You Are Beautiful

I don't care if you are inaccurate.
I don't care if you're a tomboy.
I don't care if you're an oval or a circle.
I don't care where you come from or what you were.
I don't even care if you have a coconut cream pie-in-the-face.
You are good.
You are perfect.
You are a princess.
And I will always love you.
Like you should love yourself.

Jesus

JESUS by Joan May Donnelly Ellis

Jesus, You are the Brightest Light of Love
A hearth fire ablaze on Christmas Eve
 A child's uncommanded hug
The flicker from a candle's flame
A Hand whose touch leaves a glow
The whisper of a lip's caress
The shower of an autumn snow

Jesus You are the manifestation of my praise
A military stride illuminated by grace
The reception of delight when pure humor releases all care
You are the warmth of an appreciative look
As You muse from your rocking chair
Jesus, You are a revelation spilling forth and pouring Light into my soul as I meditate on You
You are fresh, You are clean, a poet's dream come true
Jesus, You are as welcome as a mountain stream I surrender myself to after a hot Summer day of toil in my garden
Jesus, You are regular visits to Adventure Land
A glove, snow white shifting silken sands
You are a boy running 20 miles to be with the girl he loves.
Jesus, You are a head sinking in a bale of new-mown hay
The healing power of a Palm Tree's sway
And Jesus, You motivate every good that I do.
Jesus, You are the juice from a blade of Kentucky Blue
The tremor following a California Quake too
And Jesus, You've got what it takes to cause the Universe to fall in love with You.
Jesus, You're the dawning of a Carolina moon
The Decider who dines with silver spoon
You're the Yellow Rose of Texas in full bloom
 The revival of Pentecost.
Jesus, You are a Prince in housecoat and slippers on a front porch swing
A LOVE for better or worse that clings
You're the Composer of songs Your Angel's sing.
 Jesus, You are brevity
An embrace that lingers long after You go.
Jesus, You are the One who never laughed
When the child's love letter was mocked by the elite class.
And Jesus, You make bearable the insults one suffers through
Forgiveness granted for the incomplete, inaccurate view
You're the only One worthy & the only One true
Potter me in word & deed more like You.

In Your Heart

God’s will came shining,
  When He called Aaron home.
For now he dwells in heaven,
Next to God, by His throne.

I will pass the words,
Robin, keep your faith on high.
For one day you’ll reunite,
  Far beyond the blue sky.

And on that distant day,
  Your heart will rejoice.
Up in your place in heaven,
  When you hear Aaron’s voice.

My heart goes out to you,
  It’s sad we must part.
Aaron’ll always be with you,
  Right there, in your heart.

Premium Member Halloween Hijinks

It's almost Halloween, and parents
afraid to let children go out?
First it was drugs in candies, then razors,
then predators, it makes me want to shout!

You know what the boogeyman it is this year!
Why COVID, of course, how we love living in fear!

Even though the numbers have been clarified we
love the inaccurate ones, of course.
Fake News keeps posting inaccurate numbers, so
how much of living fully have we all lost?

Plenty, I say! Lost wages, lost time with friends
and family.
Blue "Pampers" on our faces?
Such a ridiculous, inhumane display.

Of course time to cash in, masks in polka dots,
leopard or lush pink.
No wonder people are not only on drugs, but
also, the heavier they drink.

What does a mouth or smile look like anyway?
Muffled words, no full out laughter, gives me
vertigo and brain-sway.

Churches locked tight, but a city, fine to burn?
Casinos, Costco wall to wall people, but of God,
or to sing in a chapel?
You are forbidden to respect, honor and to learn.

In the USA, the right to assemble peacefully is
hardly a joke.
But Portland has had over 100 days of rioting...
Are these folks on coke?

I don't know if the freedom I once knew, will ever
be allowed to be?
Just masks, social distancing till I die, and the sad
part is....I will never be free!

Response To How Do I Love Thee

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

*************************************

Should I count all the ways that I love you?
There are oh so many ways to revere
Must be another way to assess, dear
If I use a ruler, what would ensue?
Summating inches, would that ever do?
Are "he loves me" petals worthy entries?
Perchance, peaceful picnics under zen trees?
How do I love thee, is this deja vu?
Already measured the treasures you are
The secret allure of black diamond eyes
That smile...radiates gold like the North Star,
Rubied heart... can't start to deduce it's size
Inaccurate calculations thus far
Even in sunset, ever the sunrise

A-W

Americans, Algerians, Australian aborigines,
Corrupt leaders of the world involved in illegal activities.
Bloodthirsty bullies brazenly bombing bystanders,
Militaries full of corrupt army commanders.
Charities for children, carers in communities,
Third world countries deprived of equal opportunities.
Doctors, dentists, drugs, disability and depression,
An angry generation full of negative aggression.
Evil egotistic eejits entering elections,
Profiteering politicians with the right connections.
Foul mouthed fools fighting over fossil fuels,
Crooked government clowns creating their own rules.
Greedy gangs gambling, goons glamorising globalisation,
A sad and unfair planet, full of frustration.
History of horrific holocausts, hate crimes, hard times,
Skull and bones, secret societies, illuminati hand signs.
Isolation, intimidation, immigration, inaccurate information,
Hiroshima and Nagasaki still suffer from radiation.
Judge and jury, jam-packed jail cells,
Relentless rebels not doing it for the medals.
Kalashnikov culture, killers keep killing,
The reality of climate change is extremely chilling.
Lame loud mouthed liars living in luxury,
Corrupt politicians should be in custody.
Microchips, machine guns, military madness in the Middle East,
The rich get richer while homelessness continues to increase.
NASA, NATO, new world order, negative nonsense,
Celebrating Columbus Day, do they have any conscience?
Outrageous organisations occupying oil fields,
Double dealing leaders involved in shady deals.
Pitiful pessimists publishing pointless propaganda,
While aids and malaria increases in Uganda.
Quality over quantity or quantity over quality,
An overused phrase that’s used too commonly.
Radicals rallying, ready for revolution,
Air, water, soil and radioactive pollution.
Sick, sadistic sinners selfishly selling slaves,
Fredrick Douglass must be turning in his grave.
Terrible terrorists taking over territories,
Religious beliefs still creating enemies.
Unconscious unkind useless United Nations,
CNN plus Fox News equals bias news stations.
Various victims viciously victimised,
Deadly missiles falling from the skies.
Wars, weapons, whistles blowers on the World Wide Web,
While others sell their souls just to become a celeb.

