Premium Member Goldilocks and the Free Beers

The cabin was stood there, its door was ajar
The owners were out but they couldn’t be far
She was so thirsty she needed a drink
Did she wait outside... well what do you think

She pushed on the door, ‘Is there anyone there’
I’m just a wee girl who has long golden hair
She thought to herself there is nobody here
But there on the table three glasses of beer

She stood there a while her hands on her hips
That beer looked refreshing and she licked her lips
One glass was small, it was gone in two sips
Another so big it had double hand grips

She couldn’t resist it she drank that as well
Then eyeballed the middle one, oh, what the hell
A medium glass which was just as well
For she felt her bladder was starting to swell

She went to the loo she was now feeling rough
She heard a door creak and a voice that was gruff
She knew what came next, it was more than a hunch
She knew there was no such thing as a free lunch

And so pretty soon she was pinned to the floor
And paid for the drinks, perhaps a few more
But ‘loving’ for beer? She wished she was dead
And then the big glass fell right on his head

He let out a groan and was totally zonked
A lump on his head from where he’d been bonked
She needed some help, there was no-one about
But Goldilocks belched... and then she passed out

The front door swung open and three bears stood there
What the heck’s going on asked a shocked Mummy bear
Daddy bear grumbled, both confused and mad
And Baby bear said... Who’s under grandad

Goldilocks

She's been gone for 16 years now
but her memory lingers on.
It seems like only yesterday,
I still can't believe she's gone!

From the first day that I met her,
there was never any doubt.
She's the one who taught me,
what love was all about.

Whenever I came home from work,
she met me at the door!
She was always glad to see me,
we had such great rapport.

In the evening while I watched TV,
she would snuggle in real tight.
Then when bedtime rolled around,
she would sleep with me all night.

We loved each others company
it coud not be denied.
For 14 years, my faithfull friend,
was right there by my side.

Her breed was, Boston Bulldog,
but she was gentle as could be.
Her coat was mostly brown and white,
but was a true-blue friend to me!

I've had happy times throughout my life,
of that, there is no doubt!
But "Goldilocks", my canine friend,
showed what love was all about!

Premium Member Into the Blue

Into the blue, another new dimension;
into the blue- our destiny is Mars.
A strong reality, long-term ascension-
into the blue among the planets, stars.

Those former sci-fi program memories
   will soon become a realistic fact;
our NASA teams now speak of guarantees
that man of Earth on Mars is not abstract.

Into the blue they'll go; six months asleep,
   suspended animation all the way,
in modules filled with six and wired to keep
all fed and breathing on their space beltway.

A new frontier for earthlings to soon tool-
to Mars, perhaps a planet in that space
where not too hot- too cold will meet the rule
that Mars is in our Goldilocks Zone place.

=======================================
Note:The term "The Goldilocks Zone" is used to describe the
"habitable zone around a star when the temperature is
not too hot or too cold." Dr. Charley Lineweaver, Stuart Gary

After the Earth, Mars is the most habitable planet in our
solar system due to several reasons: Its soil contains water
to extract. It isn't too cold or too hot. There is enough
sunlight to use solar panels.

Premium Member From Icarus To Goldilocks

Ninety-three million miles
From sun to Earth’s Goldilocks Zone
Tiny Mercury and mysterious Venus
Torrid, too close to the sun
Carbon—based life prohibited
An Icarus Zone perhaps

But what of Earth’s neighbor?
Holst’s “militant” red planet Mars
Crimson star glows ominously
At 164 million miles from Earth

Theories abound
Scientists say Mars once had water
Microorganisms found
When man finally explores
Might evidence confirm speculation?

We may learn how species evolved
On a planet now dry and desolate
And what of the Sphinx head on Mars
Created by intelligent beings,
Or just a “natural formation”?

What changed to prevent Mars
From supporting life today?
Could Earth suffer the same fate?
Stay tuned to the news
Climate change is underway

So, all this time, we thought Goldilocks's simple story
Was a children's fable, a most innocuous sort
Found it is most sophisticated allegory
Around which many learned scientists would soon cavort.

As the narrative goes, not a complicated plot
The porridge bowls Goldilocks found in the three bears' pad
Were, to her taste, either much too cold or much too hot
Until she tasted the porridge the baby bear had.

It seems that astronomers are looking for a place
In the cosmos where water stays liquid all year 'round
Because a planet humans can inhabit in space
Must not be too hot or too cold—"just right" must be found.

The scientists are looking for that Goldilocks Zone
Just right for the sustainability of human life
A planet earth's residents could call their very own
And, hopefully, free of interplanetary strife!

What great fortune, this goldilocks system;
If by Creator, most of us missed him.
When swine have every drop of profit squoze,
The Earth shall be veiled, and all of us froze.

Goldilocks and the Bears

As Goldilocks finished eating the bears porridge,
she took a nice nap upstairs and ended up snoring,
waking up to hear the three bears come home,
she thought she was like Kevin, home alone,

Running quickly down the massive flight of stairs,
like an olympian champion past the three fuming bears,
still running she laughed about her breaking and entering,
till Smokey the bear pulled her over and started questioning,

Goldilocks started to sweat and to stammer,
Smokey the bear coming down with a hammer,
locking her up for stealing food and other charges,
Goldi started picking locks while penned up in the slammer,

Escaping and running through the woods,
she was on the lam, like a fugitive,
till she ran into the the Papa Bears face,
tired of eating porridge, Goldi was gone witout a trace.

