Its whispering gentle
through breeze to leaves
rustling each to a frenzied clamor
Can you hear the heightened sound?
Inaudible then so loud...so Loud!!
So loud you cant hear at all
As the days slip past do you
stop and listen?
Greatness calls!
Aptitude resides in minds...hiding in wait
as a coiled snake rearing to strike
A glimpse...a flash...a window we passed
our sight steering down a narrow hall
life carrying our feet too fast to see...
to left or right in brilliant hues
So vibrant and lively, ideas hiding in wait
Can you see them in the passing panes?
A moment of brilliance lays dormant
awaiting your attentive audience
Greatness calls!!
Outside stimuli grows so rapid
numbing our minds of freedom
processing the intake derails a train of thought
A locomotive whose motive is motivation
Rumbling on tracks reverbing through your soul
Can you feel the power surge in your veins?
raising hairs with the electricity of knowing...
...knowing an idea tingles with possibility?
crawling below the surface of skin
Itching for pores to release it
Greatness calls!!!
Sweetly epiphany drips of honey
cooing with a flavor we seldom devour
To settle for dreaming is to savor bittersweet
repression attacks the tongue so sour
Can you taste the food for thought?
A peach drizzling juicy images with clarity
sating the tongue, these dulcet revelations
Greatness calls!!!!
In realization the scent of lilac spring lingers...
fresh and intoxicating with the nectar of creativity
Wafting through with pleasing achievement
swirls of petals and spice compound a nasal euphoria
Yet in squandering ability lays the stench of rot
Reaking strong of regret this stagnating refuse
overpowers with the odor of inhibition
Can you smell the promise of flowers blooming?
in spite of doubt using rubbish for compost
Emitting a fragrance of intense talent

for such a time as this of political upheaval and economic uncertainty
how does anyone go about determining what is their God-given destiny?
what is our purpose in the grand scheme of God's desires?
what is it from us that the Lord Our God requires?
God gave each of us life for a reason
and will call upon each of us in due season
there will be some sacrificing and moving out of comfort zones
just remember that whatever God asks of you, you won't have to do it alone
for the battle is not just yours it also belongs to the Lord
and God won't let you write a check that you cannot afford
God will move you to a place and then give you an obstacle to overcome
but through Jesus you have the victory so consider the battle won
just trust in God to give you all that you will need
so that His set purpose for your life will come to seed
like Queen Esther, Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth and Rosa Parks
women destined for greatness who were beacons in society's dark
they did what was necessary for the greater good
to put the needs of others before their own as we all should
they stood up and confronted the so-called powers that be
in righteous indignation in order to save humanity
so let God position you where you'll prosper and be strong
and then use you as a vessel to make right a wrong
it might not make much sense to you and you might even disagree
but God knows what's best when it comes to determining your destiny
so just say yes to any and all that of you God does ask
and believe unconditionally that He'll equip you for the task
and as long as you remain resilient in your resolve
between you and God the situation will get solved
destined for greatness as mothers, mentors, lawyers or teachers
destined for greatness as activists, doctors, scientists or preachers
it matters not the capacity nor the career for you that God did choose
we're women destined for greatness and as children of God we cannot lose
B.C. has been the acronym applied
for all events before out dear Lord’s birth.
Who knew another god would change the tide
and wield a power of great global worth?
To what do I refer? Or have you guessed
the god to which we each now bow our head?
No matter our religion, all are blessed
with this thing vital as our daily bread.
It took away the jobs of common men
and gave new jobs to geeks. You now must know
this god of our new world, who loves all sin
as well as good, has nothing it won’t show!
I think “Before Computers” seems a way
to say A.D. became a new B.C.
Now things have changed so much that I would say
that my own past is ancient history!
Before Computers, life was not so fast,
and even in the 90’s I could keep
abreast of news and make my free time last.
High-tech today both makes me thrill and weep!
More time for family, a slowed down pace,
more time for God; I weep for things we’ve lost.
yet thrilled am I to see the human race
now bonding. But we do it at what cost?
Our children growing lazy, rude, and fat
and less connected, addicts to a phone!
To play outside. . . . Do you remember that?
B.C. meant doing more things on your own.
With jobs, our kids and all our lives at stake,
we now embrace our new computer age,.
Omitting our true God is the mistake
that might well do us in; we must be sage!
Recall the values getting left behind
as into this computer age we cruise.
Look back to decades past and you will find
B.C. had greatness that we must not lose.
For Deb's Contest (B.C. = Before Computers)
On a stool she sat at Greatfather's
feet,
He feeding her ice cream as a
birthday treat.
Two years old sitting up straight,
to catch each yummy spoonful,
Mouths open both of them.,
as the ice cream goes in.
Sun shining brightly in the bay
window, leaving both in a cool-
shaded silhouette .
A random picture taken,
turns a sweet gesture into
a loving memory for the two
of them.
Immortalized now forever in time,
in a large frame,
on a table beside the big green
chair ,
Only he sits in.

