Island Spirit
Palm trees are swaying island style
Within the gentle trade wind's flow,
As Egrets glide on salty air—
Then land where verdant grasses grow.
Breathe in sweet scents of tuberose
And let fine mist caress your face,
Dive deep into aqua waters—
Become enchanted with this place.
Let your eyes consume the beauty,
Let rhythmic music soothe your mind.
You'll feel the aloha spirit—
A kinder people you won't find.
Go hiking in hillside forests,
There are no bears or snakes that hide,
Just waterfalls you'll find waiting,
That flow toward the ocean side.
In the distance whales are breaching,
Humpbacks with little calves in tow.
They share waters with the dolphins,
And green sea turtles down below.
Can you hear paradise calling?
Whispering your name at sunrise,
To later bask on pearly sands.
Swaying hula hips at moonrise,
Coaxing you to join in the dance.
Exotic Mai Tai in your hands,
Sweet flower leis caress your neck,
Come investigate our islands,
And board on wild waves at surfside,
Cast your cold and cares to the breeze.
Sailing out on sunset cruises—
Take homeward bound warm memories.

Island Aloha
Tall and lovely palms are swaying island fair
within the tropical gentle trade wind's flow
as elegant Egrets glide on salty air—
then softly land where verdant short grasses grow.
At sunset whales are breaching, a sight so rare.
Divine Humpbacks swim with little calves in tow.
Cast away cold winter's weather to the breeze.
Take homeward bound treasures of warm memories.

Indigo ink dreams
Dripping from heart
Tattoos tongue with kinetic kiss
Green electric buzz like sip
Of fine blueberry wine so sweet
Dreamy turquoise love touch
Filling me up with red desire
On fire for your romantic antic
Sweeping me off my feet
Carrying me with ease
Of a blue breeze to deserted love island
Where tan sands caress like brown hands
White waters flow warm and toasty
Fast slow then in closing cold
Never let go of this love
For it floats like a boat
I live on an island in the Pacific region
The largest body of water is the OCEAN
Like, can we be more Pacific?
I think Christopher Columbus got lost
Because the directions were not pacific
Oh, excuse me, the Pacific Ocean
Where you will find the small islands (micronesia)
Where you will find the black islands (melanesia),
Where you will find the many islands (polynesia)
Generally, the islanders are like coconuts
So hard on the outside
But succulent on the inside
Yet they always end up wanting Samoa
Get this,
An assault by an Islander
is called a Hawaiian Punch
At times, these islands need a therapist when they are in a tropical depression
Some islands have sunk
Oh no do not laugh
That is not funny atoll
Sea yourself out
Therefore, I live on an island
A small island
I am a MICRO
I mean, how can I get more pacific than that?
Seagulls serenade the salty air,
as serene clusters of dreams~
weave poetry with palm leaves.
There, waves whisper exotic love,
ferrying memories of an island.

I smile and feel the wind massage my face
Then close my eyes to smell the fresh sea air
The seagull’s wings catch wind then float with grace
A day on Sylt can wash away all care.
I love to see the changing of your tide
Then feel your mud squeeze gently through each toe
You steal my breath your rippled surface wide
Now baring gifts of sea shells as you go.
When you return your rushing waters swirl
And take back all your precious jewels too
I watch in wonder as your wavings curl
And I’m in awe just at the sight of you
Now lying on your sand I watch each cloud
They tell me stories changing forms for me
Today the Greek Gods sat there very proud
As if they wanted all the world to see
The sun has bent down low to take a drink
Now thirsty from his journey through the sky
He dips his head in waters turning pink
Then quickly disappearing shuts his eye
Oh, isle of Sylt your sandy beaches fair
Invite me to return and taste your shore
The salty waters where I’ll sit and stare
Oh, isle of Sylt I’m knocking at your door

