Premium Member Wild Pure and Free Love

I am just a country boy at heart
mustang free wild at spirit
Awakening to the bliss birds singing love piercing into a soul
Treasure gem in the promised land
dewdrops are falling rubbing them into my fingers
wind breathing her voice whispers silver
I hold so much love deep inside for you
stroking gently as it touches softly
your one amazing woman to me
sweetly inside the land of milk and honey
touching finger caress in the morning sun
Golden dreams in her I smile rising queen of the east
To she who bows me humble
so full of grace inside treasure deeply smiling
Then as I look across the mountains
captured in deep thoughts within beauty wow
White clouds in the sky racing to dreamland
darling hop on the magic carpet
whisked away in a breathless heartbeat
I fall away into a distant dream starstruck paradise Shangri-la
garden of eden your my seventh heaven love
never have I tasted such a fine fruit
paradise walking with you is to wonderland
hand in hand we will dance together sweetheart
in never-never land forever and always our love
you darling are heaven on earth
illusion of a rainbow falling rich
baby I found my pot of gold
your all the riches this man needs in the heart
Darling with you I can see a great vision
together in the great golden cased thoughts
us two at the pearly gates of heaven
now your my dream smiling angel of delight

Premium Member The Songs & the Makers

My soul understood Lynyrd Skynyrd
Like Ronnie I had monkeys to
Just simple boys chasing life’s joys
With our needles playing our blues

My soul understood Pink Floyd
For I have lived inside the wall
Comfortably numb and ignorantly dumb
Living my life forever tasting the call

My soul understood Nirvana
The White Horse has lived in my stall
I’ve tasted death at the edge of my breath
As my soul just nodded through it all

Like Creed I am my own Prison
No appeal on the docket today
What I learned from John Lennon
We all need to learn how to pray

Morrison took me to the roadhouse
Like Merle they locked me away
And I guess just like Creedence
I’ve seen rain on the sunny day

You know I do love Hank Jr.
Especially when he sings the blues
It seems so many of us just hop on the bus
Forever lost in the Addictions we choose

Sometimes I feel just like Kid Rock
I’m just sitting here in search of myself
I have great respect for Garth Brooks
For his family he put his career on the shelf

Johnny Cash sang of San Quentin
I heard the song in one of its cells
Locked up inside of that medieval prison
You feel like you have made it to hell

Like Jerry Garcia I fried in Berkley
Like Hendrix I dropped acid in my eyes
To this day when I hear Janice Joplin
I just want to break down and cry

The Eagles played the Hotel California
I have led the dance on that Prison yard
Guns & Roses sang of the Jungle
Prison is a world very cold and hard

These are a few of the songs and the makers
Ones that have shared my story and plight
When I die just play dust in the wind
As I ride the stairway to heaven that night

If my song is granted one purpose
And the music I’m allowed to choose
Let it be said that the song in my head
Was country rock with a touch of the blues

And let that song forever tell a story
A horrible story that ended so bright
For when Jesus Christ grants his mercy
Even the most blind can be led to the light

So Lord let my life be your lighthouse
Lord please guide my story as it’s told
And whatever you do Lord I beg of you
Help me stay worthy of the heart that I hold

Golfing

You’re in Palm Springs, not much to do
But golf and get some sun
Hop on a cart, still almost dark
Get out and have some fun

Line up your shot, you’re feeling hot
You try hard not to push
But half the time, like you were blind
It ends up in the bush

You curse and swear like no one’s there
Dig up a chunk of dirt
You hit a house, feel like a louse
Thank God no one was hurt

You hack around, rip up the ground
The hole seems ’way too small
You miss your shot and swear a lot
This is no fun at all

Every shot’s worse than the last
No matter how you try
They don’t go where you want them
It makes you wanna cry

Your buddies laugh, you stand and chaff
You ask them what’s so funny
They grin and say, “Looks like today
You owe us lots of money”

Finally when you make a shot
You think you’re getting hotter
You rip the next shot long and hard
Straight into the water

Every shot makes someone smile
Somehow it’s never you
A foursome comes up from behind
Asks if they could play through

You shank and pull you slash and slice
You finally get around
The only part that you enjoy
Is when you’re homeward bound

You practice ‘til the sun goes down
Determined not to fail
The more you try the worse it gets
You just groove your slash and flail

Today I had a real good day
I’m happy as could be
Had lots of fun, me and my Hon
Stayed home and watched TV

Peg-Leg Pete the Pirate and Dirty Deadeye Dan

Peg-Leg Pete the Pirate was a very evil man,
He used to eat his dinner from a filthy frying pan,
And when he’s finished eating he’d play “catch me if you can”
With his desperado first-mate known as Dirty Deadeye Dan.

