Notes About The Poem

Double Bubble Words to Bubble 2 Poetry Contest Sponsored by Joseph May 07/04/24

I am saddened to see it muted that some poets are using AI to create their poems - what a sad state of affairs that someone stoops so low as to cheat - but in reality they are only cheating themselves.

I can confirm my poem is somewhat tongue in cheek for the contest and every word was written by me

Poetry cheats

Please Joseph, believe my poem is epic
One worthy of first place, it’s top notch
Each line was crafted by AI, not by me
Though admitting it is probably not a good idea!
Reality is sponsors are now checking things out
You ‘ve no need to fret – I truly did pen these lines!

I can't understand why anyone would want to post anything they didn't write themselves.. what would the point of that be? Really strange. Congrats. God bless you and your words. Love, Gina

I agree with you, Jan. People have no confidence in themselves and either use AI or other poet's work. How sad. I think someone got called out by PS Admin last month for plagiarizing. So heart-rending. Many blessings to you and your's. xoxx

Jan, a great poem and message. I agree too many are using AI. I am not wanting to post as many contests due to this. It's sad when people want to win so bad that they are dishonest and use AI. I think they're only fooling themselves though. -hugs

* not my poop poems of course lol but I've found my haiku - one poet even gave an explanation how HE wrote it - he had changed one word and then it made it so it wasnt a 5,7,5 poem lol:-) hugs Jan xx

I wouldn't have a clue how to check if a poem was written by AI, but i agree they are only fooling themselves - what irks me more is finding my poems on other poetry sites! hugs jan xx

Mobile phones sucked up human relations, may be AI sucks up human capacity to think perhaps? a simple calculator killed ability of kids to do maths, remember? so does AI. You have brought up a good topic to discussion dear poet. Did i comment too much? I am sorry. You have written a thoughtful acrostic dear poet. Blessings & Cheers.

I agree about phones kids struggle to make conversation as they use aps on their phones and can't do with arithmetic without the help of a calculator and cant tell the time except with a digital watch!hugs jan xx

It's frightening really Jan, with literature and paintings you won't be able to tell the difference, the machines will take over. No need for humans anymore, Spinning Jenny was the spark. Tom. My own words, honestly.

yeah its not only in the creative arts Tom you can see technology taking over in the shops with the automated tills and a hotel in Japan has a hotel where almost all the staff are robots - scary times indeed:-( hugs jan xx

thanks Eve, I would never use AI - it surprises me that soup still has a love poem 'generator' as that is a computer programme which writes the poem for you when you put a few words in! hugs jan xx

Agreed but nothing surprises me on soup any more - do you remeber the guy who was postin poems by famous people like Robert Frost - posted well over 400 plagiarised poems before he was kicked off the site and AI is just another form of deception:-( hugs jan cc

It is tongue in cheek Lin but I agree the prospect of AI writing poetry is indeed scary - I am known as 'Queen of poop or The Limerick Queen' but at least every word is my own hugs jan xx
