Best Introvert Poems
Extrovert eyes express cimmerian connotations,
hidden within silent chambers of an introvert mind.
Thoughts twist and turn, but disguise frustrations,
as a melancholic heart struggles to remain kind.
Drained by energies from those who fail to understand,
soul seeks solitude to energise back into life,
Searching for a comfort zone in the promised land,
before insanity cuts deeper than a poisoned knife.
Confined to dogmatic chains results in confusion,
as faith becomes an enemy within critical cultures.
Torn between paradise and social seclusion,
soul seeks solitude from vociferous vultures.
Complicated compromises mean hearts will be broken,
yet introvert wings yearn to be free so they can soar.
Life is a balance of words voiced and left unspoken,
if only it was as simple as walking through that door.
The Silent One
Simple Musings
18 July 2018
A fitting anthem for
an introvert like me-
Simon & Garfunkel's
scrumptious harmony
of “I Am A Rock”
spoke oodles to me
in its painful poignancy
bouncing buoyantly
on declarations
of independency
needing no one
utterly free
encased in fortress castle
with books and poetry
I was a rock, an island
a party of three
just I, Myself, and Me
Until he came along
and proved me somewhat wrong
as icy waters receded
I found that he was needed
an “island” no more-
I became a sort-of peninsula
with somewhat rocky shores
Yet, sometimes I still hum it
or belt it right out loud
“I Am A Rock”
ever my anthem
away from the peopled crowds!
Darling—
You strung together useless trinkets of imagination,
And pinned me up inside your head.
With dreams that stalked me across the night,
But were too big to drag out of bed.
You clung to the savior you rashly mistook in me,
Like a lover clings to her dead.
When I never meant a single word,
Of whatever I might have said.
Verily, I wasn’t rummaging for anything at all;
I certainly wouldn’t have begun in you.
The god you saw, I have seen, as well,
But only in the self I pursue.
And so I rose from shards of the mirror,
And snatched away from your fussy little hand.
For as I slept beside you, I slept nonetheless alone,
In a dream you could never understand.
I never used you because you were useless,
Never belonged to you because I don’t belong.
Couldn’t fulfill my emptiness with your own,
And could only pretend for so long.
But now I can’t gouge you out from within me,
From a place that never was there.
From a bottomless, unquenched solitude,
In which you simply could not fare.
What you wanted to see wasn’t in me;
I can’t give you what you think you need.
We’re ever alone, yet we try to outnumber our loneliness,
When in turning inward, we are freed.
Your loosened hair
Gleaming in the benign sun
Roses in our blood inhale dense air
Decking up before departure has begun
The green is paling one by one
It's the dance of death in colour
A fountain of farewell with a hue
For the cracking bones of October
Palliating painters seated in queue
Picasso brown red and blue
The message on the train is as clear as an apple
Our hues are too fleeting to hold
Come let's dance dear before yellowing begins in maple
Before our roots get too old
Under the introverted autumn sun let's melt our gold

