There was a time.

There was a time
When your fabled dreams
Seemed honest

A time when
Your open arms
Coated in dented silver and tainted dreams
Understood my Size 12 shoes

When the world seemed to be against you
Yet, still,
Your blunt eloquence welcomed me home

Then, your “rainbow”…
…shat
           t
                er
           ed

Your heartbeat became an arrhythmia of petulant theatrics.

Your topaz coated spit
Released from refilled white-out bottles,
Brushing away quartered moons of an iridescent shame

A copycat of robotic muses
Infringing upon your pedestal,
Turned loud mouth, afflicting broken tongue

The “Stalin” of a messenger’s wit,
You raised your voice to a poignant sky!!!

And, as if Yahweh cured your muted disorders,
EVERYBODY HEARD YOU!!!

Including me

That was your goal…
…excluding me

From incipient edge, I witnessed you,
A turpentine puddle in front of a confessional booth
On a melancholic Thursday morn,
With ripened glares to avoid your hallways

Tangled, dangling pacifiers as your doorbell

...

There will come a time.

There will come a time
When social feeds will deprive your vexing smile
Of validation

Where ignorant heartbeats will awaken
Through lyrical epiphanies
To see your “rainbow”
As a faded, stolen crayon

Where flirtatious dialect from withered accomplice
Licks cubic zirconium’s aftertaste
Forgetting that karma doesn’t tolerate one-night stands

For me, that time is now.

Then, I knew who you were.

Now, I know who you are.

You are not what you say.

A false advertisement in Sunday’s illiterate paper…
…with erased verbatim amongst your mirrored peers

Remembering how you falsified truth’s smile

Dire requests for empathetic warmth of our yesterdays
Yet, my Agnostic coat could never be thick enough
For your saturated, dual face

Oratory - Power of the Spoken Word

As words escaped constricted passage
of time from eons of layered myths,
legends of demi-gods thus linked,
in glowing rendition, with whisk on hand
the Orator with staff, sang the Eel to slumber.

As words from parched lips of orchids, flowed
dispersing sweet juices germinating dense spheres
of time in which history was packed in roots,
armed with psalms in measured cadences,
the Orator soothed kings and chiefs.

As words of our ancestors oiled and pampered
by prophesies of aging oracles, songs of lovers
and monotonous chants of old men...slithered
into hiding while physical wars waged, succinctly
the Orator proclaimed the heroic pursuits of warriors.

As words, precision in recitation of kinship ties
craftily sewn by political machinations of unions
vital for survival of race waltzing in purity of blue
when blood flowed thru veins of aging rocks as
the Orator cemented pacts chanting tribal honorifics.

As words, imageries of sky bursting, moon phasing sunsets pertaining to legends of my village heroes,
sweet nectars that put rhythm in his art of tongues
inspired by fruits from my garden, mine own words
the Orator in action, was he infringing my copyright?

As words, our heritage orally passed down in poetry,
set imageries prohibiting meddling with sources,
set quotations where time absolved breaches of patent,
plagiarism, for traditions dictated that the word be
secured in a cocoon of oratory ferried down the ages
by the dynamics of cultural rites and rituals.

the Orator, blessed not only as the spiritual Vessel
...but now deemed as the Spoken Word incarnate.

Order in court, you're charged fallible,
Held in contempt for rhymes impassable.
    Corny pick-up lines I applaud,
    Infringing copyrights is fraud!
That is why we are not compatible.

I've heard about the arrival of fanciful fushia strangers
but I've no fear of them and not worried about dangers.
They seem a bit nonsensical; funny the way they speak
To me, everything they say comes out sounding like Greek!

Maybe on their planet, peaches have three turquoise eyes
Could they be humans, just wearing an alien disguise?
I've never heard the haloed moon referred to as mother Mary,
nor of opulent opal oceans and a three humped dromedary.

I call them fluff nuggets; an accurate description, I think
Their gibberish makes me shake with laughter, quick as a wink
Life forms like these AI are manipulated by puppet strings
They're infringing upon planet Earth, inhabited by Earthlings.

*These are my thoughts and words, but if you take umbrage with
any of the lines, I'll throw Jan under the bus, cuz she started it.

Measles

Measles, mumps and chicken pox,
Insidious diseases,
Were all a part of childhood,
Paired with earaches, strep and sneezes.

But that was many years ago
And scientists have found
The vaccinations needed
So those germs won’t get around.

Except in some communities
Where parents do refuse
To inoculate their children
Due to controversial views.

So new cases of the measles,
Once now gone, have reappeared
And now hundreds are infected,
Which the health officials feared.

