I never noticed diamonds in the sky before;
so mindless, let such moments pass me by before.

I never glanced a passing smile upon a face
of utter loveliness; it made me cry before.

I never hearkened such sweet, honeyed voice, so fell
upon the siren spell of Lorelei before

I never felt the brush of lips against my own
that were as soft as wings of butterfly before.

I never gave away the key that would unlock
my to heart be a caravanserai before.

I never suffered dawns sharp, stabbing agony
of partings, sorrow pain that I could die before.

I never knew it possible to soar so high;
and why? For there was not a you and I before.

Mother of the Earth

I’m the mother of the sprawling expansive earth,
From the greenest eastern hills to the western shores.
I own all those verdant plantations and their owners;
All the high quarters and the glittering executive doors.

Before the eyes of bubbling presidents opened
I was, and their virgin earthly cries drew my notice
Before the world knew the existence of waves,
The coming of talking toys found my fertile forties.

I’m the mother of the trendy multi-colored world
But I long ago ceased to claim a single thing in it.
They think I need a car and a chauffeur but, No!
I just need them to know I own every earth’s bit.

They think all I need is a dress and a matching scarf.
Of what use is a gown to a mother so full of mirth?
I need the haughty prized models only this to know:
They hold the fleeting beauty but I own the earth.

Their language is the chirruping of restless birds
And the mischievous kids think I ought this to learn,
They will never unravel the hidden wealth of my idiom
That gave them life and prosperity, and wit and fun!

I used to teach their deaf ears as their frames grew
But they ignored the genuine voice of their true soul,
Until another spoke with a weird tempting voice
And they naively hearkened to a stranger’ call.

The Unknown God

THE UNKNOWN GOD

Heavy the burden, but light is [the way].
That’s when you put the Lord [in its place].
The sun may not be shining, but your [spirit shows].
That’s your [inner being aglow].
Never a path undefined.
This is because his voice speaks divine [via the mind].
The teaching he provides is transcribed.
To share, sermonize.
What a wonderful life and beautiful choice to do the work of the Lord.
No man or woman can deny that you are the [Keeper of the Lord’s Shrine].
That is [a Holy place Divine].

The abstracted flush went astray.
Standing were the shadows of yesterday.
Awry the eyes appear in the dark.
Two clouds of gray were shown.
Midst sleuths prayer was heard.
The rays of light beamed from high above.
Sending tension to the silhouettes that stood where the shadows left.
The vibes were felt as fear took shape.
This is the Holy place of the Lord.
The Shrine has formed [as a precarious world].
This is where [iniquity meets the unknown God].

Transgression is natural within the seasons.
Through faith and belief, omnipotence is perceived.
The laws of humankind were transliterated and conceptualized
Until the [aspects of life] formalized.
[Politics, religion, family, work, and leisure time] are originates.
Faith is demarcated.
They said the Chariot of Fire is operated by the Lord’s Army.
Distinct is the chimes hearkened.
Pay attention to the alarm.
Stand your post and remain strong.
The universe has contravene and people will be destroyed.

The acumen is the perspicuity.
The knowledge is gen.
The voice is enunciation ascertain.

A Brand New Life

A BRAND NEW LIFE!

In time of peace, preach me.
In time of conflict, teach...

When life is forsaken
When strife is a hearkened

A fool will never win.
No skills for boob to give

The game of the chicken
Tame to be no bigger

A mind to do, endure
A brain to have, a cure

Newfangled in its essence
A tangled quintessence

Amman

Rays of sugarplums dance in the sun.
Children’s laughter was heard and enjoyed.
We should teach them to relish life while they are young.

Lights are dancing in the twilight.
A bright smile beams from across the room.
Teenagers’ embraced as they cabaret the dance floor.

Scurry a cat under the disco ball.
The elder sashayed to discourage this fiasco.
Contentment and joy was hearkened.

Joseph, Moses, and John
Mary, Maria, and Joyce
Three boys and three girls

Socialization took face.
You could overhear family telling about their generations.
The connections they made were quite amazing.

As the sun, came glinting through the pines,
I hearkened, to euphonies, the wind was playing.
While eavesdropping, from within my confines,
I pondered what message it might be conveying.

As I yawned, stretched and opened the blinds,
I returned to the thoughts previously weighing.
Now, my wall exhibited, Levolor sketched designs,
I hope that you’ve seen what I’ve tried portraying.

The Morning Star of Love

My eyes glittered into the eyes
Of thee who cast a spell on my heart
They glanced each other with pleasure
Upon hearing thy contralto voice,
Or seeing thy sight;
Thy presence in all:
I smiled with passion.
Under the proximity of the roof we communicated.
At last, we settled our funny dating.

