Best Lay An Egg Poems

Happy Easter Everybunny

I've wondered how a tiny seed,
could make an Apple tree,
but after taking science,
It's simple as can be!

Then I wondered how Columbus,
knew the earth was round,
but history answered that for me,
Without a single sound.

'Course I had a lot of trouble,
understanding about the sea,
but Geography knew the answer
"Twas easy then for me.

Now I'm really awfully smart,
and for answers seldom beg,
but now I have to ask,
"How does a Bunny lay an egg"?

The Sisterhood of the Ziploc

Starving a fever,
stuffing a cold I'm following
happily that old
advice: pumpkin pie,
coconut cake, excellent
for easing any ache.
O Chochona!, it's pneumonia,
so much chicken soup
from friends in the coop,
dark and white, breast
and leg have me almost
ready to lay an egg.

It has been said that we are,
A quiet, curious, sweet bird, full of personality;
We have tons of sisters (brothers) and a mom and father with no feathers,
Love our seed, food scraps and treats given daily;
Feel loved, protected and cuddled, so we lay an egg or two each day,
Our biggest fear is becoming dinner;
Would like to live to be over 20 years old,
Resident of grandpa's farm;
Barnyard chickens.

When I was a small girl, my grandpa had a little farm,
It was not a working farm but a retirement dream of his;
He had some animals like horses, chickens and even a donkey,
But, I truly loved his chickens they were super-duper sweet.

Our father was a nice old man called grandpa,
And there was mother grandma, who brought treats;
But, we loved the little girl the best because she cuddled us,
From the time we were fat little handfuls of adorable cuteness.

They were such happy birds, extremely calm,
When I would bring their seed they would come running;
Clucking all the way, so talkative, cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck,
They were cuddly with feathers beautifully soft and lovely.

It was a wonderful, peaceful existence for us chickens,
Grandpa's farm was full of interesting places to go;
Like grandma's garden patch and she would come running,
Chasing us with her broom but laughing, so we knew she loved us.

Oh, time has passed, the pages turned, and turned,
Grandpa and grandma are in their heavenly realm now,
And I am not a small girl anymore, but a city girl all grown-up,
After grandpa died, grandma sold the farm, animals and chickens.

But, I will always remember those inquisitive, beautiful birds.

The bunny came and hid the eggs
since he’s mammal the question begs
	where did they come from?
	did he buy lump sum?
wonder what he’d do with frog legs?

What’s with the chicks following him?
maybe they’re there on a wild whim
	difference in age?
	large, I’d wage
but I am not a judge of them.

Then there is the most obvious question
if Easter Bunny is male, concession,
how could he lay an egg
	down his long trouser leg?
I think I need a therapy session.

Go and Lay An Egg

A house trained duck could run amok in even the most tightest fitting apron but alchemy weaving leathers are best placed on legs measuring over an acre. It is to be acclimatised to a storm pattern syndrome of striped sun on a grey background but it could also be ascertained that travelling backwards at high speed down a motorway slip road is best achieved carrying one potato, a giant melon tree, and a tricycle. For to dare is to do and to do is to drop dig dreaming dramas dramatically. And to add to such fine grammar one might also assume that a locked gate is as abhorrent as a shut and bolted door. For it is as the horse trots. As the pig whistles. And as the barn creaks. That the fine acrylics begin annual waltzing duties with the glasses of peanut juice. Great. How very marvellous that is. Is it not the hidden virtue of every acolyte that hides the hidden and haves the heaving holders? Is it to be beholden or frenetically ejected via pulsation? The sanctimonious baby sea lion is sat on a third angled throne. In deep contemplation but writing memoirs to a shoal of snowmen is often a worthwhile endeavour. Painful plant pot planting pickles. And a wonderful world wide deity in an orchestrated diagrammatic map. Oh how poignant the points of the programmable playlist playing pianos. And yet the mop moves monotonously and the cloth cleverly cleans. Fantastic news for frog shop fans at a baseball game. Ha. Now send that sponge by rail not plane. The Day I Laid Egg

The day of torment
House so tense and humid
Eagerly expecting trouble

Death just at my door
Armed robbers’ eyes with blood stain
Yearning; ‘lay an egg or be killed.’

I shouted--- kaak kaak preparing to lay an egg

Lying on my pot belly
Air no longer fresh--- impure
It was sulphur hot--- I started pushing
Due to fear, I had to lay an egg; at least one

Eyes of theirs flooded with laughter
Gun dull nozzle points the floor--- their fingers at me
Giving me a chance---look at this hen hahaaa heehee hiiihiiii
Safely, I left money and escaped with-
--eyes on my buttocks

“Don’t take candy from a stranger,”
My mother said,
Unless you’re dressed like Frankenstein
With a hideous mask on your head.

If Christmas is about a baby’s birth,
Why do we buy trinkets and bobbles,
For all daddy’s worth?

When that baby died,
And rose from the dead,
To celebrate they told me,
A rabbit can lay an egg.

