Sometimes I Wish
Sometimes I wish I was away
Away for from here
But obligations keep me planted
So I cannot leave
I'll have to stay here until September
Then I can go on vacation
At least for now I can hop on my pen
And go wherever I please
It takes me over mountains
Through meadows open wide
Into stands of evergreens
Down to valleys low
With my pen I can ride the rising Sun
Or walk the setting moon home
I can swim with bottlenose dolphins
Or pet a lions Maine
I can climb the tallest redwood
Surf the biggest wave
All I need do is hop on my pen
And it takes me on my way
Traveling to distant lands
Deep within my mind
Magical places wide-open spaces
Precious private time
Though obligations for the moment
Keep me planted here
My pen is always at the ready
To help me disappear