F is for Famous,to be known you need to be seen,
G is for Great,a leader needs to have a sound mind,

U is for Unique ;garment of success is a nice attire to be worn,
V is for Value; you are important and of real quality like no one,
W is for Weakness,you need not be wary but very strong
X is for X-men,the world has been waiting for super-human for so long
Y is for Yummy; True greatness is delicious when consumed,
Z is for Zenith;to get to the peak,seriousness must be groomed,
No matter how tough the situation is,try to endure,

Poem 1
When I look at the Nile or Niger
My heart overflows with joy for such a wonder
As currents daringly flow on each iconic river
Every fountain has wealth embedded in its waters
Each mountain, sealed by the richness of history
This is the reason I recognize a path
A path filled with promises
Promises to make Africa great
In fact, Africa is already great
What a marvellous sight to behold!
Imagine a variety of wildlife in Togo
Comforting sounds of birds across Comoros
Outstanding presence of gazelles in Cameroon
Supernatural nests of swallows from epic Chad
Historical archives found in artistic Mali
Fashion trending all the way from Malawi

TRUE GREATNESS.
We all are superior beings,
The kinds that make the world have a true sense of meaning,
Every move we make has a cause,
For without such risks the doors to success close,
Let’s spend each hour with reason,
And make sacrifices with patience filled devotion.
Never doubt the talents at your disposal,
Even if it meant going out of your way to give it your all,
Despise all forms of negativity that creep about,
As they will draw you back and make you feel left out,
Don’t turn yourself into an unforgiving mess,
Because all that you stand for is greatness.
a lot of intrigue, plenty of danger and a little bit of romance
a fatal conspiracy, God's destiny with a touch of bribery and finance
the Bible's book of Esther reads like a modern novel that contains all these things
but the book of Esther never mentions the Lord God by His name
even thougth the Lord God's name is not written
the presence of the Lord is certainly not hidden
King Xerxes of Persia had a feast and was in a drunken stance
when he ordered Queen Vashti to come forth and perform a risque dance
Queen Vashti refused to abide by the King's drunken request
the King was so affronted that he kicked out of the royal nest
King Xerxes was a ruler with a weak constitution
easily swayed by others in his royal conclusions
influenced by his cronies he signed many decrees and unfair laws
to inebriated and unable to see that they were flawed
with Queen Vashti now exiled the King desired to attain a new queen
and that was when a comely Jewish maiden arrived on the scene
her heritage and nationality remained unknown to the monarchy
until the day King Xerxes signed a most horrendous decree
a plot was put into place, its purpose to destroy the Jews
so Queen Esther urged by her Uncle Mordecai knew what she had to do
and despite the fact that her actions would put her life on the line
she saw the hand of God at work and knew that this was now her time
for such a time as this her mission was to be an agent for the Lord
her destiny was to make right a wrong and put all in accord
destined for greatness by following God's holy instructions
destined for greatness to save a nation from total destruction
God is in charge and will use any woman or man
to fulfill His promises according to His master plan
God is sovereign and He's in total control
so give Him all the glory when He defines for you your role
Queen Vashti's removal allowed Queen Esther to be in a place
positioned by the hand of God to provide her people His saving grace
for nothing in life in coincidence, it's all God's destiny
according to His Holy Word that is the prophecy
destined for greatness for such a time as this
the Bible's book of Esther a story that should not be missed
I love the greatness
I must steal the greatness!
You are extreme in beauty
perfected by builders who constructed all
your planking with pine trees from Ivory coast
and made a mast for you out of the combined crafts
from brown ebony and snake wood.
Out of the oaks from Bashan your Oars are made
and from the cypress wood of Cyprus
your decks crafted and inlaid with ivory.
Your awning of blue and purple fabric are from Egypt
and the inhabitants of America would be your rowers.
These rowers will bring you unto the high seas
you’ll become full and heavily loaded in its heart
the countryside shakes at the sound of your sailor’s cries
and all those who handle an oar will disembark from their ships
The whole of Europe is your trading partner in choice garments,
Cloaks of blue and embroidered materials and multicolored carperts
which are bound and secured with cords in your market place.
Your deals encompasses constant exchanges of turquoise,
Corals, rubies, wheat from minnith, white whool, wrought Iron,
Cassia and aromatic cane.
Costal lines are your trading gardens
and Roman ships will be the carriers of your goods.
Your captains are your wise men and your wise men
are the elders of Spain and Portugal
who take charge in repairing your leaks.
Your skyline will shade the sun and your islands, enrich the oceans
you’ll be the wealthiest in culture and diversity
because of your traders and visitors trooping from all corners of the Earth.
Come forth now and prosper
for greatness and fortune await your enrichment.