Island girl...
[Verse 1]
Island girl, I’ve got my eyes on you,
Loving the way you move, babe, so smooth.
Longing for your hand, take my song,
Take me where you belong, come on.
Together, island girl, just me and you,
We can groove, baby, we can find our groove.
[Pre-Chorus]
Girl, you don’t know what you’ve been missin’,
But when I catch you, babe, it’s all night kissin’.
Feelin' those waves, goin' deep sea fishin’,
Makin' love, island girl, we’re on a mission.
[Chorus]
Island girl, you’re the one I adore,
You’ve got my heart, and so much more.
Your heat, turnin' me to steam,
To gaze at you, girl, it’s like a dream.
I’ll bring the ice, we’ll melt together,
Tropical nights, girl, now and forever.
[Verse 2]
Sweet island girl, you’re all in my dreams,
Your touch so tender, like warm summer beams.
To hold you close, under the stars,
Where we’re lost in love, no matter how far.
Tropical tunes and a lover’s sound,
Baby, with you, I’m never comin' down.
I melt into your almond eyes,
Lost in the glow of your gaze tonight.
[Pre-Chorus]
Girl, you don’t know what you’ve been missin’,
But when I catch you, babe, it’s all night kissin’.
Feelin' those waves, goin' deep sea fishin’,
Makin' love, island girl, we’re on a mission.
[Chorus - Shortened]
Island girl, you’re the one I adore,
You’ve got my heart, girl, and so much more.
Your heat, turnin' me to steam,
To gaze at you, girl, it’s like a dream.
(Short instrumental break)
[Bridge]
(Spoken softly, with background harmonies)
Underneath the moon, where the waves roll in,
I’m callin’ your name, and I can’t wait to begin.
Let’s drift away, just you and I,
In this island dream, we’ll never say goodbye.
I melt into your almond eyes,
And in that gaze, all our time flies.
[Chorus - Outro]
Island girl, you’re the one I adore,
You’ve got my heart, and so much more.
Your heat, turnin' me to steam,
To gaze on you, girl, it’s like a dream.
(Fading into soft instrumental as waves crash gently)
Island girl...
Island girl...
The sea gulls down at Barry aren’t your average little pests
They think they own the sea side and the all wear hooded vests
Their beaks are pierced with hoops and studs and drink from cans of bud .
Beady eyes watch picnics
They truly are such thugs
And if you purchase chips from the shop behind the beach
don’t believe you can relax with those tasty scrumptious treats
They’ll watch you exchange money with hungry look upon your face
then hunt you down and rob you with their spray cans full of mace
Dive-bombing little children is their favourite thing to do
then you think they’ve gone but you’d be wrong when they shower you with poo
These antisocial birdies are quite partial to an ale
they really do belong down in Barry Island jail
So be warned these birds are dangerous
Theres no stopping them you know
With their gang tattoos and leathers
Wearing boots with steal capped toes.
You can tell that they mean business and with a welsh sarcastic twang
they bully staff and customers at the local Ice cream van
So pack yourself protection
A helmet and a sword
A shield , a coat of armour
Bring all you can afford
Apart from that it’s glorious
A lovely golden beach
But I wouldn’t risk a smile if you’re wearing your false teeth
Look deep within these loosely-woven layers to find
primeval land with ocean, sky and wind entwined,
skilled hands and eyes of generations gone before
and peat smoke mingling with a sea mist on the shore.
In old and intricate design you may well sense
a solitary piper skirling a lament,
or view the purple heather blowing on the hill,
or hear soft-spoken memories echoing still.
Some bold and joyful as a vibrant summer’s day,
and others tinted as an autumn bride’s bouquet,
some speak of wilderness and yet untrodden ways,
some melancholic strangers to the sun’s sweet rays.
With insight woven and a clarity of mind,
the rhythmic textures of the land we see defined.
With colours of the seasons, each piece of cloth unique,
of planet Earth and nature’s harmony does speak.
Revered now far beyond its island home,
a homespun cloth of gold it has become.
Ambassadors for Scotland, yes indeed,
that’s whisky, Robert Burns and Harris Tweed.
Island girl
I've got my eyes on you
Loving the way you move
So smooth
Longing for your hand
My song
Take me to your wonderland
Come on
Cause together, island girl
Just us two...
We can groove
Yeah, you don't know
What you've been missing
But when I catch you girl
We'll be all night kissing
And feeling those waves
Going deep sea fishing
Making love
Island girl
Show up in all my dreams
Sweet island girl
Your heat, turning me to steam
To gaze on you, so nice
To hold you.. I'll bring the ice
Oh, the sound of tropical tunes
Under the stars, it's a lover's moon
Can't resist.. I'm coming soon
Upon your shore
My island girl
Yeah, you don't know
What you've been missing
But when I catch you girl
We'll be all night kissing
And feeling those waves
Going deep sea fishing
Making love
I can't resist.. I'm coming soon
Upon your shore
You're all I want and more
Yeah, you don't know
What you've been missing
But when I catch you girl
We'll be all night kissing
And feeling those waves
Going deep sea fishing
Making love to you...

