Start at the start
ask your questions
Although I’m no priest
I will hear your confession
Divulge your sins
no judgement or correction
Within my skeleton closet
I have my own sin collection

Off the mirror of my silvered mind
 you might witness your reflection
Dive deep into my psyche
I’ll gladly offer protection
Our humanity is sacred
within it find connection
Choose what power you need
embrace our connection

Access to my mind
is translucent screen thin
A bridge across the distance
you can easily gaze within
I’ll instinctively grasp your hand
I’ve been where you’ve been
So let’s start where we’ve started
before the barrier of sin
Together finding treasures
hidden within

No need to worry
or regret your choice
I wholeheartedly embrace
the sound of your voice
You offer me mystical music
free from vibrational noise
I hear and listen to you
free willingly by choice
Heart being deeply touched
Joyful eyes become moist
Together our inner children play
as we both rejoice

Feel your heart beating slower
As your breath becomes shallower
There is strength in release
it connects you to your power
A life can change in a moment
or be transformed in an hour
So rise up, climb up
to the top of the tower
At the edge of the universe
light up the night sky
You are born to be
a transcendent meteor shower.

Premium Member Empathetic Fairy

Among the dandelions empathetic fairy listened to misunderstood squirrel.
She made no suggestions, sat quietly, in silence, nodding sometimes.
Showing him how valuable a good listener can be.
Especially one who does not interrupt to ask questions.
He concluded for himself the answer as he watched her watch him.
It was the best council he had ever received.
And in silence.
Empathetic fairy had helped him fix his problem
Without contributing one word.

I'm the original Super Hero
Called the "Listener", I hear every word
I'll let you talk for many hours
What you say will always be heard

There are many who offer solutions
With the "Listener" it's not about talk
When you desire to become unburdened
I'm more than just a friend, I am your rock

I will help you escape from the shadows
By listening I usher you to the light
When others choose to make judgements
I'm not concerned about being right

With me hours they feel like minutes
You'll marvel as we travel through time
Passing through the doorway of hope
On a feast of happy you will dine

Listening is often underrated
Today I pass these powers to you
When the masses are all about talking
Every one of them will be needing you

So now go to the world with your powers
Offer compassionate ears and be kind
Carry on the torch of the "Listener"
You are the best kind of friend they will find

Premium Member A Listener

She’s a listener. Yes, she is.
Eye to eye and with sincerity;
With no patronizing interruptions
Until the issue has gained clarity.

A little tilt of her pretty head
Means she doesn’t really understand,
But offers her attentive ear;
Her silence is a helping hand.

I talk it out. She listens.
Sooner or later, I have a plan.
The results are mine to claim.
She only listened, took no stand.

Who else would have listened,
Tolerated my babbling for a time?
Good fortune it is indeed
That kitty is a friend of mine.

New York City is where people who are
disappearing go. It is very quiet
here, silent. A man and woman
made love below me. I could hear
the bedsprings ringing and the
woman singing in sensual pain.
My thoughts sped up as they humped
faster. Everything is dead in my room
except me and my plants. If I keep
on identifying my feelings with the
feelings of things, I too will be dead.
They are talking and laughing now. His deep
voice vibrates the air. Her laugh
is like water.

Premium Member Smooth Rock Listener, Daily 20

20: To tramp lightly isn’t enough for a true tramp
Wellness can’t wash old scars;
But you pretend that lightly is enough--
Because the wave washes the top of your toes
During the quiet times by the water’s edge.
The round rocks are smooth listeners.

Silent Listener

You art thou! Indeed - marvelous
You captured my thoughts with love
I see your eyes sparkle - twinkling
I endeavor your true personality
remarkable - I 'm in awe - tremendous
Reflections in my mind - are imbedded
An image in my soul - awakens me
I am alarmed - I weep no more
Spontaneously - I choose to say
Halt - I tell you I love you
You listen - speaking no words
I tell you - you are my dream
Beautiful - I lay my eyes on you
Images still of beauty it may then seem
I know - I've accomplished this
My feelings they runneth over
I put it to the test - I state
The challenges I ponder, I wrote
To you I boast my character
I tell you I seek the words
To also create the imagery
Writing wisdom through thoughts
I see the beauty in that personality
The reflections so glamorous , beauteous ART!
Relationships should they ever start
I see you charming in my day
Thus what else or what else would I do?
Just look at yourself being you!

Was Jesus a Listener Or a Talker

Was Jesus a Listener or a Talker?
Once upon a time, mouth and ears were in a great debate, of who was the most import and added the most value. Mouth said if it weren’t for me, ears would not have a job to do. Mouth said “I am able to alert people, I am able to comfort people. I am able to say beautiful things like “I love you”.