I button up my cardigan
The weather's closing in.
I'm follically challenged,
not my hairline, but my skin..
As the clouds begin to gather
and wind whips up to boot..
I twist my collar skyward..
deploy my bumbershoot.
And so.. I hurry past you,
we nod but hardly share
the time of day and just pretend
there's no time left to care.
"Is there fear of being open?"
as enclosure keeps me safe,
Suddenly I'm conscious:
all
these
layers
start to chafe.
Old wounds that pierced my skin
don't need to hide away.
The strangest gift;
these scars;
require the light of day.
But what if..
Summer's sun is early?
A transformation starts..
We feel the authenticity
warming up our Wintery hearts?
For what we crave is
Love.
Acceptance, sister. Brother.
But first we have to open up..
be honest with another.
Feel the raindrops on our skin.
Unbutton the protection.
Release us to the elements of
humanity's affection.
For deep within us all
there's stuff we hide away..
Exposure to the open air
and brightness of the day..
..it might be when the healing starts.
Wind, sun, or snow or rain.
Outside it may be different.
But inside..
we're all the same.
It's time I was more vocal
Only so much time I can spend
With people, my friend
I love my humans
Don't mishear
I love a curry or casual beer
But over-load..
It comes too quick
On over-dose; a switch does click
I yawn, I scratch
Just take the hint
Or let my shiny watch-strap glint
Your presence,
Though I love you dearly
Has over-stayed it's welcome, clearly
I may be rude
So spare me that
And grab your scarf, your coat, your hat
I'll write a poem
When you're gone
Plonk piano keys; some solemn song
Plug me in to time alone
Recharge me
Through nature's pasture roam
My soul needs
S p a c e
To call it's own
Hear birds and angels;
Stillness caress
Not lonely in my alone-ness
Once I'm fixed
It won't take long
I'll skip towards you with a song
I'll listen, care
And be that friend
Who's right there for you, without end
I see you standing there
Hiding from the crowd
You say the world's too big
You say the world's too loud
I reach out my hand
And put yours in mine
To pull you out into
The whirlwind of life
Life is full of crazy
There is no life that's plain
Life would just be boring
If everyone was sane.
You gotta let the beast
Out of its cage
You gotta be crazy
You gotta be brave
I know you have your own
World in your head
Maybe you might like
The outside world instead
I'm not trying to say
That I understand
I want you to know
I'm reaching out my hand
Life is full of crazy
There is no life that's plain
Life would just be boring
If everyone was sane.
You gotta let the beast
Out of its cage
You gotta be crazy
you gotta be brave
I know you find life
Hard to be around
I can't let you hide
Six feet underground
if you want to try
To try and take a chance
Step outside your walls
Let go and join the dance
Cuz...
Life is full of crazy
There is no life that's plain
Life would just be boring
If everyone was sane.
You gotta let the beast
Out of its cage
You gotta be crazy
You gotta be brave
I see you standing there
Hiding from the crowd
You say the world's too big
You say the world's too loud
Life is full of crazy
There is no life that's plain
Life would just be boring
If everyone was sane.
You are the extrovert
And I, the introvert
So, what can I do
In order to win you
Should I subordinate
Or should I dominate
I really don't know for sure
But I do know my love is pure
So it should do no harm
To use all of my charm
To lure you
I adore you
Solitude is my greatest comfort
Privacy is my haven
In loneliness I find solace
In stillness I dull my pains
Quietness gives me hope
Silence inspires me
In my fortress of isolation
I can be all I want to be
I am an introvert
And I'm strong when I'm alone and free
Can i drift away in your silhouette?
or just stare consciously at the road ahead
for technique is lucrative in the battle
but whats a battle if you're already dead
listen carefully
I'm planning to subvert the misfit
who is unworthy of the crown
but sovereignty doesn't appeal to me
in all honesty if darkness attacks
all i want is you beside me
the love would be all the protection we need
but when your gone i would be...
waiting for the second coming
and you my goddess
are made in my image in likeness??.
I am not weird
Why should I follow you?
Nor am I rude
Just no need for pleasantries
Beneath my hat
No anxiety under here
Processing life
At my own pace
Standing strong
Yet holding back
I have much to share
Are you willing to listen?
I know the answer
I wish to look away
This may turn into something
Something more than I’m prepared to enjoy
You aren’t willing to see
If you only knew
I have much to share
You’re still not listening
I will retreat back
To my quiet place
The one where I recharge
That place
I contemplate on many things
There is so much that makes me real
Just give me the chance
And you will see
You will see
the real me
Introvert
Saves sores in heart
Very skeptical of being hurt
Why'd I have to go off and love you
I mean I do love you
Kinda sorta in-a-way I guess not really anymore
Like I don't hate but I sometimes just want to pick at your heart with a meat clever till your true emotions spill out
Don't get me wrong
I don't mind chillin with you but when I do I start to feel like things are better
Like the way you would look at me makes me feel like love really dose exists
And the way we would inappropriately joke about sex while around other couples made me think things seemed easy
I know we broke up but you never truly knew how I felt
Like how I would write about you every other day
And the fact that I have a journal that's filled with poems that would make me look like a creep
I mean when we were together things couldn't have been better
I had my dream girl
My grades were great
I couldn't see life getting any better than this
But knowing life and I things were only to get worse
May 26 2015 the breakup
After our senior trip of course I was in denial
A week later you were distant
Two days later we were physical
One graduation later you had broke it off
One semester of college and boring conversations every know and them later
I'm here
Why'd I have to go off and love you
I mean I do still think I love you
I think
Like I don't hate you
I just hate our outcome and I don't hate what we had I just hated what it made me

A creation of god, a universal gift,
Moulded with feminine aspects, a lively introvert,
I have a heart, a mind, a soul without a rift,
I am a person, developing in this world, covert.
I may not speak, but my mind does,
My soul is screaming, so vibrant and ardent,
My heart is full of words, loud and conspicuous,
Open your ears, you shall hear my sentiment.
My beliefs are stronger on a piece of paper,
They choose the mighty ink than an ornate word,
They flow like a stream, impatient and eager,
And there you find no barriers to the millions of realms that I created.
I am shy, I have my own sphere to breath,
I am practical, I know to live the life which is real,
I am silent, and have fear of the future so forth,
But shall make sure, through my unique way, hail the world from the territory of my goal…..

Sometimes folks will go and pity us,
“Come out of your shell!”they always cry,
forgetting that it you do that to a turtle
the poor beast is going to die.
But still some folks insist they try.
Introversion, they never truly understand,
better to sleep on nails then have a hundred friends!
But they never realize they need us,
that we see what slips their view.
Hell, if anything, we see too much,
it’s why we need time away from you!
To sort out perception into truth.
A loner’s mind finds this no travail,
as they always say: God is in the details.
You read, and enjoy the movie screens,
they bring escape from weary days,
but to create all that you need someone
not afraid to sit with just their brain,
and daydream the hours away.
When they strike upon an amazing thing,
it fascinates the millions, makes the heart sing.
You like your phones and gadgets,
they’re a centerpiece of your life,
but what went into making them work
were the inwardly-focused running rife,
given the space to push and strive.
Using the kind of math most never learn,
they connected billions, for better or worse.
The music that inspires millions
came from Beethoven’s maddened mind.
But in person he was a sonuvabitch,
not the type who’d show you a good time,
downright unpleasant, most would find.
But I think many more would be annoyed
to live a life without the Ode to Joy.
Some others would not understand
that the science we take for fact
came mostly from a half-mad loner,
utterly bereft of taste or tact.
All These things Isaac Newton lacked.
Yet when that crazy bastard focused within
the age of modern science did truly begin.
In some ways it makes no sense,
to try and explain the way we are.
The outgoing cannot understand it,
to them it’s a step too far
to slink away when you could be a star.
Just keep in mind the next time you mock,
without us you’d all still be banging rocks.
