The maelstrom keeps pulling me inwards,
Whirlpool's spinning slowly downwards.
My strength is waning quickly;
Hope’s waning silently.
Perceive no rescue;
No help’s in view.
Life I'll misss.
Abyss;
Void

Maelstrom

I heard the drub of rain pelting the roof
Unaware that a storm had been brewing
Roar of thunder, flash of lightning gave proof
that I had no idea, no inkling of what I was doing.

Spirit numbed and body drenched
I ventured into the maelstrom, unaware
or perhaps I didn't care. My eyes were clenched
preventing tears from falling. Loneliness is hard to bear

Sorrow bit at my heels where puddles formed
I swallowed a cry so no one would hear my sobbing
On I trudged while within me the maelstrom stormed
Confusion inside my head, heartbeat throbbing.

Charybdis' whirlpool swirled, trying to drag me in
Crested waves carried me toward its center
The tightrope I walked was a tenuous line
and lost forever I would be if I decided to enter.

On the edge of giving in, I swam for what seemed hours
The surge of flood tide would not claim me tonight
On sanity's shore I sat once more, allowing the showers
to sting my upturned face and have their moment of respite.

"A maelstrom of whirling emotions in me shout,
Penning it down helps me sort it out."
                                          ~ by poet

Man is a jumble of emotions,
A maelstrom of conflicting passions,
Enshrined in his heart are strong notions,
Love, mercy, peace, joyful compassions
Swirl together in mind's deep oceans,
Turmoil in this vortex leads to war,
Restlessness and negative uproar;
Overthinking whirls of thoughts explored,
Maelstrom of feelings in poems poured.

The Tide of the Maelstrom

From seas of green, to darkened woe
The winds do blow the grief
In Maelstrom's tide, to havens low
We waken death from sleep

Harkened to the evening star
The evil calls the foe
Into the tide of the Maelstrom
Into the deep below

Dark haven, cruel Raven
Where shall you then depart?
The whole ship has sunken
Into the whirlpool's heart

The moon will shine from up above
Till darkness ends the light
The moaning mist of deadened love
The sad, lost wings of flight

Demon waters drown the glee
Of all remaining hope
The gift to hear, the gift to see
Left us long ago

Dark haven, cruel Raven
Where shall you then depart?
The whole ship has sunken
Into the whirlpool's heart

Dark haven, cruel Raven!
Where shall you fall tonight?
The whole world is shaken
In Maelstrom's sick delight

this is a story...

of courage
and heroism.
after agonizing months
in captivity, withstanding
the churning maelstrom
of unspeakable horrors
day in, day out;
frequently subjected
to torture, mockery,
psychological warfare, etc,
the long-suffering prisoners of war
miraculously
make a break to freedom.
the great escape,
however,
tasted too bittersweet
to celebrate.
all but one was accounted for
the seemingly impossible
had to be done;
the intrepid soldiers
decide to u-turn back
behind enemy lines
to rescue one of their own,
no matter the cost.
fully aware
they're embarking
on a dangerous mission
that will suck them into
yet another maelstrom of war:
furious exchanges of gunfire -
they surge ahead nonetheless
they have no misgivings
dying by
the "Leave No Man Behind" code,
they live by.

Caught in the maelstrom

A world of darkness and misery
for bewildered and tortured souls
A world where howling winds
reside in vortexes of black holes

A world where hope is just a word
whispered in a soft murmur
A world where psychotic episodes
revel at hopes murder

A world where even light can't penetrate
the dungeons of the imagination
Where friendships and hope are wrecked
on crashing waves of desperation

How can one survive in this hostile world
where hope is hopelessly caught in the maelstrom?
Pray to the God who can resurrect hope
and shelter you from miseries hailstorm!

Malevolent Mental Maelstrom

Fiendish and gruesome phantasmagoric
denizens reigned horns of a dilemma blitzen deer
dwelt deep inside subterranean vault perform an evil dance
haunt psychic landscape with imaginary (yet realistic) vixen
gargoyle visitations that cast macabre trance
nocturnal unconscious invaders cavort and gallivant
     disturb donnor party quiescent sleep
     with devilish and sinister prance.

Apparitions crept stealthily into peaceful slumber receptacle
repository whence illusory landscape of dreams
     take place to rejuvenate exhausted
     body, mind and spirit triage

rent asunder blissful sleep with startled fright
cold sweat drenched nighttime garments and bedding
     teeth chattered uncontrollably
     heart pounded loudly inside chest
nightmarish phantoms wrought an awful ghoulish sight.

Mushroom cloud anniversary triggered
     frenzied gargantuan hallucination
seventy two plus years ago today inauguration
     into atomic age took place
one country after another sought

to acquire demonic and destruction devices
maintain self-preservation in surreal atomic weapons race
impossible to escape the dark threat
heir hilly looms and threatens life on Earth
     one launched missile spells extermination
     across entire global space.

No escape from humankind military machines
    munitions march mean madness
and guaranteed demise to all life
*****Sapiens violent history of bias,
  intolerance and/or prejudice
characterizes vicious warfare and chronic species strife
unaffordable legacy for future (and perhaps alien) archeologists
who will sift thru civilization debris with delicate knife.