To the anti-vaccinators,
With your self-indulgent ways,
You’re infringing on your neighbors;
Sometimes selfishness betrays.

The Morning After

The morning after
I wake up to my pillows talking to me
Your are gone but they say you were here
You left some time in the night after I said you couldn't stay
Even after all that excitement you caused with the little you brought
There wasn't anything your body could do to impress me
Make me want to change my nature to believe in more than my stripes
And these spots that have kept me sheltered and unharmed by love
Because love is just some female constantly barking at everyone to be noticed
Searching for gentle and caring hands to bite later
So you took a kiss and your clothes while I pushed you out my door
Imagine my surprise when I still didn't wake up alone
There is this feeling here holding me now
I can't help but think you left it
A revenge of some sort to combat my cool head, cold shoulders, and icy heart
And that makes me want to hate you
Who are you to come and try to change who I am in one night
You should have simply just left a note if you really had to have a say
Even I would have been less offended if you left cash on my nightstand
Just so our one night stand won't still stand in my room
Its staring me down as if I was caught with my hands in forbidden places
With someone who isn't suppose to be here
But there is still something here that isn't suppose to be here
It is the morning after
Well passed our mutual time of sharing
You took and I took
You gave and I gave
And I only rose above you after I spent time at your feet
It was a fair night
I don't think I deserve to wake up with leftovers sleeping over
Lounging in my bed stealing my sleep before my sanity
Because I didn't ask for any reminders
Somehow they have found themselves here infringing on my time
Loitering and littering my space with your impressions I refused to acknowledge once
Inspecting all the marks in the light of day won't allow me to do it twice
If only there were just pillowcases and sheets I needed to wash
Hickies and scratches on my skin I needed to hide
So I can fully convince myself you were never here
The morning after

Premium Member A Headlong Plunge

Draped in the darkness of the night
In a weather so dull and blight
Sad thoughts like a deadly shooter
Come out to bombard her outright

Shaking off their fitful slumber
They rise from their inert stupor
From the reservoir deep, spill out
As through newly opened shutter

They come from an unknown hideout
As all trace of life to wipe out
Unable to block the current
She totters in a drunken bout

They spill forth in mighty torrent,
With a beastly force violent
Like an angry mob on long wait,
Infringing all rules, nonchalant

Caught in the vortex of that spate
Her body began to gyrate
She lost all her sense of balance
Her sad fate, no one could abate

Cost of Obama

We only got lies for proof
Tag bodies of who we don't know
They can take the blame
And we'll only charge them the cost of changing their names

If you want unlimited healthcare
IOUs pour from Wall Street like Niagara Falls
Opening up the South of the border so out of order

And you can't take a vote
We'll just go for the throat
Silence critics with bullets of ended liberty
Got a passport but no photo to show
A birth certificate arriving after the April fools joke

We can blame whoever we like, the media made him a Jesus case
But we can't say his name because its racist even if your black or white

We got a few more years to count down
History channel already got the rights
He'll take his family on a permanent holiday
The wife and kids practice nearly every day

And if we didn't vote him in
They would have said we let the racists win
But he tore down the things we loved and cherished
While little by little our freedoms he began infringing

We lost the right to freedom of speech
When they decided our children's lessons weren't PC enough to teach

So many people walking in circles
The pied pier got them hooked SNAP menus
I guess we only got ourselves to blame
When the best we could offer was Palin and McCain

Kill our American dream
In too deep he reached
Tearing out a heart
Beating since 1774
He just goes out all day playing golf
While our finest are killed everyday from Kabul to the Gulf

He thinks he's another Martin Luther King
But he made a nightmare of our American dream

We got a few more years to count down
History channel already got the rights
He'll take his family on a permanent holiday
The wife and kids practice nearly every day

And if we didn't vote him in
They would have said we let the racists win
But he tore down the things we loved and cherished
While little by little our freedoms he began infringing

He takes while your back breaks
He takes while your back breaks

Waterways

WATERWAYS

waves infringing on the
shore
tell the next swell there’ll be
more
powerless against the
tide
on vast seas and oceans
wide

WATERWAYS COLLIDE

are we helpless hearts off
beat
as life sweeps us off our
feet
shipwrecked souls that sink
deplete
island egos too far
 to reach

WATERWAYS DIVIDE

and so we end before we
begin
fear thwarts our desires
to win
little by little life robbed
and stole
until it gained complete
control

now
passive

Minds turned into images
Barren moments, parched feelings
Drowned in haste and unease,
Self-indulgent and covetous

Desolate technology slaves
Imprisoned in closed cabins
Chained to the chairs
Eyes fixed on the screens

