Best Minty Poems
"Bonjour, in the cocktail woods"
I see the waffled leaves of teal trees painting pink moon,
With diamond dahlia arcs, flowering an orchid boon
Sprinkling love of french perfumed spells and cocoa mystique,
Flickering in neon scented star seeds of rose-glossed antique
For, I'm the fragrant fluorescence of pure peace lilies,
Floating amidst dancing dove's glowing daisies
In a redolent riverbank, loving life like the sweet butter-sun,
Wandering in black forests, enveloping magic in red ribbons
Defrosting my white chocolate heart peeking through tinkles,
Singing beyond the glass petals of peony and snowdrop marvels;
Perhaps, plush strawberries too have starry scars,
On their silken ganache skin, bleached with calendula and mars
And my luscious butterscotch lips tremble at the blurry squeaks,
Ruffled by minty chills in my cherry-blushed cheeks
I search for addictive caffeine in gold-glazed dawns that bask,
Pouring nectarine reveries in lavender litchi hearts
Life's a bittersweet syrupy sea, coated with tangy rainbow hues,
Forlorn, this forbidden folklore is shaded with sycamore's adieus
They say, mocha pupils and vanilla haze of iris,
Can carve a melon hued watercolor portrait alive,
But I believe that the purest is never a sweet dessert survived,
In this delusional donut-shaped globe and tangerine beehive;
So, I shove my identity in Van Gogh's abstractly bejeweled canvas,
And let my caramel brown hair, gleam in golden hymns of aqua
Waving walnut "goodbyes" to velvet ochre sands and sapphire skies,
Forevermore, fluttering hummingbird's dreams in oscillating flamingo galaxies.

A winged mermaid blossoms,
awash with marine snow ~
Poseidon's ocean-pearl,
breathing jasmine sirens
as iced eyelashes curl...
A winged mermaid blossoms,
when fish-angels ache for
arctic apricity,
and glacial nymphs carve a
cruel felicity...
A winged mermaid blossoms,
as strawberry conch shells,
drape the neon sea-star ~
my minty sun trembles,
and sheds its sherbet scar...
A winged mermaid blossoms,
hearts of manta rays swath
with love's ivory rose -
unfurling aqua kins,
that ruby thorns unfroze...

Monchielle Stanza
Your wings aren't broken,
just bruised and singed.
From holding them too tightly
against the burning breast of indifference.
Battling storm, surf, sweet siren songs
blood fish praying for your falter...
but you fought them off one by one.
Atop the waves
you've seen many beautiful things...
that little patch of green dancing on the sea.
Where you landed ever so briefly.
Salted eyes tended by birds of paradise.
They sent you off with satchel ...
filled with shell and song.
Each offered a feather to blunt the alone.
Remember that smiling dolphin
the one with mirrors in the eyes
offering silver shoal and golden heart
to rest your weary soul and mind.
Then you sang a duet with him
a nearly perfect -pearly blend
of sweet chirps and minty clicks.
You almost stayed but fliers are not of the sea,
swimmers are not of the sky...
so, you just drifted by... on by.
Here you are today
perched upon a graveyard fence.
Huddled in a nest of pure blackness,
Isn't it time to unfurl those wings again.
Soar onto the next journey...
Wear the colors of paradise
offer a shell to the surf
to quell the forever hurt.
Another dolphin awaits you
this one has rainbows in the eyes
and the divine gift of gilded flight.

Dusk jiggles and stirs evening enchantment.
A crystalline glass of intoxicating twilight
in hues of yellow, orange, magenta and blue.
Globs of honey-dipped cumulus floating
and garnished swirls of minty mist rising above.
Every drop is spilling out immense pleasure
that transcends me into euphoric freedom
and my boredom drowns in it as I drink it all.

On summer nights
Nostalgia's muse revives
Scent of jasmine
Fig tree fragrance fuses
Memories meander
Minty ice cream flavours
Add sweetness to hungry kisses
Star gazing to cricket symphony
Roof top whispers of love's infinity
Days drenched with salty waves
Sun flared skin soothed
In joint showery sprinkles
Summer days, summer nights
Surges of joy, exquisite delight
Looking back, I sigh, I cry
You entwined with my summer high
And now...
Autumn in here and you are not
The nagging rain will not stop
Yet I take a walk, soaking up this misery
The smell of dead leaves turned to rot
Instead of those forget-me-nots
Fills the air
How can I not care?
What happened? How? When? Where?
A memory sleuth, I search every moment
Empty... no clue of love's demise
Rain tears flow from my eyes
Your sensual summer vows
Forgotten somehow
And now....
I wait a brutal winter blight
with no promise of spring

Dramatic Monologue
Panagiota is a whirling Galaxie
with her blue thunder words
a spirit like black diamond lightning..
She bruises the clueless and ignorant
not out of hate but of love
not with a brass knuckled fist
but with pearled wisdom
layered around grains of
life's relentless grit.
Her words are not fanciful or minty...
their always stained with the talon of truth,
She crushes the weak-minded and the oblivious
with her Olympian soul and rose scented boots -
She fears nothing and never spares the rod
while weaving a spirited ink to her parchment heart.
Atop enchanted moonbeams
she lances pit vipers and tangos with God.

