voices go reaching into the sky to climb…
Then God will send them below, until they escape again… next time.
Don’t be surprised, when eventually their escape is finally wrought.
For the devil will aide in their escape, and all that they have sought.
You’ll hear his devilish laughter added next time, if only for the thought…
That when they come again… it’ll be against you …the storm is brought.
an alluring site
the feeling of a flying kite
the clouds are roaming
the colours are forming
red, blue, gold and turqouise
a weather
so moist
setting clouds
look like dark hills
with high mountains lakes and valley mills.
but a sudden red sandy desert
with mud and black dirt
now a navy majestic site
oh! my covet to fly
looks like a water holding boats
with gold bue cover coats
a never ending ocean..........
a dinless motion.................
the sinking sunrays...........
it's going..........
itz going..........
itz dark black
itz gone!!!
the falling sunset
has finally
FALLEN!!!!

Patches of dark clouds
Came floating by
Intruding the gold
That mingled with the blue in the sky
If one thought
The dark clouds would mar
They were proved wrong
For the dark too fell at par
Like strokes from a brush
Wielded by a hand delicate
That carelessly swept
Not thinking where it led
Once the deed done
Would have woken with a start
But seeing the result
The smile would have drawn the lips apart
For it brought out
The freshness in the blue
And enhanced
The fire in the golden hue.
Life’s canvass too,
If one thought deep
Only becomes richer
Amidst innumerable careless deed.
As the clock strikes midnight
And theirs a full moon in the sky
Before the darkness descended
They await to fly
They walk among us
You would never know they were there
If you look deep into their eyes
Be attracted to their stare
For once we have committed
We become one of them
Our skin begins to fade
As we enter their deep condemn
We enter metamorphosis
Their instant evolution
Black feathers emanate from us
Bodies in revolution
From the ground we stand
We appear in the trees
Ravens all of us
We become their black decree
We fly with the night
Looking for places to land
For in our dark sight
Our victims already planned
A solitary house on the hillside
Awaits the dark from the night
As we feel the fear from the insiders
We are intrepid in our fright
We crash through the windows
Consternation is all around
Our beaks peck their flesh
Bloodied in their surround
Our feeding frenzy over
Leaving our victims in despair
We can't attract them as followers
For they have no eyes to stare

Peculiars of Love
There are innumerable lovers
Standing on the grass top
Expecting their lover in the sky
He will come.
They will die.
It will recur in the next morning.
She is black and dark but
He is white and handsome
He loves her as a mad
He comes and loves every night but
with failure he returns
He hides and plays in her black and dark hair
I n his game of love
Once in a fifteen nights
He dies for her love
She is on the water
Standing as a queen of rose
He is yellow and hot but
Pays his love as a slave
He makes her to smile and
Makes her to weep in evenings
It is going on for a long
Though they can’t marry
Their love will go forever
In an Arctic world
So white, flies black
The Ravens rule
Is there a turning back
For the Queen of darkness
Against the white
Naked and kneeling
Has the dark turned to light
For on a branch there perches
Her Lieutenant so strong
For in the distance The Murder
Fly from
A changing world
Where the black is in demise
When its princess
Kneels down and cries
The white has now melted
The only black is night
What turned this dark princess
From her black to our white
We will only know
When her black stays away
And the night is so natural
But the light is our say

the stars final twinkle
dissapears from the dark sky
as moon falls asleep and
sun begins to rise
breaking the phase of
night to day
i watch with coffee in hand
blinding my sight for a moment
enlightening my senses
time to get motivated
awake and off to work
easing my view of all wild life
enroute along the way
that only dark would hide,
but sunrise brings to light
sunrise sunset contest
Enlightened and delighted by the ways of nature.
The rainfall's melody is unique and pure.
With the light breeze comes a heavenly touch,
The sunlight brightens days, lifes, spirits and such.
The trees dance to the music of the wind,
The ground dust makes a partner out of a passing whirlwind.
The cloud's tears carry with it the essence of life,
In a lifeless dessert a cactus does thrive.
The world is painted in white by the falling snow,
The groundhog of the changing seasons does pretend to know.
The moon becomes a lantern in the dark night,
The bat flies in the dark though he does lack sight.