“I feel like I have the edge on importance. That being said, I think that’s my case for being the most important”. Now ears said “I listen very attentive and carefully to what all you had to say, and I believe if it wasn’t for ears, everything that you said would be wordless”.

Ears further stated “yes I heard all that you said, and I gave value to it, but a lot of what I heard; I discarded and deleted, so that it could not be processed”. So the conversation went on for quite some time, but finally both agreed; that mouth, the greatest of all you said and do, is when you pray.

And the ears said “the almighty ears, hears all of your most important words that come from the heart”. In final conclusion the mouth said “from now on, whatever I say will come from the heart”.

And the ears said “from now on everything that I hear, I will hear from the heart.” And they all lived happily thereafter.

Listener

White knuckled, holding harder never held anything down.
Empty tides ripped her under, promises never honestly allowed
and those white knuckles held to hope and thunder raged inside her heart,
fell right back to the bottom, seeking desperately new starts,
but she felt the heat and the waves and it swept her every day,
farther and outer, slipping farther away
from the hopes that she’d kept close, wanting to keep them at bay
cause nothing ever came from any unchanged, distorted ways
and no bone ever stays unbroken, not in this body anyway.
These fractures aren’t fading when time comes to seal the cracks,
she doesn’t see it a solution for lying on her back.
Her spine fashioned from paper, it’s water soluble at best
and every time she tries to stand she needs another rest
and fixing’s a fix when there’s a new solution every way
cause they come in and she lets go, at least until the very next day.
Direction couldn’t come back quicker, chasing hellbent better ways,
but heaven couldn’t bring her close with demons where she’d lay.
So she gave them all her bests and held even harder still
to the hopes and empty promises they’d never meant to fill.

Bio Modified - Logophile Listener

Logophile
A talk therapist, a friend, an amateur poet and an introvert
In love with a smile, eyes and languages
With the ideas for images, photography and calligraphy
To palliate the feelings of low, listless and lonely
Aggravated by the fears of walls, sufferings and inhumanity
That makes me like to travel, speak and love
Aided by being a resident of India, the land of six seasons

Premium Member I Am a Listener and a Jumper

Leftie I was and leftie I be.
I never watch stupidity on reality TV
Except Married at First Sight
Which gives me delight
I am a hippie, a gypsy, a faerie, I flee….
From those who have absolute ideas, for they frighten me.

My ideas are flexible,
I am a listener, and a jumper.
I jump from this to that easily,
Fearful of the thumpers and stumpers.
I am the most liberal liberal I know, and I know many for sure
I have over fifteen hundred Facebook followers, so eclectic and pure.

I run from those who want me to believe in their ways
I follow my heart, and my spirit guides, dancing through my days.
My spirit animals are there, I am open to empaths galore.
They are my kind of people.
Absolutists I abhor.
I do not hate anyone, or want anyone to have any harm.
Love is the key I think, it is part of my charm.

Keen Listener

O, an amazing woman she is!
She has heard my heart’s cries, thoughts, and questions,
without ever raising her voice or eye brows.

Once as a drug addict, she heard my heart shout “I can’t take it anymore!”
so many times. Like an angel seeing through a mortal’s wounded soul,
she looked at me with a warm smile, and told me that everything
would be alright….

She heard my heart’s pain and despair,
when the rest of my world came crumbling on me; a letter of suspension
for drug use and possession in college, a girl embarrassed to love me, myself
a laughing stock around my colleagues, and a father who was ready to show
me the door.

A decade later, I realized she was right!
Everything now is alright!
Her love is irreplaceable!

Putting a mask at the side of my face,
Wearing it so that I feel in place.
I'll open my ears, so tell me everything;
If something is bothering you, I'll do anything.

Playing the game as the listener, always the same,
"Hey, hi there, how are you?" But do you remember my name?
Suffering on the other side of the mask, but I see,
You know the one who has helped you, not the one true "Me."

Growing distant, I hear my heart cracking, but I ask "How was your day?"
It makes me truly happy when you say "I'm okay."
When I hear those words, I know that I'm doing my best,
But there's nothing for the weary, though I really need to rest.

Playing the game as the listener, always the same,
Crying out once again and forgetting my name.
Wipe away the tears and help whoever looks down,
Because I know my voice will never make a sound.

Loosing myself in the world, I'll close my listening ear,
But I know that it's selfish, so for you, I'll be here.
I know it's just a dream, but maybe one day, one day,
I'll find the person who will tear this mask away.

Playing the game as the listener, always the same,
When I felt warmth, I started to remember my name.
The person I had listened to once, to make it fair,
They ripped off the mask...