Now Dan was quite a ladies man, but also fond of booze,
In bars and streets and hotels he liked to drink and cruise,
He used to taunt old-Peg Leg Pete by dragging up old news,
Like Pete had only ever needed half a pair of shoes.

One day Pete had quite enough and things got pretty scary,
Confronting Dirty Deadeye Dan whose mood was always lairy,
A sudden hush fell on the room when Pete clumped in the bar
And Dan called out: “Hey, Peg-Leg, hop on over, have a jar.”

Peg-Leg Pete the Pirate clasped the pistol on his hip
And snarled at Dirty Deadeye Dan: “Enough of your damn lip.”
The floozy sat upon Dan’s lap was dumped onto the floor
And Dan rose to his feet and hissed: “You’d best limp out the door.”

Across the sawdust, blood-stained floor they faced each other down,
And you could hear a pin drop from the other side of town,
Eyes were locked and fingers twitched and seconds seemed like days
The tension burned unbearably and shimmered in the haze.

Both men drew their pistols and both men fired fast,
Flame spat from the barrels with the bullets roaring past,
But neither man could aim for squat and when their guns were done
They’d killed two people in the bar but they weren’t either one.

The barman Blind-man Billy Bragg and the floozy Scar-Faced Sue
Lay dead as dead as doornails, as doornails tend to do,
And through the pall of gun-smoke and the mist of rum and beer
Deadeye Dan called out to Pete: “We’d best get out of here.”

And so they did, they fled the bar, and vanished in the night,
Back to their ship, The Crippled Cock, and sailed on out of sight,
Never to return to shore, and never seen again,
The rumour is they sank and drowned just off the Spanish Main.

The moral of the story is that when you draw a gun,
Be prepared to end your days always on the run,
“Or in your case, always on the limp,” said Dirty Deadeye Dan
To Peg-Leg Pete the Pirate, that very evil man.

Reincarnation of Turkey Tom - a Collaboration

*if ya wanna add some sillies, hop on the wagon!

After the feast, Tommy was gone
Hen said, "Don't worry, won't be for long."
"He'll reincarnate,
Just sit and wait."
"He's not just SOME - POET, Tommy's a song."

"He's always a gas, loads of fun,
With plenty of wit and good with a pun."
"If you miss him,
Be sure to kiss 'em,
When he comes again to shine like the sun."

By Jan Allison:

When he struts it engorges his snood
Oh my goodness that really sounds rude
It dangles from his beak
You must go take a peek
See Tom is the king of his brood.

By ilene bauer:

He was missed, though, by all of his group
Who felt bad he was out of the loop
So they jotted some rhymes
Thinking 'bout those good times
Now he's brought back to life on the soup!

By Alexis Y:

Tommy the turkey is not gone
He's hibernating and listening to a song
When he comes back
His strut won't be whack
Maybe this time he'll arrive with loud gong

By rogerPAT Adams:

When he struts it's more of a wobble
No matter if ground, grass or cobble
Though it might seem rude
When he's in the mood
I've heard he loves to gobble!

By Jack Ellison:

Tommy can be very rude at times
But down deep, his star really shines
His heart glows bright
Nothing bad I can write
Like his author, he's a master of rhyme"

Pd's Birthday Unicorn

Wake up! It's past ten in the morn!
Didn't you hear me honking my HORN?
Remember? It's October seven!
You forgot? God lord up in heaven!

Yes it's true, my fanciful dame
I'm that steed of mythical fame
Your wishes shall be my command
So may I have the pleasure, Madame?

You didn't know that Unicorns fly?
Oh yeah! We can streak through the sky!
Be prepared for a dazzling flight
'Cause I travel at the speed of light

Got a nice little flat on the moon
(No sweat, I got plenty of room)
We'll fly first to Venus, then Mars
Then I'll take you to visit the stars

Don't rub your eyes, I am real, PD
I exist just because you believe
C'mon! Time's-a-wastin' you know
Are you ready? Hop on! Here we go!...

Premium Member Corona - Revised a Lot

There’s a thing called Corona that’s going around,
and the yakety-yak of it’s bringing folks down,
for it’s not like some circus that’s coming to town!
If you turn on your telly, you’ll probably hear
lots of news shows predicting this virus is near,
and the airports stand empty from everyone’s fear.

