Best Made In Heaven Poems
I stand naked by the mirror
Looking at myself
I look like ummm
Something off a dusty shelf
My ribs stick out
You could play them like a harp
And my eyes bulge out my head
Like a half squeezed Chihuahua pup
My legs they call them lucky
They like two fighting swords
I have the knack of amusing people
With them I even won awards
Now my wife is a total contrast
She’s short, fat and round
It takes me three hours to spread the fake tan
But she still comes out unevenly browned
Just the other day I thought
She threw the duvet over me
But when I opened one eye
I saw it was a crusty bikini
I love to watch her dressing
It makes me shake at the knees
I feel like grabbing a handful of ripples
And give them a gentle squeeze
Driving the car is a challenge
Her ripples stop me changing the gear
And when we walk down the street
We look like a shield with a skinny spear
But to her I’m her half finished pepperoni
To me she’s my fluffy bread bun
We always do things together
I’m telling you, we have so much fun
And now I would like to announce
The arrival of baby number seven
We may seem like the oddest couple
But it’s a match made in heaven.

She was lovelier than any bride the church had ever blessed.
A beauty in love with a pure heart.
Her groom was handsome, standing tall and delighted.
The whole church lit up when they saw her walking down the aisle.
Heads swiveled watching him watch his bride.
It was a fantastic match; they had grown up together in the church.
There was no his side and her side, only their side.
The empaths heard harp music as they met at the altar.
Recognizing a heavenly union.
Most of us had never witnessed such a pairing before
or since.

Poor Clem was hanging off the shed rafters,
His angry outback wife strutting underneath,
" You've gotta come down some time Clem,"
Said angry Etta through grinding teeth.
"I've never heard of anything so despicable,"
Poor Clem was hanging on in dreaded fear,
"You think you know a man so well,
Then he goes and takes your beer."

My voice
Alive with tone
Yet sharply censored
By a mind's take on years
Of historical notes
Tongue no longer sweetened
By optomism
Or spiced with
Mischievous humor
Suddenly all I taste is
So dry
So predictably dull
Night steps forward quickly
Like a woman whose
High heels carry her too loudly
Over hardwood floors
I hear her sharp
And definite approach
Darkness surrounds me
Like mink
Soft to the touch
But cruel in creation
I lay my head down
And begin to dream
My lonely place in the
Darkness opens
Like a curtain
To reveal a carnival scene
Where pale pink cotton candy
Weaves itself gracefully
Around paper cones
I taste the
Incredible sweetness
Its pure reminiscent aroma
So filling with the
Portrayal of childhood innocence
A time lost and
So light in texture
I draw the moment in deep
To remember it well
My grandmother is with me now
Baking her rhubarb pie
Picked fresh from the garden
I'm sitting at her table
A bright-yellow vinyl tablecloth
Neatly drapes itself around
Oval-shaped wood
Loud carnival music
Compliments my meal
I open my mouth wide
Grandmother, serving the perfect balance
Of sweet and spice,
Says softly
"Eat child...Eat"
And then walks away
Alone now
I see the faint outline
Of a crowd in the distance
Lining up to take their turn
On the Ferris Wheel
I'm driven to the
Perfectly straight horizon
Vividly painted beyond
And to them
A wise-cracking clown
Accompanies me
Telling off-color jokes
And showing me "the ropes"
On how to effectively
Cut in line
I see my lover
Jeans torn and hair
Perfectly backlit by
The midday sun
He is at the front of the line
He is waiting
For me
All those behind him now
Have grown impatient
After all
It's been
A very
Very
Long time
The clown presses my hand
Firmly to my lover's
Like a rose forever saved
Between brittle pages
And with a wink
Waves goodbye
The crowd is cheering now
As brightly-colored balloons
Lift up
Released
They have found
Their rightful place
In the sky

When God made you,
He knew you had
to be special.
He took the finest
shade of blue to
make your eyes.
He searched and searched
to find the right bright yellow
for your blond hair.
For your mind He
took from the
wisest men who
ever lived.
Most important,
He searched heaven
far and wide,
to come up with
the most perfect
heart to place,
in your little precious
body so you could
give out your love
and be loved by all.

A Marriage Made In Heaven
A marriage made in Heaven
is a picture of God’s perfect plan,
the Father’s choice for this woman
is to be united with His man.
For He had prepared these two to walk together with Him
for the rest of this their lives,
a perfect union of bliss and harmony
and to avoid this ugly thing that it trying to come between them, called strife.
For we chose to see the Father
for our mate upon this earth to stand,
His work we will accomplish together
in a strange and foreign land.
And when our work on earth has ended
I know our Father will call the two of us home,
entering the gates of beautiful Heaven
and throughout eternity side by side, we will roam.

