Best Healthful Poems

Premium Member The Chicken Instigator

All chickens here assembled, rise and fight.
It’s not enough the humans steal our eggs;
They cut our tender breasts, and that’s not right!
Stand tall upon your skinny chicken legs.

Stand tall and show them all you have some pluck
All chickens here assembled, rise and fight.
Tell all mankind that you don’t give a “cluck.”
Stop cowering like puppy dogs. Unite!

We’re raised unnaturally. Though plump and white,
We’re not all THAT; we’re caged and given grief!
All chickens here assembled, rise and fight.
We must convince mankind to turn to beef!

We’ve got to make them lustful for a steak;
to find the COW more healthful; see the light:
Say no to K. F. C or Shake ‘n Bake!
All chickens here assembled, rise and fight.

Premium Member Not Just Any Tree

I am a tree, so I wish to be,
but not just any tree you'd find.
I love the heat and not wet feet,
so there are few options in mind.
I'm not too sour or great in power,
so citrus or mango isn't me.
I have purpose and reason, fruit in due season.
My favorite color is my fruit's rind---
maroon cased, beautiful taste
with kisses of wisdom sun-shined.
My fruit's insides have great meaning,
each seed a prize to appreciative eyes
with fresh scented delights made for gleaning.
I'm a healthful symbol with branches nimble.
My fruit is astringent, juicy, and sweet,
charming to behold, a pleasure to hold.
I'm a pomegranate tree holding your treat.

Premium Member Green

"But green's the color of spring
And green can be cool and friendly like
And green can be big like a mountain
Or important like a river or tall like a tree"
Verse from Bein' Green by Andrew Bird, sung by Kermit the frog

Grasshopper, caterpillar, praying mantis, gecko, and iguana
Really healthful veggies and fruits like grape, apple, pear and lime.
Eyes like mine, fields, tennis courts, and plants like marijuana!
Emeralds and jade, Kermit, Hulk, and Shrek, and yukky slime.
Nature wears it best with trees and leaves, and ivy that can climb.

Premium Member Autumn Beyond Doubt

A feast of eye-catching hues swirl midair,
stoic fragile leaf a chill whisper,
overt orange, deep vein red,
pallid yellow, scaly amber,
jumble upon bright clad jumble,
earthbound mattress on a grey mud plot,
bald cypress, Norway maple,
crepe myrtle, pin oak,
shed their raw-hewn splintered twig,
amid the waning sun in bleak morph,
late August and September tread,
damp weather bashful pilgrimage,
acorn mulch stuck between the grooves,
of rugged footwear on limp moss,
along harvest ripened pastures,
hardy toilers lay their white ash scythe,
they reap, gather and proudly stack,
turnips, pumpkins, squash, beet, zucchini,
lifeblood to thriving market square,
rustic idyl diet, whetstone oven backdrop,
whiffs of healthful soup simmering,
bowls scraped, hunger sated,
red ember coal fire glows,
aromatic haze taunt the frozen nose,
symbolic fall eon meter pending,
 still a buoyant risen spirit

Premium Member One Wild Flower

A wild flower, grew up through
a crack in the pavement, I wondered,
why already not trampled
by so many preoccupied feet?

Sat I down on a
park-bench, further pondering this yellow
charmer, to which I cordially gave greet --

“little tenant,” oh just missed another!

Thinking I saw it, knowingly parry aside;

(one wild flower, persistent, determined
not its beauty to hide.)

Unaware came a team of training joggers,
in colorful, striped briefs; legs and tennis shoes
thoughtlessly-trouncing-everywhere –

Feared I this brave little trooper had finally been
dealt its fatal wild share -- the wind of the runners' healthful,
self-indulgent passing, seemed more a cyclone of careless,
petulant stomping – no sense a little blossom would
they spare!

Deeply rooted in soil, it could not retreat, without vocal
cords it could not plead a shriek – could not shield itself
from such crushing, annihilating defeat.

Sat there I a sad bit longer -- would not dare open my eyes, felt
a tear slipping, my heart seeming knee-deep in morbid dripping.
Smeared blossom, and grieving sunbeams, saw I like a funeral's
dark-arm-band – a segment of my bright world, had just tragically
ended...gone with the lone blossom's, last futile, floral stand –

till a child opened my eyes, making me take peak,

a sweet little voice, not the least tinge bleak, as they carefully parted: “Oh
mother, isn’t that dandelion so dashingly chic!?

Premium Member Gingko Tree

"To hold as 'twere, the mirror up to nature. "
William Shakespeare," Hamlet 1601."

Long ago another planted you,
My cherished Ginkgo tree.
She tamped you in so carefully
And bequeathed you unto me.
Did she then live to see you grow
So stately and so tall?
And to see your charming bright green dress
Turn golden in the fall?

You’re clothed in pretty fan shaped leaves,
A tree beyond compare.
How many robin families,
Have nested in you, Maidenhair?
Although other trees have broken,
‘Neat the north wind’s violent gale;
You, Ginkgo pay no heed at all.
To winter’s abusive rail.

