Best John Lennon Poems

John Lennon

30 years have now passed,
but your words still last.
Across decades, your memory has span,
and you were above all, a simple man.

Peace and love is all you said.
For you, a million tears were shed.
Your tragedy was felt worldwide,
your death made the world coincide.

Imagine all the world, living for today,
you brought us together, in this beautiful array.
Even though your body is no longer here,
your message echos forever, across this sphere.

You were a dreamer, but not the only one,
we are carrying on the movement, you begun.
I hope you are at peace, where ever you are,
I hope to hear in heaven, you playing the guitar.

GIVE ME SOME TRUTH
John, was born October 9, 1940, in Liverpool
He met Paul McCartney in 1957
John and Paul formed a close working relationship ... COME TOGETHER
Young and fearless guys with music as the common interest
Over time, it became a REVOLUTION
When we talk about John Lennon, his name associates with The Beatles
With members John Lennon, Paul McCartney,
George Harrison and Ringo Starr
WELL, WELL, WELL in the music world it became POWER TO THE PEOPLE

John left The Beatles in September 1969, a new TICKET TO RIDE
CLEANUP TIME for the skilled songwriter, vocalist and guitarist
- He would continue as a solo artist BLESS YOU

I became LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS when I listened to his music
LIVING IS EASY WITH EYES CLOSED, sounded so beautiful
NOBODY TOLD ME, that John was actually a heavy drug user
IT'S SO HARD ... to deal with
ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE, greatest of all is love
IMAGINE, John and me in the NORWEGIAN WOOD
STARTING OVER, a new life in my home country

MOTHER ... HERE WE GO AGAIN ... I was in love
GROW OLD WITH ME John,
happiness is a word that tastes sweet in my mouth
Together with you, the song begins to find the right sound
STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER

I AM THE WALRUS - a stupid young girl who dreams
NOBODY LOVES YOU (When You're Down And Out)
John lived on BORROWED TIME,
bitter rivals and demons sparkle in the air
I feel lonely ... and I'M SO TIRED
MOTHER said : YOU GOT TO HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY
 ... YA YA

Ode To John Lennon

From Epiloge for novel “Eleanor Rigby”

This music has really transformed our world.
It stressed greatly the Central Asia (previous part of USSR) also,
in the time of Cold War and Iron Fences,
when our old fathers-communist leaders,
rotten in power and ruling by Soviet empire till the death,
fighting with freedom, capitalism and Beatles also
as with the decadence and poisoning art of dying West,
until USSR itself collapsed down from stupid governance
and violence and supressing of right of man.

By the way for our olders known
that according with an ancient Kyrgyz prophesy
every millennium bring to world the singer,
who might to crumble mountains and great evil empires
just with his stunning powerful songs.

Now we are going to understand
who was been really John Lennon.

Thank forever, bard of millennium,
singer with Irish-Kyrgys root,
the modern Ossian,
Orpheus who saved our world
and presented freedom for prisoned East.
You are deserved the deepest our respect and love for that
in generation to generation
as long as sounds
this unusual music here and everywhere -
Mind games, Stand by me, Imagine,
Girl, Instant karma, Across the Uneverce.

Eye candy of literacy
Sit with me under the poet tree
It's colorful leaves with windy wet dreams
Glowing growing holy wise sandy seas
Raining sonnets psalms songs of gold
Beige yesterday, neon now, future silver soul
Of foreign of home
Of saint sinner some other zone
This black leaf is Emily
So dark smart sharply bleak
The red leaf rouge and profound
As Alice Walker's words painting nouns
The blue leaf a jazzy ballet
Of sonnets haikus John Lennon's yesterday
The green leaf with promises of now
From music the ears of poetry sound
Alex Haley, Dr Seus, ancient poets and the new
Prophetic stars of heart and writer monsoon
Romantic rage roulette of moon
All are priceless jewels alone or in unity
All behold gifts of God, heart, soul, poet tree.

John Lennon

Imagine if he'd lived,
The words he would have sung,
The songs he could have crafted
Had he not died so young.

Imagine if he'd lived,
If death could be reversed.
Would he still be promoting peace
Across the universe?

Imagine if he'd lived,
Would people still believe
That he was just a dreamer
Dreaming double fantasies?

Imagine if he'd lived,
The truths he would have sought.
But instant karma failed him
With one fool and four shots.

Imagine if he'd lived -
But we're the dreamers now
Dreaming of the many ways
To make the wheels go 'round

John Lennon

Poets used to call me Lei Strauss.
I’m the most awe-inspiring poet.
But by the way, did you even ask?
Wondering why I wear this mask?
It’s not I’m hiding from a shell,
Trying to stay away from the world.
Just want to feel the other side of me…
Would you get the chance to know my name?
Bet you’ll sail and feel insane.
Others find my name extremely strange.
But they’ve heard it from those oldest days.
Well dad gave it to me for he was a huge fan!
Oh did he even try to ask for his autograph?
I may sometimes dislike how my name sounds,
Sounded like a star when you will pronounce.
Some would say why I woke up from my grave?
Jokingly tell “Hey I’m John Lennon’s twin!”

