The Ides of March

“Beware the Ides of March,” the seer said to Caesar,
But no one paid him much attention because the seer was a teaser.

Just last week the seer had said, “Beware the rear Cassias,
Whatever it is that he’s been eating has left him awfully gaseous.”

Poor Cassias was so self-conscience that he stopped eating for a week,
It gave him a lean and hungry look that left him anything but meek.

Then the seer said to Brutus, “You need to get out of this joint,
I see that you’re about to get canned unless you show dear Caesar the point.”

“That’s a pretty good idea,” Brutus said, “I think that that’s what we should do,
Both me and Cassias can needle him and some of the other Senators will too.”

But when the seer spoke to Caesar it was hard for the emperor to decide,
What course of action he should take because he didn’t know what was an Ide.

Then people were in awe of the seer’s power and the things that he could see,
They never knew that the things he had said helped to fulfill his own prophesy.

Seeing an ever growing list of my poems
Each and every one is so special to me
Learning to write poetry has been wonderful
Forming my first poem was a form of stress relief

All my musings come from an often crazy idea!
Challenging myself with new forms is therapeutic
Time for me to try and become a perfectionist -
Using my newfound skills to write a proper haiku!
At first I would get an idea and suffer from insomnia
Lately I am able to keep my muse under control!!
I secretly hope to be part of the poetry glitterati
Zealously I can now write with style and pizzazz!
Amazingly in November I will recite poems at a gala
There on the theatre stage I will be in the spotlight -
I may surreptitiously wave to my friends to say hi!
Oh my self-confidence will reach a crescendo
Now I’ll confess writing has become my passion!

Wide, this grand world, with occurrences, rife

On the foam-capped blue, for a seafarer's life

Rich, the adventurer's sojourns shall be ...

Launching deep dreams on a mutable sea.

Daring, the soul who can take to the sky

Cast off the weights of this marble and fly

Rending mundane for the magic of travel

Undreamt-of mysteries await to unravel.

In sky or on rail, on surface or sea ...

Savor the journey and all it should be

Enjoy, as scores don't, the gift ... to be FREE!

Summer’s sweetest natural dessert
Presented itself to me in the form of a
Large seeded watermelon that
I found by chance at a local food stand.
Thrilled was I to see such a perfect specimen!

Wide, round, and green,
It had a yellowish underside and those “bee stings”
Desired by people who search for the tastiest melons
Every year when that marvelous fruit is in season.

On my arrival home, I stumbled and dropped that luscious melon.
Pulp of red juiciness splattered all over the driveway -
Effectively destroying the whole thing as it went KER-SPLAT,
Never to be enjoyed by my expected dinner guests that evening!

Premium Member Have You Seen the Light

Have you seen the light of Him that shines brighter then the
Aludra star of heaven's lair, and have you seen the rays that
Veer towards you when you pray, my brother have you
Ever known more peace then when you bow your head in prayer

Yoked to your heart He is your everlasting soulmate and your friend
On the wings of faith you can soar towards Him night and day
Unearth your fears and find the comfort that you need

Sacred Father, Abba, Patriarch and Archer of all that is good in you
Every action of yours is guided by His Holy subservient angels
Experience Him in your journey of love and know that you are
Noteworthy of His protection. Sister of life on earth plant a seed

The creator will water it and make it grow like a rose in the dessert
Hide it from the enemy let it prosper in His vineyard. You the
Elect who is never left in the dark, is a child of the Beloved,

Love with all your heart as he has loved you, built an alter and
Invite Him to your table dear friend, He is the candle that burns bright
Goodness and peace will follow you if you make
Him your confessor and your constant companion .
Trust in Him who created you to His image, know you are loved.

Horror of Heart

Working on the weather oh the hell on the side of this moon. I am only slightly screaming cause my dream girl is the nightmare of you. Growing up together now broken this tree and its branches still grow. Living and loosing life together its only in the hidden roots we still know. Paths in these embers I see a flame easily bought easily sold. Holding out to forever I see the one i love sold her soul. To her its just getting by but in my tears stained eyes I know. I will hate you forever the one who bit the bullet for a easier road. I will miss you forever cause if God only takes cheap tickets then your gold. Ide rather fight to the moon and back again for the ones my soul holds.

Please Joseph, believe my poem is epic
One worthy of first place, it’s top notch
Each line was crafted by AI, not by me
Though admitting it is probably not a good idea!
Reality is sponsors are now checking things out
You ‘ve no need to fret – I truly did pen these lines!

Follow me and together we'll go
Over the mountains, to romance the snow
Ride a gondola lift to the great Matterhorn
Alsace-Lorraine to Château de Landskron
Love in the Alps on the French side of town
Lifted to heights, we won't want to come down
You'll feast on sweet crepes on Champs Elysees
Or take in an opera or the Paris Ballet
Under the snow moon I'd profess my love
Give you thousands of kisses and millions of hugs
I love you, I'll tell you again and again
Volumes of romance but I've reached the
End