(3/8/13)
The angels gathered in heaven to witness our wedding day
For this was a match made in heaven as they came together to pray
Long before our births-GOD had made this plan
And he had all the angels give a helping hand.
Both of us was born with a half filled heart
For the other half “was completely torn apart”.
He showed us the aches and pains of how love can be
But little did we know- it was part of our destiny.
We both had a part that we knew would never give in
And each battle we fought we would always win.
We knew that one day we would meet our soul mate
And in this belief we had a lot of faith.
The LORD chose our meeting to be an accident that we did not foresee
For he left it to the angels for you to come to me.
Who would have thought that two cars colliding would send our hearts flying?
Never would I have believed in love at first sight, but you captured my soul
And sent my heart in flight.
Two years together and it’s now our wedding day, and this is the moment
Of which I had always prayed.

Roses are dead, triceratops is blue
Vampires would gag at the taste of old you
We are stuck together, both chubby toward totally fat
You are my soul mate; what do you say to that?
Your skin is all wrinkled, but to me you’re a match.
We are suited, we two, as well as any Sasquatch.
Forcing rhymes to show my love is what I am doing today.
Want to come over to my house and whistle and play?
We might both be beefy and age spotted and totally long in the tooth.
But I’m a better match than that girlfriend you used to have –Ruth.
Oh, heck, that old crone is there with you, reading this text?
Forget it now, Romeo. With your attitude I am totally vexed.

teddy bear picnic was in full swing this warm afternoon
six fluffy buddy bears were lively, funny, fully in tune.
laughter ringing around the meadow was crazy happy
they laughed at old stories they all knew; they were so sappy!
war heroes don’t usually come back in such wonderful spirits one said.
these aren’t regular bears, they are angels, no idea they are dead.

Poets Are Made In Heaven
Poets I presume
Are always made in heaven,
Where God formed them all.
Does anyone out there
dispute this fact?

Her Natural Beauty can heal any concussion
I swear she is descended from beauty queens of Prussian
I imagine her soft tambourine voice as a beautiful percussion
Rebecca, My Match Made In Heaven Belarussian
The faint but serene sound of her voice
Her beautiful sounds belong in a choir
It savages a wild animal to be merry and rejoice
Her tone will satisfy any man's desire
Her long slender legs, I am so fond
Her corn silken hair, nice and long blond
Have the guts to ask her out, I feel too nervous
How can I please this Princess; always be at her service
I procrastinate and waste lots of time
Is looking for happiness really a crime
I better ask her soon when I am young and in my prime
Or else I will live in regret and misery for a lifetime
It takes a man such bravery to ask a girl to dinnertime
Why do women make it sound like we did a crime
Rebecca, My Match Made In Heavenly Belarussian
I beg of you to please do not play me like a piano; a percussion

As the zoo opened its doors all the kids ran through the gate
they wanted to see the one-legged chimp who hopped with a gait
Although he had difficulty getting around, he never did sit idle
though he chatted with the chimps it was the gorilla his true idol.
Truth be told I think what drew him was his pungent musky scent
and the way he shared his food, though he didn't have a cent.
The gorilla gave him bamboo shoots because he knew
that it was love he needed, that was nothing new
Needless to say, where the chimp went the gorilla went too
and yes, they were definitely a match made in heaven those two.

In about a million years or so gone by
When I was an apprentice for the big man in the sky
Got promoted to production on the man assembly line
But I got no instruction re the ultimate design
While my Lord made woman with her lady glamour glitz
He made them soft and streamlined with so many tempting bits
But I just kinda struggled with my man assembly kits
I really couldn't figure out where each component fits
But every now and then the boss would come along
And never failed to tell me if I'd got the details wrong
One day he shook his head because the shoulders were too wide
And he chuckled cos I'd left the plumbing on the outside
My master gave me praise for assembling the feet
For ten toes placed, five on each side, he thought was rather neat
The head was where it ought to be complete with ears and face
And apart from those few dangly bits not much was out of place
The only problem was I had just one component left
Couldn't find a place for it which left me quite bereft
My boss then dropped the bombshell that this was all a test
I've fitted nearly all parts but had to use the rest
So it seemed to me that failure was to be my certain fate
The last container's label read one human male prostate
I had a massive problem if my test I was to pass
And so I checked the manual...
Ahhhh!

Nowadays,
in the world of disposable marriages
it is great to see someone be together
for more than a few short years.
I’m seeing a trend
where those not married
in church
have a longer
or perpetual relationship.
Do you see that too?
My thoughts are,
that since the world
was created by God
then everything upon it
is overseen and can be blessed
by God.
Shouldn’t those that take vows
and not break vows,
though not in the church,
still be recognized as being married?
Why must some stand at an alter,
when the world is His to see,
in order to be recognized in union?
After all, I don’t remember
a priest or rabbi in the story
of Adam and Eve.
If being married
outside the church
is a sin, but is confessed,
are you still living in sin?
Isn’t a marriage
that is made in heaven,
a union of two that share
their love and compassion?
Isn’t it the agreement
to be strong and be there
for each other
no matter what?
I say that
a marriage made in heaven
actually takes place in your hearts
and can be seen by all.
