Poets are a most talented breed
They write of pain, sorrow and joy
They might write of their own lives
Or of a Spring sunrise
Or of a Pug Dog
Of perhaps grief
Perhaps death
Of Faith
Write
Of self
Of seasons
Perhaps the wind
Or of love gone bad
Maybe a growing love
For the love of their children
Or of a deep dark depression
Yes, Poets are a talented breed
I tried a new form for me and maybe a new form...This is a double reverse Nonet...I hope

I was asking a friend just the other day
If there was anything he'd do to help me on my way
He said he'd like to but I was asking to much
All that stuff in the back of my pickup truck
I haul it around every where I go
Where its gonna end up I don't know
One day I'm gonna get rid of that junk
That stuff in the back of my pickup truck
It's full of broken promises and wasted prayers
A lot of hurt feelings caused by I don't cares
Love gone bad loaded up with pain
Its enough to drive a normal man insane
Every place I go, I think I don't belong
I just can't understand where I went wrong
But people don't care why my life is so tough
Damned that stuff in the back of my pickup truck
Could unload any place, of no use, not very fair
Lord I am on my knees with a foxhole prayer
Please take this hell away from this old drunk
Rid me of the stuff in the back of my pickup truck

Plastic in the plastic bin
Aluminum in another
Food scrapes for compost
Paper bound tight
Glass goes where the glass goes
Am I saving the world
Does it make a difference
Am I doing alright
I cleaned out our bedroom
And found a picture of you
The one with that sly smile
Just a picture of you
I know we parted
I know it was right
But why do I know
I'll stare at your picture all night
Is there a way to recycle
A broken heart
Can you salvage
Each memory broken apart
Can I put in a bin
The first time we kissed
Can I tie and bind away
Every dream every hope every wish
Maybe some other lovers
Can find the treasure we had
Maybe they can reuse our love
And make each other glad
Is there a way to recycle
Love gone bad
Such a waste, hard to replace
When happiness turns sad
Recycling recycling
That's what the world needs
Don't throw love away
Reuse it it's okay
For a love that once was strong
If dusted and cleaned
Can shine in new hearts
That's the magic of recycling.
Table for One
Striding adroitly through the garbled air
Never more debonair and dapper
Drawing the attentions of the curious
Aloof, detached, distinguished
One impulse shy of normalcy
Again without accompaniment, as his own escort
Too honest, too eccentric to play the dating games
Oblivious to the stares and murmurs of the fickle crowd
Destined for another date disaster
Onward into the din of the chattering herd
Keeping a safe distance from himself
No time for amenities, no chance of flirtations or temptations
No corsage to balance the embittered interiors
Wiser in resolve, from vows taken to never again feel
Impervious to the possibility of romance
Undaunted and indifferent,
Masterfully hiding the damage within
Knowing too well the ravages of love gone bad
Never again to experience the horrors of rejection
How many in your party, sir?
One, just one........
Very well, sir. This way..........
Table, table for one..........
Spaces between us have been filled with ghosts and silence. I've digged a grave an I'm prepared for a burial of good love gone bad. My body's soft enough to feed the earth, but not kind enough to be kept.
Horizons and waiting become closer and shadows turn to sand. Desert's burn with the sun, but chill with the night. Lessons with love become reborn and I'm prepared to always be left behind by someone I love.
On worse days I tell myself, "There's nothing you've ever wanted, but you'll fail if you never put a foot forward". On best days I tell myself, "No one was ever good at destroying you than yourself and that just isn't right".
Mirrors are smoked and truths become lies that pour from your mouth. Fables are tales of a hopeless romantics mind and fairy tales are made to murder little girls minds.
Still here
Still here
Still here I scream underground
But no one ever heard a sound or word I spoke when I was around
He vowed to love her forevermore—
But already forgot her trivial name.