My island slept for years in the care
Of Tainos, Caribs and Arawak
Their canoes on the sea breast bare
Dreaming of milk from manioc
The swamps unscarred, trees secure
Batos and songs rinsed in the azure.
Then came doom laden caravels came
Prancing with Conquistadores
Their swords to slaughter, then to shame
The Ave Marias slutted by whores
Whose blazing balls of canons denied
The sufficient death of the crucified.
My island was the Mary Magdalene held
For ransome in the frying lust
For gold, the continental wars spelled
A trembling virginity in the dust
A lost of idyllic grace, where bloody men
Sowed the evil inherited again and again.
From Spanish to French, Spanish to British
How callous is all history
A spectre publishing the marginal brutish
Shrivelled glory of identity.
And still my Mary, her alabastor box a gift
This tropic wonder, this lignum vitae of thrift
From empty tomb to broken hearted disciple
Evanglizes the Mahoe dawn
Over the Blue Mountain where peace ripple
On the motto, still the fawn
In the forest brings the stag to court
This island stands ready to file a good report.
A breathtaking panoramic view fascinated my sight into the offing,
As the sea gloriously shows its precious treasure magnificently floating;
Making me wish to be an albatross to hover and hop around;
On those beautiful islands highlighted by a single beauty named, James Bond.
This place is known originally and locally as Nail Island,
It’s one of the best tourists’ spots found in Phang Nga Bay at Phuket, Thailand
A prominent tall stone coated with green nailed unto the sea amidst the others,
Which you and I will surely be amazed by its spectacular beauty and wonder.
Sightseeing trip is priceless while on your way to its exact location,
You can pass by at the Monkey Caves with golden Buddha - another real attraction,
Taking a convenient long-tailed boat as you finally tour along the bay,
Stop by at floating Bin Laden Village to complete your day.

sun is hanging ten
as we ride sea's rolling waves. . . .
a paradise found
sun spreads marmalade
in our late warm afternoon. . . .
the sky eats it up
twilight's sky drips red
a tryst whispered on the wind. . .
we embrace the night
My dream holiday on an Island so far away
I’ve wanted to go there for many a day
‘Kon-Tiki’ film by Thor Heyerdahl caught my eye
Now Easter Island is a destination I dearly want to try
A journey, which would take me over land and sea
But to reach my destination would be a dream for me
Easter Island is located in the Pacific Ocean
I’d need to fly to Santiago de Chile then to Hanga Roa
The Rapa Nui tribe used to inhabit there
No trees are on the Island – isn’t that rare!
At one stage the Island suffered deforestation
This could explain the total devastation
The Island is famed for its archaeological sites
Its monumental statues cause many delights
‘Moai’ are the famous statues with oversized heads
They rest on rock altars ‘Ahu’ their own comfy beds
These incredible stone carvings are heavy and some are very tall
The largest at 86 tonnes would have been a nightmare to haul
To view all the statues I would stay for a day or two
I do hope one day my wish will finally come true

There is a place I long to be….
A fervent wish......I often see
Where I can close the book, take a breath
Close my eyes….and remember……...............me....
~
Where once again….I will find myself….
my forgotten self, along the sea…
There is a beach of pure white sand
An island in a far-off strand
Where I shall walk with happy feet
Where tall palms overhead will meet
Where green and scarlet birds will fly
Beneath a golden tropic sky
There is a spring, whose waters flow
Along a creek bed cold as snow
That I shall drink with eagerness
With taste of mint and watercress
To quench a thirst that I have known
Within my very flesh and bone
I have a world in which to roam
A tree a thousand miles from home
That I have never even seen
And yet I know it's branches green
Will give me shade some happy day
Beside a lake long miles away
My wish foretells a longing fate
And so I'll bide my time and wait
~
There is a place I long to be….
Where I can close the book, take a breath
Close my eyes….and remember……
me…..