We watched not each other of fear,
But overshadowed by the confidence of love
We, albeit the impediments enhanced from outsiders,
Loved our dear selves innately.
Didn't they say we aren't fit to be dearer?
Bravo! that we hearkened not unto them.
My love for thee exceeded the heights of the stars—
Which could not be succumbed to fall.

Aye, our love was no fancy
'Twas agapic as the natural world itself
We both couldn't say we loved each other!

Balanced unto that time
Not till when some other person,
In his calibration incomparable to mine,
Bewitched my thee to make her fed up with me
Our love, therein, became fancy,
Thus, fancy! 'cause we were no longer dearer.
It went deep to my faith!
I thereafter realized the troth of the saying:
"The beginning of Trust is the end of Deception."

February 14 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Numbers 21-24

Key Verse– Numbers 21:3 And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY VICTORIOUS DELIVERER

Lord God, You are my victorious Deliverer along Your winning assurance
Thank You for fighting against my discouragement’s appearance
Also conquering my loathsome arrogance midst stubborn temperance
Surely smiting my carnality of vain endurance.

Lord God, You are my victorious Deliverer along Your perfect direction
Thank You for pulling me from the wilderness of worldly devastation
Also protecting me from sword of humanistic destruction
Surely saving me against captivity of fleshly consumption.

Lord God, You are my victorious Deliverer along Your set design
Thank You for rescuing me from distress that evil schemes assign
Also guarding me from curses to which my soul could resign
Surely upholding me against quitting You refuse to sign.

Lord God, You are my victorious Deliverer along Your gracious hand
Thank You for enclosing my heart with Your compassion so grand
Also sealing me around Your holiness of good works’ demand
Surely preventing me against not obeying Your command.

Lord God, You are my victorious Deliverer along Your honourable deed
Thank You for building me up upon Your strong foundation I need
Also strengthening my faith by Your Word indeed
Surely setting me toward Your standards I must heed.

Lord God, You are my victorious Deliverer along blessings You declare
Thank You for smashing my selfishness moved by personal welfare
Also teaching me generosity of loving care
Surely hedging me against enchantments of emptiness-flair.

Lord God, You are my victorious Deliverer along Your sovereign dominion
Thank You for instructing me to avoid deceitful opinion
Also preserving me from compromises’ union
Surely ushering me by Your truth to serve while looking toward Zion.

I AM THE SON OF A BASTARD SON

I am the son of a bastard son,
He did not’t know his father, never met him or talked to him.
He had no example, he had no man of his own flesh and blood to turn to.

I am the son of a bastard son,
He did not know his father, but he knew the Father.
He went to schools that abused him, he was in a world that abused him.
But he never ran and fought for what was right.

I am the son of a bastard son.
He did not know his father, but he knew many people who taught him.
And he hearkened his ear to wisdom.
He kept hearkening his ear to wisdom and he fought and never ran.

I am the son of a bastard son,
And he used to take me to church where I learned of the Father and the Son.
And I sang.

I am the son of a bastard son.
And I used to run.
I ran and ran and ran, but my heart was as big as the sun.

I am the son of a bastard son.
And he taught me logic and reason and truth.
And with that logic and reason and truth I learned compassion.

I am the son of a bastard son.
And with my compassion I tried to save the world.
And the pain of the world began to beat down on me.
And the pain of my brethren began to beat down on me, so that I felt I had to run.
And the pain of my sisters began to beat down on me, so that I could not bear it.
And I ran.

And my father, the son of a bastard son.
He said, my son, you cannot run.
You must stand my son.
You must accept that about the world which you must accept and change that,
which you can change, and do the best you can.
For you are an imperfect creature and how can an imperfect creature expect to
live in a perfect world?
You must not run my son, you must stand and do the best that you can.

And I was on the edge of death about to take my own life.
And the Mother above said, you can run my son.
You can run and I will receive you.
But if you stand, if you stand, if you stand my son, then you will be a man.
And so I stood.

I am the son of a bastard son.
He did not know his father.
And because long ago he decided that his son would not be a bastard son.
Because he decided to stand and never ran, I am a man.

Jonah's Calling

A vision of Jonah I did not see,
Nor did I hear the Lord speak
(Who pitied the wicked city of Nineveh)
When He said to His servant, Jonah,
“Arise and go to Nineveh for me.”
“Set me free!” Jonah cried and said to himself,
“They are but strangers to me.”
And the Lord heard Jonah’s heart
And turned.

In shame, Jonah ran away
To Tarshish, where he boarded a cargo ship,
Which got caught in a tempest.
And lots were drawn
And Jonah was thrown overboard
And was swallowed by a huge fish
(Jonah prayed, and the Lord hearkened to him)
Which, after three days, vomited him onto dry land.