warm green days have come
and candy striped rainbow skies
buttercup surprise
bee visits red rose
near the house of gold treasure ~
sweet beyond measure
purple lilies please
through sparkling emerald days
or orange dusk rays
mornings minty fresh
yield to sage evening at last ~

I really wanted, a refreshing day
Thinking to myself, what was the best way
First some cold water, I splashed on my face
Evidence of sleep, vanished without a trace
I felt my pores shrink, my eyes came awake
Brrr I was so cold, I started to shake
Perhaps a warm shower, was the answer for me
I ran the hot water but needed to pee
Off to the toilet as the water ran hot
Not so refreshing, it burned quite alot
Jumping from the shower, I slipped and hit my head
Things had started out well, but I ended up dead
Before I knew it, I stood at Heaven's gate
Better to show up early than to get there too late
I was handed a mint, it seems I had bad breath
One of the side effects, of succumbing to death
Minty and refreshing, it gave me a glow
As the gates opened I went with the flow
I was quite curious, wondered what I'd see
There the tree of life, right in front of me
I walked towards it, reached up for some fruit
Soft music was playing, I think a Pan Flute
As I began to bite, a voice told me to stop
Being quite startled, I let the fruit drop
Saint Peter asked me, "How did you end up here?"
my knees started knocking, I was overcome with fear
Was I bound for Hell, I truly hoped not
I prefer refreshing and Hell is quite hot
Saint Peter was laughing, there had been a mistake
I wasn't bound for Hell, or a fiery lake
It seems I'd been taken, way before my years
I felt so refresed as I shed thankful tears
My body was gone, I needed one new
He promised me one, with no teeth to chew
So down through the clouds, placed into a womb
So warm and cozy, not cold like a tomb
All of my memories, firmly in tact
Until my birthday, when I felt a smack
All thoughts and memory, vanish without a trace
Refreshing new love, found in my mother's face

Couplet
The rays of nature, flowing into the human spirit
landing in its softest spot and sweeping through its lattice
everything then changes with the being becoming a wondrous and happy fool
as romance marries the heart to become one being
In the faculty of love, inexplicable passions are seen
with minty-flavoured affections becoming its dean
all corners of the soul, kept so clean
while the stronghold of selfishness becoming really lean.
Adult mind, stripped by a sense of care quite mean
and to the reaction from the loved, it stays completely keen
emotional susceptibility, becomes its covering like the jean
as the breath of Love, pricks all senses like pin
the effect of its inhale, hindered by nothing
passing through the hollow of feelings no matter how thin
it never feels wrong or else everything good is a sin
so accept this deep breath and let love win

With droplets flip-flapping outside,
The gush of rainfall begins to chime
Unto the soft fragrance of moistened night...
And I tiptoe on naked earth
Savoring this minty nectar,
While a cadence from drizzles invites
My adult- being for a water-dance, a trance
Quite delightful in the cascade of sleet--
Till sunshine appears gliding rowing
Like a dip from heaven's colored pour!

Bright trees in May time , of evergreen lace,
Cuddle larks perched above on twigs , winging
Draped with hued flora all over the place
Each bud, each petal , the anthem of spring.
Feathery the elm robed in velvet bloom,
Gone is Old Jack Winter’s glacial soak
Heralding new cycle’s minty perfume
Inside our garden, now verdant the oak.
Joyful tots with kites rush out to the lane,
Kicking their heels for giggly, cheery flight
Laughter aglow through sweet birdsong’s refrain
Mingled with whirling of bees…such pure delight!
Nothing but sheen lifts the maple , to rise
Offering a burst of charm wrapped in bliss;
Playful the folks that view this morn’s surprise
Quick yet gentle are dreams from springtime’s kiss!

Shape
My memory is obsolete in fashion:
the short blue skirt I saw you in that day
is out of date eons ago. My passion
has cicatrized from when you went away,
but thrifty memory still stores your grey
T-shirt with spots of oil paint, your beret
of modern artist that you used to wear
coquettishly aslant, the bag across
your chest, the thuya needle in your hair,
the band-aid on your knee, the minty gloss
on your sweet cherry lips, the silky moss
under your pliant back, the sassy moth
around my stupid head, the distant laughter,
the flash of bliss, the willow’s leaf embossed
on your left buttock and the most sought after
remembrance of the panties that you lost
in ferns in haste… One day I will exhaust
my recollections but at any cost
I save this one, unclouded and precise,
as my permission to the paradise.

Sunday roast
A meal I loved
for some time not partaken
When Ma was here
Well ~ oh my dear
Served on the dot at one o’clock
And woe betide if we were late
it would be on the table
upon our plate
and steaming hot
Whether we were there or not
Nowadays it’s just for one
Has somehow lost appeal
To sit alone now on my own
I really don’t enjoy
Those crispy roasted spuds
with golden Yorkshire puds
buttered carrots ~ roasted parsnips
on my plate roast leg of lamb
a generous dollop of minty sauce
with thick meaty gravy piping hot
Three cheers for the cook
Three cheers for the host
I can almost taste it ~ I can almost smell it
Ma always cooked the best Sunday roast
Now my grandson is a vegan
his girlfriend she is too
my granddaughter a veggie
oh what am I to do
I cannot beat them
so I will join them
nut roast now my Sunday roast
but I'm still yearning for the taste
of Ma’s on the dot at one o'clock
her Sunday roasts delectable
each mouthful unforgettable...