Epigram
My Stuff
Had some friends
Advise me to go
Said I been acting strange
Past week or so
First I declined
But then, I said alright
Signed into the group
For councelling night
This be my story
Of what I seen there
The faces of dismay
Eyes with blank stare
On every table
A box of tissues
For no real resolve
Of people's issues
Heads turned my way
As a man called on me
I had rehearsed already
What my words would be
From the chair I stood
Stated my name
Introducing myself
The reason I came
Voice solid
Straight to the point
I'm not into drugs
Nor hooked on a joint
It isn't the bottle
Or nicotine
But I am an addict
The worst you've seen
I had their attention
And so I sat down
Continued my speech
All intently bound
It's not depression
Getting to me
But I need my stuff
Or I'll go crazy
This isn't a story
Of a love gone bad
But if history you want
Now that I've had
When my hands get shaky
And break in a sweat
It not from gambling
Or placing a bet
I am an addict
No worse will you see
I need my Yeshua
I bet that sounds crazy
Ain't no cure
For what I got
Ain't no pill
Ain't no shot
So there it is
I was asked to leave
The condition I had
Nobody believed
Hey, that's cool
I'll find the door
For I neither the need
To look back any more
Cause there ain't no cure
For what I've got
Not a pill
Not a shot
I'm just an addict
The worst you've seen
Cause I need my Yeshua
If you know what I mean
To truly forgive is more than just
a few words off the tongue
More important are the actions
that so loudly then are sung
What is forgiveness and who has
found this action of the heart
That shapes the spirit of the bitter one
in whom those feelings start
A lifetime of misery is in store
if you cannot shake the past
When those that enter into your life
will truly never last
For the memories of a love gone bad
will haunt the very soul
And cause you to refuse to live your life;
it takes its toll
The heart will grow more calloused towards
the ones who enter in
And ugly words will soon ensue
to build the walls within
A parting of the ways will then
give in to hanging on
Thus causing pain and agony;
another loved one now has gone
A life's lesson for those of us that have a hard time forgiving.

I hold on to my memories
Review things from my past
Sometimes they speak "release me"
Never meant to last
Life has a way of moving on
In the midst of changing days
I find myself just letting go
In the mending of my ways
There will be things that remain
They were truly meant to be
Embroidered in the fiber of being
Not meant to be set free
Release the pain you sense within
Those scars from love gone bad
Rejoice in what will bring you joy
And cast away things sad
Letting go of yesterday
Today you have no fear
Enjoying life from here and now
It all becomes quite clear
We all let go to find release
In all the things we do
It helps in finding inner peace
Embracing what rings true
Air is used for helping blow
Up balloons so they can grow
Into something beautiful
Pretty and so colorful
Like love should be when you find
The love always on your mind
Which is not the case for me
You just cause me misery
The air surrounding me is stale
Your love is an epic fail
That just breathes a lot of air
Of gloom, darkness and despair
There is nothing really pretty
Of marks that you leave on me
Symbols of a love gone bad
This is not the love we had
Colors no longer exist
Black and blue from your fist
That leave me wondering why
You would want to make me cry
Balloons blow up every day
But too much force will take away
Their beauty as they go pop
Like you did with my poor heart
Forcing way too much power
On it causing the horror
Of it blowing up from the
Anger and brutality
That you daily are displaying
And I am the one who's paying
As this air of meanness spreads
Messing with my heart and head
The tears I’ve cried over our love gone bad
The sleepless nights and days spent being sad
You’ve been there with me through thick and thin
Now I wonder before bed where you have been
I see you in my dreams, handsome and tall for me
Then suddenly you are the man I want you to be
You grab me and hold me; I am safe from the storm
Inside your strong embrace, I’m loved and so warm
I suddenly wake up and I am in this bed all alone
If only I could leave this place and come back home
You can make me happy
when I am sad
Your eyes will never glisten
till our love comes back
Say things to me
has our love gone bad
I try to think straight
but I’m always off track
These waves in our sea
are for only you and me
So take this deep love
and cherish it with me
Your spark always shines
in the weakness of lust
As my heart beats by thousands
as the day turns to dusk
Life without you
would be so untrue
Cause I never wanna find the time
to make love
with anyone but you
What kind of poem should I write today?
Maybe something that makes you cry
Or maybe I'll write of happy things
So no one will have to die
Maybe I'll write of a love gone bad
Of broken hearts and dreams
Or maybe I'll write of nightmares
Where darkness is filled with screams
Maybe I'll write a political prose
Where everyone has a voice
Or maybe I'll write of abortion
Pro life or maybe pro choice
Maybe I'll write of memories
That fade away through time
Or maybe I'll write a sonnet of love
Where heartbeats always rhyme
What kind of poem should I write today?
Maybe the seasons, the coming of fall
Or maybe I'll keep my feelings inside
And just write nothing at all
Did you know that every teardrop
Has it's own story to tell
Sometimes of a love gone bad
Or a heartfelt sad farewell
Sometimes, we cry tears of joy
Or even tears in pain
And sometimes, on our pillows,
Our tears will leave a stain
We've cried tears of sadness
Or when smoke gets in our eyes
Sometimes, it's a broken heart
Or when a loved one dies
Sometimes, we laugh so hard
Our eyes will flood with tears
Tears can have a healing power
That will even calm our fears
Sometimes, when we're crying,
We'll wear a thin disguise
But you don't have to hide your tears
For everybody cries