Premium Member Goldilocks Weather

Don't you just love a Sunday afternoon?
Especially when it's in early June?
It's too early to be hot enough to make you swoon.
It's not too sultry at night in the light of the moon.
This is the time enjoyed by young and old.
The weather is not too hot and it's not too cold.
This is Goldilocks weather which is just right.
To me, these times prove to be such a delight.

Premium Member In Search of Goldilocks

eye to telescope all night long,
she looks for the Goldilocks zone,
her young new husband six foot strong,
desires her soft flesh on her bone!

married in love just few weeks back,
astronomy gets attention,
muscular torso full six pack,
from her gets no passing mention!

passions are different when young,
for her extra terrestrial,
being male hormones flushed, well hung,
his plans more territorial!

late one night exhausted from her search
she said “ you know Goldilocks zone?”
“Not G zone”! he said from his perch,
“can show you G spot when alone!”

Thanks to the weather in England,
cloudy nights came to his rescue,
he shows her stars now with his wand,
she is in Goldilocks zone new!

Premium Member Poor Goldilocks

Angie,
You didn't like the song
Dude played for you
'cause you think it's about a junkie

I was good to you
For nothing
Really
No love interest
No taking advantage
Just a starving artist
Living in your car
I tried to help
Just a human being
Helping another human being

And you helped yourself
To everything
Steaks, tequila, my good whiskey
Even slept in my bed
(After trashing your room)
Left dirty dishes on my night stand
Let your chihuahua pee in my living room
Dysfunctional Goldilocks

Came home to the stink
Dirty dishes piled up
Rotten garbage
An un-flushed toilet
Extremely dysfunctional Goldilocks

Night before I left
C told me you were crazy
Not to let you stay
Thought she just didn't like you
But C was being a friend

She and V were over for dinner
Took her two year old
To use my bathroom
"Did you see this?"
(Guess I missed something after two days
Cleaning your mess)
A light bulb with a straw
Taped to the severed socket-end
(Found that part in the sink with the dirty dishes... odd)
"That's a meth pipe"
(V's had some experience with meth heads)

Sad Goldilocks

"Told you about her."
And I didn't listen to my best friend
I felt sorry for you
Goldilocks

And you don't like your namesake song
Cause it's about a junkie
Now, I think I understand

Saw you in the gulch
Sitting on the sidewalk
As tourists passed by
High as a kite

"Angie
Angie
You can't say (I) never tried."*

The Goldilocks Planet

Do you wonder about the sun ?
Is it now running out of gas?
What happens when it does, my friend?
I will tell you of Earth's last pass

Each minute of every day
The Sun burns its gaseous core
Billions of years it has done so
There is perhaps a billion more

Now, as the sun runs out of gas
The size of the orb does expand
And the edge of the sun creeps nearer
The Earth - as the physics does demand

We live in a "Goldilocks Space"
It's not too cold and not too hot
But as the Sun invades our niche
It will get hotter than we've got

Now this is fact, so listen well
In due time the oceans will boil
And all of our Earth will burn crisp
No matter the worry and toil

We will either leave or perish
When Goldilocks no longer works
When global warming is a fact
And the ocean bubbles and perks

It's human nature to worry
And warming is a course to pursue
Fight the greenhouse effect of course
But we leave or die in round two

Goldilocks Vs Wilde Woolf

Watch the rodents and regulars
Sifting through the spiritless so-so
Of their sake.
Rushing for a room
In the established B&B,
Avocados and aperitifs
Swelling their bellies and slowing their minds.
Always wary of all their wares,
Reapers of replication.
The competition of the committee
For no tribute, nor travesty, just toll.

Watch the stickmen and society
Parade through the pith paths
Of their poetry.
Dawdling for the day
In the extraordinary ordinary,
Tates and Tatt
Warming their bellies and fizzing their minds.
No wares or too many to care,
Makers of mavericks,
Challengers of the committee,
For just tribute, or travesty, no toll.

Halfway through my life I changed my hair
from dark to light, which fits. My skin is fair!

I had it bleached, and I never knew what would
transpire eventually; it was not good!

One day I showered, and my hair stayed dry!
It crumbled in my fingers! I could cry.

I had to cut it short and grow it out.
New ways to change I had to think about.

My daughter is my hair stylist, and she
knows how important “color” is to me.

My roots are now half grey; I’m kind of old.
But I still love and want that look of gold.

An auburn hue she gives me with blonde streaks.
It stays that way a few months. Then grey peeks.

I’m also glad how long my hair has grown.
Often I return to Goldilocks Zone.

Premium Member Grasping For Goldilocks

Burning off the excess
Things got out of line
Everything is golden
Until it loses its shine

Pendulum constantly swinging
Quick to overreact
Impermanence around the corner
Grasping for what is fact

Need to seek balance
Stand on stable ground
Know things will settle
What was lost will be found

The scale evens out
Water finds its level
We’ll never find Goldilocks
But the pendulum starts to settle

                        I am so lucky to
            live in the Goldilocks Zone
where it is not too cold and not too hot
just like in the fairytale of the three bears

                        Earth is the only
planet with air, mountains, valleys and canyons
and lush forests with trees reaching for space
and most important is water for plants and flowers

and for the people and all
the fish, the birds, and every creature
                         oh, yes I am lucky
to call Earth my home where it is just right
not to cold and not too hot
nice and safe for now . . .
