I meander past a rippling stream,
my hair blowing in the wild wind;
was that my name being called, softly.
did it sigh in the tangled trees above,
I twirl and swirl to only bird songs;
my name is but an echo, fading.
mother where are you, mother,
wait, wait, I am coming, wait for me;
but only silence sighs, whispering.
I wake suddenly in my hospital bed,
lost in a sea of pain drifting;
gasping and struggling and breathing.
I was lost in a vivid dream,
where I was searching and seeking;
then I lay still in my bed, moaning.
"From deep within my heart
I always catch the scent
of my Beloved. How can I
help but follow that fragrance?"
~ Rumi
You're gone, but when a gentle breeze blows my way
I sigh, breathing the floral fragrance of your perfume.
I remember your smile, and it makes my mind stray
to your garden where lavender continues to bloom.
Now, darkness looms around me in shades of gray.
No longer do I walk among wildflowers in the field,
for it would remind me of days I picked you a bouquet,
declaring my feelings. With a kiss, our love was sealed.
So delicate was your redolence. Velvety soft, like you.
Such a tender flower that blossomed but is no more.
Now my life is simply something I must muddle through.
You were taken from me, and your death, I deplore.
Your scent clings to my memory, lingers in my dreams.
It will never be washed away, even in torrential rains.
At night I cannot bear to see the light of moonbeams.
Without you, they fill my heart with bittersweet pains.

a smile lingers in the shadows
memory has found a refuge
in darkened corners
at the end of long hallways
where remembrances have long fled
it has become an attic dedicated
to the betrayals of a life
once filled with promise
sitting in the park with a new hand
we are watching the Trumpeter Swans
hunted to almost extinction
they are slowly returning in numbers
life is as such
we heal and begin anew
love has many scars
it also has a promise
it lives again in a hand shared
love never gives up
it is a gift always present
life can at moments drag us
into memory at any juncture
but like a cat's balance, we land level
nature is like that
i see as much in her smile
as these large swans pass
her smile blushes the sun
my heart sings in that light
it fills all of my values
to this day
the world will never tire
of silly love songs
and God never leaves us alone
as the Trumpeter Swans glide away
the day is rich in memories to unfold

Deep in the forest he lingers
Not a fire, not a light to be seen
No relief for his icy-cold fingers
No bed for his back, tall and lean
Not a fire, not a light to be seen
Yet he sits there as the crickets sing
No bed for his back, tall and lean
But no matter, for he is no king.
Yet he sits there as the crickets sing
Closes his eyes and whispers her name
But no matter, for he is no king,
A betrothal would only bring shame.
He closes his eyes and whispers her name,
No relief for his icy-cold fingers
A betrothal to him would only bring shame
So deep in the forest, he lingers.
obsessive love is hard to shake,
of love n hurt no distance makes,
better still the embers rake,
yes love must have its fill,
past lingers with the sweetest thrill,
but i still hesitate...
Don
the spring air is damp
the sun false in its brightness
spring is a mirage
as winter's coldness lingers
I look at the sun and dream
It’s good to know there’s still a few
Deep thinkers, roundabout;
Those who are unafraid to speak their minds
Of certainty or doubt.
To disagree with you and me
About religion, politics and war;
It’s good to know there’s still a few
Deep thinkers at the door.
Where disagreement and discussion
Are two poles that intertwine
And listening before talking
Is in tune with God’s own mind.
Though we may not always be
Right, wrong or other-(wise);
As the distance between two points
Cannot always be perceived with just two eyes.
The mileage is in the journey
And we’re all visitors around here;
It’s good to know there’s still a few
Deep thinkers with hopes and fears.
Standing on the precipice between
The past and now, today;
While time is fleeting with the wind
Deep thinking lingers in the clay.
Ye poets are deep thinkers
Hats off to you and I;
And I pray you disagree with me
Until birds no longer fly.
Coming back from a college class, feeling tired
I crawl on top on my bed for a midday nap and slip into a blissful sleep. Aroused from slumber, my bed shaking violently and turning , I expect to see a human, recognizable and known to me. Familiar and welcome.
There is no one.
Checking to see I am awake
Checking to see if I am alone.
Checking my mental state to find derangement.
Nothing .
Dismissed,
I start to slip into the slumber and it shakes again. I am hyper alert
Wide awake. I ask myself Is it really shaking
Yes.
My eyes open and I go to rebuke what this is and it enters without warning-
In through the top of my head following a path leading to where my soul resides, it screams at me in foreign tongue.
Computerized, synthesized, screeching and vile.
The voice drips with evil, hate and threatens to touch the core of my human essence.
I am in danger of replacement.
I am being hijacked for this body
My soul runs from this entity and screams for our maker to witness this violation, to raise His sword at this reptile, to help me fight the unseen.
It is forced back out through the top of my head and I lay there sweating, panting, contorted. Violated.Impure.
Tainted and broken, I feel terrorized.
At my next sleep, I am awakened to find I cannot move my body- only my eyes and I hear that voice laughing at me. Mocking me. Reminding me he is there, stalking me and waiting for me to drop my guard.
The worst part of it all friends....
This story is true.
6 seconds. Changed me for eternity.
Take heed. This really happens to people.
They call this a " walk-in". Soul interchange.
Where a human soul is replaced with a demon.
So yes, they walk amongst us.
When you wonder how people can do some of what they do-
Now you know- because they aren't people.