Human skeletons with dried hearts
Drained and deserted relationships
Torn emotions and tainted lives
Emptiness all around

Ruled by commerce and profit
Turning world in to market
With frozen conscience
Infringing the peace loving souls

Bred by craze, power and greed
Aimless swarms and awry crowds
Turning planet in to an oven
Yelling advancement and progress

Green turned into grey
Sky turned into smog
Breeze turned into beast
Violating nature’s chastity

Where are the relaxing rooftops
Trees and the chattering birds
Clear sky and the morning dew
Seducing sunsets and cozy evenings

Lost in the crew of human creatures
Serene, pure, tender and loving
Living in isolation and disenchantment
Waiting for the return of olden days

Seems a forlorn hope in mighty milieu
Crafted by the self-centered masters
Impervious to human virtues
But, the hope never dies

Shadow Kin

Draconian afterbirth clings, soulless feet
mimicking every move, infringing copyright
like counterfeit signature, false in deceit.

Locked in Siamese embrace, shallow and trite,
how I pray for scalpel of darkness to fall,
yet I know its still there in malice and spite,

watching for weaknesses, a chance to enthrall,
to divert my eyes to its negative trance
like hypnotist slumbering me to pious pall.

Cannot lose this ethereal pinned to my stance,
resigned my future to this twisted romance.

My Pet Poems, Lou

The rains had begun pelting New Orleans.
The warnings were dire. An insurrection
Of weather on the Gulf coast was coming, urging
Everyone to escape to higher ground. That
Meant everyone! Katrina’s on the way!
The highways were halted, bumper to bumper,
While no other plans were coming! Where, oh,
Where is higher ground along the coast?

Lou came on the all-night drive with his family
To Lexington, where Woody had died
And Barkley needed a friend; we called our vet,
Seeking a beagle puppy. He called us next day.
He knew a dog named Lou, who needed a home.
So, Jim went to see the sweet boy, who
Was actually an English Foxhound, very
Like a beagle, but 20 pounds more and
Twice the height, and whose family had come
— now homeless — from now-drowned
New Orleans, leaving behind the Japanese eatery
They owned, but now infringing their escape
On friends, which meant their dear Lou,. too,
Needed a new life’s place.

We became it. Lou, I always thought, became
Our gentle giant (compared to our cockers),
Taking to Jim, who exchanged whispers with him.
Big boy though he was, everything about him was
Soft, from the way he placed his paws when walking,
To his lying patiently on the bed between us,
To the way he tilted his head when
His name was said. I cannot recall
Him barking or charging or begging.

He would receive as each hour brought him...
His life, so he seemed, had become
A patient resolution, plus a pleasant one, where
He gave happy loyalty and endearment
For our love; saved from flood, destitution,
And a New Orleans life feeling
Lost in a midst of starting all over.
He gifted us, in return, the constant peace
Of feeling found and accepted.

Jehovah Reigns

JEHOVAH REIGNS:

All in the hands of Beelzebub!
The tempter of mankind,
The ancient adversary of GOD,
Who can never over throw Jehovah.
Why does he causes men to fall;
By explicitly seducing men from ages to ages...
Corrupts and blesses them with riches,
Then later steal their souls...
Inputs pride and enviousness in their hearts,
Which makes them grow rebelous...
He broadcasts his cohorts into the the world,
And the weak vessels get possessed by them...
Hence they go about infringing on others lives,
In order to win more souls into his camp,
Through music, movies and fashion...
Then later makes their lives go worst?

All in the hands of Beelzebub!
Why is he going about causing litigations,
Causes families to rise against themselves,
Causes friends to grudge among themselves,
Causes masters and servants to fight themselves,
Causes countries to fight themselves,
Causes religious entities to hate themselves,
And make them have their respective faiths...
He withstands the will power of men,
Because he wants to be worshiped by them,
Instead of men worshipping the True God...
He blindfolds men to go astray,
By making them worship creations,
And he makes life unbearable for the righteous,
By inflicting them so they give up on serving Jehovah?

Well, forever in the hands of Jehovah,
His chosen generations dwell as a big household.
Forever in His house...
His True worshippers keep their hopes and trusts.
The ruler of this physical realm is awake,
But the eyes of the Most is graciously at stake,
On the lives of his sons and daughters.
In him do we evidently originates,
Yet, He has allowed Beelzebub to rule this place
But verily, this place would soon fade,
Together with the ruler and his cohorts.
The King of Divinity's glory will then be seen,
And the new world will be filled with peace,
As we will forever worship at Jehovah's feet,
And there will be fulfillment of His promise, indeed.
