Best Inviting Poems
~
Even if moonlight is broken
and wild flowers bloom
beneath a stolen sun
lost in a dawning song,
sung in off key silhouettes
along a chorale reef
drenched in caramel pages
of forgotten ink...
amidst an ocean’s marathon,
waving to popsicle patrons,
melting your smile
in every sweetness now
clinging to shirt tails
of written directions
leading away…
we will find our place
deep within the twilight secrets
on the crest of a
November whisper
among the hidden forests
and daffodil daydreams…
as evening swirls in
enchanting vistas
painted the color of your eyes,
where lingering stardust
serenades melodically call
in the echoes of our hearts
inviting forever
to become
one with our love

A Very Inviting Temptation!
I remember of a particular situation.
I was offered a very "inviting" temptation.
The situation I was in... I didn't belong!
And lost any sense of "right and wrong."
At first... I felt no guilt or shame.
And brought embarrassment
to my family's name.
I tried to explain this to my wife and kids.
I heard; "Dad... please... no more fibs!"
The Godly principles were "tossed to the side,"
As the sin inside caused arrogance and pride.
Soon, all in my life that truly mattered...
Was gone! My life was empty and shattered!
I was sorry for all of the problems I caused!
This time... I took a moment to pause.
I cried to God to rescue me from my sin.
I confessed! Would God help me once again?
I read in the Bible of Jesus’ grace and love!
This time the help I needed had to come from above!
I asked him for a fresh and brand new start.
He removed the stain from a broken heart.
He restored to me the joy I once had.
I'm so blessed! Jesus has made me glad!
Jesus is the reason I'm here today!
I LOVE HIM more than words can say!

I left the village and trudged towards the small wood,
Junipers, covered with berries that looked so good.
It was an inviting place many knew about
It was luck I found it, few cared I have no doubt.
In the middle, a pond cherished by lots of fish,
Around willow Norway Spruce which was my true wish.
And on the face of the water, large leaves floated,
With white, yellow and purple lotus promoted.
I sat on a rock, watching some birds as they flew,
Elated as the solitude around me grew.
On the other side, a small bridge led to my place.
I had to admire her neat walk, her lovely face.
She quietly sat down beside me, full of bliss.
I leaned slowly towards her and gave her a kiss.
In that inviting place who could ignore delight
I was ready to give her my all heart outright
In that silence, she lay on my shoulder, her head.
In blissful solitude, never a word we said.

When the chilly weather arrives to northern zones:
feel its frigidity slowly enter the tiny pores of your skin,
and penetrate your unprepared and shivering bones...
snow may be coming soon, even before the jolly Christmastime;
and if snowflakes is what you crave, hear those silver bells chime.
If I were a kid, on a snowboard I would ride
to feel the thrill of magical winter everywhere...
have you noticed how peaceful it is outside?
I lean on the windowsill to stare at the monotonous, white sky...
underneath it, all trees are covered with snow so fluffy and dry.
It would be nice to hear the warbling of a timid canary,
to melt away some of the boredom in this afternoon,
because no joyful words can be written without harmony...
not even a painter would feel inspired as in other seasons,
unless restlessness forces him to paint snowy sceneries.
I should brave the cold and take a brief walk,
making the first footprints in the soft snow...
greeting folks I often meet by the oldest oak;
and conversing with them on the same park bench, I can reminisce past winters...
and as our loud laughter echoes through the solitary pine groves, daylight dimmers.

Quintain (English)
She sat for hours
Needle in hand
Stitching in silence
Inviting medleys
She stitched together
Hues happy and glad
Brilliant and vibrant
Inviting medleys
She threaded her needle
Gently with patience
Taking time to create
Inviting medleys
She laced each stitch
Careful, a caress
Against soft fabric
Inviting medleys
She pieced each square
Rectangle or triangle
Together with care
Inviting medleys
She gave her heart
To the pieces she sewed
Weaving hope with her thoughts
Inviting medleys
She held out the quilt
Sensational dreams
Blowing on souls
Inviting medleys
She gave them away
Pieces of her love
Graceful praise
Inviting medleys
She was always laughing
Alive with compassion
Filling her stitches with light
Inviting medleys
She wove love and hope
Into her quilts
Delighting spirits
Inviting medleys

In his arms it feels so warm and cozy.
Not a worry in the world have we.
Very happy and content, feeling life is rosy,
I cannot think of another place I'd rather be.
Time with him is my stress release.
I wish I could stay with him this way evermore.
Never could I find on earth a greater peace,
Gifted with the inviting smile of the one I adore.

In Youth, Life's Wild Tracks Seem So Inviting
Those years I spent racing down wildest tracks
majestic and sweet wild-cards were playing.
Always when needed, finding one-eyed jacks
that bounty kept me from ever straying.
Gamble life and laugh at possible cost
O' how youth can blindly crash open doors.
Always thinking they can never get lost
falling into well laid cracks in the floors.
When calamity arrives with hard knocks
hopeful thoughts are this will soon go away.
Yet those doors soon have unbreakable locks
and pain allows misery its full sway.
Dark pits welcomes guest when chips are all gone
there deep where Fate's avenging shadows dwell.
Nothing nourishes and soon skin covers bone
TIME STANDS STILL IN ROTTING CELLS OF SUCH HELL.
Miracle if light ever breaks on through
shadows vanish and all locks fall away.
You may find that others have prayed for you
and vow never again to walk that way.

Signal in the sky
A pumpkin, fierce, glowing
Showing teeth
Tells of a certain graveyard
Where the dead moves again
Ghosts float
Chains rankles along the ground
Surely causing noise
The haunted house
Located right next to graveyard
Inviting the undead
There is a lone light on within
Is there really someone home?
Just a ruse
To get the living inside
To meet their doom

Take my hand come fly with me
Come dance on the moon and the stars
They're playing our song on mandolins
And strumming their little guitars
Come sail with me we'll take to the sea
I promise it'll be worth your while
Tap into your soul as I gaze in your eyes
To bring back that beautiful smile
Come live out your dreams your fantasies
Come meet me on top of cloud nine
There's nowhere on earth you'd rather be
There's no better feeling you'll find
We'll just lay back on a silky breeze
And let our temptations run wild
The longer you stay the better it is
You'll leave with a permanent smile

Memories of Bach
At 17, I performed a solo ballet to Bach
Below a sparkling sky,
On a park’s open green grass.
The choreography flowed.
I was well-rehearsed.
The opportunity, special, before
Some of our gathered city’s spectators.
This genius: Bach.
This glorious cantata:
“Jesu,]oy of Man’s Desiring.”
And, I, the young ballerina,
Wrapped very Grecian-like in an ivory, silk tunic,
Stepping out to
Meet the first notes,
Humbly opening my arms
— first right, then left —
To invite the music to my dance.
But, barely a quarter-minute into the piece,
I was overwhelmed —
As my first dance ever
Out-of-doors —
The sky was my ceiling
And it was too high,
Making my reaching upward breathless.
There were no stage wings
To mark the arrowing points of my arabesques.
My memory lost all upcoming moves
To the sparse clouds
in their swirling crossing of the sky.
I let Bach choreograph my choice
Of upcoming motions as I
Let myself become his music
On to the end.
About a decade later,
On a cloudless, August day,
(the hottest day that year).
I asked for Bach
To sound, again.
Dear Bach’s
“Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring,” rose
Meeting our ears so magnificently
From the organ, as
I stepped into the church,
Wearing yards of wrapped white silk.
I stepped gently down the aisle
Toward my waiting groom.
My own joy carried me
Into the cantata
In celebration of
Our wedding day and
Of our decades of love
Together, on that day
Just beginning.