NOTE: Oh just want to let you know my real name is John Lennon.

What John Lennon Said At 11:15pm, December 8, 1980

We all shine on,
 he says (nobody hears),
by the striking light of shots,
with golden bullets in our chests,
in the green eye of a yellow God
 standing still beyond Milton Hayes’
absent eyes.

 We all shine on
 in borrowed time
 from honeys and kids
and cats and dogs and gods,
all in the hall of householding
 fame, smiling at our last
 lost minute.

 We all shine on
 cookin’ years to tasty days
 and tasty beds with pillows
full of absent wealth of lust
 to last in borrowed time
 with borrowed selves
 in absent memories.

 We all shine on
like a striking light in the eye
of a one-eyed idol to the north
 of Katmandu, seeing the childish
godfaced game above our inner oneness,
that stark shine striking our fearfulness
like the golden eye of a fish in the abyss.

Tribute To John Lennon

John Lennon, tragically shot dead 1980, 8th of December
If you were a fan of his I`m sure you would REMEMBER
Was Mark Chapman playing MIND GAMES, is that why?
Or perhaps plain and simply he was just A JEALOUS GUY
John hated war and wanted us all to GIVE PEACE A CHANCE
Was that murdering bastard on drugs or perhaps in a trance
IMAGINE If the whole world held hands, you would have to agree
Thats all he ever wanted, he asked us all, PLEASE STAND BY ME
His friendship with the Beatles was just STARTING OVER again
A HAPPY XMAS coz to George, Paul and Ringo he was a fri
But his face certainly became famous, the boy from Liverpool
Do you think that John Lennon lived on BORROWED TIME
Was his time up when Chapman committed that terrible crime?
HOW DO YOU SLEEP Mr Chapman, does it come to you easily?
How does his family feel after he said "GROW OLD WITH ME"
The world moves on I guess as we are WATCHING THE WHEELS
Tell me Mr Chapman are you happy, please tell me how it feels
If it were POWER TO THE PEOPLE, then most of the population
Would have had you strung up, not locked up safe in ISOLATION
How could you do it? all the world was unfortunately denied
Like me, lots of others felt as if they were CRIPPLED INSIDE
NOW AND THEN I still REMEMBER his music and verse
I think about his murder, to me there is nothing worse
John may have found peace at last, you mark my word
I believe he is up there somewhere as FREE AS A BIRD

In Memory of John Lennon Whose Absence Near Equals His Presence

God?
Love?
Surprise Surprise (Sweet Bird of Paradox)!
Mother?
How Do You Sleep?
I Found Out
Me - a Working Class Hero
I'm Losing You!
This once Jealous Guy
Now a ghost
to my grown Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)
Spirit Now lives
Tight A$ Steel and Glass Isolation!
Imagine? Nobody Told Me
I'm Moving On Borrowed Time
While Watching The Wheels go by!
Remember: John Sinclair?
My #9 Dream about Instant Karma of mine?
Whatever Gets You Thru The Night Woman!
Power to the People!
Hold On!
Grow Old With Me?
Give Peace A Chance!
Gimme Some Truth!
Ah…(Just Like) Starting Over?
Or going Cold Turkey?!
Post Thanksgiving demise.

A John Lennon Dream

grew up dreaming a john lennon dream
about peace and love happiness and hope
bout all the beautiful things that could be
if we could just agree to love one another
grew up believing that we could build a heaven right
here on earth if we could all just believe
that everything is possible with just a little bit of love
but as the years have passed by
as the song he imagined keeps playing
as we have all grown older
we realize that we dreamt a john lennon dream
and all the beautiful dreams like it
they are fragile dreams only a heart like his could put to song
but i think to myself
perhaps if we could all still try
perhaps if we could not just give up
maybe we could change the world just a little bit
maybe we could find john lennon's dream
here on earth
find the peace love happiness and hope
if we could believe like we used to
our own hearts could dream like john lennon
that our love expressed together as one
could change the world just a little bit
then just a little more
just a little more
what a beautiful world that dreamin' could build
if you could join us dreamin' a john lennon dream

dedicated to a very great man, john lennon, and his dream.

John Lennon Dead 8 December 1980

A hot summer afternoon
A news flash around noon
John Lennon shot dead
For infamy instead
Mark Chapman for the kill
For him just the thrill
And we lost a treasure
Gone from the world forever.