Just a week ago one of my friends only paid
twenty dollars for a standard flight that he made.
I say THAT’S taking lemons to make lemonade!
I'd say hop on a plane for perhaps a low fee;
now however, that's nixed by new rules that I see.
Just take walks with your dog or stay in for your safety

Perhaps you'll go out. Put a mask on your face!
and a handiwipe's great so that you can erase
pesky germs that are lurking in every space.
While your neighbors are running like crazy to buy
extra paper for wiping their precious behinds,
go to Amazon. There a bidet you can find!

Everything is now closed. If it's not far away,
pay a visit to Mom (if allowed). and l say
try to think of your lockdown as some fun "stay-cay!"
Whatever you do, please stop buying Purell.
Leave that stuff for the folks who are truly unwell,
and please leave on the shelves toilet paper for sale!

Yes, a person could die, but folks die from the flu!
Just eat healthy, be cautious; that’s all you can do.
It is not the Black Plague that is coming for you!
Odds of dying from it - I believe - aren't THAT bad.
Many many events are now cancelled; it’s sad.
But have faith it will pass, like the Saggy Pants fad!

Premium Member Honest Reflections of a Manogre

A small patch of flowers, a mountain top glade
slapped into twirls of magenta by cold rain~
voiceless but pleading for the purity of truth
to be taken by {a} tender into the beating of dawn

In sundream they'll play, black butterly and fawnheart
tempering time untill dusk makes the crows bark,
cackling where was the {us} when living turned to blood
drowned the frolick of every prayer for tomorrow-

was it a chain of slanted decisions, that minced the light
bad luck (as when a dime slides from the ritze to the grate...
maybe we met long ago, when we crawled from the sea
took different directions by the will of a rogue breeze

maybe we had parallel lives?
made from the bones of wild planets of fire

what happens when magenta meets black and blue
[this is a good time to dust of the pallet-start mixing the hues],
what colors do a rabid cyclone leave behind
the texture of twisted stars,
to be swallowed by the devil of devine?

young butterfly remembers the innocense of light,
when moonglow made love to the black lips of night.
'till a pack of knives slashed at its wings
(ta hell with the good fight).
..now it no longer searches for mountain top flowers,
or dreams in pools of magenta-
it lies in the mud juggling broken eggs
upon a pile of old dung-
how in the hell can such a thing... love
again.
but their is a softness buried deep
in this blaze of a runaway train
hop on board if you will
follow the reflection of manogre...

Premium Member I Dreamt a Mermaid

I dreamt that I went swimming
In the deep blue sea
Along came a mermaid
Who swam right next to me

What most I remember
Is she pulled me underneath
Into a cave where it was dark
Deep, below the coral reef

She opened up my pocket
And she dropped a pearl inside
Then she said "Hop on my tail...
We're going for a ride"

She took me to a shipwreck
Decaying on the ocean's floor
And she wanted me to swim with her
Inside the captain's cabin door

Suddenly, we both swam inside
And she led me to some jewels
She said that they were thrown overboard
By some drunken pirate fools

She pointed to my pocket
With the pearl stuck in my vest
And she wanted me to take it out
So, I could return it with the rest

As soon as I returned the pearl
The mermaid lost her tail
Then, she walked the aisle with me
Wearing a "pearl white" veil

The next day before I fell asleep
I was happy and full of glee
Because I knew that I would kiss my wife
If I jumped into the sea

Premium Member Butter On the Popcorn

I reckon that everyone makes changes in their life ---
Some are major
                  and others not so big
Some we carefully plan
                  and others just happen
               Some changes are as sudden
                           as a flash of
                                      Lightening
                                           While others take place
slowly with the passing of time
Some changes bring new people -----------
                                               into our lives
                                                        While others
                                                                 Take those we love
                                                                         Away
Some changes we can see coming
While others we must look back
To even realize that they happened
Sometimes we make one change ------------------
                                                  And another just seems
                                                         To hop on board
                                                             All by itself
Years ago I made a choice in my life
                                                       To stop
                                               Being a drug addict
                                      And to become a rehabilitating
                                                      Drug addict
And so many changes ------------
                                  Have taken place
                                                           In my life -------------
Looking back I now realize ---------
That I have gone from a person --
Who used to start each day
Wondering ?????????????????????????
Who will I get mine from today
                                               To a Person
                                              Who now ask?
I wonder who needs my help today?
And everything else -------------------
Is just Butter on the Popcorn

Premium Member Slow Down, Time

                Wait! Wait! Slow down, time.
Try moving like a snail for once.
How quickly you drain your sand
As soon as the hourglass flips upside down.
Knock it flat; keep it horizontal, for once!