And the Lord spoke to Jonah a second time,
“Arise and go to Nineveh for me.”
This time Jonah obeyed,
And the Lord’s anger was abated
Because the debaucherous city of Nineveh
Repented.
However, Jonah was jealous
Of the Lord’s compassion for Nineveh
And sulked under the shade of a tree.
“It is so cool under the gourd,” thought Jonah.
“Why should I leave? Where is my love?”

Then, a worm ate the plant,
Causing Jonah to suffer from the heat,
Who then turned and cursed the Lord.
And the Lord spake to Jonah a third time,
“And yet, you did not plant the gourd,
Nor did you tend to it.
You know not whence it lives
And canst not say when it shall die.
Shall I not have compassion for the people of Nineveh
Who cannot tell their left hand from their right?
Dost thou do well to be angry with me?”

And I remembered, written in the Book of Isaiah 1:18,
Of the Lord’s abounding love and patience.
“Come now, and let us reason together,” saith the Lord.
“Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow;
Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

New Day
     New beginning
          New life

Body still bleeds

Days have been a pawn of struggles
Quest for long reach upon every dawn
an ardent mind, a vision of concern
sorrow, sobs, and fears patience mourned
Retch the grim laggard illness unadorned
idle morns, stark painful weary days,
hearkened to the long chanting nights bray
warm dreams for a
     New life..
          New beginning..
               New day

The Green Eyed Monster

I hearkened to my better side, it bade me make amends,
For if not what was there, would then forever end.

A bitter mistress jealousy, my mind could hardly cope,
Thinking only of myself, harsh were those words I spoke.

Unfounded were my utterings, I had spoken like a child,
'Twas love that had unsettled me, my mind ran fast and wild.

But my love, she took me back she listened to my plea,
It was my undying love for her that stirred my jealousy.

I am not the first of many fools who love leaves insecure,
But let not the green eyed monster, sully what is pure.

From Soles To Souls

Yesterday I saw my worn out sole
The blue shoe has been housed in a bag of dust for long
I packed it like an old gift
And followed the path to the cobbler
But times have changed
Mr old lanky cobbler no longer mend soles
'I have a new calling', he told me in his cracking voice
'Soles no longer feed my pocket'
'I'm now in the business of harvesting souls'
'It is a heavenly calling, which my pocket whispered to me'
He took me to his old workshop
And I saw the new renovation
Rosaries now sit on the wooden wall threads once adorned
Battered shoes and abandoned bags no longer lay on the ground
My old cobbler no longer work on soles
He is now a man who hearkened to the voice of his pocket
Once a sole mender, now a soul harvester

A Lollipop Day

A swing stalls mid swings
kicked dirt strewed a ground
a swing seat goes empty
a boy whacks away at clung dirt
     ~~lawn trails a dusty path,

Blue jeans stand at attention
further treatment closely probed
necessitates a full body turn
involved mother gives a once over
     ~~okay liberates eagerness,

Parental engagement outlines a day
unnoticed enterprises the mischief
a fresh face glistens on chrome
skewed mouth pose for finger rubs
     ~~teeth shine on car's trappings,

Innocence mounts the vinyl backseat
a carlock mercilessly rewrites gravity
a body twists and a matchbox car rolls
neath a rear window, movement felt
     ~~a father's voice sits a boy,

A mother hearkened locks a seatbelt
a town flies pauses, then flies again
a mother leaves a father and the boy
whose eyes are fascinated by spirals
     ~~a barber's pole swirls,

A squirmish boy enticed to bestilled
snip's squints a boy's mirrored face
as scissors repeatedly being flexed
by a talented barber precise styles
     ~~a mother's return smiles,

A powdery roughhoused brushing
thoroughly adds a soothing resolve
they wait as a father has his turn
then they leave with shorter hair
     ~~gust cools heads with ease,

A mother pays as a family leaves
a couple of stops, a few stores later
he now finds himself seated on a swing
a mother directly relieves a barber's gift
     ~~back-kick swing lifts, lollipop licks.

REVELATION OF A STALKER

my daughter brought her stalker date
i watched him closely...my eyes penetrate
like a bloodhound, my nose to heels
he feels my presence in the revolving door

he’d call when she wasn’t home
just to hear my voice upon the phone
i told her to make it very clear
to cut him loose without a tear

he tried to penetrate her heart
to fill the chambers with goosebump art
with saran wrap clarity a mama knows
she follows each precarious footfall

he crept into our night with his stalker coat
the leather long, foreboding weaponry
a stalker tells his tale straight up
“Some people are scared of me”

with a heart of gold, my daughter hearkened
to this mother’s knowledge of good and evil
we stomped out the fire, until it was cold
removed the ash, buried it, eyes shut tight