La Cucaracha

La Cucaracha

By Elton Camp

It’s not out in the cold where cockroaches hide
But in warm, moist homes they prefer to reside
If you’ve got them now, but never had ‘em before
They may’ve arrived in a sack from the grocery store

Be assured that if you see them when it is still daylight
You’d be horrified if you should check during the night
They will detect you and quickly scurry across the floor
If you see a few, know that there are many dozens more

Water’s a weekly need that makes them regularly come out
They live a month without food, or somewhere thereabout
Cut a cockroach’s head off and it won’t be quick to die
If no mouth, it can’t drink water is the basic reason why

Don’t be fooled since clean houses may have roaches too
There are more in dirty ones because there’s more to chew
American cockroaches reproduce at a terribly shocking rate
The female need mate only once to get to the starting gate

Every two or three days, the female roach will lay an egg sac
And horrors, into each one, about twelve babies she will pack
If, at night, you walk the kitchen floor and hear a crunch
The one that you killed is representative of a larger bunch

‘twas the night before Christmas at this North Carolina farm,
The chickens were cackling, so the roosters, they’d charm.
Never had I discerned how the stars could reflect such calm,
It almost seemed like God was writing His Christmas psalm.

As I lay down in my bed to rest my thoughts and take a nap,
I heard the roosters crowing because of the bright giftwrap.
Though I was certain that their mates would still lay an egg,
Memories of dinner haunted with thoughts of the last chicken leg.

Finally, I tumbled out of my bed and went to the kitchen,
I decided to leave Santa eggs so the hens could all pitch in.
Scrambled and boiled, they were a pretty sight on that dish,
And it wouldn’t be long before I was making a Christmas wish.

Hoping old Saint Nick would leave me some tractor fuel,
So I might work through dawn with that handy jewel.
I headed to my Christmas list, to write down oil and gas,
But was left with a heavy pen when I saw that empty milk glass.

Santa had already been to the farm, and left me some tools,
But these shovels and rakes were more fit for strong mules.
I couldn’t possibly make it another year without some petroleum,
Therefore, I made my way across the kitchen linoleum.

Chickens and roosters, cows and mules, all the farmer’s friends
Remember that Christmas when Santa left so many odds and ends.
There was no doubt, Christmas was bringing out the best in him,
Because as I fell into a deep sleep, I heard him singing a hymn.

Christmas psalms would last forever here on this farm,
We need not worry, there is always hope and no need for alarm
The God of love, came down from above, to remind Santa Clause…
Jesus is the reason for the season – Christmas’ true cause!

THE LADY - MY FEATHERY FRIEND

Here is a poem I wrote (photo's of THE LADY, chicken,
on my Instagram account daisymeadows2023. Photo's
 by @leebrewin)

THE LADY (the chicken) - MY FEATHERY FRIEND

THE LADY
I wake up in the morning,
In the eglu, warm and safe from harm,
I will cluck along until you let me out,
Lee, you don't need an alarm!!

LEE
*It's The Lady!! ", I said,
But just let me have 5 more minutes please,
To rest my weary head!!
Then I will let you out,
Even though you got me out of bed!!
I will set you free,
To roam around the garden,
Where you keep me company.
You like to go foraging,
And I feed you mealworms,
Then you go dustbathing,
To protect your feathers from germs.

THE LADY
Later, you go back inside your home,
I jump up at the window,
Won't you let me in??
Lee looks shocked, standing there,
And smiles with a grin.

LEE (goes back outside)
Wondering around the garden together,
Being outdoors and free,
Enjoying the fresh air,
The Lady and me.
Don't worry, my feathery friend,
You won't end up in a stew,
I will protect you,
And look after you.

THE LADY
So grateful,
To be looked after by you,
Having warmth, food and freedom,
Just to say,, "Thank you,"
In my eglu nest,
I lay an egg or 2,
Happy days!!

Mass Burial

mass burial
we did nothing
to deserve brutality
is not our hopes
to shade this tears
in public
where have we gone
too wrong to deserve
this atrocities
for every blast we die
in multitude
for every egg of fire
we own a
mass burial

this is cry's in the city
another steal bird has just
lay an egg from the sky
another animal has just
blast innocent humans? again
and now we have a
mass burial

mass burial
we long lived
peace full
never we intend
to lay our own
people in multitude
six feet
we have been
existing peace fully?
before this stranger's
came in
first they came as friends
and now we are in hell
from this friendship
as our life are devalued
right in front of our view
as this strange friends
keep robbing and killing
our dignity
and when we try
to fight back
they turn steal bird
so each egg it lays
curse us a
mass burial

their is crys in the city
another steal bird has just
lay an egg from the sky
another animal has just blast
innocent humans again
and now we have a
mass burial

mass burial
what shall we do
when all we know
how to do is maintain
peace
so we choose to stand
up for our right
despite they keep
killing us in multitude
we believe they can't kill
us all
so the brave say keep moving
don't gave up the fight
for peace
don't gave up your right
is not a crime to be free
yet as we fight
we lay somany of our
own to sleep forever
when ever the steal bird
lays an egg is a
mass burial

their is crys in the city
another steal bird has just
lay an egg from the sky
another animal has just blast
innocent humans again
and now we have a
mass burial

mass burial
we live with a religion
of truth
under the foundation
of love we knew
the value of peace
not until our land was
invaded attacked
while our walls were
painted with blood
so we choose to defend
our selves
i wonder if that is a crime
yet while we stand our
ground
it cost is painful
as it out come brings a
mass burial
at the end of the day
i know one day it will
touch intelligent humans
so they could cry like
we do in our
mass burial

their is crys in the city
another steal bird
has just lay an egg
another animal has just
blast innocent humans again
and now we have a
mass burial
