If there should be a pot hole as deep as Satan’s pit
appearing as I’m driving, I’d run right over it!
My husband’s luck is worse than mine, but we’re a package deal.
So every bad thing that befalls him, I can also feel!
One day I lost my best cat ever; needing a new pet,
I looked and looked to find a cat, the best that I could get.
One person getting desperate with no new owner found
was feeling sad he’d have to take his poor cat to the pound.
His cat , though not a lap cat, was pretty, sleek and black.
The guy was leaving town; there’d be no way to give her back!
I like to look to numbers for the logic that they show.
Two negatives makes positive; that’s one true fact I know!
So if a person has bad luck, it stands to reason that
perhaps his bad luck could reverse by having a black cat!!
I got that cat! She loudly purrs, which I find comforting
It’s like my mom is right nearby with lullabies to sing.
The cat’s my charm when in my arms; my luck has turned around,
for she’s become the second best of cats I ever found!
So if with many problems you’re always getting stuck,
just get yourself a big black cat to cancel out bad luck!

Lady Luck ~ (the Nonet)
Tears, shadows that swallow other tears
united and out of control
eyes decompose like soft coal
water, in swimming hole
everglade pistol
celestial toll
river pole
dead soul
pain
~~~~~
All
over
again, pause
deep darken jaws
engraved, digging claws
deteriorating flaws
still alive, eating what was
waste, rain, disabling because
nature lingers, emotional raw
mystic synchronicity
I often sat and wondered when
My luck would take a turn,
I don’t know where or when or how
Or if i’ll ever learn.
But sitting back i told myself
Be patient luck will come,
And with that thought i pushed on through
My troubles were undone.
In time i found it came to me
And swept me off my feet,
It showed me things i’d missed before
A taste of something sweet.
I grabbed and kept a hold of it
Like it was mine to claim,
I took it home and kept it safe
To help my luck remain.
Donald Duck and Daisy Duck
had so much plucky luck
they invested in tranquil park ponds
then meditated swimming alongside fronds !
The tiniest egg
Sanctuary for new life;
Dinner for many.
I roll the dice one more time
One more poker card I ask.
I search for one last dime
Train my face to be a mask.
Luck be a lady tonight
Sinatra singing in my mind.
I clutch the rabbit foot real tight,
Love and happiness I will find.
For life's a roller coaster ride
A simple game of craps,
And just who will decide
Which roads and which maps?
Yet when the final game I play
And I tally up the final score,
King of hearts was not meant to stay
Ace of spades just wiped the floor.
Regretfully I fold my hand
I walk away with a sigh.
Love may be very grand
But the stakes were just too high.
GOOD LUCK, SAM
Shamrocks with green eggs and ham.
Resistance from Sam I Am.
If you offer him gold,
he won’t see the mold.
Leprechauns roar at the sham.
Kim Merryman’s Luck of the Irish Limerick Contest
When everything seems peaceful
and all is going well
you'll find out that Murphy's rules
will grab you like a spell
When you build your money up
a bundle in the bank
and trouble strikes at every turn
then you'll know who to thank
The car you just had serviced
is spewing smoke and oil
the fridge just out of warranty
now watch that good food spoil
Just when you least expect it
Old Murphy will appear
He's cruel enough to make you spill
your last mouthful of beer
At every turn he's waiting
until you think you're safe
the shoes that fit well yesterday
today will make you chafe
Your wallet's in your pocket
at least that's what you think
until its time to pay the bill
then feel your light heart sink
You glide along life's easy way
it's such an easy dance
Until old Murphy comes along
and kicks you in the pants
From my PDF book "Bush Ballads and Bulldust"
Why is it when you go out of your way
To help someone brighten their day
Or solve a problem that has things in disarray
They want to play you as if to say
You owe them in some superficial way
Putting on some kind of poor me display
Overshadowing the kindness you portray
Some are not able to see the good deed
That some people give so freely
They do it because they are able to see
What a difference this would be
For them to help make your day stay in play
Some people lack the ability to foresee
People go out of their way, not for praise
Or to be a standout who wants you to obey
Not to create a cushion for some far off distant day
We do it because we care
When we see someone in dispare
Or life seems to be unfair
When someone is down on their luck
Because everything has run a muck
Feeling like lightning has struck
Then being able to help someone become unstuck
It's just good karma that is our choice to send their way
It doesn't require money
Or a promise you will make it right someday
It simply requires a sincere thank you
A genuine reply without asking why
Understanding that everyone
Has not just left you standing
When your day became way to demanding
Knowing someone went out of their way
To keep your day underway
It's not how we repay the kindness
But rather how we display
All the goodwill that came into play
To help make it through your day
Who is your Muse I wonder, your Lady Luck,
This enchantress dripping from your lips,
Who is this mistress drawing from you the deepest of your lust,
Unfading Desires so strong they leave you in a sweat,
Panting in your dreams nightly to catch a breath.
Oh Astral Darling, won't you dance with her tonight,
Lay her down upon the stars and give her light,
She'll be shinning with your touch,
Oh Astral Baby, won't you kiss her where it hurts,
Let your lips light her on fire, a commet burning bright,
So scortching hot it appears day rather than night.
Who is this Sorcress who captivates your mind,
This lover who has crossed the sands of time,
You say she is beautiful like a Goddess in form,
Describing every moment the love she has born,
A romance rooted in the darkness of your soul.
Oh Astral Darling won't you take her in your arms,
Touch every bit of her skin till shes screaming no more,
Unable to control the ****** that richocets her soul.
Oh Astral Baby won't you make love to her tonight,
Put the entire Galaxy into her eyes, hips arched up,
Lips open wide, burning away the secrets she has inside,
Who is this Muse, this Lady Luck.
Charlie Brown got rocks
In his Halloween treat sack...
Snoopy made them friends
There was a duck down on his luck
Who froze in the back of a truck
When found back in town
They said with a frown
There was not enough down on the duck!
Luck is here and luck is there
The
Only
Source
Of bad luck is lack of good luck,
And
The
Only
Source
Of good luck is confidence so don't
Spend time pondering depression
Because you'll
Feel so much
Better if you
Just keep
Your chin up. I don't like misery
and
I
hate
All of the depression
So please just smile