Artifacts buried in a heap
   of pulverized and radioactive ash
civilization monuments and hedonistic symbols
gone in a blinding brilliant flash
irksome flotsam and jetsam spewed into outer space
alien nations light years distant collect miniscule bits and pieces
     offer object lesson as extinction
     for beings become excessively brash.

Premium Member Maelstrom

Midst mild and wild tumults like eddy, vortex, swirl, and whirl,
A maelstrom is a summation of curl and twirl and hurl;
Weather and season get amalgamated with currents,
Winds, storms, gales, squalls, haboobs, and wuthers become deterrents;
Vacuum, like caves or tunnels, into hearts of water,
That curve and cleave and crack, and clang and constantly clatter...!

I have never been to the far or deep sea for fishing,
Or for an adventure that involves mind-body squishing;
Corvettes, cruisers, battle crafts, frigates, and great galleons,
Have got gulped by the colossal maelstrom daedalians;
To the courtyards of the sea gods, these underpasses lead,
Wherein, motionless, creatures feel absolute bondage freed...!

Chaos, violence, and ethnic hatred in every form,
A ship-devouring maelstrom as an innate psychic norm;
Regions, regimes, trade, and populace seeking protection,
Religious democracy coming to conscience flexion;
Wanes into vain vanquish; drains virtues into cosmic pain,
Strife to swim against maelstroms is our existential gain...!!!

I Fell In a Maelstrom of Skonivie

I fell in a maelstrom of Skonivie
A blue whale ran after me
                                          She had yellow mustard legs
                                          I hurled mayonnaise at her
And sadly she became a poet.

The Maelstrom

When things seem dark, down, dreary
all you feel is oh so weary.

When all seems bleak, you're about to break,
thoughts are so very deep.

Raining, blowing all over the place
boundless thoughts are streaming
in a seeming embracing race.

The firestorm calms eventually,
dreaming, reviewing, ebbing,
calming; self-love returning.

“She stooped for a stone and dropped it down.

'Fancy being where that is now,' she said, peering into the blackness; 'fancy going round and round like a mouse in a pail, clutching at the slimy sides, with the water filling your mouth, and looking up to the little patch of sky above.'

Maelstrom Song

New music to soothe the savage inside
just incites a riot of rampaging neurons
painful emotional waves coalesce into
a tsunami,
a solid wall of feelings
ready to wipe out
several small villages

it is a nightmare inside him,
unknown by even the closest companion,
he treads twisted, chaos waters;
the smell, jagged pieces, each life lost,
another body with his face,
another decision, already made
a choice
that has not ended well

he plays again
this time
a new harder, more mature
melody.

Into the Maelstrom

(hub bur rigid version.)

All la names bespeaking deity froom
     Noah Mo' Room India Arc
     of Covenant to Blood
     (sweat and tears) of
     San Gennaro devout wowed,
and/or Turin shroud
consonantly demonstrably,
     desperately, faintly, glumly

     yet plaintively, muttered aloud,
no evading the steadily avowed
Atheist approaching funnel
     (dum mental) stormy cloud,
cuz far as the eye could see -
at least by this Beatle browed
     bipedal hominid (north, south,
     east, and west),

     the conical, demoniacal,
     and elliptical endowed
sky high reversed cone, bow wowed
wailing 10,000 maniacs +
     same number of banshees
     wove weft and white
     across wide whirled web
     whereat, the black vortex

     vacuumed everything
     in sight (chowed
down) with loud violent row
dee earsplitting sound everything
within a vast path got plowed
obliterated, and annihilated proud
lee into bajillion smithereens,
     hence mine entire being

     held spellbindingly agog
frozen in place ruff akin
     to well trained dog
without a chance to bark a blog
mired stock still courtesy, sans
     extreme fear comp
     pounded (zero apr) via
     quintessential supreme tear

     roar immovable paralysis
     plus helpless as pollywog
lacking seizure of critical
     whatsapp cerebral cog
as if blinded by a mental fog,
cuz nothing withstood
     the incalculable suction
     emitting barrage of sounds -

     hmm...methinks or imagined,
I heard cry of a hog
amidst the pandemonium,
     plus uproarious, ominous,
     and insidious howl,
though still some
     scant miles removed,
the deafening roar

felt like top of my head
     blasted unable to jog
free (like a bajillion trained
     thundering monsters at log
er heads) these screaming
     quasi nemesis seemingly
     horrifically, and directly
     into my tender ears.

Maelstrom

Maelstrom

In this little hell world,
with its thorns all unfurled,
it seems we are all born to suffer,
subtle as hell,
 fire burning so well,
into the maelstrom we’re hurled.,
plum-duffer,                ( bum soker…dumb fker}

born stupid by chance,
me brains didn’t dance,
just too long out in the rain?
the bloody hot heat,
cooked me brain incomplete,,
 wonder if I'm bloody insane,

but I cannot complain,
bout brainless, de-brained,
as a hell is so subtle, so neat,
we notice it not,
till I bloody forgot,
that we all cop it sweet,
a connection deletes,
 till,
ole Quartpot’s doing his rain dance again.