A
single
rose adored
from a bouquet
of many that chime
One, exciting pleasure
Yawn early dawn arousing
Erect scents and beauty lingers
Chest engraved by your biting prickles
Surrendering to just one single rose

Tears smudged face
Sparkles in my eyes
Fears the spanks the cane paced
The treasures she offered whole
When I was small
Shared laughter, fears and dreams
She hardly rest but beside my sick bed?
Holds herself like a sandalwood tree
A pillar, a tower which my arms could spread
When my tears shed
Now withered and shrunken hands
Still hugs me and cuddles in a curly band
Her starry eyes look deep into mine
With pretty rosy lips she smiles
Breast filled with divine love never weaned
From Womb to tomb, I lean
I’d like to be what lingers
while you sleep:
the smell of jasmine
and the drops of rain
that cling
to trembling leaves.
I’d like to stay with you,
when you are far away
on private journeys.
The emotions you stir are deep within.
Emotions so risque surely they're a sin.
Please close your eyes and feel me near.
I want to hold you my precious dear.
Laying next to you as you go to sleep.
This pleasant dream is yours to keep.
I am looking into your pretty face.
Filling my heart with your sweet grace.
My warm hand glides across your skin.
Then I see you begin to bear a grin.
Your body responding to my gentle touch.
You are wanting more of me so very much.
I softly kiss your full lips and cute ear.
My wanting you sweet heart is all you hear.
I gently place my lips upon your neck.
Your heart and body are at my beck.
Our pulses race together as we kiss.
The passion we share is an abyss.
I trace your sexy lips with my finger.
The taste of them on my tongue lingers.
My body aches for your sweet caress.
Breath caught in my throat as you touch my breast.
Take me, I'm yours, just don't break my heart.
I crave you like a drug, and I don't want to be apart.
The need for our bodies to be one is oh so strong.
Is my want for our bodies to touch wrong?
Your body above mine, my legs around your waist a must.
I beg for you to be in me and you enter with an aggressive thrust.
I cry out in pleasure as my body responds to you.
Our bodies entwine as a gratifying rhythm grew.
We kiss passionately as you grab a handful of hair.
This much pleasure is almost too much to bear.
All night we make love, as we tire and fall asleep.
When we wake I only ask if you're mine to keep.

Even when we are apart, I feel you, deep inside of me
Your love is a raging fire, so strong
it leaves an afterglow even when you're gone.
The warmth of your afterglow lingers, heating me to the core
Your essence penetrates me, fills me up through the pores
Even when I'm cold outside, I'm warm inside, because of you
My heart beats in time, counting the days, when we'll be together
but,
No matter how much time passes my love won't grow cold
because our love is a fire, my heart burns with desire,
ignited by the embers that linger, from your afterglow.

Honorable mention
It hasn’t been so long, you know.
Since I saw, your eyes aglow.
. . . They smiled a little smile for me.
You had your joy, you had your fun.
You had fifteen seasons in the sun.
. . . I didn’t know that you would leave me.
The backyard swing still sways lonely.
Since the day you rode it boldly.
. . . Save a swing sway there for me.
The more and more I think about you.
There was magical love all around you.
. . . The room is now empty, except for me.
Your love is in the trees, wind and snow.
Yes in the streams when I watch them flow.
. . . Heartache and regret, still follow me.
I’m sorry, I never spoke of the little details.
You were so busy with songs and puppy dog tails.
. . . I wish it were, six carryin’ me.
Written for a girl of nearly four. My son was born at the same time my lady friend had twin girls born, and I babysat all 3 quite often. One girl had neuroblastoma [cancer of the blood] and so I also helped them for her last 2 years, Kristen always had a smile, even as she lay with her body of orange, slowly passing.
Peaches plumb perfection
Put peeled pickled and pleasing
Fruit fresh for freezing
Icecream in innocent
Hands has hundreds of hugs
Peaches perfection
Love light and lasting
Eternal ecstasy everlasting
Taste tongue to tummy totally tantalizing!
Smell the scent, senses soaring
Fragrantly frolicking face to face
Final fun frozen forever
Luscious love lingers!
