Best My Cat Poems

Premium Member So This, My Cat

So this, my cat, my confidante, my friend
His bed, empty now, I cannot discard
A photograph now on the mantel’s end
Beside his toy and a sympathy card

How long the wait, in this vast empty space
Till small sounds spare me the notion he’s back
Yet still shall I ready this special place
For friend and casket and polished brass plaque

You say he’s only a cat and he's dead
Still I make space midst old friends on this shelf
What notions strange and cold dwell in your head
When you have no love but that for yourself

Make light of my grieving if that you must
My cat I loved: As for you… not too fussed!

"I will send them without wings so that no one suspects they are angels”.

                                                                                said God

Snuggles you are such a blessing to me,
but now my treasure is so very sick;
and to God I am sending up a plea.
Snuggles you are such a blessing to me,
but I must accept ... face reality.
Recall you running like a lunatic,
Snuggles you are such a blessing to me;
but now my treasure is so very sick.

Snuggles you are such a blessing to me,
And to God I am sending up a plea;
but I must accept ... face reality.
Recall you running like a lunatic,
but now my treasure is so very sick;
oh, remember when you stole my fish stick.

My cat crunches her chunky canned food,
My cat crawls and creeps, curious-   and shrewd;
My cat chatters and croons, so cheerful and charming,
My cat is clever and captivating, carefree- and often alarming.

My cat is so cute and chubby and likes to cuddle with me,
My cat is camping-out on my cozy couch purring on my knee !

Her ears point forward to a sound she hears.
A sound beyond a pitch to my ears.
Her legs now crouch to attend the fears
Of the twitching nose that scours the airs.

She runs like a bullet shot from a gun.
I'm following behind on the run.
She corners and traps her small bale,
While I stoop and lift it by the tail.

Don't worry. I set it free.

Premium Member List- Regarding My Cat

I have a fluffy cat named Snuggles. She is total tranquility- at peace with
herself and the world, but, oh my gosh, she is one lazy cat who lives by her
own rules . . . when I do yoga, so does she- does a good Happy Baby Poise.

she sleeps 90% of the time (on a pink blanket in the center of my bed)
she meows, one meow when I touch her
but is quiet most of the time
she never eats too much at a time
but eats a lot over time
has piles of toys that she ignores
except the squeaky ones (at night)
sometimes hisses (not sure why)
she rules me . . .
likes to lie on her back with her feet in the air (Happy Baby Poise)
checks under the kitchen sink once a day
stands in the bathtub (not sure why)
drinks from my tea cup
wraps herself up in my front door carpet
helps at the computer by sitting on my keyboard
enjoys the sun curled up in my in box
has been known to eat bugs on the porch
and flower petals and leaves (that make her tummy upset)
gives me kisses in bed
licks and rubs her face in my long hair (purring)
takes up most of the bed by stretching out as long as possible
never, ever eats people food
runs away when she hears a loud noise
does only what she wants and when she wants
rules mean nothing to her
loves visitors from a distance
treats are tops in her opinion and she needs them often
sleeps pressed against me on the sofa as I watch television
gives me unconditional love
and I love her to pieces . . .

Premium Member Why I Love My Cat

My cat is gray,
        with chirps- she meows a serenade;
and she has a swagger, sashay, and sway,
believes I am her maid !
With her toy mouse she likes to parade and to prance,
   and sometimes she just lays on my lap in a trance;
and will nip if given a chance,
instead of with her toys play !

              She loves outside,
        strutting-  she has a pompous gait;
as she walks, swaggers with blustery pride,
I leap to close the garden gate !
After checking each corner she finds some shade,
but, if there is noise she comes flying to me- afraid.
Must drink my tea and my cupboards invade,
and far under bed hide !

"But no matter what, I love my cat to pieces,
                                  and pieces and pieces . . . "

My Cat Sees Ghosts

You might find this tid bit
A bit hard to believe
But I swear my cat sees thing
That I ain't never seen

I'm thinking that it's spirits
Floating all around
You can most often tell
With her constant peculiar meows

She'll sit there and she'll stare
At one spot to no end
It seems to me it must be the dead
As sure as I now live

Or when she ups and jumps
Batting at nothing but thin air
I doubt that it's the micro dust
But rather the spirits floating there

I know that all cats automatically come
With a total of nine lives
Which leaves me to often wonder
How many live on the other side

Yes, my cat sees ghosts
But you would never know
Cause she seems to see the strangest things
That no human eye could ever hope

Premium Member My Cat Writes Poetry

The calico cat sat firmly
on my quill.
I commanded she get off,
it was my will!

She slanted her green eyes
and hissed.
Here, sat a fierce feline poet,
demanding her poem not be
dismissed.

So, I slunk quietly into my
kitchen.
What could a cat write, what
am I missing?

Ater a spot of aromatic tea,
I returned.
I saw a poem, indeed, I was
not spurned!

First line had 5 paw prints.
Second was 7 paw prints.
Last line was 5 prints!

My cat was learning from me.
This was her version of Catku.
Which she, indeed did pen,
most splendidly!

Is My Cat Insane

I don't know why it happened
It totally boggles my brain
I think my cat is loosing it i think shes going insane
I herd her meowing outside my back door
When i opened it she dropped a mouse on the deck floor
Why would i be boggled well to my surprise
This mouse wasn't dead it was very much alive
She looked at me like to say i brought this for you
Than she sauntered in to the house like she didn't know what to do
She laid out on the kitchen table like she was queen
Me still rubbing my head this is the strangest thing I've seen
I know she has shown sometimes she is not always smart
But never brought me a mouse that hasn't been ripped apart
I looked out my back door and that little mouse was gone
I looked at my cat and said now what the heck is wrong
Oh boy maybe killing that mouse would break my cats heart
Maybe when i wasn't looking my cat made a fresh start
Or maybe in that moment she felt she cared
Letting that little mouse go his life she spared
But really i cant imagine that
This is the same cat that brought me the rat
So here i sit with a boggled brain
wondering is my cat truly insane

O, a sweet one my wee cat,
White and brown and strong;
She likes sleeping on my bed,
Snoring all night long.

Eating, she sure does enjoy,
Now is time to play;
We are chasing furry balls,
Then she walks away.

My Cat

My cat is so lovable she really makes me humble
She loves to play and cuddle and roll around and tumble
She can look into my soul with those oh so seeing eyes
What does she feel as she licks and cleans her daughter?
I can only say its love, what else?
I watch her as she sleeps, I can see that she dreams
I know she is a soul, just like you and me
Please keep in mind this simple token
That we are all part of God and the chain cannot be broken

Premium Member My Cat Is a Hipster

My cat likes to sit in the window
He watches the passerby with a cool gaze
And though he cannot speak English
His meows are full of disdain

My cat likes to flick his tail back and forth
While he licks his hind parts
Maybe there's a secret eternal
Or maybe he simply farted

My cat likes to listen to electro swing
And I see him swaying to Caravan Palace
He sure loves to dance on Saturday
But every day to him is Caturday

My cat likes to look at me solemnly
Like he's seeing something dead in the trash can
He probably hates my existence
Even if I feed him every day