Your forebears came from China,
Where they were long revered,
And studying under their branches
An old sage with his beard.
Your kind was here as early
As the first ferns and their spores.
No tree has longer history,
Your fathers knew dinosaurs.

Strange that old Mother Nature,
Decided you should survive so long,
While we humans sometimes die before
The last verse of our song.
The answer to long life and health,
Is in the leaves of the Maidenhair tree.
If you let me pluck a few of yours,
I’ll brew up my cup of tea.

If only the one who planted you,
Had known of your power.
She could have drunk of Ginkgo tea,*
And been here for happy hour.

* Ginkgo leaves are touted as being healthful . Won a 5th place

Unemployment

UNEMPLOYMENT....

All we hear about is unemployment,
Appears to be a global torment,
Couldn't we think of creative solutions,
New inventions, using less pollution?
New ideas, concepts for the plebs to need,
What can we invent today? Yes indeed!
We could start by teaching global literacy,
Imagine how many books we'd need!
What about one holistic food capsule,
Made in Australia, daily and healthful?
Then we could grow forests and sell trees,
The world does need oxygen to breathe!
We could sell the world books and food pills,
Get your own ideas, we're not such dills,
Let's hear this motto in our schools,
What can we invent today? Beautiful!

Premium Member In the Shadows of the Truth

The truth may not be
what it seems,
when wry words
penetrate innocent
minds and classic
flora
like sweet hemlock,
waits with a secret agenda.
 “A labyrinth of schizophrenic
evil of a mind
about to begin”

Take the Pyramids of Egypt
a wondrous sight for all,
who cares about the mayhem
aimless spirits forever to waul

In the throes of womanhood
Delilah! She didn’t really care,
betrayed the local superstar
skillfully removing his hair.

Oration to fool all nations
many lifetimes of deceit,
sacred music tuned into tears
gullible folk a joy to cheat!

Children abused constantly
each atrocity fuels the seed,
for are they not the lambs of God
That condones this very deed?

Young men, emulator of “Hollywood”
Off to war as God-fearing men.
Someone knew Iraq’s secret
deep within valley, hill and fen?

For a hundred years the baron
introduced a most healthful threat,
wrapped around golden Virginian
to help the national debt!

Speech impaired by amber waters
lifelong snares within the hop,
mountains moved to accompany it
so to appease them on the Kop!

Beware you all upon this planet
the greatest threat well down the track,
industrial revolution
empathy disguised a whole new tack..!

Labeled as a healthful
Legume, this root is sweet
Like sugar, but with a
Long-lasting, stronger taste!
Lollipop licks of it
Linger on my tongue. I
Love its unique flavor!

Diet Coke, icy cold, has fame.
Spiked with cherry or lime, it’s tame,
I buy the brand Shasta
because my drink hasta
use Splenda, not bad aspartame.

Our Words

Some have the habit of hurling angry words that wound
and stir up strife...
But I admire the one who uses words of kindness, filled
with love that heals and nourishes life.

Some use words like a sword to cut, to hurt and to bring
others down...
But words of kindness offer a pleasant uplifting and helpful
sound.

Life and death are in the power of one's tongue...
And this wisdom we should share with others but
especially with the young.

Let us keep our words healthful and kind...
And wherever we may go a friendlier welcome we
should find.

Our Words have tremendous power and we should
learn to use them right...
So let us remember, our kind words are like a healing
light.

Premium Member Caesar Salad

Contrary to popular belief, it did not come from Rome.
California in the USA is what it calls home.
This rather simple salad is considered fabulous.
All you need to make it is a little romaine lettuce.
Take a piece of lemon, and squeeze it for the juice.
Giving this salad a slightly tangy taste is its use.
Throw in some oil and vinegar, and some parmesan cheese.
What you have is something that will please.
Do not worry if tomatoes are out of season.
They do not go into the recipe is the reason.
Want to dress it up some more? Take some chicken from the grill.
Now you have an entrée salad that will thrill.
If they do not like vegetables, this is a great way
to see they get their healthful serving of five a day.

Premium Member Wonderstruck With Edenic Tree Flowers

I know the land where spiritual trees flower
There in Eden’s garden* of blessed beauty
Midst grand creation displaying God’s power
Wondrously marvelous with goodness-bounty!

Wellness’ scent pervades as love-grace trees flower
Along healthful herbs perfuming paradise
Refreshing soul toward celestial tower
In communion with the loving Friend Who’s Wise.

I hope to behold the mercy-trees flower
While delighted with the melody of the lark
Along symphony-praises of leaves' shower
Extolling the Lord’s glory in nature’s park.

How I rejoice when the faith-propped trees flower
Flashing pretty scenes in my Father’s vineyard
Triumph-bliss of harvest, great yields of sower
Grateful hearts due to labor’s fruitful reward!

*Genesis 2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Farting

Farting is a cool poised own vis
Has safe six-fold gains of wellness
It may seems cannot -at all- be a vista
Yet, sure it does good to your viscera
It is fine to say to it "be a vis"!
It is all natural healthful process
No need for any sort of prowess
Laughing because of a sudden fart,
Rudely that is seems its only fine art