You shake me wide awake early morning,
Then you sprint off like Cheetah at full speed.
I need you to stand at ease; linger long enough
For me to at least savor all golden moments
With my better half before I walk out the door.

Slow down the ticking hand of the clock, time.
Stop drifting away with the evanescent clouds
And chasing after every gust of wind!
When will you learn to co-operate?
When parallel lines merge at infinity?

Wait for me. Just wait! Why not try walking?
I wish to put away my worn-out running shoes
Allow me to keep up with your supersonic speed
Pause the morning buses and trains
I drop things sprinting to hop on!

Let me catch up and let's stroll down
The footpath in the vernal meadow of life.
Let the world match you step by step.
Extend the halcyon days of summer
You move much too fast, you devil you!

Hold up! Can I at least get sick
Before I die? Work with me, time.
Where are you always hurrying off to?
I really wish you could crawl...
Just like a snail, very slowly.

Sometimes I Wish

Sometimes I wish I was away
Away for from here
But obligations keep me planted
So I cannot leave

I'll have to stay here until September
Then I can go on vacation

At least for now I can hop on my pen
And go wherever I please

It takes me over mountains
Through meadows open wide
Into stands of evergreens
Down to valleys low

With my pen I can ride the rising Sun
Or walk the setting moon home
I can swim with bottlenose dolphins
Or pet a lions Maine

I can climb the tallest redwood
Surf the biggest wave
All I need do is hop on my pen
And it takes me on my way

Traveling to distant lands
Deep within my mind
 Magical places wide-open spaces
Precious private time

Though obligations for the moment
Keep me planted here
My pen is always at the ready
To help me disappear

Unconditional

For so many years you been there for me
A souls connection which allowed me to just be
You understood me from beginning to end
You were one in a life time, my best friend

We have shared so many moments together during your earthly life
The pain of loss is cutting like a sharp knife

I find myself sometimes staring at where you would be
Waiting to share your unconditional love with me
Your great presence somewhere around playing hide-and-seek
A comforting spirit allowing me to peak

I miss your gentle soul in my presence
You helped me keep 'sane' in times I felt resistance
I knew i had borrowed time with you
I tried to embrace every second of my life with you too

I'm left now with only memories of us
Feels like my soul's on a hop-on-hop-off bus
In search of you to fill the emptiness you left in my heart
We were soulmates from the start

When the sky becomes dark
and star so bright
I think of you knowing I'm in your sight
With your support, understanding and unconditional love shining as the star's light
I'll forever hold you close to my heart,
Squeezing you tight.

With Valentines Day tomorrow we are celebrating love
light a candle and set our love free like a white dove
Celebrating what we had fitting like a perfect glove
Forever soulmates with unconditional love

For the Love of People

People living, feeling, caring bring comfort,
City people or country folk both enjoy strawberries,
Hick town people have plenty of space,
Suburban people new to earth’s cities draw dairies.

My people can contact your people who are beautiful people,
International people serve dessert people in sweet way,
People who need people, loving people, Christian people beautiful sway,
Peoplehood one united voice and service nationality pay in sun’s ray.

Queen’s people smile in Victorian delight,
Youth builders of nation – college people enthusiasm flow,
Music people brighten royalty people and the populace,
Humans voice people power, citizens of prosperity aglow.

Comfortable down-to-earth wholesome people smile,
Heaven’s rays touching caring people with serene comfort and peace,
Farm people grow wheat to bake spice cakes for sharing,
Mountain people and desert people shine using life’s lease.

Professional people helping working people with thoughtful consideration,
Traveling people hop on the people mover enjoying the ride,
Rodeo time in town welcomes western people on horses,
Family, relatives, ancestors bring tide of love far and wide.

Premium Member Runaway Train

Runaway train, coming down the track
A life of pain, carried on my back
Speeding by, towns with no names
You can’t cry, on the runaway train.

Sometimes life, takes you for a ride
Only nineteen and I’ve got a bride
Hop on board, stay by my side
“I want off”, is what she cried.

Runaway train, coming down the track
A life of pain, carried on my back
Speeding by, towns with no names
You can’t cry, on the runaway train.

Looking for a job, one can’t be found
Steal a loaf of bread, run outta town
Just trying to get by, the best I can
There’s no going, back home again.

Runaway train, coming down the track
A life of pain, carried on my back
Speeding by, towns with no names
You can’t cry, on the runaway train.
