Hallowed Ground

As the breath fills our hallowed chest with life
and heart beats upon drum of anch’ring bone
so prayerful meditation eases strife,
through dance and strum, we know, we’re not alone.
Our mantras swell, their sibilance alive…
with searching sounds we join here to atone
the flute will call, the rattle then will shake
our prana joins, we finally wake.

Ahh good question, the poem just wrote itself. It may need a rewrite. you have any ideas? In the 4th line why not change we're to we are. I have a problem with contractions. I like the flow of your words here. May you do well in the contest. Take care, jancarl