Premium Member Unnumbered

In 1790, the first U. S. Census
counted four million heads.

An inaccurate number,
wholly deceptive.

Women were rarely named
except those widowed.

"Free White Males" were tallied
weighing the draft.

A slave numbered 3/5 of a person.
American Indians didn’t make the count.

Fast forward 220 years:
2010 Census

Nose count, 310 million.
Absolutely everyone
made the list.

Premium Member 'excellence' That's Mediocrity

We all pay for dumbing down
  educational standards all around
from thriving metropolis to sleepy small town

Incompetency reigns throughout customer service
Doctors' inaccurate diagnoses make patients nervous
Corporation mission statements, worthless lip service

It starts in the classroom, where teachers won't demand
if you want to say something, first raise your hand
Then later on, when rampant cheating's ignored
which leads to society's ox getting gored

So, let's stand up to teacher union's bureaucracy
Their idea of excellence - in truth, mediocrity
Insist on high standards, from grade one through university
and say No! to preference based on 'diversity'

Angel stands guard ~ ready to save her child,
her guiding eyes so wise in soft dark room.
With psalms of life and love her song beguiled.*

~

Her feet would follow nigh, till the child’s tomb.
Behold, this son, with beating heart of gold!
Her guiding eyes so wise in soft dark room.

~

Is this the one foretold, the king of old?
Angel, this cherub, with six wings, throws kiss.
Behold, this son, with beating heart of gold!

~

This child will hurl all lies into abyss.
Her fingers softly touch the savior’s cheek -
Angel, this cherub, with six wings, throws kiss.

~

This Mary’s son will give strength to the weak.
(The guards of Israel ~ their babes ~ they cry!)**
Her fingers softly touch the savior’s cheek .

(And Herod seeks all babes – the weak, to die)

The Doors Muted

guard the garden (we are the only instructions)
faced with sand, glass, and mirrors… did you

hear that? (sounds of plunder) the fangs of birth
crying…waters demanding life…effluvia…spit
from the dragon we receive all our legends

and monsters (the preacher slams his fist down
on the podium) the bible (bound in leather) warriors
clash tongues swap swords (the sun prays darkness
upon the temple) painted eyes hand over what is left

(for honor the gods demand) another missed meal
for the dog sniffing refuse…the doors…muted…

SLAM

(dissonance in the lie words inaccurate the great vessel poisoned electric inspiration shock of authority dementia where is that sound the teeth open phrases unearthly esoteric splitting over the clay cliffs craving what it already lost…)

and walking through the town the ghosts see graveyards and hide in the blink of still photography…

Story of a Delusion

this story lacks evolution
the beginning is unclear
no sign of resolution
it's just a muddy smear
            across the face of time
            a haunting concept
            devoid of reason and rhyme
            accentuating secrets kept
hidden in a demented mind
quirkily resonating
through what was designed
to be intimidating
             a preposterous theme
             filled with abstract imagery
             extracted from a dream
             and handed down verbally
with inappropriate expressions
of human emotions and desires
and inaccurate impressions
of chaotically crossed wires

Code of Death -Half Plus Close To Half-

The code we receive in-
The code he receives in
Seems correct, he receives it
Erring we, when we answer
This is what we receive in-
Our personality, persons we be
Inaccurate, incomplete, five plus one
And six and three plus three
It is in and not pasted on the face

The Code we receive in will die-
And seven and seven and six plus one
Will then be in them like the half
Plus close-to-half that operated

The code of death is a wisdom missed

It dies next tomorrow
Next tomorrow is a day before yesterday
Behold the day to follow-
Past, as we quote and quote
Before the judgment seat of senses
That code of death was
Interpreted long before day perishes

There are only few not marked-
There are only a few not enemies

The Race

Enhance my face without a filter, and I will complete my destiny,
Bring me to a place of uncertainty, so I can fight with more dignity.

See, if I took away my scars, my skin would be too clean,
And cleanliness just isn't my thing, when I don't follow my first instinct.

Give me your puzzle pieces and I'll place them together correctly,
No piece is the same directly, and burning one could be deadly.

Revoke my inaccurate accusations, before my clouds hover my skull,
Please check if I can indulge, without hating the final result.

Perfect my vanity, and take away my inexcusable pride,
And oh--- I shouldn't have cried, when the demon never replied.

Because my demons hear my sobs, when I can't fall asleep,
To all of you this may sound obsolete, but I'm ready to compete.

I'll enter the race and I will test my limits, as I take the wrong path,
But I don't think they would surpass, see I've been here in the past.

As I run the fastest and so listless, while crossing the red finish line,
They all thought I would decline, but the right path I did indeed find.

There's your way, and my way, and maybe they're both correct,
So I think in my deep introspect, then I stop, stare and intensely reflect.

Oh how the days fly here and the nights soar there so happy and so free,
I'll say one more thing about me, I've loved and I've lost, I'm sure they would agree.
