a prison of pretense
and I still dream of
walking through tempests of chaos
barefoot,
allowing stones and pebbles
to tattoo my languid skin with love in lilac,
as ashes of yesterday
erase the thunder marks
that struck my spine
in ruthless rhythm,
oblivious to the scorching solitude
that swallowed the stars
swaying across...

They marched to field
Their fate was sealed
A life to yield
As deaths increase

I closed my eyes
To realize
With deepest sighs
I came in peace

Premium Member Cradle Songs In Hallowed Hands
'Twas God's cradle, not a stork, that carried her to earth
A babe nestled in God's loving hands prepared for birth
Still enraptured by heaven's spirit, feeling its mirth
God's hands remained after birth to ensure this child's worth

God's hands left her in safety at a monastery,
This...

Premium Member My Wedding Day of Hallowed Rest
My wedding day of hallowed rest. My Lord —
not too soon nor too late. My eyes looked up

and danced as He descended and I rose.
Oh look! I smile! O gentle son of God.

The praise of lifted hands - the joy of church.
Forth jubilee good angels...

Premium Member Hallowed Ground
I remember well the small farm scene
Where a man driving a tractor through the wide open
Field was doing all he could, hoping
The clouds might bring rain.

Tomorrow would be none too soon
And afterwards, he said, “We could laugh and dance
As if...

As the breath fills our hallowed chest with life
and heart beats upon drum of anch’ring bone
so prayerful meditation eases strife,
through dance and strum, we know, we’re not alone.
Our mantras swell, their sibilance alive…
with searching sounds we join here to atone
the flute will call, the...

Don'T Stall a Hallowed Harvest
A little smile delights my soul
A little money appreciates my life
A little love achieves my goal
A little care flatters my wife

Strengthening my resolve to perform better
Duties and responsibilities I bear
In my role as family pace and trend setter
In spite of mundane outfit and suit...

Premium Member All Too Many Hallowed Battle Grounds
The struggle is not between
East and west or
Worst and best, but lies
On a far more slippery slope
Connecting the cold dark, canopy of night
With the light of hope.

The battle rages
Throughout the ages
Like wild fire burning
Grass and trees below
Mother...

Theres a thinning between the realms this night.A time and place for souls to cross the Great Divide of Life and Death. If mine broke free and chanced to pass Your way, would You feed on it,feel the need of it as You took My breath away?Would...

Premium Member Hallowed Dusk
An evening wanes
over the hills
to trail away,
far from sight...
my eyes observe
a hallowed dusk
evanescing
into the mist,
as clouds are flushed
with hints of rose
lavender,
and mild orange,
that petals drop
bowed silhouettes
into a dreamy
afterglow.
This mystic breath
carries me high,
on twilight's crown--
a quiet ripple
when nothing
but the grace of lull,
ascends...

All Hallowed Eve
Scary faces peer
Down the eerie pumpkin paths
Doorbells ring from fright

All the boys and ghouls
Spooky creatures of the night
Undead creep around

Keep those goblins safe
As they fill those bags with treats
Welcome Halloween!

Hallowed Dawn
An empty poets soul has dimmed.
With after glow his poem is trimmed.
A feathered brain of craven caw.
With only raven black he saw.

An epic presence never told.
A will that has been bought and sold.
Shaded glory towards the night.
An empty heart against the blight.

Horizons pasted on the...

Hallowed Ground Bleeds
The prideful passion practiced and prolonged in fertile life,
Rejects all calls to wasted whimsy in this willful world.
Aware redundancies occur with suffering and strife
Some still display with honor our great nation's flag unfurled.

There's glory in the glory of a greater guarantee,...
